Clob Handling In WebLogic 6.0 with SP1

In Weblogic V5.10sp8
I have a block of code that looks up a very large clob and appends some
text to the end of it and
writes the new larger clob back to the same row same column.
part of the code looks like this.
char[] buffer = this.getBuffer():
java.sql.ResultSet rs = this.getResultSet();
oracle.sql.CLOB myClob =
(oracle.sql.CLOB)rs.getClob("file_content");
myClob.putChars( myClob.length() + 1, buffer);
We are moving to Weblogic V6.0sp1.
The getClob method on a ResultSet now returns a
weblogic.jdbc.oci.Clob which does not have a putChars method.
The best it has is getCharacterOutputStream() method
that returns a java.io.Writer which only allows me to write to the
beginning of the clob.
Question:
In Weblogic V6 how can I get a reference to a huge Clob in the database,
and just write
a little be of text to the end of it, without moving the whole thing
over the wire, twice.
Thanks.
John Xu.

this is a slight correction
and a second plea for help

here is the full method that used to work in Weblogic 5.1 sp8
in Weblogic 6.0 sp1 it now throws a ClassCastException saying
you can't cast weblogic.jdbc.rmi.SerialClob to a oracle.sql.CLOB.
I need access to the putChars method on the oracle.sql.CLOB
to write to the end of the Clob

  • How to deploy the war file in weblogic 6.0 with sp1?

    I write a jap and a web.xml files and also pack these files into a war file.
              When I use the console to deploy the war, the console think the war is a
              application, not web application.
              I attach the test.war.
              [test.war]

    change your web-inf directory name to WEB-INF. This should fix your problem.

  • Authentication handling in WebLogic 8.1 SP 4

    I have a servlet, MyServlet, running in WebLogic 8.1 SP 4 that creates another server in the init() method that listens for incoming connections on a different port than WebLogic's 7001; let's say it listens to port 5000. This server is similar to the O'Reilly's DaemonHttpServlet (http://www.stanford.edu/group/coursework/docsTech/oreilly/com.oreilly.servlet.DaemonHttpServlet.html); I'll refer to this server as HttpServer.
    I created a security realm for MyServlet for Basic authentication. So if a client wants to go to MyServlet it has to authenticate itself using Basic authentication. This all works fine! However, at this point HttpServer that listens port 5000 is not part of the mentioned realm according to WebLogic. For MyServlet WebLogic takes care of the whole authentication process, that is, the initial request to MyServlet and the following response containing the Basic challenge are not going through MyServlet but are handled by WebLogic.
    As the client (user agent) does not know that HttpServer is part of the same realm (as I would like it to be), it will not send its credentials that it used to logon to MyServlet to authenticate itself to HttpServer, because the URL is different at the port part of the URL.
    I would like to mimic that HttpServer IS part of the same realm MyServlet is in, but I don't want to hardcode the response saying it needs to be a certain specific realm. How can I query User, Group, Realm information stored in WebLogic? Are there MBeans I should look at? Can I use JAAS to hook into WebLogic somehow? Can I use JAAS to handle the Base64-encoded username-password to the Basic challenge send in the HTTP request?

    Hi:
    I am confused about something, I am running weblogic 8.1 SP4 on the [sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-480R] box and trying to deploy a normal webapp. It took like 2 minutes to finish deployment (nothing else was running on the box). however if I deploy the same webapp onto my laptop, it is really quick (<30secs).
    I thought it might be the problem with that particular un box. So I tried to deploy the same webapp onto another sun box - [sun4u sparc SUNW,Sun-Fire-V240]. The results were the same (over 2minutes).
    Can anybody shed some lights on why this is happening?
    Thank you very much!Have You checked the XML-switches ?
    (web.xml/weblogic.xml/keepgenerate/precompile)
    How ist the "Staging Mode" (nostage) of Your application ?

  • Empty Weblogic Server 8.1 SP1 Repeating Stack Trace

    Thanks in advance for any help and attention!
              An instance of Weblogic 8.1 SP1 on our UAT environment keeps on spitting out stack traces even though the only user accessing WL is via the admin console. There are no applications deployed on this platform.
              The stack trace is also intermittent and can't be attributed to a specific action. This is occuring on our UAT environment and on a WL install which is a copy of our production environment. But we don't get these stack traces on production??

