Cloning Context File Error

Hello;
We have PROD EBS 12.1.3 on HPUX, APPS Tier and DB Tier on one server .... We will move the DB soon to RAC....
But first, we are trying to clone this PROD one to another UAT Server and decided to clone the context files first and save it as repository for future use...
We run the following to clone the DB Tier Context File using adclonectx.pl :

the script is running and the screen output shows errors and warnings like
Target System Port Pool [0-99] : RC-00201: Error: Not a valid port pool number
How Can I provide such argument "Port Pool Number" using pairsfile? because I didn't find any variable in the xml file which point to that argument.
And How we provide all other mandatory arguments so that we can run the adclonectx.pl in silent mode.
The same requirements for APPS Tier also ....

Cloning context file on db tier fails when run non-interactively

Hi all,
I have a problem where cloning the DB tier context file using adclonectx.pl non-interactively using a pairsfile and noprompt fails in certain circumstances and continually returns this error
Target System Port Pool [0-99] : RC-00201: Error: Not a valid port pool number
If we clone from prod or uat (which are on different nodes) to non-prod it works fine, if we clone from a different non-prod environment (on the same node) it fails.
We can run adclonectx.pl interactively with the same pairsfile and it works, so I copied all of the variables in the log into the pairsfile and ran it non-interactively and it failed with the same error.
My understanding is that adclonectx.pl uses the source DB context file and the pairsfile to create the new context file. I've tried cloning the context file non-interactively from several different non-prod envs with the same error, so I don't think it's specific to 1 source env.
It seems to want to prompt for the portpool when it's on the same node as the source environment.
EBS 12.1.3, DB 11.2.0.3 RAC 2 node on Oracle Linux 5.
I've raised 3-9540409031 : adclonectx.pl on db Tier errors with RC-00201 when run non-interactively using pairsfile - but haven't got an answer yet.
This is the pairsfile with everthing in it - generated from an interactive session that worked.

Any ideas, it's got 3 DBAs stumped...

That makes sense to me ... the pool parameter should be in the pairsfile, .. or in the parameters when calling it at command line
You can force the pool to be changed, even when you're on the same server. Actually, I would use different pools for any environment, different server or not. And, avoid the default pool as well. If you do it this way, one of the advantages is that you spot issues - like the one you have - much much earlier. In that case, you would need that extra parameter on every run.

OAM Context showing error when updating context file on 11i apps

When i am trying to update context file using OAM, i am getting following error.

Is the value "FNDFSP_dbora12" correct or it points to the source instance in case this is a cloned one? If the value is incorrect, please validate the entries in FND_NODES table (purge the table and run AutoConfig -- I believe you are familiar with the steps
Value of RRA: Service Prefix is FNDSP_ not FNDSP_dbora12.

Db context file creation for rac to single instance cloning

DOC ID: 559518.1 Section 6: RAC to Single Instance Cloning mentions that the context file creation should be done as in the case of Single Instance cloning

CR10 Dev JRC ReportSDKException Report location is not specified in the configuration file error

I'm trying to embed a simple report into a j2ee application running under BEA WebLogic(without
workshop)
using the standalone Java Reporting Component (JRC), but I'm getting the exception
shown below (along with my config and source).
I'm just wondering at the cause of the exception, because I can successfully deploy
this code to jboss.
I've tried moving the CrystalReportEngine-config.xml file everywhere, from the
/WEB-INF/classes/ folder
to the /WEB-INF/ folder to the /WEB-INF/lib/ folder.
I consulted the product documentation on the JRC and its tutorials but it has
me stumped.
I went through the BEA WebLogic Workshop tutorial, which worked for some reason,
but I'm looking to do all the coding manually without any of BEA's controls and
what not.
Any information would be GREATELY APPRECIATED!!!

Context Overflow Error while executing report from browser.

Hi All,
I am running one report from browser, the same report is running properly on backend.
But when I am running the same for long period (more than 2 months) it is giving me context overflow error.
I have also checked the value of parameter MaxCtxtSize on ITS and it is currently set to 5 MB.
Should I increased this value ??? ITS version is 6.20 - Standalone.
Pl guide me to solve this problem.

How adbldxml.pl creates the new database tier context file

We just completed database upgrade from 9.2.0.6 to 9.2.0.8 to 11gR2 for 11.5.10.2 financial (on Windows 2003).
Application seems working fine after upgrade, autoconfig on application and database tiers are all success, but I have an issue with adbldxml.pl.
I have tried to run adbldxml.pl after upgrade, I can not sync the <s_perl5lib> and <s_adperlprg> oa_var on context it created with oa_var I read from OAM.
On OAM PROD > AutoConfig > Environments > oa_environment:db_home, it read as,

By my understanding, adbldxml.pl should take shell (DB DOS) evn perl settings to create context file, but it never takes env settings.
I was wondering how does adbldxml.pl works? does it creates a context file by reading from database or take some templates or may be both? and eventually, how to solve the issue.

