Clone enity object, so I can change one field

Can you lock a record in BC4J and copy as an insert it with new changes? For example, if I have an order record (order entity object that is equivalent to one record in the database) to be copied so the old record can be save for historical purposes and a field in the copied record can be modified.

You could adopt a technique similar to the one I describe in this "Dive into BC4J" web log posting...
http://radio.weblogs.com/0118231/2003/08/07.html
You could do something similar at entity level by creating a new entity instance using EntityDefImpl.createInstance(), then copying the attributes from the old to the new with a similar bit of code.

What i want to do now is create a second jsp page where an adminstrator can change the value of the last field for any paticular row. whether this info should be displayed in a form or table i dont know.thinking about it maybe i can populate a form with an individual DB row with the option of changing the last field in the form. does this sound like it might work or has no one got a clue what i am talking about.

You can purchase an upgrade, but the only options available as a qualifying previous product are CS5 and CS5 Extended and Acrobat X Suite.  It isn't entirely clear if CS5 also includes CS5.1 or not, so I'd suggest using the Chat Now button over at the side to clarify.
To get to this listing, you can go to www.adobe.com then click Search and type in Photoshop CS6 then click the Buy button next to Photoshop CS6 in the results Creative Suite 6 then edit your cart to make it an upgrade:
You can also choose the Extended version of PS CS6 which is more money and can additionally do things with video and sequences of images and maybe 3D, although I'm not exactly sure at this point since I already have PS-CS6 Extended as part of my CC Photography Plan PS-CC+LR for $10/month.

  • Should object be registered to change one statement of ABAP

    Hi,
I am not seeing why this would be so. I have a question about correction instruction.
The note 750322 describes certain blocks of code to be deleted and changed. there is correction instrcution 663840 for object RS_BCT_UPDATE_RULES_MD_0PLANT.
When I checked my ABAP code form RS_BCT_UPDATE_RULES_MD_0PLANT on our system, I am getting some differences:
    For example:
    Code on my system is
    E_MONITOR-MSGID = 'RS_BW_BCT_RPA_MSG'.
    E_MONITOR-MSGTY = 'W'.
    E_MONITOR-MSGNO = 501.
    E_MONITOR-MSGV1 = i_plant.
    E_MONITOR-MSGV2 = i_salesorg.
    e_subrc = 4.
Code suggested from the note is
    E_MONITOR-MSGTY = 'W'.
    E_MONITOR-MSGNO = 501.
    E_MONITOR-MSGV1 = i_plant.
    E_MONITOR-MSGV2 = i_salesorg.
    e_subrc = 0.
    I see a difference of between the e_subrc = 0 and e-subrc = 4.
Should I apply this manually by registering the object to correct the e_subrc?
    Thanks

    Hi,
So you would agree that the note for the instruction correction was not applied and I should ask Basis to do this for me? I somehow have to justify clearly before I ask for their help.
    Thanks

  • How can change parameter field prompt template?

    Hello ,
I make a report by crystal report 10 and i use of parameter fields .I call my report in visual studio 2005 and run it on a asp page.when run the report page ,I look a prompt for parameter field that it has a default template .How can i change the parameter fields prompt template on my report page?
    Thank you.

To make the change permanent you need to use the same Folders submenu and select either Save ... or Save As.... I would recommend the latter and give the folder your own custom name as this then differentiates any changes from the seeded folders / other locations who might also be using this folder etc.
Thereafter, either your users will have to select the folder or (better) you can use the Administer Folders option in SysAdmin to default the folder to a particular responsibility or responsibilities.

  • HT204053 I have 2 apple ids and so now my iphone is on one account and my ipad is on the second account.  I was wondering how I can change my ipad to match my iphone so I can backup to iclouds together

I have an iphone and recently got an ipad2.  I have two apple ids, which I didn't know (or I created a new account when setting up).  So my question is this:  When setting up my ipad2 it is under one appleid and my iphone is under my other appleid.  Is there a way I can change one to match the other?  I would like to be able to share photos between the two and I can't unless they share the same icloud account, right?
    Any help is greatly appreciated

    Welcome to the Apple community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")

