Update Context File Manually

I am working on bringing up a 12.1.3 EBS VM Template instances on Amazon EC2 and one of the last steps in the MetaLink Doc ( 1205963.1) askes that I update the applications context file (see below)
How can I update these values manually since I am unable to logon to Oracle Applications and change these values?
Thanks in advance!
The web entry point parameters in the Oracle E-Business Suite applications context file is now pointing to the private hostname. Since this host is not resolvable from the internet, you need to change the values for these variable as shown in the table below.
For eg: For a Web Entry Point URL : http://ec2-204-236-244-202.compute-1.amazonaws.com
Autoconfig Variable
s_login_page : http://ec2-204-236-244-202.compute-1.amazonaws.com/OA_HTML/AppsLogin
s_webentryhost : ec2-204-236-244-202
s_webentrydomain : compute1.amazonaws.com
s_active_webport 80
s_http_listen_parameter      80
s_https_listen_parameter 443

when I ran adautocfg I received the following errors. Any suggestions would be very helpfull
Thanks!

  • OAM Context showing error when updating context file on 11i apps

    HI,
When i am trying to update context file using OAM, i am getting following error.
Failed when writing Context Configuration files back to file system. Possible causes: An error occurred while attempting to establish an Applications File Server connection with the node FNDFSP_dbora12. There may be a network configuration problem, or the TNS listener on node FNDFSP_dbora12 may not be running. Please contact your system administrator. . However, you still can run AutoConfig and restart services to make sure these settings take effects.

    Sawwan,
What is the application release? OS?
    HP Unix
Has this ever worked? If yes, what changes have been done recently?
    This is cloned environment.
Do you have proper entry in the hosts file?
    yes
Is the application listener up and running? Can you view the concurrent requests log/output files? If not, please see (Note: 117012.1 - Troubleshooting the "Error Occurred While Attempting to Establish an Applications File Server Connection").
yes application listener is up and running.
Is the value "FNDFSP_dbora12" correct or it points to the source instance in case this is a cloned one? If the value is incorrect, please validate the entries in FND_NODES table (purge the table and run AutoConfig -- I believe you are familiar with the steps

  • Best way to update audio files in library

I have quite a few audio files in the library for a Captivate project.  I just modifed a bunch of them, and I am wondering the best way to update the library.
If I delete the files in the library, I lose all the links to which audio went with which slide.
If I go into each slide and replace the audio, that is more time consuming, and still a problem when the old audio file is still in the library
I don't see an option for directly replacing the audio in the library; if I put the new version (same name) it just adds it with a (2), i.e. audioclip and audioclip(2)
The update option does not give me what I need, unless I am missing something.  First of all, I am using both a Windows computer at the client site, and my own Mac, so the paths are different.  To use the update I would have to update the path for each audio file, which is more trouble that updating every file manually.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks.

    Hi there,
The recommended way is to go to that slide and import the slide audio again, new audio will replcae the old.
Once you have replaced all the audios, the audio files that are not in use in the project will still show up in Library.
You can get rid of all unused items from the library, by clicking on the icon for unused icon and then delete icon:
    Thanks.

  • 11.5.10.2 - java in APPL_TOP context file

I'm in progress of applying ATG RUP7 to several 11.5.10.2 installations. The "Technology Stack (TXK) Rollup Validation Report" asks me to update the JDK version on HTTP server node at least to a minimum JDK version of 1.5.0.
Note 304099.1 "Using J2SE Version 5.0 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i, Release 11.5.10" or Note 401561.1 "Using JDK Version 6 with Oracle E-Business Suite 11i, Releases 11.5.10" don't specify the autoconfig variables to be changed. And there are a lot of jdk and jre related varialbles in the APPL_TOP autoconfig context file.
To "update the JDK version on HTTP server node" I think I should change s_oajdktop and s_adovar_classpath, and perhaps s_adjvaprg should be changed, too.
What about the AF variables. Is the any additional procedure required to update java for the tools? (s_afjretop, s_adovar_afclasspath, s_afjvaprg)
What about the rest? Is there any reference manual of the contect files variables? I have not been able to find something on Metalink.
In adovars section I find s_oajretop and s_adovar_ldlib.
    In web_home s_weboh_java links to 1.3 jdk.
In tools_home we got references in s_tools_path and s_tools_java.
    In rapid_install there is s_jdktop and s_jretop.
Would be great if someone could help me understand the use of all these variables and the procedure to update them to current jdk's and jre's where possible. :)

So I may change all these references to jdk 5, apply the latest template rollup and run autoconfig and everything is fine? :)

