Updating fields when changing one field in runtime

i have an hr (human resource) database tables
and i build a from to query about the employee_id
and view all details of the employee in one data block
and another data block tabuler view the jop history of this employee
i want when i change the department of the employee
the jop history updated and i can see the new jop in the jop history view with the new date
in the start date and the old jop terminated in the end date with the new date
the structure as the folowing
Employee_details
employee id---- employee name-----------
jop titel----- department----
jop_history
start_date end_date jop_title Department ckeckbox
i want to when updating department the jop title in the same block
and the jop history automatic ad an new row with the new jop its start date the day date
and the previuos jop ended with the same date
and front of the current jop the checked box is checked

Unfortunatey i havent started yet. I have so far created a servlet which accesses a mysql DB passes the results to a jsp page and displays them in a table. This works fine. What i want to do now is create a second jsp page where an adminstrator can change the value of the last field for any paticular row. whether this info should be displayed in a form or table i dont know.thinking about it maybe i can populate a form with an individual DB row with the option of changing the last field in the form. does this sound like it might work or has no one got a clue what i am talking about.

To Restrict fields when change posted SC

Hello,
Is there any way to restrict fields when change posted SC ? currently if SC already approved by 3 manager and waiting for the last manager for approval then the requestor change any fields in the SC, the approval flow will be reset from the beginning.
Is there any way to restrict some fields so whatever changes on these field will not reset existing approval ?
Fyi, we're using SRM 4.0

Hi,
To disable changing the SC by the requester durng any level of approval,you can set the value for the parameter "BBP_WFL_SECURITY" in SU01(under personalization tab) for the requester user.
Also based on the value of this paramtere you can also define whether the workflow for approval should be restarted in case of any chnage in the SC.

ALE: mapping IDoc fields to change document fields - TBD22 for ADRMAS iDoc

Hi,
I am currently try to find a table or way to extract the information of the TBD22 table (ALE: mapping IDoc fields to change document fields) for the iDocs/ Message Types:
ADRMAS
INTERNAL_ORDER
PROJECT
I am looking for a table that shows me to which SAP R/3 tables and fields the segments and fields of the above mentioned messages will be mapped to.
When I add one of the above mentioned message types to the table TBD22 selection criteria I always receive the notification: "No table entries found for specific key".
Could anybody determine Which table I have to use or why I cannot extract this information?

Hi,
Since we can not map the target IDOC when any of the field changes using nodefunctions , you can write UDF and check the same i.e if field1 changes or field2 changes or field3 changes then trigger new IDoc. This is one of the options that you can try...please try it once.

Not able to see Metadata fields when adding the fields to the rule even after creating them in information fields of configuration manager.It is happening for few fields only.We are using 10.1.3 version of UCM.Kindly provide a solution if any.

On this document, if you look at page# 14 thru 17, it has the steps I described in my original note with customs code still appearing in the drop down for 'EXCPT' for EAR.
Nevertheless, I wanted to default Type = C50 when the license type for the line on the Customs declaration is 'EXCPT' but if you see the very last screen-shot below, even though the license type configuration has default value as 'C50' it did not get pulled into the line item Documents tab when I tried to pick the category as 'CUII'.
Let me know your thoughts on defaulting the data into Customs declaration for AES filing.
What I want to achieve is the following:
When License type is 'EXCPT', system should default the type as 'C50'
Should put the License type 'EXCPT' into the number field
Should put the actual License# 'ENC' into the Supplement field
Should put the ECCN # '5A002' into the Details field

Function Module for updating Username( last changed by field)-

Do we have any standard RFC function modules/BAPI available for updating a field in R/3 ( for eg:"last changed by field" of an item of a notification(plant maintenance).
As the FM is an RFC FM, it always updates this field with the RFC user name.My requirement is to update this field by a value(user name) which is either keyed in in the FM or an SAP login name.
This requirement is for a scenario in the mobile application as I need to update the notification item details by the user(mobile user- the mobile user name is available in R/3 also.) who is updating the notification item in the mobile.When synchronisation is done ,the filed gets updated by the RFC username which is used to exceute the BAPI wrapper..
Do we have an option to change the user name?

READ_TEXT_INLINE-Like READ_TEXT. In addition, it passes the first few text lines to a second lines table.
EDIT_TEXT_INLINE-----Merges the inline lines with the other text lines and calls the text editor.

How to get Safari to suggest passwords when only one field is present?

Safari works great when there are two fields to enter a password - a password field followed by a "confirm password" field - but doesn't seem to work when there is only one field to enter a new password. Any suggestions?

write a conversion method to parse this input to seltab like
    clear ls_seltab.
    ls_seltab-sign = 'I'.
    if lv_value cs '*'.
      li_lng = sy-fdpos.
      ls_seltab-option = 'BT'.
    else.
      ls_seltab-option = 'EQ'.
      ls_seltab-low    = lv_value.
    endif.
use your seltab to retrieve data from the table.
In anyway.. you can search resources in this direction to build your solution.