  • If I have a 10% Gross Margin formula can I change one task to calculate at 15%

I am working in MS Project 2010 Pro, I have set a column with a custom field to a 10% Gross Margin formula, is there a way I can change one task to a 15% Gross Margin formula?
I am also having a problem opening two project schedules at once, for some reason when I open the second schedule it's like I lose the schedule.
Thank you for all the help,
    Celia

    John,
I am trying the formula Rod suggested up in the thread:
    [Cost]*(1+[Number1]).
Now to edit the margin for individual tasks you just edit Number1.
    Thank you,

  • Can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports crashing on Linux :(

All I want to do, is to change one field's property from NUMBER to DATE in the property palette. It does not allow me to do it (not east like forms). I can not change the field property - 10gR2 reports keep crashing on Linux :(
I don't know if this is a Linux specific iDS issue, or a generic one.
What are the proper steps to change one field (in my query, the field name is ptime, it was defined as a number field originally, and now I need to change it to DATE and apply the proper format mask). The matching database field definition was modified from number to date.
    very frustrating...
    Any input is appreciated.

nop, did not change anything in the select statement at all. Just selected the related query under the data model (in the navigator), then selected the related query from within the property panel, connected to the db, then from the related navigor menu selected compile all, when the related query was highlighted (selected). Then I saved it, checked the groups, and bingo - the datatype was changed from number to date. Then I went to the related object under the page layout and applied the format mask (that was another funny story). And it worked. It is not as flexible as the forms for sure - pain in the a.. And I still don't know why Reports Builder keeps crashing on Linux - have no problems with Forms Developer on Linux at all. It is a certified RH platform with all the required libs, rpms, etc installed. I am certain it is not an installation issue. Maybe I should check Metalink and apply if an iDS 10gR2 patch exists for reports.

  • Can any one explain me about Field symbols in Genral Reports?

Can any one explain me about Field symbols in Genral Reports?
If possible, plz explain me with the code to explain me about the field symbols.
    Regards,
    Krishna Chaitanya