    Hi Srini,
thx for your welcome and reply. I've checked Note 304099.1 again and it seems that someone accidently deleted most of the content there.
The index shows much more steps than explained in the main text and the links don't work. So I'll apply patch 4372996 now.
That note tells me to run an upgrade script before running autoconfig. I think that script is part of that patch. Is adpatch AD.I.7 running that script before running autoconfig or does someone know the name of that script as that part of the text is eleminated, too?
I would like to update to jdk 6, but as I would have to apply RUP 5 as a prereq for jdk 6 I will postpone that step after having applied RUP 7.
    Thx,
    Martin

  • Updating class file in deployed application in integrated Weblogic of Jdev

    Dear all,
The Jdeveloper I'm using is version : 11.1.2.1.0
When I deployed an application and then change the '.jspx' content and save, it will update the file in the deployed application in the integrated weblogic and everything works fine. (I can see the updated immediately without undeploy/deploy the application). When I updated a .java file, after compiling, it will shown the same message saying that the application on the integrated weblogic server is updated too, however, when I try clicking the page, it will show null pointer exception.
Just hope to ask if manually undeploy/deploy the whole application is needed after updating a .java (class) file or it's just some configuration issue?
    Thanks a lot!
    Andrew

    Hi,
I've tried to rebuild the whole working space but the exceptions are still exist. The error messages are pasted below for reference.
So to get the udpated .java (class) to work, I need to 'manually' click on the 'run' command to the task flow file and a 'undeploy -> deploy' process will be done by the jdeveloper (need to wait for a few minutes).
If no need to (undeploy->deploy), I think I can save many time a day. Anyway, Thanks for all repiles!

  • Create a new web application, how shall I update the file server.xml

    Hi,
I will create a new web application, i.e named newApp. Then I create a file structure as follows:
    - <server-root>/newApp
    - <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF
    - <server-root>/newApp/WEB-INF/classes
Then I must tell the server that I have created a new web application. Then I must update my file server.xml, How shall I do this and where in the file shall I type in the new information?
I use windows XP Pro, and Tomcat 4.1.27.
My server.xml file looks like below:

request.getRemoteHost() will return the String version of the

saveOnRestart: If true, all active sessions will be saved
to the Store when Catalina is shutdown, regardless of
other settings. All Sessions found in the Store will be
loaded on startup. Sessions past their expiration are
    ignored in both cases.
maxActiveSessions: If 0 or greater, having too many active
sessions will result in some being swapped out. minIdleSwap
limits this. -1 or 0 means unlimited sessions are allowed.
If it is not possible to swap sessions new sessions will
    be rejected.
This avoids thrashing when the site is highly active.
minIdleSwap: Sessions must be idle for at least this long
(in seconds) before they will be swapped out due to
    activity.
0 means sessions will almost always be swapped out after
use - this will be noticeably slow for your users.
maxIdleSwap: Sessions will be swapped out if idle for this
long (in seconds). If minIdleSwap is higher, then it will
override this. This isn't exact: it is checked periodically.
-1 means sessions won't be swapped out for this reason,
although they may be swapped out for maxActiveSessions.
If set to >= 0, guarantees that all sessions found in the
Store will be loaded on startup.
maxIdleBackup: Sessions will be backed up (saved to the Store,
but left in active memory) if idle for this long (in seconds),
and all sessions found in the Store will be loaded on startup.
If set to -1 sessions will not be backed up, 0 means they
should be backed up shortly after being used.
To clear sessions from the Store, set maxActiveSessions, maxIdleSwap,
and minIdleBackup all to -1, saveOnRestart to false, then restart
    Catalina.

To use servlets u have indeed to update your web.xml...Well I'm not sure this is relevant to your case anyway.
You have to add a <servlet> element to this file.
    Something like this:
    <servlet>
    <servlet-name>blabla</servlet-name>
    <servlet-class>blablapackage.Blablaclass</servlet-class>
    <init-param>...</init-param>
    </servlet>
Now this may not solve your problem. Make sure you refer to your servlets using their full qualified names.btw, just to be sure, what is your definition of "servlet"? (i mean: any java class or only javax.servlet.Servlet)

