Can I use AppleScript to change the Processor Speed in System Preferences/Energy Saver pane?
The background is that my PowerBook G4 is quite noisy when it's running on the highest speed. This is okey during the days but on the evenings and nights I want it silent (but still on), so instead of changing this manually I'm thinking of a Script to trigger this.

yes this can be done using a bit of gui script, the script supplied can be saved as a "application, run only" and activated say from iCal or cron.
"3" is Lowest, so just change the "3" in this line

to 2 or 1 "2" is Highest, "1" is Automatic
and then re-save the script with another name and activate it to change your settings back to where you started.

Cannot click radio buttons after Windows Updates

Hello,
We approved the following Office updates back in December and since then, our users cannot click radio buttons in Word documents. This month, we pushed all updates stated in the following article:

We've also removed .exd files from users' computers and this still hasn't resolve our issue. This is critical for us as we use these documents across the entire organization. Please help!
I've tested this both on Office 2013 click-to-run and Office 2010 with the same results. 2013 is the latest version and I've deleted .exd for this as well, using Fix It, script and manually.

Radio Button with Submit Ready Only problem

My radio button with submit ready only condition doesn't work correctly. When I click the a link on the first page
it brings me to an update page. I have a radio button with submit, that won't open as a read only.
It is being populated by SQL query, with the Null option selected. When I open the page I don't want the user to be able to edit the field unless they delete records associated with the field. Pretty much I want it to be disabled if the user has a record associated with it.
Here are the queries.

If that is the source of the radiogroup, then it should be:

FROM DFCY
WHERE DFCY_SEQNO = :P12_DFCY_SEQNOThis should return two values for each radio button - the displayed text and the returned value. If your radios do not have a returned value, then "Yes" will never be found. You can check this by loading the page and doing a View Source on it - search for RADIO and check what "value" attributes they have.

Radio buttons with dropdowns?

I'm creating a form for my company's HR department, and I need some radio buttons with dependent dropdowns.
In other words, I'd like (for example) three radio buttons. No dropdowns appear until one of the buttons is selected, and then the appropriate dropdown appears. Is this possible? Or is there a better way to do this? I don't want the unselected dropdowns to be available.
I have Pro 9 for Windows and Pro X for Mac. I know virtually nothing about scripting, but I know that it can be done.

Do I make the dropdowns visible or hidden?
Their visibility will be determined by the state of the radio-buttons. As default you can set them to be hidden, when no radio button is selected.
Do I put any code in the dropdown properties, or just in the radio button properties?
Just in the radio buttons.
And when you say "embed this code at the doc-level," what does that mean?
Go to Advanced - Document Processing - Document JavaScripts...
Create a new script, remove the default text that appears in the window and paste the code I provided instead.

This is useful if I want to customize every file, but unfortunately, I just want to mass create reference movies for a whole bunch of files.
What I am looking for is for an Apple script that is a drag and drop application, so I can drop say 100 movie files or so, and have the Apple script create reference movie files with the same name and in the same directory automatically with no prompts.
Since I am unfamiliar with Apple script I was wondering if someone would be able to edit my existing script to do what I want.

Use Automator. It's great for repetitious tasks (like the one you've described), and it's very user-friendly. Open Automator, create a new workflow that executes the action you want, and you can apply that action to the resources you wish to edit.

How to differentiate between Radio Buttons with the same name?

My form has two fields, to which I gave the same name ("Radio Button 1.0") in order to achieve mutual exclusivity.
Now, I would like to use JavaScript to retrieve the value of one the two fields:

When Radio Buttons and Check Boxes are unchecked their value is "Off", so if you have "Yes", "No" buttons you will also encounter an 'Off" value. Now if you want to look at a given button, you will have to use the "isBoxChecked(nWidget)" method.
nWidget:
The 0-based index of an individual radiobutton or checkbox widget for this field. The index is determined by the order in which the individual widgets of this field were created (and is unaffected by tab-order).
Every entry in the Fields panel has a suffix giving this index, for example MyField #0.
Returns
true if the specified widget is currently checked, false otherwise.
Example

luego hay que bajar hasta el final y ver Comunidad y Foros...... (esto puede ser)
al pulsar aparacen un montón de foros se supone de programas pero en inglés,
y la última línea es de International Forums, ya casi hemos llegado)
pulsamos entonces, y por fin se abren cuatro palabras con idiomas, en una dice: español (casi no me lo puede creer)
pincho y llego por fin aquí.
Muy poca gente sabe de la existencia de este pequeño refugio, si a esta dificultad añadimos la peculiar forma de ser de la gente, ....

