Clips imported into iMovie will not play: Please Help!
I have been working on a project in iMovie for awhile now and I have a few different clips imported into it. I have not had a problem with it before yesterday. I went to import another clip and for some reason I got error message "-43" that said it could not copy the files into iMovie. Then today when I opened iMovie to try again, all the clips that had been imported already were grayed out and a little yellow warning sign was in the bottom left hand corner of each clip display (yellow triangle with ! in the middle). They would not play.
It is not the clips though- they work fine when I open them in quicktime and iPhoto.
I don't know if this is ay significance, but this morning before the clips stopped working iMovie made new thumbnails- could this be any reason why it isn't working?
Can anyone help with this problem? I don't know what happened!

Try restoring the iPhone to factory settings. If you are having difficult restoring, put the iPhone into Recovery Mode and see if that then works:

If not, or if a restore to factory settings does not fix the problem, then your iPhone may have a hardware problem. You can only get the iPhone serviced by Apple in Canada, so you will have to take the iPhone there or send it to someone you know in Canada who can get the iPhone serviced and send it back to you. The only option for getting service in Pakistan would be to pay some unauthorized repair shop to attempt a repair, after which Apple will no longer provide any service even in Canada.

Go to command Prompt -

(Win XP SP2 n above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
netsh winsock reset
Hit "ENTER" key
Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

I'm having an issue with iMovie regarding adding music to my project. iMovie will not add any music that I have purchased through iTunes.
Briefly, the background: I just bought a new MacBook Pro the other day, and transferred all my iTunes music from my iMac via FireWire yesterday.
Today I'm working on a movie of a vacation I just took, and wanted to add a file from iTunes. When I went to do that, it said I'm not authorized to play it on this computer. So I went into iTunes & authorized my computer; it said that I was successful, and I have authorized a total of 2 out of 5 machines.
I even restarted my computer & rebooted iMovie, but it still says I'm not authorized to play this content on this computer, even though iTunes is still saying that it is now authorized. Somehow they're not communicating with each other or something.
Any help would be GREATLY appreciated!

UPDATE: Actually I jumped the gun... I tried playing the file I want to add to iMovie in iTunes, and it keeps bugging me to authorize the computer to play it; so I put in my username/password, and the thing says "OK, you're authorized now, this is 2 machines out of 5 that are authorized," but then I try playing it again in iTunes, and it starts over saying I'm not authorized to play it on this computer. Soooooooo aggravating!! Any pointers PLEASE?? Thanks!

Why do 4 video clips import into iMovie and one doesn't?
I attempted to import 5 short clips into my MacBook Pro from the same event, shot with an ipad2. Four of the clips easily imported into iMovie. IMovie said that the fifth clip wouldnt import because it is 'not compatible with iMovie'. All of the clips are 1280x720, H.264/AAC, encoding 7.0.2. Importing to IMovie 11, version 9.0.9. I've read thru some of the strings but haven't quite found this problem. Any ideas?
thank youI think this is an SD memory card camera. It does not work in a format that FCE uses. FCE only works with DV, HDV or AVCHD material. Everything else has to be converted to a format FCE works with.

Importing .GIF into Fc will not play the animated gif in output
I imported a animated .gif (attached video.gif) into Fc (of a sequence of pics I took saved as an animated .gif)
It inported as a "bitmap image" and upon export to swf it did NOT show the .gif as an animated .gif but just shows the first frame..
(It did not put this file into an assests folder...)
So I converted the "bitmap image" into an optimaized graphic...and NOW it DOES put the original animated gif into the "assets" folder with a Graphic1.fxg and video.gif in that folder.. and If I open the gif in the assest folder it plays it as the animated .gif it is..
BUT SADLY upon export to SWF it still DOES not play the gif as an animated gif.. just the first frame...
Can I do anything in the code to tell the swf file that is exported to play the gif in the assest folder as an animated gif not just show the frame?
I did the animated gif approach becasue I setup a photoshop cs4 file with a quicktime video as a layer and Fc only brought in the first frame of the quicktime layer..
Could the next beta of Fc include the ability to import and play animated gifs as artwork as well AND/or to import Ps Cs4 video layers as videos

(no experience with flash pro but just bought cs4 and will try to learn FlashPro overweekend)Interesting. I don't think this is somethign you can do in Flash Catalyst. We have .GIF support in the Flash Player but I don't think you can use a GIF asset inside Catalyst. If you need that GIF to play you'll have to embed it using Flash Builder.
But Flash Catalyst will support video version 1.0. I don't think you can turn arbitrary layers into "video" layers but you can bring in video files (like .FLV) and then attach components to behaviors (like play, stop, etc).