  • Weblogic Server 8.1 SP1 bug?

    Hello,
              I have a problem when using XML JSP in combination with Struts tags, allthough I have the feeling that any other TLD will have the same problem.
              The <html:link page="http://www.home.nl">Home</html:link>
              is not rendered properly by WL. The result is:
              <a href="/ipmtoolhttp://www.home.nl"></a>
              Note the fact that the text 'Home' is missing in the anchor. This makes the link 'unclickable' in the browser.
              I have tested this code on Tomcat 5.0.27 as well and there the code renders properly.
              I think its a bug. The question is, has it been solved in SP2 or SP3?
              Below is the complete source:

  • Using WebLogic JMS Wrappers with Spring

    Hi,
    I was just wondering if anyone used WebLogic JMS wrappers with Spring?
    I am using WebLogic configured to have Sonic as my Foreign JNDI Provider. Weblogic provide me with specific entries on the admin console to set information such as the JNDI name of the Sonic Connection Factory. If I specify this JNDI name in the Spring config, and call getConnection() then I will get back a new connection each time.
    I don't want this, I want to cache the connection (as connections are expensive in Sonic). This is where the WebLogic JMS wrappers come in, they can handle the pooling for me but the only way I can see to use them is via a resource-ref. It is possible for Spring to get a handle onto these wrappers or should I use Spring's own pooling mechanism instead?
    P.S. I've also asked this question on the Spring forum
    Thanks for any help
    Mandy

    Maybe you have already tried the following:
    <beans xmlns:jee="http://www.springframework.org/schema/jee" ... >
    <jee:jndi-lookup id="connectionFactory" jndi-name="jms.ConnectionFactory">
    <jee:environment>
    java.naming.factory.initial=weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory
    java.naming.provider.url=t3://localhost:7001
    </jee:environment>
    </jee:jndi-lookup>
    </beans>
    an alternative is to use the JNDI template
    <beans ... >
    <bean id="jndiTemplate" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiTemplate">
    <property name="environment">
    <props>
    <prop key="java.naming.factory.initial">weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory</prop>
    <prop key="java.naming.provider.url">t3://localhost:7001</prop>
    </props>
    </property>
    </bean>
    <bean id="connectionFactory" class="org.springframework.jndi.JndiObjectFactoryBean">
    <property name="jndiTemplate" ref="jndiTemplate" />
    <property name="jndiName"><value>jms.ConnectionFactory</value></property>
    </bean>
    </beans>

  • Weblogic core dumps with "SIGBUS    10*  bus error"

    I am getting a core dump when starting up my WL server. It seems to be
    timing related. The WL startup class is causing the error.
    The error does not occur if I do not deploy any EJBs. If I deploy one EJB
    the error occurrs. If I deploy two or more EJBs the error does not occur.
    The startup class is accessing the database.
    Has anyone seen a similar error or know of a solution. Is this a supported
    platform?
    Environment info and the error dump follow. Thanks in advance.

    Abort (core dumped)

    Weblogic does not dump core. The Java virtual machine does.
    As for your problem, I would be willing to bet that this is a 122_05a
    JVM. I would recommend downgrading to the versions that we certify.
    The platform support page for WebLogic Server is located at:
    http://www.weblogic.com/docs51/platforms/index.html
    This page has the latest and greatest information on the platforms that
    WebLogic is certified and supported on.

  • WLI V2.1 install error: WebLogic Server 6.1 SP1 is not installed.

    Hi,
    FYI
    I installed WLS 6.1 and then Service Pack 1 (separately).
    I then installed WLI V2.1 and got the error.
    WebLogic Server 6.1 SP1 is not installed.
    This is on Windows NT.
    The problem was due to the registry.xml file being empty of content. Thus the
    install did not know where the WLS 6.1 SP1 was. The Service Pack 1 for WLS 6.1
    emptied this file, incorrectly.
    I think if you download and install WLS 6.1 Service Pack 1 in one install and
    not separately the emptying of the registry.xml does not occur.
    To get around the problem, I got BEa Support to send me a registry.xml and I edited
    it to be my own machine and BEA_HOME directory. The WLI V2.1 install then worked.(Not
    the safest solution but it worked!)