  • Update a file from WSP in several site collection based on my SiteDefinition

    Hi,
i have a minimalisitic SiteDefinition with a Stapling Feature. The Stapling Feature includes one site-scoped and another web-scoped feature. Within the Site-Scoped Feature i am deploying tweo pages.
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?>
    <Elements xmlns="http://schemas.microsoft.com/sharepoint/">
    <Module Name="MyBoxModule">
    <File Path="MyBoxModule\default.aspx" Url="default.aspx" Type="Ghostable" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="FALSE" />
    <File Path="MyBoxModule\hilfe.aspx" Url="hilfe.aspx" Type="Ghostable" IgnoreIfAlreadyExists="FALSE" />
    </Module>
    </Elements>
    My question:
I need to update these files each time my definition changes and the solution gets updated. For example after 2-3 month the customer wants to change the contents of the default.aspx but has created > 100 SiteCollections based on my SiteDefinition. Manually
changing it would be a huge time expensive job. How can i build the pages in some way, that i change the pages in my solution and provide a update so that automatically after upadting the WSP the default.aspx and the hilfe.aspx are "overwritten or
gets updated" by the file in inside the new solution.

    Hi,
If you have a requirement to change a page which exists in many sites in a batch, you can use PowerShell to iterate through multiple sites and replace the original page with
a new one in one execution.

  • Edit Context  file sid _ hostname .xml

    Hi,
How can we edit/make changes context file - specifically while creating new instance by clone.
Some common options are vi editor and context editor. Is there any tool/command other than these?
Also please tell me how to evoke context editor.
    Oracle EBS- 11.5.10.2
    Thanks

Edited by: Cherrish on Jan 14, 2009 1:34 PM

It is recommended to use Context Editor or OAM to edit the context file. However, if you are familiar with vi and xml code, you can do and edit the file manually. Make sure you take a backup of the context file before making any changes. The application context file can be located under $APPL_TOP/admin directory.

  • How do I get PSE to read tag info on updated jpg files?

Using PSE9 on 2 PCs. Files are stored locally on each, and updates synced via Windows Mesh.
    Use case issue:
    1) Add tag to jpg on PC1 using PSE.
    2) Execute PSE "write to file" command before closing app
    3) Confirm on PC2 via Windows Explorer that tag info is updated on local file
    4) Open PSE on PC2, bur additional tag info is not recognized by PSE.
    5) Tried to re-import test files in PSE using "Get Files" function, but tag data was still not read by PSE.
    6) Manually added new tag to tag list, reloaded PSE, but new tag info still not read on file.
    7) Ran Optimize and Repair catalog functions, but problem persisits.
How do I get PSE to read tag info on updated jpg files without rebuilding the entire catalog every time I edit a file?

    Simple : you can't.
Why ? Because the tags are stored in the database of the catalog. When you 'write' metadata to files, you can see it does work. The new tags are written to the files. But the new tags are ignored by the catalog in the second computer. You'd have to delete the file entry from the catalog and reimport it, supposing the tag is already in the tag list. Otherwise the tag would appear in the 'imported tags' category.
The Organizer is not meant to be a multi-user database.
What you can do to share media and catalogs between two computers having the same Elements version is to store the media files and the catalog on an external drive you can plug to each computer when needed. Note that the drives should be recognized with the same drive letter.

  • How to make the browser reload an updated jar-file?

    Hi there,
Previosly when running applets using MSIE, all needed to reload an updated jar-file was pressing CTRL+F5
Currently I've been assigned to re-develop some of my old applets and now I realize that the old CTRL+F5 won't do the trick any more since the old jar file is still in the cache and the new jar file is not loaded.
I learned the hard way that all I can do is to manually clear the cache of the browser (Tools | Options | Delete files) and restart the browser and after that the new jar file is correctly loaded.
Cache settings of the browser is set to "Reload on every visit to the page"
Currently running Win2k, MSIE 6.0 SP1 and MSJVM 3809 but the problem also exists on Win2k, MSIE 6.0 and MSJVM 3186.
Isn't there any easier way to do this?
Currently I don't even mind not caching the jar-files at all as long as I don't get my development work trashed by having to restart the browser after every new build...
Why has the old CTRL+F5 behaviour been changed?
    BR
    /Jonas

I have been closing IE and reopening it for 7 months now. I don't of any other way to reload an applet.

I have a iMac desktop and a macbook pro laptop I work mainly on the desktop but when i go away for work I take my laptop. Is there any way to make it automatically back up to mirror my desktop? Like when I update a file it updates on there too, if I install software it installs on there too etc?
When I first got the laptop I syned it to load with all the same software etc but it hasn't continued to sync
    Thanks

    I use
    Chronosync (http://www.econtechnologies.com/pages/cs/chrono_overview.html)
    and
    Dropbox (https://www.dropbox.com/)
Both work very well. The former I use for manual, one-way synchroniziation of (nearly) entire systems. The latter for automatic syncing of very active directories through local and shared online storage.