Hi Flip,
The user when switching between modes will fire an event to the server. This even needs to be caught in a bean and set a variable's value to either true or false.
Now you can treat "TRUE" to be in view and "FALSE" to be in edit mode.
Depending on this images can be changed.
Ex: your bean will be like

In the above script, xxxxxx represents the name of my iDisk that is mounted in the Finder.
Here's my issue - the above script worked fine until just recently. However, now the first two steps work fine, but I get this error message while trying to copy the file to my iDisk:
"The operation could not be completed because some items had to be skipped. 'Personal.dmg'"
Does anyone have any ideas on how I can fix this? I'm wondering if Mac OS 10.4.5 might be the culprit since this problem seems to have occurred shortly after I upgraded???

Thanks for the quick info.
There is no text to edit. I have a box with a radio button at the far right side.
When I right-click on the radio button I get the following options: Cut, Copy, Paste, Delete, Rename Object..., Change Object Type>, Send Backwards, Send To Back, Palettes> and Add to Library...
When I tried the Radio Button in a document created in LC it workd as you mentioned. It is only when I import a PDF file.
I figure I probably have something configured incorrectly. I am using PDF 1.7 (Acrobat 8) when distilling.
I also noticed that some of the items in the Standard libarary are grayed out: Circle, Content Area, Image, Rectangle, Text, and Subform.

Move a mouse with Apple script

Hello,
I need some apple script code to move a mouse to a certain location and then click. If possible could it record the location of the mouse, move it to the pre-assigned coordinates, click, and them move it back to where it was.
I am doing this so I can use multivid and Qlab to play different videos on different iOS devices. Multivid doesn't seem to let me have a cue list with different videos playing simultaneously.
I will have my iMac set up with 2 displays, one with Qlab and the other with multivid in full screen.

Disable checkbox lists while clicking Radio button

I have a checkbox list come from LOV based on a select from database table.
I have added a Radiobutton only (not redirect not submit since I have to restrict the option as this is based on requirement).Now I want to disable the checkbox while I am clicking the radio button .

ok, I create two radio buttons (Enable and Disable)(P8_RADIO). I created a LOV of users with checkboxes (P8_CHECK). When I click on disable all the checkboxes are disabled and enabled when I click on enable.
First add this to your radio
P8_RADIO's HTML Form Element Attributes
onclick="disable(this)"
Then, add this to the page HTML Header

**note**p_v02 is the name of the checkboxes.

I requested a repair, but there was an error after clicking the button with my credit card info. I was still charged, but the form email I received the next day had incorrect info about my iPod Touch problem. How can I contact CS w/o paying $19?!

My iPod Touch battery is not working. I requested a repair through the Apple Support. On the final page, when I clicked the button that puts the info through with your credit card number, the resulting page gave an error (I wish I'd have saved it!). Anyhow, I checked my credit card and it was charged, so I assumed the repair request went through. The next day I received a form email saying my problem was with "Sync with iTunes (Not iCloud) - Data Backup/Migration (not iCloud)" instead of the battery repair. It also says for iPod customers, to send your iPod to Apple - but I had requested the "iPod Coffin" to be mailed to me so I could send it back. Obviously there was an error between the request and what was received, so I'd like to ask Customer Service about it. However, I can't find a way to contact them. When I replied to that form email, I recieved an automated reply saying emails there were not read. Anything online asks me to pay $19 and I don't have the correct issues to request an exception. The closest store is over an hour away or I'd simply go there to ask. What can I do?! Any suggestions you have are much appreciated. Thank you!
PS - The form email also says if I wait 10 days the repair request will be canceled. Does this mean my credit card will be refunded for the $85 battery replacement charge if it is canceled automatically?

Selecting Different Printer With Apple Script.

now there is chance to change the printer selection twice once in the 1st print screen and once in the 2nd print screen the only problem is im not sure how to apple script to select the right printer from the drop down menu, I got the code from a forum but I think it was old code as when I tested it it was returning errors so I modified it a bit and now it just struggles finding the menu item with description of printer.
Does anyone know what I would have to use for it to select the right printer? (The Zebra Technologies ZTC GK420t)
Help would be greatly appricited!

Im NOT sure if you have just made this a little over complicated… This works just fine for me. Tested with about a dozen psd layers…
