dear all,
i have a two instances. 1st is test. 2nd is a fresh installation. for my test instance i have configured all the configuration and right now i need to copy all the configuration to the fresh installation.
1. i want to copy just the configuration to 2nd instance without master data like customer, natural account etc.
2. i want to install another fresh installation and duplicate/clone original test instance including the data to another test instance just incase the first test instance screw up.
Can anyone help to give me guidance on the two task above
regards,

Hi,
1. i want to copy just the configuration to 2nd instance without master data like customer, natural account etc. What kind of configuration? If you mean the functional setup then you can use iSetup.

2. i want to install another fresh installation and duplicate/clone original test instance including the data to another test instance just incase the first test instance screw up. Use Rapid Clone.

  • Cloning the Oracle Database Server which has Grid 11.2.03 and DB 11.2.0.3

    Hi DBA's,
Did anybody came across cloning a database servers? If i have the OFA for Grid and DB homes i.e /u01/app/oracle so after clone it will be the same across all servers. So the inventory structure will be same also. After cloning changing the listener.ora files to point to new IP/Hostname can bring up the listener. What else? Did anybody tried this things and what all issues have come or what all issues could come.
    Thanks,

Ok. I got the cloned VM . I did the same steps as we use for normal grid and db cloning. Below are the steps i did.
    1) change the ip address
    2) reboot
    3) after reboot wait for few minutes till the ASM comes up automatically
    4) as root run the below command
    /u01/app/oracle/product/11203/grid/crs/install/roothas.pl -deconfig –force
    5) Change the hostname with system-config-network-tui - Edit DNS Configuration and change the hostname here
    6) Edit the /etc/hosts file and enter the ip address and the hostname
    7)Reboot
    8) After the reboot as root run the command
    /u01/app/oracle/product/11203/grid/root.sh

    S.Azar

    Hi,
How to cloning the asm configured database?
The same way which you going to use for without ASM instance.
Nice day to you too. :)

  • Change the name of the Instance

Can someone give me teh steps as to how to change the name of the instance.
please note that i dont want to create the cloned database here!

If you are clear about the Instance name and DB name then it shouldnt be a very big issue...
I think you can just change the Init.ora plus a Service name if it is in windows

The system cannot find the file specified
I have tried from so many forms. This is so frustrating. Thank for everyone/anyone who wants to help. So this is what happened: I had to uninstall my previous sqlserver 2012(which worked great) for some reason, and I uninstalled everything from that download.
Then I installed the trial edition of sql server 2012 (64 Bit) and It wouldn't connect to the database. (Error mentioned above.) My local DB is COWBOYS. (COWBOYS is also my computer name.) After this, I have tried downloading sqlexpress and sqlserver 64bit
many times and cannot connect to my local DB.
How do I connect to my Local DB?
Also, I think this might help: (When I run sqlserve.exe, which I was able to find in C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\110\LocalDB\Binn, I get an error: Your SQL server installation is either corrupt or has been tampered with(Error getting
instance ID from name). Please uninstall then re-run setup to correct this problem.
I would happily re install it, if it wasn't my 20th time.
I don't have any remote connections, I don't use username/password, only window authentication. I work mostly on visual studio, but without able to store /retrieve data, I don't know how to survive.
May be the solution is very simple, but I am too frustrated.
Some of the things I have tried:
From a command prompt, enter one of the following commands:
net start "SQL Server Agent (MSSQLSERVER)" OR
net start "SQL Server Agent(instancename)"(for instance)
on my sql configuration, I cannot start anything because there is nothing there to start. I can post more details, if that would help. Also, some more details about the error:

Any one that can help me, I will be greatful. Thank you so much. p.s. please ask me anything if you have any questions.

It sounds like there are a couple things going on here.  First check if you have a successful install of SQL Server, then we'll figure out the connection issues.
Can you launch SQL Server Configuration Manager and check for SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER) if default instance or SQL Server (other name) if you've configured your instance as a named instance.  Once you find this, make sure the service is started.
If not started, try to start it and see if it throws an error.  If you get an error, post the error message your hitting.  If the service starts, you can then launch SSMS and try to connect.  If you have a default instance, you can use the machine
name in the connection dialog.  Ex:  "COWBOYS" where Cowboys is the machine name.  However, if you named the SQL Server instance during install, you'll need to connect using the machine\instance format.  Ex:  COWBOYS\Romo (where Romo
is the instance name you set during install).
You can also look at the summary.txt file in the SQL Server setup error logs to see what happened on the most recent install.  Past install history is archived in the log folder if you need to dig those up to help troubleshoot, but the most
recent one may help get to the bottom of it if there is an issue with setup detecting a prior instance that needs to be repaired.

