  • XML Parse Failure : Diagnostics / workaround requested

    Hey people,
I don't know if anyone else has had the issue but I have have hit it several times now and its very frustrating. (Usually as a result of trying to remove incorrect schemas via Enterprise Manager).
If there is ever an invalid XML instance (ie. one that fails to parse) in the XDB views (PATH_VIEW, RESOURCE_VIEW), a select query to return clobs doesn't work. It fails with:
    "ORA-31013 XML Parse Failed"
"ORA-19202 : Error occurred during XML processing"
In this case it continues with
"LPX-00234 : namespace 'ts' is not declared
    Error at line 5
And some message extension errors and so on and so forth.
    A couple of questions...
    1) Is it actually necessary to validate the XML to return the CLOB value (or an approximation) of a stored XMLType anyway?
    2) Would it be possible to add a validity flag in order be able to restrict against these instances that fail parsing? (For diagnostics / removal purposes).
    3) Is there some other way that I am missing for deleting the invalid resource? Every time I try and find the resource or schema record, the XML processing fails and I can't identify it to delete it (manually or otherwise).
    Any ideas?
    Lachlan

I'd avoid OEM for the moment
    From SQLPLUS
call dbms_xdb.deleteResource('path',2) will delete a resource regardless of errors that were encounterd
    Also from ftp
    quot rm_rf path..

  • Subsequent XML Parse Failures

    Hi,
Code is executing in a loop and is parsing files in a list.
Upon encountering an XML error during parsing it seems that all subsequent parsing of any XML file results in a "LPX-00202: could not open file <file>" error.
Even though the subsequent files are valid and are parsed successfully if processed before the failing XML file.
This is despite doing an xmlclean in between parsing of the different files.
I want to avoid doing an xmlterm/xmlinit for each file.
    Is this a known bug?
    Using 8i XDK
    Thanks in advance.

Similar to the problems Im experiencing.
Two main things have cropped up as issues in my test data migration :
    1) XML Parse error on one of the files generated - Mine is character 55 @ line 111530 !!
    2) Doesnt seem to like linked tables on the network - even if refreshed etc. According to the documentation they are supported, but it wont generate the XML file if I leave any in there. It isnt a huge issue just now, but my migration scope is potentially over 500 databases, some of which already large. Importing all linked tables to them could cause severe probs ! I'll post a solution if I find it !
    David.

    You've got a problem with a corrupted config.xml file.
Since you did not make any changes you can copy the config.xml.booted file over the corrupted config.xml.
The other option is to walk though the config.xml file and look for the problem...

I don't know why this faulty code is referencing things to do with "chrome"... the Chrome browser is not installed on this PC or anywhere on our network.
Also, this is not the first problem I had after clicking Firefox's prompt for the latest update. Before Firefox retreated into this error message, it was loading but running with some faults...
    1. the bookmark symbol was not appearing on the right hand side of the URL line, so I had always to click on "bookmark this page", after which the bookmark symbol did appear; however I don't know if the bookmarking function worked properly.

    3. there may have been other errors, but I did not find them.
How do I reinstate my Firefox program to work properly please? do I have to download the latest version and reinstal? if so, do I have to remove the old version first? or is there a fix?

  • Oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser error

I'm reposting this error that I recently received one more time before removing the XML transforms from my Java projects and doing them in .NET.
Code that was working fine suddenly getting a transform error using JDeveloper.
    Get the following:
javax.servlet.ServletException: javax.xml.transform.TransformerConfigurationException: XML-22000: (Fatal Error) Error while parsing XSL file (weblogic.xml.jaxp.RegistryXMLReader cannot be cast to oracle.xml.parser.v2.SAXParser).

    Seems that
    <!--

    <%@ taglib uri="http://java.sun.com/jsp/jstl/core" prefix="c" %>

    <x:transform xml="${xmlHoursWorked}" xslt="${xslt}" />
    </table>
    -->
will not transform XML to HTML via XSL in JSP anymore.
If I run the XSL i get the HTML results I expected in an HTML test page.
So I know the XML and XSL is sound.
XSL and DOM parsing in Java/Oracle was a major pain in the ass in the first place and now this.
Well I've spent hours going through Oralce/Java documentation on XML, DOM and XSL transforms.
All that time spent and still so unstable. I don't think I was ever able to really get what I wanted
which was to transform my XML document to HTML, update via JSP and have the XML document
be updated and ready to view in a summary page. The XML document changes were never really
available unless I closed the app and restarted. So all in all a failure of capabilities compared to my
    use of XML in .NET.
    So........
Me thinks it will be a good idea to take out the transforms and have my JSP use a script to invoke a
method in a class that extracts it from a message. Just have PL/SQL interface with XML and do the
    transform or serialize thing there.
I don't want to give up on XML but I'm tired of trying to jam a square peg into a round hole
    with Java and JDeveloper.
    Brian

We don't support file references ("cv1_0.dtd"). Only url type references
    are supported, of the form:
    @ <!DOCTYPE cv1 SYSTEM "http://www.oracle.com/public/cv1_0.dtd>
Note that the url should be accessible to the world without the need to authenticate.
you could put your dtd in the "public" area in your iFS system.