Stopping services pertaining to Windows Update

My Iphone Will Not Restore, Please Help.
Hello,
I fell asleep while facetiming, I woke up and found that my iphone will not turn on, which is odd, since I was charging it. I then took it off my charger and then put it back on. The Iphone 4 then showed the Apple Insignia for about 10 seconds, then became a dark screen, then back to the insignia. It did this repeated flashing for a good ten minutes. I then took it off the charger and the phone stopped flashing and it became totally dead. I tried pressing the home button, and the top button, but there was no effect. I then plugged in my Iphone to the computer and put it into recovery mode. I tried to restore it, but it continually keeps getting an error (21). I tried it on a different computer, will not restore, but got a different error (I believe it was the error (1604)). I tried restoring it multiple times, I updated my Itunes to the latest version, I made sure my connection was well. I tried taking my Iphone off of recovery mode, but it did not work.
I suspect that my problems are due to the fact that my Iphone will not stay on without being connected to a power source, and that is the reason for all the errors. I tried it on different USB ports and different computers. Please correct me if I am wrong, and please help me figure out what I should do next. I do not mind losing all my contacts, but I do mind if I have to spend money on a new phone, afterall, I barely even had this phone for a year.
So Please, I am begging. Please help me and tell me why doesn't my phone stay on without being connected? Is it because I fell asleep while facetiming and because neither of us hung up it over-heated and killed the battery? Is there an easy way to fix this since I am technologically-impaired? Is there any hope for me and my Iphone's future?
Any answer will be very much appreciated.
Thank You.It sounds to me like you either got defective parts or otherwise did not make the repair correctly. We cannot help with self-repairs here, the iPhone officially not user servicable, but you can ask for advice in the forums on ifixit.com, a site which is dedicated to those attempting their own repairs.

Transitions will not load - PLEASE HELP!!
I've been dealing with this for some time ... when I'm in the edit window and click on transitions, they will not load. I've spent a lot of time online with support and got only temporary use of transitions. The first time I visited support, the tech was able to take control of my computer and get them working. That lasted for a few days, then they quit working again. I went back to support and a different tech didn't get me all the way through the process, and ended the session after telling me to remove and reinstall, which I did (again). Still, there is no functionality of transitions. They appear to be loading, but I've waited up to 30 minutes before I've clicked out. Please, can someone help me out?
The red lines that Steve was referring to, are when you drag your Clips to the Timeline, prior to doing any editing.
It is natural for red lines to appear above Clips, when any overlay, or Effects are added to the Clips, such as a Title, a Transition, or any parameter/Keyframing done to the Clip. That indicates that for smoothest playback, one would want to Render the Clips (or Timeline), for the best playback.
Having an HP, I would go to HP's Web site, and check for a newer video driver.
Steve's question on the screen resolution is a good one, as to get the full display of the GUI, there is a minimum screen resolution.

Imove will not finish exporting help...
Imovie stops when exporting to HD in imovie. I have plenty hard drive space. Just in the last two minutes. Other projects work fine when exporting..
my issue is a little different. I just got back from a big trip so I had a lot of HD footage. Had to stop importing due to not having enough space. I moved all other movies to an External hard drive but I still only have 2G left of space. It will not allow me to export all the already edited movie footage stating the same thing. Not enough space even on the external hard drive. If I get tetra external drive will this solve my problem or am I doing something wrong?
I have IMovie 08, Macbook does not burn DVD's have to use external DVD burner and Toast Titanium. I currently can not even upgrade my computer with updates because there is no space. I do not want to lose what I already edited. What is the best solution for me? -

Could be many things, we should start with this...
"Try Disk Utility
1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.
2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)
Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.

5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
Then, hold the Option key down when trying to open iPhoto, does it ask where it's Library is? Or what exactly happens?