    Hi ,
    Installed OBIA & related components in the following Order
    OS: Windows-2008 R2
    OBIA: 11.1.17.1

    5. Installing Oracle BI Application(11.1.1.7.1) using JDK 7 Update 21 for 64 Bits(ie jdk-7u21-windows-x64)
    The installer running for all most 3 Hours, No Progress in the (Showing 0% Progress) and Copying.....
    We have doubted JDK/JRE version, So Cancelled installation.
    Without uninstalling the JDK7, We installed JDK 6 with 45 Updates(ie.jdk-6u45-windows-i586) into different folder.
    Attempted to re-install the OBA 11g by specifying the JDK6 update 45 Path._
    We get the error error INST-07515: oracle.bi.bishiphome is not found.
    Right now, we are struck, no idea how to proceed further.
    Forum support is required to resolve this hurdle.

  • How to handle Chinese on WL 6.0 sp1

              Hi all,
              I got a strange experience when i'm trying to handle chinese character in
              JPS. I wrote a simple JSP (test.jsp) performing "FORM POST" to see whether i can
              get the "right" chinese character after FORM POST. The program is written as below:
              <%@ page info="test page" session="true" buffer="1024kb"
                   import="java.sql.*, java.util.*, java.lang.*" %>
              <%
              response.setContentType("text/html; charset=UTF-8");
              try {
                   String s1a = request.getParameter("field1");
                   String s2a = request.getParameter("field2");
              %>
              <HTML>
              <HEAD>
              <TITLE>DUMMY No. 1 ^.^ </TITLE>
              </HEAD>
              <BODY>
              <BR>~~FORM POST TESTING~~<BR>
              <FORM name="frm1" action="test.jsp" method="post">
              Field 1: <INPUT type="text" name="field1"><BR>
              Field 2: <INPUT type="text" name="field2"><BR>
              <INPUT type="submit"><BR>
              </FORM>
              <%=s1a%> || <%=s2a%>
              </BODY>
              </HTML>
              <% } catch (Exception e) {
                   out.println("Error : " + e.getMessage());
              %>
              Everytime when i entered a chinese character, i got some strange character
              or even nothing after FORM POST. Do you know why or could you advise me how to
              fix it? I'm using Window 2000 professional english version, default locale is
              Hong Kong, and WebLogic 6.0sp1.
              Thanks in advance.

  • OSD with SP1 CU1 captured Win7 failed to deploy after R2 CU1 Update

    Hi guys,
    quick question. We currently trying to deploy an Image as i said in the title. The Win7 has been captured with SP1 CU1 an we tried to install the R2 Client during OSD TS. This steps seems is the last that is executed in the TS after that, the TS Fails
    with error: "Failed to create instance for IMTCTokenHandler interface, hr=0x8007005". Any suggestions ??
    Thanks guys....

    In our case it is something related to the WinPE. If we use the version 5.0 (6.3.9600.16384) shipped with R2 the task sequence continues normally. If we change it back to the version 4.0 (6.2.9200.16384) the TS dies with the error from above. Here are some
    more detailed log entries:

  • Weblogic Platform 8.1 SP1

    Hi!
    I have just received the Weblogic Platform SP1 CD from BEA and I see on
    the website that there SP2 is out already. The question is, SP2 is
    available as a separate download or only with the whole Platform?
    Thanks!
    Regards,

    Yes Michael, The latest WebLogic Platform 8.1 GA does contain WLS 8.1 sp1.
    The server log does contain this information too.

  • Unable to get SQL Server Agent to run after installing SQL 2012 Standard with SP1

    I am unable to get SQL Server Agent to run after installing SQL 2012 Standard with SP1. Log message is as follows:
    Attempting to load library 'xplog70.dll' into memory. This is an informational message only. No user action is required.
    Failed to verify Authenticode signature on DLL 'C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSSQL11.MSSQLSERVER\MSSQL\Binn\xplog70.dll'.
    Error: 17750, Severity: 16, State: 0.
    Could not load the DLL xplog70.dll, or one of the DLLs it references. Reason: (null).