  • Can not access the Instance Data of a Singleton class from MBean

I am working against the deadline and i am sweating now. From past few days i have been working on a problem and now its the time to shout out.
I have an application (let's call it "APP") and i have a "PerformanceStatistics" MBean written for APP. I also have a Singleton Data class (let's call it "SDATA") which provides some data for the MBean to access and calculate some application runtime stuff. Thus during the application startup and then in the application lifecysle, i will be adding data to the SDATA instance. So, this SDATA instance always has the data.
Now, the problem is that i am not able to access any of the data or data structures from the PerformanceStatistics MBean. if i check the data structures when i am adding the data, all the structures contains data. But when i call this singleton instance from the MBean, am kind of having the empty data.
Can anyone explain or have hints on what's happening ? Any help will be appreciated.
I tried all sorts of DATA class being final and all methods being synchronized, static, ect.,, just to make sure. But no luck till now.
Another unfortunate thing is that, i some times get different "ServicePerformanceData " instances (i.e. when i print the ServicePerformanceData.getInstance() they are different at different times). Not sure whats happening. I am running this application in WebLogic server and using the JConsole.
Please see the detailed problem at @ http://stackoverflow.com/questions/1151117/can-not-access-the-instance-data-of-a-singleton-class-from-mbean

  • How to Purge ONLY multiple STALE instances from the Instances Tab in a sing

    Hi BPEL Gurus,
In BPEL Process Manager (Instances Tab), I am able to see all the
instances (Active, Completed, Faulted, Aborted and Stale).
We are using Oracle's SOA Suite 10.1.3.1
The Instances Tab also gives me an option to filter out different
state of instances, with this kind of filtering,
I am able to view either Active instances or only Stale instances.
But my primary concern is after doing this filtering,
If I want to delete all the 100 Stale instances in a single command,
How do I achieve this ?
I am able to delete only single instance at a time, which is really
    a time-consuming activity.
Is there some kind of SQL Script (Delete statement), which does
the above activity to delete 100 Stale instances in one go.
If there is any SQL Script, please do provide me with the same,
since this is a critical production issue for us.
Also on which Oracle schema, do I need to execute the above SQL Script.
All BPEL Geeks, please do help me.

    Hi Riko,
Marc Kelderman has done an excellent job by writing
         purge_bpel_dehydration Stored Procedure.
But after having a look at ORABPEL schema,
no records are visible in any of the tables.
(Is there any way to unhide these records in TOAD 6.3.2 ?)
Also the script mentions about CUBE_INSTANCE table.
In this table, there is a STATE column.
What number do I need to specify in the WHERE clause
of my SELECT query for this STATE column, so that I can
only retrieve and delete STALE instances.
Also as we are using SOA Suite 10.1.3.1, there is no
such table by the name of WFTASK.
I can see only 2 tables PC_TASK and TASK in ORABPEL schema.
From which table, do I need to delete.
         Please confirm.

But in my program i cannot created instance of the class unless i get the results from Query.
I proposed that Query must be static, and once we get results we can create object of the class by pasing the result table which we get from method query.
But i must not change the method Query to a static method.
Is there any way out other than making method Query as static ?
    Regards.

You can't execute any instance method without creating instance of the class.
In your scenario, if you don't want to process your method of your class, you can check the instance has been created or not.
    Like:
    IF IT_QUERY IS NOT INITIAL.
      CRATE OBJECT O_QUERY EXPORTING......
    ENDIF.
    IF O_QUERY IS NOT INITIAL.
    CALL METHOD O_QUERY->QUERY EXPORTING....
    ENDIF.

A network-related or instance-specific error occurred while establishing a connection to SQL Server. The
server was not found or was not accessible. Verify that the instance name is correct and that SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections. (provider: SQL Network Interfaces, error: 26- Error:Locating Server\instance Specified)
    How Can i solve this?

    1. Make sure SQL Server Service is running
    2. If a named instance, make sure SQL Server browser service is running
    3. Make sure SQL Server is configured to allow remote connections
    4. Examine the SQL Server error log for messages confirming that SQL is listening on the expected network interfaces and ports
    5. Test server connectivity with PING from the client machine
    6. Test port connectivity using TELNET or PowerShell to the server and port (from step 4) from the client machine.  For example
    a. TELNET <server-name> 1433
    b. PowerShell: 1433 | % { echo ((new-object Net.Sockets.TcpClient).Connect("YourServerName",$_)) "server listening on TCP port $_" }
    7. Check firewall settings if step 5 or 6 connectivity test fails

See the article I wrote/posted here about monitoring Domain Controllers: http://adinermie.wordpress.com/2014/02/26/scom-agent-grayed-out-when-trying-to-monitor-domain-controllers/.
And to add an account to Local Administrators role on a Domain Controller, follow this:
Open a command promt using the "Run as administrator" function and then run the following command.
    net localgroup Administrators /add {domain}\{user}

    SCOM Environment
    Windows 2012
    SQL 2012
Everything patched and to latest build
I've installed SCOM using the MS SCOM guidelines.  When I attempt to discovery, I get the error in the topic.
Here is the details of the error.
Note:  The following information was gathered when the operation was attempted.  The information may appear cryptic but provides context for the error.  The application will continue to run.

Thank you in advance for your help

Installed it manually, but it's not showing up as pending.
I also set it to accept manual installs.