Automatically update a 'Last Updated By' field when changes are made a database record.

Basically I'm building a database app using mySQL and PHP.
I'm from a design background, rather than a techie one, so I'm far
more comfortable using the DW and phpMyAdmin parts, but less so
with any code.
We want to have a 'Last Updated By' field that automatically
populates with whoever created or last edited a record.
What's the best way of achieving this?
I've looked at some mySQL stuff, but all looks a bit over my
head to be honest. Have a table of Users in phpMyAdmin - not one as
part of the database, but under privileges - so where 'root' is,
plus another couple I've added.
In the web directory, I just have a standard connection file
that looks like :

Thanks David. That sounds about right - the last app I did
was an online photo library, and used the Log In stuff for that.
With this one, we want to track changes, as we'll follow the
progress of the developments from early info right through to
completion - hence last updated, and last updated by fields.
So I figured it should be do-able as an extension of the log
in stuff, ie pass the stored current user somewhere.
Regarding security - this is just a local app running on an
internal server, rather than out there in the wild.
To test it out, I've added a 'LastUpdatedBy' field to my
other app, and added in a hidden field in my update page :

Update table on change of field detected by javascript

Good afternoon HTML DBers.
I am not familiar with Javascript...and I think I will need it to solve the following problem...and so I have posted this request.
I have a multi line report with one updateable field in each row(a quantity field). When the user updates this field on any of the rows, I wish to update an oracle table with the new quantity value.
From my reading, I suspect that I may need some 'OnChange=' javascript to pick up when the field is updated.
Then I guess I would somehow set up a REQUEST value that I would identify in a process to do the UPDATE of the table.
But how do I send the unique key (the order number) of the row where the quantity value has been changed?

Forget javascript, Tony.
The MRU mechanism updates what needs to be updated provided you submit the page. Then, after updating the fields, you may branch to another page or reload the current one (by branching to the same page number).
Javascript works on the client side, your data is stored on the server side, so, in general, it's very hard to update the server side with client data unless you submit a form.
MRU works fine, don't be scared by the need of reloading the page.

I need to update function area in bseg table for existing records. How can i modify for that particular field without using update command. Is any BAPI is there for update document no. I have Lakhs records. So is any other way to modify that field.

I'm not sure it is advisable to perform, take a look at OSS [Note 966428 - FB02: Functional area (FKBER) can be changed on coding block|https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/966428],*this note seems to imply that this area should not be changed..
Look alsio to Customizing (SPRO) Financial Accounting, Financial Accounting Global Settings, Document, Line Item, Document Change Rules, Line Item.
Keep in mind that this field is replicated from FI line items to other applications and tables.
If you must perform this change at you own risk, you may build a huge batch-input based on FB02 or FB09 transactions. Another solution is to reverse the documents and then post again those documents with functional area.

MATLOC_SET() - Issues when changing alphanumeric fields

I want to enable planner to quickly change safety stock settings for advanced safety stock calculation and recalculate the safety stocks through a macro button in the planning book.
One part of this is to set the safety stock method. I am using the following code.

But it does not work. whenever I enter anything the field is set to zero.
I have tried the same code for the service level and other numeric fields and it works fine.
With other alphanumeric fields like ABC indicator it also does not work. This seems to be an issue with alphanumeric versus numeric fields, but I am not sure how to fix the error, because I can only find the operation MATLOC_SET() as an option to change product-location specific product master fields.

You can use the macro function:
SB_BETA_POINT() - for adv safety stock method BS.
SB_ALPHA_CYCLE()- for adv safety stock method AT
SB_ALPHA_POINT()- for adv safety stock method AS.
SB_BETA_CYCLE()- for adv safety stock method BT.
The syntax would be(if BS):
SB_BETA_POINT( service level ; demand forecast ; forecast error demand (%) ; replenishment lead time ; forecast error replenishment lead time (%) ; days' supply ) returns the safety stock level for the Beta service level according to the point method.
To get the values for Service level,: demand forecast ; forecast error demand (%) ; replenishment lead time ; forecast error replenishment lead time (%) ; days' supply you can use the the function MATLOC()
You can store the values of the fields in auxillary KF and then call these in SB_BETA_POINT()
The above method can be used to run interactively only and not in background.

How can I modify / update T002C's only one field

I would like to write dialog programing code. After I am writing call screen screennumber, I would like to generate a design in screen painter.But screen painter doesn't open. There is an error.
Error says ' EU_SCRP_WN32 : timeout during allocate / CPIC-CALL: 'ThSAPCMRCV'#' and I search about this error. I solve the problem. Solution is T002C table's secondary language field must be writing , not empty.
When I would like to update the field's of T002C tables sap is giving an error. Error is 'Table maintenance not allowed for table T002C'.
How can I modify the field's of table T002C?

dont know about the stock taking object but may be the grpo object would help