    Hi JFriedley,
    According to your error message, there might three reasons for this issue.
    xplog70.dll is corrupt, you need to check if you have any SQL Server running on same file version and same production
     edition. If xplog70.dll is corrupt, you can copy it from the new server where agent is running fine to your problematic server.
    Native client not installed properly. If you try applying any latest Service Pack or Cumulative Update then check if the SQL Server Agent can start, if that also doesn’t solve issue then try to reinstalling SQL Server Native client from SQL Server setup
    files.
    There is a similar issue about error 17750, you can review the following article.
    http://blogs.lostincreativity.com/sqldba/sqlserver-error-17750-could-not-load-the-dll-xpstar90-dll/

  • Cannot install SharePoint 2013 with SP1 on server 2012 R2. IIS configuration error

    Hey Guys,
    I'm experiencing a problem which seems to be common considering the number of posts I've found about it, but none of the provided solutions worked for me.
    I'm simply trying to install SharePoint 2013 with SP1 on a Windows Server Standard 2012 R2.
    I've downloaded from the MS Volume Licensing website the "SharePoint Server 2013 with SP1" ISO file :  SW_DVD5_SharePoint_Server_2013w_SP1_64Bit_English_MLF_X19-36118. So
    this is the slipstreamed version which is supposed to bring compatibility with 2012 R2.
    As I do not have direct access to the Internet I need to perform an offline installation. I also downloaded all prerequisities. When I run prerequisiteinstaller.exe with the necessary arguments, I get the following :
    (Full log file is below)
    I've tried the following :
    - Restarted the server multiple times
    - Manually removing/adding IIS role + restart
    - Running the prerequisiteinstaller.exe from the DVD or from an extracted version
    - Manually installing the prerequisities
    - Installed .Net 3.5 as recommended here (http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/office/en-US/0b597d35-b02d-4236-894d-38efc0c7c6f6/sharepoint-2013-with-sp1-install-on-windows-server-2012-r2?forum=sharepointgeneral)
    None of the worked. So I'm stuck and I must completed the installation of this before the end of the week for an important project !
    Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you guys for the quick answer! Muche appreciated
    I've tried all suggested solutions, but no luck :-(
    - tried http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2765260 > no help and by the way the hotfix provided is not applicable for 2012 R2.
    also tried "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regii -enable -i" and got this :
    Microsoft (R) ASP.NET RegIIS version 4.0.30319.33440Administration utility to install and uninstall ASP.NET on the local machine.Copyright (C) Microsoft Corporation.  All rights reserved.Start installing ASP.NET (4.0.30319.33440).This option is not supported on this version of the operating system.  Administrators should instead install/uninstall ASP.NET 4.5 with IIS8 using the "Turn Windows Features On/Off" dialog,  the Server Manager management tool, or the dism.exe command line tool.  For more details please see http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkID=216771.Finished installing ASP.NET (4.0.30319.33440).

    For the automated install script (http://gallery.technet.microsoft.com/office/DownloadInstall-SharePoint-e6df9eb8) Craig mentions that the script are not yet compatible
    "SharePoint 2013 SP1 and Windows Server 2012 R2 support coming soon
     I will be updating this script with support for SharePoint 2013 Service Pack 1 installations along with support for Windows Server 2012 R2 in the near future. Thank you to everyone for the interest in my scripts - it is much appreciated! "

  • SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with SP1 on Windows Server 2012??????? What am I missing?

    Hi there,
    As per MS - SharePoint 2013 Enterprise SP1 is compatible with Windows Server 2012 R2.
    I have Windows Server 2012 R2 installed - now it does not let me install SharePoint 2013 Enterprise (Standard without SP1).
    AND SP1 can ONLY be installed AFTER SharePoint 2013 Enterprise is installed.
    So how to install SharePoint 2013 Enterprise with SP1 on Windows Server 2012?
    Thanks.

    You can download it at the Microsoft Volume Licensing Service Center:
    https://www.microsoft.com/Licensing/servicecenter/default.aspx
    or at the Microsoft Developer Network:
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/
    Please note that if you do not have access to either, you will have to work with the vendor who sold you SharePoint 2013 to get you a new ISO with SP1, or you will have to find a way to make a slipstreamed version on your own.  I'm really hoping you
    have VLSC or MSDN access, as this will make things much easier for you.