  • Moving files manually in itunes?

    Hi,
I have the latest itunes.. when I import music I do so with a folder for each artist or album.
Most of the time itunes creates a complete folder for my import.
There are a few tracks that did not go into their folders and were left outside as "unknown artist".
Now I use the "artists" tab to navigate and I don't like the sparse tracks lying around next to complete folders (albums).
Is there is anyway to move these files manually into their rightful folders?
Seems like there should be an easy option to do so.
    Thanks

Select one in iTunes right click - get info and update the Album and Artist info.
    Are these MP3 files?

  • Deployment Problem: Cannot update archive file

    Hi!
I am trying to deploy an EAR for my Projekt "PegasusServerApp". The Application had been deployed on the server before but I removed it using remove_app on a telnet client. (and it is really gone! at least I cannot see it anymore in the visual administrator nor in the telnet client)
Another attempt to deploy the (re-worked) Application fails with com.sap.engine.deploy.manager.DeployManagerException: com.sap.engine.services.deploy.container.DeploymentException: Cannot update archive file PegasusEJB.jar
What makes me suspicious is a detail from the deployment log: Update: Selected development component 'PegasusServerApp'/'isenergy.de'/'localhost'/'2004.12.02.19.02.19' updates currently deployed development component 'PegasusServerApp'/'isenergy.de'/'localhost'/'2004.12.02.11.18.52'.
Why is it "currently deployed" when I removed it before?
Has anyone an idea what goes wrong?

    Hi again!
It appears that the problem is related to some resources within the PegasusEJB.jar: almost all resources like .xml files are neatly located unter rsrc/de/isnenergy/pegasus/... where they can be found by their corresponding classes. The classes have packages like de.isenergy.pegasus.... . Some resources, however, are located under rsrc/icons and there is no package icons. (don't ask me how they are found)
this may be the reason! When I remove the icon-resources, I can deploy my EAR.
    agree?

  • Automatic update sequence files

    Hi all,
we have a simple step type, which will be usen in some hundreds of small sequence files.
We have changed the step type, as we added some variables, and in the Specify Module dialog we have defined the variabla-table new.
Now we want to update all the sequence files automatic. In the "Tools menu -> Update sequence files" there is a possibility, but it adds only the new variables to each instance of the step type, and doesn´t update the table, which we changed in the Specify Module tabe in the step type editor. If we open the updated file again, and go to Specify Module on an instance of the step type, we get the message "The prototype of the VI changed. The parameter information wil be updated to reflect the new prototype."
But the changes, what we have done in the Step Type editor, are not done to the instance.
The question is: how to update the step types?
    regards
    MB

Best way ist search for StepTypes Parameter in whole sequence (file(s)) and then set it explicit e.g. with Statement (see Screenshot)
    RunState.Sequence.Main["Action"].TS.SData.ViCall.Parms
    e.g. RunState.Sequence.Main["Action"].TS.SData.ViCall.Parms["Sequence Context"].ArgVal="Locals.Test123"

  • [svn:osmf:] 13586: Update project files for OSMFAIRTest.

    Log Message:
    Update project files for OSMFAIRTest.
    Modified Paths:
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMFAIRTest/.actionScriptProperties
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMFAIRTest/.project
    Added Paths:
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMFAIRTest/OSMFAIRTest-app.xml
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMFAIRTest/OSMFAIRTest.mxml
    Removed Paths:
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMFAIRTest/MediaFrameworkAirTest-app.xml
        osmf/trunk/framework/OSMFAIRTest/MediaFrameworkAirTest.mxml

While the files are XML, I'm not sure they are fully standard XML. Even if they are, they have all kinds of data in them which requires special knowledge. For instance, libraries have icons (which are binary) and versions. Classes have a wire and control. Projects have arrays of elements which are encoded in a certain way, etc. In short, don't merge them. Also, note that current versions of TSVN auto-merge conflicts by default when you update and you need to jump through some hoops to disable that.

Side note -- if I want to use the LabVIEW Compare tool, I rename the two "revision" files by adding .vi to the name.  Now they are legitimate VIs, and have unique names so LabVIEW can safely open all three.  Once I decide which I need to keep (say it is My Code.vi.2325.vi), I just delete the unnecessary extension.  In my case, Windows is set to not show extensions that it "knows", so what I delete is the ".vi.2325", and the not-shown ".vi" is still present.
You should be able to configure TSVN to call the LVMerge program on LV files, which should allow you to simply click the original VI and select the conflict editing option in TSVN. No need to do this manually.
Try to take over the world!
