Client Certification and Just Server Certification IN SSL OAS 10.1.2.3

We are trying to find out how to setup the ssl.conf as a part of our OAS 10.1.2.3 to accept two different types of users with two different URL. We need to setup the Oracle HTTP Server to NOT TO ASK for the CLIENT VERIFICATION SMART CARD and Cert Information if the URL that is entered by the user includes /web_html for example as a part of the total URL.
We think it might be doable by using SSLRequire ( %{SSL_CIPHER} but so far no luck.
If anyone has any example to share, we greatly appreciate it.
Thanks so much in advance for your time,
KA

Resolved. Command "dcmctl resetfiletransaction" and then opmnctl stop and startall cleared the process. It was dcm-daemon that was still alive.

I don't think tomcat supports the ejb-ref portion of web.xml. If you're using ejbs your best bet is to use a web container within a J2EE implementation.

  • Client Applet and EJB Server problem

    Hi,
I developed a applet client that tries to connect to an EJB on the server side. The Applet runs okay in JDev3 but if I deploy it and test it outside the JDev tool I get an error. I tracked the problem to the following line of code:

Do I run into an applet security problem? If so what do i have to do to allow the applet to read/write to the local system?
    Thanks for any hints!

  • Is there a problem with Allen Bradley PLC and web server export options

It says this object will not run in a client version. I have a development version and a client version. Maybe I'm not understanding the error message. Lookout 5.0

The process you upload to a web server needs to be a poor client process. It means you have to create a client process without the PLC driver and a server process with the PLC driver. You will just upload the client process and the server process will stay on the Lookout Server machine.
There are several links on the support site those explain the prefered client-server architecture to choose for a Lookout application.

  • Server Admin. file sharing lion client to Snow leopard server

I'm running Lion on my client Mac and my Server is Snow leopard 10.6.8.  I have to use Server Admin 10.7 on Lion but there is no "File Sharing" tab to set up or edit the file sharing options on my 10.6 server?.  I understand this is correct for Lion Server, but how do I get round it for Snow leopard Server??  On the Apple website compatibility page (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1822) it states:
    "Mac OS X Server v10.6
To administer a Mac OS X Server v10.6-based server, you can use the Server Admin Tools 10.6 on a Mac OS X v10.6 (client) computer. You should match the version numbers of the server, tools, and admin workstation as closely as possible; for example, use Server Admin Tools version 10.6.8 on Mac OS X v10.6.8 to administer Mac OS X Server v10.6.8. You may also use the Server Admin Tools 10.7 on an OS X Lion computer to administer Mac OS X Server v10.6."
So, How do I administer file sharing???

To configure File Sharing on a 10.6 server using 10.7 Server Admin, click the service (AFP, SMB, NFS, etc.) then click the Share Points tab.

  • Attaching a coherence client to a coherence server acting as an L2 Cache

We have coherence set up as an L2 cache for a web app running in weblogic. The coherence jar is a part of the application ear and is therefore running in the same JVM as the app (as far as I am aware). The cache seems to be happily working (according to my hibernate stats) on both a single server and across a cluster. I can additionally execute code in the app that directly works with the cache so everything seems to be working fine. What I would like to do as part of trying to understand what I've actually got running is attach to what I assume is a coherence server via a client i.e. run coherence.cmd, and interrogate the cache that is hosted within weblogic (in the same way as when I run up a couple of client windows and a server on my pc and put entries into caches, get them out etc.). At the moment if I try to put an entry in via the client window (whilst my app is running in weblogic) I get
com.tangosol.net.RequestPolicyException: No storage-enabled nodes exist for service DistributedCache
and I don't know what I need to change to get the client to see the server.
    Any help much appreciated,
    Paul Fitz.

It sounds like your client thinks it is a member of some other cluster than the one
you want to monitor. Probably in this case no cluster exists, so your client is the only member
and doesn't support storage, so that could be the reason for the error.
What is the clusterport of the cluster you are trying to connect to? If it isn't the default
cluster port then you need to set properties to point it to the right place.

  • 10g OCI client certification

we are in process of 10g RAC Certification and Customer Aksed
Would it be correct to assume that the Oracle RAC 10g Certification will include the 10g OCI client certification? I believe this will be necessary for an application to connect to the cluster.
Can any one help to answer this? and how we can do 10g OCI client certification?

I'm not sure what you're asking...
Assuming you need to have the 10g client installed on the middle tier (if your middle tier is a J2EE application server, those folks will probably want to use Oracle's Type 4 (thin) JDBC drivers, which don't require the 10g client), yes, you can install just the 10g client. Depending on the operating system, there may be a separate client-only download or you may have to download the entire database and choose to do a client-only install.

  • Client Certification

    Hi,
My application has to communicate with a Server using Server and Client Authentification. Using the default Trustmanager, I get an unknown certificate ValidatorException.
When I use my custom Trustmanager to disable th server certification, I get an 403 Not authorized Error.
    So here are my questions:
1-Is the server certification obligatory for the client certification. I mean if I disable the server check, is it possible to establish the communication?
2-In the debug output I noticed the following:
    ###########BEGIN##########

Is ist normal that the certificate chain is not shown, although it is listed at the beginning of the debug output:

What could be the reason of the error?