    SOA Suite = 11.1.1.5
    WebLogic = 10.3.5
Operating System = Fedora14 (a home lab machine but I don't think this is an OS issue)
The error is encountered about 17 minutes into the lengthy process. Just before the error appears in the installation log, the following message appears indicating roughly what step is being performed:
    [zip] Building zip: /opt/oraclemw/aia11115/aia_instances/dev1/tmp/aia_security_policies.zip
    The core error messages are:
[exec] SEVERE: WSM-01605 XML parser exception
    [exec] oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLParseException: Expected 'EOF'.
    [exec] at oracle.xml.parser.v2.XMLError.flushErrors1(XMLError.java:323)
The python modules being executed by the WLST scripting tool at the time of the failure are:
[exec] Problem invoking WLST - Traceback (innermost last):
    [exec] File "/opt/oraclemw/aia11115/Infrastructure/Install/AID/lib/py/importpolicy.py", line 29, in ?
[exec] File "/opt/oraclemw/oracle_common/common/wlst/wsmManage.py", line 719, in importRepository
[exec] File "/opt/oraclemw/oracle_common/common/wlst/lib/ora_util.py", line 51, in raiseScriptingException
    [exec] OracleScriptingException: None
Finally, the outer XML files being used as input for the deployer that seems to be running at the time are:
    /opt/oraclemw/aia11115/Infrastructure/Install/AID/AIAExecuteDriver.xml
with references to lines 221 and 64.
The problem occurs whether I try to use Java JDK 16.0.20 or JRockit R28.2.0 as the JRE when running the AIA installer. (The WebLogic domain is configured to use JRockit).
Any suggestions? Is there a library conflict being picked up between different releases of XercesImpl? I would hope there isn't actually a bad XML file in the AIA artifacts or WSM (Web Service Management) policies being deployed.

    HI
How this issue was resolved? Please explain in detail. I am facing the same issue.
    Regards

  • XML-Parser for PL/SQL: OutOfMemoryError

When using the XML-Parser for transforming an
XML document into HTML, I sometimes get the
    following error:
ORA-29516: Aurora assertion failure: Assertion failure at eox.c:187
    Uncaught exception System error: java/lang/OutOfMemoryError
ORA-04030: out of process memory when trying to allocate 25509408 bytes (joxcx
    callheap,ioc_allocate ufree)
The operation nevertheless seems to finish correctly. I run Oracle 8.1.6 under WinNT4
    (384MB RAM) with a shared_pool_size of about
    30MB and a java_pool_size of 40MB.
The original document is stored in a CLOB,
so I use xmlparser.parseClob to get it.
After the parsing is finished, the result is written to a file using xmldom.writeToFile.
Can anybody point me in the right direction?
    Many thanks in advance!

May I should have said that the memory error
occurs only when transforming a lot of xml documents at once using a cursor loop.

    anybody seen this ??

There is no such limit on our Parser for PL/SQL. Could you
perhaps be using the PLXML Utilities? If you are you might try
    our PL/SQL Parser instead.

  • ANN: XML Parser v1.0.1 - Available

The production release of the Oracle XML Parser for Java
is available for download at http://technet.oracle.com/tech/xml.
It has the following fixes and changes since 1.0.0.3:
    Changes:
NodeFactory class has been made public. Applications can extend
this class to create custom-made nodes in the DOM tree.
In addition, a method to obtain the version string has been
    added.
    Bug fixes:
#808645, XML parser should support user-supplied element
factories, resulting in the exposure of a number of classes and
methods; adding a method getAttDefs() to get the default values
of a Attribute, adding a method setDoctype()that loads the DTD
    used to validate while parsing.
New APIs in the following Classes:
    1. oracle.xml.parser.XMLParser
aaaaaaa -setNodeFactory(Register a user defined NodeFactory)

    Hi guys,
I am taking messages off an MQ Series Queue and using
DBMS_XMLSave.insertXML(this function does an implicit commit) to
    insert into a table.
The insert fails with the Error code 02070: Database does not
    support commit in this context.
This seems due to the fact that the dequeue has not been
comitted. I am trying to do this to avoid losing any message if
the is an error or system failure.
It works if dequeue is commited.
Does XDK support 2 Phase commit or is there a patch that allow
    this?
    Thanks
    Abbey
