Clip quality does not appear as sharp as when I captured

Hello! I am very new to Final Cut Pro and am hoping someone can help me out.
I am capturing footage from my Panasonic DV Cam via Firewire. I have FCP set to DV-NTSC. I have had no trouble capturing the footage except this: in the log and caputure window, as I watched the footage, everything looked crisp and clean. However, now that I view the clips I captured in FCP, they look like they have a softer focus. Is this the quality my final project will have? Or is the resolution lower just for playback?
I would appreciate any help!

We get tons of newbies every week so, between edits, try scrolling down a few weeks' worth of posts to see what looks interesting.
Be sure to do the tutorials, maybe twice, and take the manuals to the gym with you.

Calibri Font does not appear in pdf docs when viewed in Preview

When I open a pdf file created on a PC the Calibri Font does not appear when the doc is opened in Preview. It does not print also.
Do I have to install a font into Preview?
How / Where do I do this?

Adobe Reader does not appear as a choice when I click on a PDF in email

When I open an email that has a PDF, then I click on the "Open With", Adobe Reader does not appear as a choice. I use an IPhone 4S.

Is your phone updated to iOS6?
When I press on the PDF icon at the bottom of an email message on the iPhone, I get a screen which shows "Open in Adobe Reader" along with icons of other readers I have installed which read PDF files.

Outlook does not appear as an option when setting up synchronization

I need help. I recently bought the BB Curve 8330. When I attempt to set up the sync configuations between Outlook and the BB, Outlook does not appear as a choice. What do I need to do to get Outlook to appear? I called Verizon customer service and they were not much help. Please help.

On your Blackberry go to OPTIONS/ABOUT the OS version looks like 4.x.x.xxx.
On your outlook are you running any connectors (business, hotmail etc) ?
5. Close and open Blackberry Desktop Manager to perform the synchronization process again and Outlook will be in the list...
Vista commands
1. Right-Click on Command Prompt in Start Menu and choose Run as Administrator
2. Navigate to C:\Program Files\Research in Motion\Blackberry\IS71 Connectors\MS Outlook Connector by typing: c:\> CD program files\research in motion\blackberry\is71 connectors\ms outlook connector
3. Then type in the command prompt, type: regsvr32 MsOutlookConnector.fil
4. If the registration is successful, the following message displays:
DllRegisterSErver in msoutlookconnector.fil succeeded.
5. Close and open Blackberry Desktop Manager to perform the synchronization process again and Outlook will be in the list...
If you receive the error message DllRegisterServer failed with error code 0x80070005 - you do not have admin rights. So, it's important that you run command prompt as admin.
Let me know about the device and the version of desktop software.

Flashing marker does not appear in search box when starting Firefox

Black screen between every clip that does not appear on timeline, only on MOV file

I have now fixed the letterboxing issue but now have this problem (I did not have this issue before) where I get a very short black screen between each clip I put on the timeline. The black screen does not show up on the timeline, it only appears once I create the file. I'm not sure if this is affected but the fact I have an external hard drive. All my footage is stored on the hard drive and i save my Final Cut Pro file on the hard drive then upload it to YouTube. I made 2 quick short MOV files to test this theory (one made from footage on my EHD and the other from footage from my desk top) neither files had the black screen in the MOV files.

Hello Nick, thanks for the answer.
I have fully lengthened my timeline and the black gaps are not there to delete (they only appear once the file has been exported).
The issue I have (I think) is that im not sure what export settings I am meant to choose to export the footage.
My camera records in widescreen so when I place my footage onto the time line and final cut pro automatically selects the correct settings for me, this is what is chooses
This is then the export settings that are automatically in the box when I go to export
As my footage is 1920 x 1080 I would expect to be given an option with that in but these are the only options available
I am not sure if this should create the black spaces between each shot.

Progress bar in the portal does not appear all the time when loading

I have a dashboard in EP, when I click on it the majority of the time a progress bar appears when it is loading. Some time it does not, the page just appears to be doing nothing, then the dashboard will appear.