403 Not Authorized is an HTTP error code. It looks like maybe the SSL handshake completed successfully but for some reason the server is returning a 403 on the particular URL you are trying to retrieve.

  • Client Auth  and SSL with Seeburger AS2 adapter

    Hello All,
We are using the Seeburger AS2 adapter in our landscape and I am in the process of setting the same up and have made quite some progress in all my issues.
and I  hope that you will be able to help me out.
    1. Server SSL on Receiver AS2 adapter
I am sending a message from XI using the Receiver AS2 adapter to my AS2 test tool using Server SSL.
This is working perfectly fine. In my AS2 adapter I have selected HTTPS as the protocol and the message goes via SSL to the target test tool, is processed and the MDN comes back to XI perfectly.
    The issue here is :
Irrespective of what is provided in the Server Certificate ( Keystore) , the message goes to my target test tool. I even left this field blank with no certificate entry and still the SSL connection was established and the message went to the target system.
Is there no validation that XI does here? I am lost what is the use of this entry Server Certificate if XI blindly accepts all SSL connections.
I am using a Decentral Adapter Engine with LoadBalancer.
    2. Client Auth on Receiver AS2 Adapter
I tried to perform Client Authentication by proving my Server's private key in the AS2 adapter. The corresponding public key is loaded in my partner's Keystore.
XI error's with the error "SSL handshake failed - Bad Certificate" .
I am not sure why XI is erroring out here and I have a feeling that I have misunderstood the use of the fields in the AS2 adapter,
Server Certificate ( Keystore) and Private Key for Client Authentication.
Has anyone tried this? If further details are needed, I will be able to furnish the same.
    Regards,
    Bhavesh

    Hello Jens,
    Thanks for your reply.
    1. The Encryption and Signature part of the Interface is working absolutely fine and I use the same concept highlighted by you - The Sender always signs the message with his private key and encrypts with message with the partner's public key in the corresponding agreement.
    2. Server SSL is also working perfectly fine, i.e, when XI initiates the connection the SSL connection is established to the partner.
    3. Mutual Auth was the issue where I was getting the bad certificate issue.
To investigate further I moved the same setup to my Central Adapter Engine and all the issues I had described above seem to have vanished and things work exactly as I was expecting, ie.
The field : Server Certificate (Keystore) is used to provide the Target System's Server SSL's public Certificate.
The field : Private Key for Client Authentication is used where XI provides its own Server SSL's private key for Mutual / Client Authentication.
The problem seems to be with my Decentral Adapter engine and not my central adapter engine and so I guess,
    1. I either have the incorrect certificates on my Decentral Adapter Engine.
    2. I also have 2 instances of a Decentral Adapter Engine with a Webdispatcher and so maybe the 2 Visual Admin's of the 2 Decentral AE are inconsistent.
    3. Maybe it was just a long day and I did something wrong
Will investigate further for the root cause but I am glad that my concepts remain intact and things do work as I expected them to work.
A blog on all this is on the cards sometime soon.
    Cheers,
    Bhavesh

  • AnyConnect SSL-client Certificate AND AAA RADIUS

    Hi All,
I'm trying to setup Anyconnect VPN Phone feature. I have the license, and I have been able to get the phone to authenticate / register etc with a username / password.
I want to use the cert on the phone, use the CN as the username and just verify that against my ACS server via RADIUS.... Easier said than done. • Error in the Socket Communication between Java Client and VC++ Server

In my application, using Java Client to do socket bi-communication with VC++ Server, which is done by somebody else.
The error is after the application properly running one or two days, the VC++ Server cannot receive the messages passed by java Client, but at Java client, everything is the same, although using CheckError() after every print(), there is no exception thrown.
The JVM is jdk1.3.1, platform is Win2k Server.
    The outputstream is PrintWriter().
Please help me to settle down this problem. Thanks in advance.

I read some thread in the forum, and found somebody had the similar problem with me. Just want to know how to settle this problem.
In the client/server program. Client is a JAVA program and Server a
VC++ program. The connection works, and the problem appears after some time. The Client sends a lots of requests to Serverm, the server seems receive nothing. But at the same time, the server is able to send messages to Client. The Client also can get the messages and handle them. Don't understand why there this problem and why it appears when it wants.
The client is a Win2k platorm with JDK1.3.1 and the server is also a Win2K platform with VC++ 6.0.
    In the Client, using:
    inputFromServer = new BufferedReader(new InputStreamReader(socket.getInputStream()));
    outputToServer = new PrintWriter(new BufferedWriter(new OutputStreamWriter(socket.getOutputStream())),true);
    Hope can get your help.

  • WLS :: Will Vista web client work with Weblogic Server 8.1.6 over SSL?

    Hello,
I have installed 51-2 bit SSL cert on weblogic 7 and found that the secure site doesn't work on Vista web client.
Weblogic gives error in handshaking and says algorithm is not supported.
Vista web client uses some algorithms which were not supported by weblogic 7.
So would like to know if would Vista web client work with Weblogic Server 8.1.6 over SSL?
Any information in this regard would be helpful.
    Thanks in Advance.

can you use the following debug flags in the weblogic server as java_options and paste the complete ssl handshake exception here.
    -Dweblogic.StdoutDebugEnabled=true
    -Dssl.debug=true