    Syntax
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <fs> { typing | STRUCTURE struc DEFAULT dobj }.
    Extras:
    1. ... typing
    2. ... STRUCTURE struc DEFAULT dobj
    Effect
The FIELD-SYMBOLS statement declares a field symbol <fs>. The naming conventions apply to the name fs. The angle brackets of the field symbols indicate the difference to data objects and are obligatory. You can declare field symbols in any procedure and in the global declaration section of an ABAP program, but not in the declaration section of a class or an interface. You can use a field symbol in any operand position in which it is visible and which match the typing defined using typing.
After its declaration, a field symbol is initial - that is, it does not reference a memory area. You have to assign a memory area to it (normally using the ASSIGN statement) before you can use it as an operand. Otherwise an exception will be triggered.
    Addition 1
    ... typing
    Effect
You can use the addition typing to type the field symbol. The syntax of typing is described under Syntax of Typing. The typing specifies which memory areas can be assigned to the field symbol (see Checking the Typing) and in which operand positions it can be used.
    Note
You can omit the addition typing outside of methods. In this case, the field symbol has the complete generic type any and is implicitly assigned the predefined constant space during the declaration.
    Addition 2
    ... STRUCTURE struc DEFAULT dobj
    Effect
If you specify the addition STRUCTURE instead of typing for a field symbol, and struc is a local program structure (a data object, not a data type) or a flat structure from the ABAP Dictionary, this structure is cast for the field symbol <fs>. You have to specify a data object dobj that is initially assigned to the field symbol.
The field symbol copies the technical attributes of structure struc as if it were completely typed. When you assign a data object using the addition DEFAULT, or later using ASSIGN, its complete data type is not checked in non- Unicode programs. Instead, the system merely checks whether it has at least the length of the structure and its alignment.
In Unicode programs, we differentiate between structured and elementary data objects. For a structured data object dobj, its Unicode fragment view has to match the one of struc. In the case of an elementary data object, the object must be character-type and flat, and struc must be purely character-type. The same applies to assignments of data objects to field symbols typed using STRUCTURE when using the ASSIGN statement.
    Note
Field symbols declared using the addition STRUCTURE are a mixture of typed field symbols and a utility for casting structured data types. You should use the additions TYPE or LIKE for the FIELD-SYMBOLS statement to type field symbols, while the addition CASTING of the ASSIGN statement is used for casting.
    Example
The first example shows the obsolete usage of the addition STRUCTURE.
    DATA wa1 TYPE c LENGTH 512.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <scarr1> STRUCTURE scarr DEFAULT wa1.
    <scarr1>-carrid = '...'.
The second example shows the replacement of STRUCTURE with the additions TYPE and CASTING.
    DATA wa2 TYPE c LENGTH 512.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <scarr2> TYPE scarr.
    ASSIGN wa2 TO <scarr2> CASTING.
    <scarr2>-carrid = '...'.
    Also,
    Field Symbols
Field symbols are placeholders or symbolic names for other fields. They do not physically reserve space for a field, but point to its contents. A field symbol cam point to any data object. The data object to which a field symbol points is assigned to it after it has been declared in the program.
Whenever you address a field symbol in a program, you are addressing the field that is assigned to the field symbol. After successful assignment, there is no difference in ABAP whether you reference the field symbol or the field itself. You must assign a field to each field symbol before you can address the latter in programs.
Field symbols are similar to dereferenced pointers in C (that is, pointers to which the content operator * is applied). However, the only real equivalent of pointers in ABAP, that is, variables that contain a memory address (reference) and that can be used without the contents operator, are reference variables in ABAP Objects.
All operations programmed with field symbols are applied to the field assigned to it. For example, a MOVE statement between two field symbols moves the contents of the field assigned to the first field symbol to the field assigned to the second field symbol. The field symbols themselves point to the same fields after the MOVE statement as they did before.
You can create field symbols either without or with type specifications. If you do not specify a type, the field symbol inherits all of the technical attributes of the field assigned to it. If you do specify a type, the system checks the compatibility of the field symbol and the field you are assigning to it during the ASSIGN statement.
Field symbols provide greater flexibility when you address data objects:
If you want to process sections of fields, you can specify the offset and length of the field dynamically.
You can assign one field symbol to another, which allows you to address parts of fields.
Assignments to field symbols may extend beyond field boundaries. This allows you to address regular sequences of fields in memory efficiently.
You can also force a field symbol to take different technical attributes from those of the field assigned to it.
The flexibility of field symbols provides elegant solutions to certain problems. On the other hand, it does mean that errors can easily occur. Since fields are not assigned to field symbols until runtime, the effectiveness of syntax and security checks is very limited for operations involving field symbols. This can lead to runtime errors or incorrect data assignments.
While runtime errors indicate an obvious problem, incorrect data assignments are dangerous because they can be very difficult to detect. For this reason, you should only use field symbols if you cannot achieve the same result using other ABAP statements.
For example, you may want to process part of a string where the offset and length depend on the contents of the field. You could use field symbols in this case. However, since the MOVE statement also supports variable offset and length specifications, you should use it instead. The MOVE statement (with your own auxiliary variables if required) is much safer than using field symbols, since it cannot address memory beyond the boundary of a field. However, field symbols may improve performance in some cases.

The syntax check performed in an ABAP Objects context is stricter than in other ABAP areas. See Cannot Use Untyped Field Symbols ad Cannot Use Field Symbols as Components of Classes.
    Effect
This statement declares a symbolic field called <fs>. At runtime, you can assign a concrete field to the field symbol using ASSIGN. All operations performed with the field symbol then directly affect the field assigned to it.
You can only use one of the additions.
    Example
Output aircraft type from the table SFLIGHT using a field symbol:
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <PT> TYPE ANY.
    DATA SFLIGHT_WA TYPE SFLIGHT.
    ASSIGN SFLIGHT_WA-PLANETYPE TO <PT>.
    WRITE <PT>.