I did apply the TXK AUTOCONFIG AND TEMPLATES ROLLUP PATCH U (9535311), it was a success from adpatch.
I did apply the clone patches per Cloning Oracle Application Release 11i with Rapid Clone [ID 230672.1] 5. Apply the lastest Rapid Clone patches
I have completed a rapid clone into a test server and ran clone scripts on app tier and db tier, the cloned application works fine as I can tell.
I have tried (Autoconfig FAQ [ID 218089.1]), "I was instructed to change the value of the context variables s_adperlprg and s_perl5lib. How can I achieve that?"
on the test server by setting perl5lib to the location it should be, but I ran adautocfg.pl instead of adconfig.pl, did it make difference? my understanding that adautocfg.pl
will call adconfig.pl, are they interchangeable?
Can I run adconfig.pl with context=<the correct context file> will make difference?
adbldxml.pl is really stubborn, just won't bend.
Would you mind advice me which table(s) in database contains these variables, I understand that it is not a good idea to modify the data in database directly, just curious?

How to remove the old context files after upgrade to R12.1.1

Hi,
I upgraded 11.5.9 (DB 9.2.0.4) to 12.1.1 (DB 11.2.0.2).
In the Applications Manager under AutoConfig menu, I noticed that I have 4 context files: 2 for DB Tier and 2 for Apps Tier. Apparently two of them are old from the 11i system. How can delete them so I have two listed on this page. I need to add custom parameters. When I tried to do it, it errored out saying "Customization is not allowed on different versions of configuration files.".

Make sure none of the old context files are available on the servers (delete them), also make sure you have proper entries in the FND_NODES table.

What's on lines 1-7 of that file?
That code compiles fine for me on CF8 & CF9, so that's not where the error is.
You're not trying to compile it on any earlier version of CF than CF8 are you? The < and ++ operators are not valid prior to CF8. CFMX7 might see the < as a stray angle bracket, and get confused. I don't have CFMX7 running here to test the exact error that would produce, sorry.

Update Context File Manually

I am working on bringing up a 12.1.3 EBS VM Template instances on Amazon EC2 and one of the last steps in the MetaLink Doc ( 1205963.1) askes that I update the applications context file (see below)
How can I update these values manually since I am unable to logon to Oracle Applications and change these values?

The web entry point parameters in the Oracle E-Business Suite applications context file is now pointing to the private hostname. Since this host is not resolvable from the internet, you need to change the values for these variable as shown in the table below.
For eg: For a Web Entry Point URL : http://ec2-204-236-244-202.compute-1.amazonaws.com

PROTOOLS LE: end of file error (-39) MUST ESTABLISH NEW SESSIONS

i messed up big time...
saved my protools files to an external hard drive which was not set up as an audio drive. now i can't open any of my protools sessions. i get an "logic end-of-file error (-39)" message.
i have tried opening back up sessions, verified / repaired permissions, saved back to the original location on my internal drive....all sorts of things.
i have been importing the audio files into new sessions and arranging them, but this is really really time consuming, and frustrating, as many of the tracks are not "zero-lined".
if anyone has a solution for somehow extracting the session/setup information, that would be great.

In order to increase the max session, I would request you to set the following on your
context.properties.
context.global.sessionmgr.initArgs=maxSessions=2000,,timeOut=300,reap
Interval=150
Also, on the servlets.properties.
servlets.sessionmgr.initArgs=maxSessions=2000,timeOut=300,reapInterval=150
Note : Stop/start the server to take the new value.

Weblogic Server Switch over automatically due to too many open files error.

Hi,
I am facing problem in production environment. I am using Weblogic 8.1 SP4 application.
Weblogic Server automatically switch over every 3 weeks due to few reasons.
1. out of memorry error.
2. Too many open files error.
Please see my below portalserver. log files. Kindly provide some good solution to solve this problem.

I would want to know:
Can they do a "$ORACLE_HOME/bin/dmstool -dump" and
save/compress/send the results?
Are there any errors printed in the Apache error_log while this leak occurs?
The customer could/should re-check their TCP settings, especially the TCP time wait interval and generally follow the TCP settings recommended in Chapter 5 of the iAS Performance Guide for 9.0.2.
Is there anything else interesting/unusual about the site?

Creating context file

Hi All,
The context file is corrupted. Some entries in last portion is deleted from context file. I want to recreate the context file. Can i create the context file using adadmin utility? Please let me know the solution.

Reports_port is missing from the context file

We are facing the reports_port issue while upgrading from 11.5.10.2 to 12.1.1 with db 10.2.0.4
Attempting upload of Context file and templates to database...ERROR: InDbCtxFile.uploadCtx()

We are not able to proceed from this tep.
We can see reports_port under database context file, but it is missing from application context file.
We are doing the multiuser single server upgrade on HP-UX .
Tried the given solutions and still not able to overcome this.