Clips from Premiere not appearing in After Effects when replacing them with an AE composition

I am attempting for the first time, moving my edit from a sequence in Premiere Pro (CC) to After Effects, in an effort to color correct my clips in Ae rather than Pr. I highlight all the clips in my edit from my sequence, right click, and select "Replace with After Effects Composition." This then opens After Effects as it is suppose to, and has me create a new project. It then shows that I have created a new linked composition, the way it is suppose to, but does not have any clips linked with it. As I understand, your project tab will show both the composition and the clips. I am only getting the composition. What do I need to do to send my sequence from Premiere to After Effects?

I think it's a bug. The same thing happens to me. To work around it, I go to AE and either import the Pr project choosing the sequence I want, or I use the Adobe Dynamic Link command to link to the desired sequence.

HT1386 my ipad is not syncing my music correctly from my itunes account via my laptop. The music does not appear, although it shows when you look into summary as grayed out .

I carried out a recent software update and there after that my itunes music would not sync in the normal way. My music only shows on my ipad when connected and in music summary and this is shown as grayed out with a broken circle icon beside any new music which has been inported to my itunes account via my laptop. In the past when i connected my ipad to my laptop to sync it would ask if i wanted to transfer from ipad or not. This does not happen now at it goes straight into sync mode.

This sounds so frustrating. If any processing of sound, e.g. through Logic, through Wiretap, or you might try Garageband (which I assume you have tucked away somewhere), produces the problem, then its hard to blame the software of the individual program. This leaves OSX and/or Coreaudio, or a hardware problem. Sorry if you've already reached this stage. This would mean a reinstall of OSX (or an upgrade, if you're thinking of it), or addressing the hardware issue. I know I had some very bizarre things (and repetitive) happen to me with faulty memory, or memory that just wasn't seated properly in its slot. You could start out by running the hardware test and go from there.

How can I ync iPhone 3Gs with my Windows 7 PC, when iTunes does not launch when I connect the iPhone to my computer? Note: My computer crashed and I am reinstalling everything.

Syncing to a new iTunes library or computer will erase your phone. Only if you back up your phone manually before syncing, you can restore your device from that backup again. A manual backup does not include the sync process.
Do this:
Disable autosync in iTunes, connect your phone to your new computer and right click on it in the device list and choose backup. iTunes will backup your device without syncing.
Transfer your purchases the same way, choosing "transfer purchases" this time.
When you connect your phone for the first time, all media content will be erased. But you can restore your settings and app data from your manual backup afterwards.
Don't forget to set up at least one contact and event on your new computer to be able to merge calendars and contacts when you sync the iPhone for the first time.
Music is one way only, from the computer to your device, unless you bought the songs in iTunes and transferred your purchases.

You can also back up iTunes and restore it on your new computer How to back up your media in iTunes , but the iPhone will be erased anyway during the first sync.

I have connected my eclipse to Jump start kit remotely and facing the issue. I have attached screen shot here.

I just read your comment - "connected my eclipse to Jump start kit remotely". Does that mean that you have installed eclipse and JSK in different location/server/machine? or they are installed in same machine?
If installed in same machine, can you the do the following?
1. Remove the CSDT plugin from eclipse. Open eclipse with CMD - Open command line and type "eclipse - clean" and press enter.
2. Add the CSDT plugin as described in the guide - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/doc.1111/e29634/dt_quickstart.htm#WBCSD941
Note: you need to have correct plugin as mentioned in guide.
3. When you try to connect, do you see green icon after the connection details are entered as shown here - http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E29542_01/doc.1111/e29634/dt_quickstart.htm#BEHBAIAC? If not, then you are not connected. Check user's permission. If you are using fwadmin, this user must be a part of the RestAdmin group. Once added to RestAdmin group, try to connect and see if GREEN icon is shown.