    ... TYPE LINE OF type
    Addition 5
    ... LIKE s
    Addition 6
    ... LIKE LINE OF s
    Addition 7
    ... TYPE tabkind
    Effect
You can define the type of the field symbol using additions 2 to 7 (just as you can for FORM parameters (compare Defining the Type of Subroutine Parameters). When you use the ASSIGN statement, the system carries out the same type checks as for USING parameters of FORMs.
This addition is not allowed in an ABAP Objects context. See Cannot Use Obsolete Casting for FIELD SYMBOLS.
In some cases, the syntax rules that apply to Unicode programs are different than those for non-Unicode programs. See Defining Types Using STRUCTURE.
    Effect
Assigns any (internal) field string or structure to the field symbol from the ABAP Dictionary (s). All fields of the structure can be addressed by name: <fs>-fieldname. The structured field symbol points initially to the work area wa specified after DEFAULT.
The work area wa must be at least as long as the structure s. If s contains fields of the type I or F, wa should have the structure s or at least begin in that way, since otherwise alignment problems may occur.
    Example
Address components of the flight bookings table SBOOK using a field symbol:
    DATA SBOOK_WA LIKE SBOOK.
    FIELD-SYMBOLS <SB> STRUCTURE SBOOK
    DEFAULT SBOOK_WA.
    WRITE: <SB>-BOOKID, <SB>-FLDATE.

  • Array of String. Can some one please respond?

In Java,Strings are considered as objects of type String.Even String constants are considered
    as String objects.Right?
So if I define an array of string as:
    public class ArrayString
    public static void main(String args[])
    String str[] = {"one", "two", "three"};
Isn't this the same as saying that we are defining an array of objects , as strings are basically
    objects.
So why this diffirentiation between array of Strings and array of objects?
    Please can any one respond.

A String is an Object. It extends from java.lang.Object.
What is the difference between an array of Strings and an array of Objects? If you declare an array
    Object[] myObjectArray = {"Hello", "World"};
    and an array
    String[] myStringArray = {"Hello", "World");
the main difference is that you can stick any object into the first array and it would be legal. An attempt to put anything but a String into the second would result in an error.
So why not use ONLY object arrays, you ask? Well if you had a method that got passed an array of objects, how would you know what you have? You wouldn't know what methods you could call, what variables were stored. However, if you received a Vector[], you'd know you could call methods included in the Vector class.

Please advise how i can change PR field values which are coming from EBP system.
    Regards,
    Kamaljit

    Hi
Which R/3 version are you using ?
Alternatively, you try do the following.
<u>Execute ME52N Transaction for any of the Purchase Requistion number.Try changing the Text, UOM, price, etc using ME52N Transaction. Are you getting any error/warning message there ? Either it can also due to Missing BASIS authorization as well. In the same session, type /nSU53 transaction in the command menu on top left corner of the SAP R/3 screen.
Incase there is any authorization object missing, it will display the details on that in that transaction. Ask you BASIS person, to provide authorization access, by giving him the screen shot details of SU53 transaction.</u>
<u>Seems to be a bug in your R/3 system, which might be solved with any OSS note. Have you raised any OSS message with SAP yet on this issue. ? If the above solution does not work , try raising the same as well.</u>
    Hope this will help.
Please reward full points, incase it suits your requirements.

  • E-recruiting: Requisition management - Possible to change the field names??

    Hi to all e-recruiting experts,
Need some assistance pertaining to the requisition management portion in e-recruiting.
We have showed the standard SAP E-recruiting requisition bsp pages to our client and they have requested changes to the field names as they feel that the standard names are not intuitive enough.
    For instance,
The field - "Hierarchy Level" - They have requested to change to "Job Grade"
and the field "Functional Area"  to "Type of Work".
Is there any way that i can change the name of the field through configurations?
I understand that in a infotype, we can change the field name through translation. But can we change it in BSP? I was told to explore on how to configure via OTR.
Can anyone share on the steps involved?
    Many thanks in advance.

    Well quite easy,
create a context for an otr text (E-Recruiting are in package PAOC_RCF_UI). You will find that in SOTR_EDIT.
Activate this context with implementing BADI BTFR_CONTEXT.
After doing this, adjust context in SOTR_EDIT with Go To -> Context -> Adjust.
Eventually refresh otr buffer with Transaction /$otr
For one text there can be more than one OTR Text in backend, so you might change more than one.

  • HOW CAN I SEND FIELD SYMBOL TO SUBROUTINE

    HAI,
HOW CAN I SEND FIELD SYMBOL TO SUBROUTINE
HOW CAN I COME BACK FROM 5TH INTERACTIVE REROT TO 2ND
    INTERACTIVE REPORT.
    THANK YOU.
    ASHOK

    Hi
Write some code in the program to come to 2nd list from 5th list
    if sy-lsind = 5.
       sy-lsind = 2.
    endif.
for field symbols see the doc
