Client showing it doesn't have client installed, but it does

I have clients out at a secondary site that I've done a push install to.  when I do a push install to the client I can see the server create the request and pass it on to the client, the client then receives the request and in the log files I see it
completes the install and returns no error codes.  The problem is when I open config manager console on my primary site it shows that client, but says the client software isn't installed (even though I can see it in control panel of the client).
The only error I can find regarding anything is on the client side in the CcmMessaging.log file.  It shows the following over and over again:
[CCMHTTP] ERROR: URL=http://<Primary Site Server>/ccm_system_windowsauth/request, Port=80, Options=224, Code=0, Text=CCM_E_BAD_HTTP_STATUS_CODE
Raising event:

    StatusCode = 500;
    ThreadID = 4784;

Does anyone have any ideas what might be causing this at all?

Just as a follow up, I ended up tracking the issue back to IIS.  No matter what I did I could never get IIS to work, even browsing to the FQDN of that server in a web browser I got the "An internal error has occured" message and anytime
I tried the MPlist or Cert address I would get the 500 error.  I unfortunately had to remove IIS, which in return took off my WSUS as well.  After I re-added IIS I then removed and re-added the management point role and all is working, however I'm
still trying to get WSUS running as I'm not getting the "Fatal error: unable to start the wsus service" error.  Hopefully I'll get that resolved soon.
