Cloning VMs from a single VM which is Member of Domain

Hello There,
I have a VM which is got XenApp application server role and we have done lot of testing for each and every applicaiton which will be published through it, now this VM is completely ready.
We would like to clone this VM and create multiple XenApp Servers instead of going through the whole testing procedure for each application.
We use VMM2012 and HyperV 2008R2 what is the best way of cloning these machines because when we clone once machine it will have the same computer name and all unique IDs associated with it and it is also part of domain.
So what should we do in this scenario if we want to create multiple clones of the same machine, please suggest.

Hello There,
I have found an article for syspreping the XenApp server if we use this there is no need to disjoin the server domain and i can still clone the VMs from it after sysprep.

For FREE do the following:
When you get to othe part of the video you want a still shot from, put the video on pause.
Take a screen shot: Apple>Shift>4 - which will produce a cross hair so you can manually select which part of the video you want.Check inside either your Applications or Utility folder for an app called Grab. Will do the above with just a single click.
If you still want to purchase software, suggest that you do a Google & MacUpdate search. This way, you can find exactly what you want.

R12 Cloning RAC ASM to Single

customer has 3 environments: 2 single (dev and pre) and 1 RAC-ASM (prod). We are doing the first complete refresh from PROD to PRE, then from RAC to Single, following Note Cloning Oracle Applications Release 12 with Rapid Clone [Article ID 406982.1] , which has a reference to Cloning an Oracle RAC System, which refers to follow Note Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 RAC-Enabled Systems with Rapid Clone [ID 559518.1].
Following this Note, you have to create a Database Image in an stage directory, then you need unless the same database size as free space for this db image. This is not an option for very big application databases, then our idea is not to create the db image, but cloning database separatelly, following steps in Option6 in cloning Note 406982.1.
The question is, we have to refresh DB and app tier from PROD (RAC ASM) to PRE (single), colud we ignore Note " Cloning Oracle E-Business Suite Release 12 RAC-Enabled Systems with Rapid Clone [ID 559518.1]" and follow Clone Article ID 406982.1 specially Option 6, recovering PROD database separatelly with rman duplicate or we have to follow Note 559518.1 and create a db image? Any experience cloning R12 from RAC to single?

Insert pages from a single document multiple times

I'm trying to create a simple program that I can use to display PDF files that I can use to play at the piano. I perform often, and need to create "play lists" from which I can pull all, or part of, a PDF file containing music and display it.
I have it all working, except for one problem. I may need to "repeat" a section of a piece. I'm building up the play list by calling AcroPDDoc.InsertPages for each item in the play list. If a PDF file appears multiple times in the play list, when I call InsertPages, the call fails.
In this code snippet, pdDoc is the main doc to which I'm adding pages. playList is a generic List of my own PlayList objects, and I need to iterate through all the items in the playList except the first one, which is already loaded.
This code works great unless the fileName I specify has already been opened. The call to AcroPDDoc.Open succeeds just fine, but the call to pdDoc.InsertPages fails if the file has already had pages from it inserted. All other documents work fine. The documentation, of course, doesn't mention this.

The documentation does not state explicitly that you can't insert pages again from a PDDoc you open again and never close.
But it mentions that you get references only from an already opened PDDoc.
"...Opens the specified document. If the document is already open, it returns a reference to the already opened PDDoc. You must call PDDocClose() once for every successful open..."
It doesn't state that you can't insert pages from a referenced PDDoc but it seems so.
I would close the PDDoc within your for-loop after inserting pages and release newDoc.

To try to fix this, I signed out of the primary machine and so i was only in the second computer. This didnt work and when i tried to log back into Match on the primary machine it has the same problem now, asking me to buy iTunes Match when I already have it!
Now I've got it on neither machine- can someone please help!!

You often get this message when match thinks that you already have a match in progess on another computer.
If you are happy that all your music is on your new hard drive (or if it is only in the cloud), you should select "this computer".

Generating both 'G2' and 'IG' billing docs from a single credit memo req.

We have a need to generate both a 'G2' (customer credit memo) and an 'IG' (inter-company credit memo) from a single Credit Memo Request.
Is this possible with config and/or user exits in R/3 4.7?
Background
We have cases where all sales by a given Sales Org. (related to Company 'A') are supplied by plant(s) related to Company 'B'. When a standard order is processed through billing, both an 'F2' (customer invoice) and an 'IV' (inter-company invoice) are generated, with the value of the 'IV' derived from the value of the 'F2'.
In the event that there was a pricing error on the 'F2', we are required to create a Credit Memo Request, which leads to a 'G2' (customer credit memo) correcting the customer's account.
We want to be able to also generate an 'IG' (inter-company credit memo) from this same Credit memo Request to adjust the 'Sales Org's account').

Internal credit memo is created with reference to customer returns delivery.
so process the flow
Credit memo request -->returns delivery
Credit memo request-->customer credit memo(order releated)
Returns delivery-->internal credit memo.(as internal credit memo is delivary related)

1. Set the value of the SearchChildDomains entry to yes in one of the following lookup definitions:

For target resource reconciliation: Lookup.Configuration.ActiveDirectory
2. Specify the name of the domain controller that is hosting the Global Catalog Server as the value of the SyncGlobalCatalogServer IT resource parameter.
For provisioning purpose I am trying to find following configuration which is mentioned in connector document,but unable to locate it.
In the connector, the referral chasing option is set to All, which means that all referrals are chased when any referral is provided by the domain controller

Isolating guest VMs from each other (not just the host)

Hello Everyone,
I've been playing around with visualization for a long time, but largely for testing and educational purposes.
For the first time I'm thinking of actually running some production systems in virtual machines instead of on physical hardware which which raises some new concerns for me that weren't really relevant previously, namely, security. In particular, I've been thinking about how to isolate the guest VM processes from each other.
It's decades-old best practice to isolate different server services to different machines to help prevent, say, security problems with your web server also comprising your mysql server. When you start virtualizing your infrastructure, you lose this benefit to a degree, if someone manages to compromise one of your VM servers and manages to exploit a vulnerability in your hypervisor to gain access to the host, it's no big leap to assume that they may be able to get access to your other virtual machines running on that host.
It seems to me, that if you want to improve your resilience to this kind-of exploit that you want to increase the isolation of your VM processes from each other. You could, say, run them as different users. If you're careful about permissions, then you gain back some of the security of running your servers on seperate physical hardware. An attacker could still exploit a local privilege escalation bug, but it at least provides another line of defense.
This sort of thing seems to be possible with qemu virtual machines, though it does require some work to get anything besides user mode networking working.
On the other hand, this sort of thing seems to be largely impossible with libvirt. It's possible to run as qemu vms as different users using 'qemu://session' but the documentation seems to suggest that this limits you to using the qemu user mode networking, which isn't practical for running publicly accessible servers. Since, as far as I can tell, all of the visualization management products around are based off of libvirt, this surprises me. It seems to me that someone would have wanted to try and do something like this before, but nobody has (as far as I can tell).
Indeed, there seems to be very little documentation out there about using qemu with tun/tap networking when running as non-root user. There is some documentation out there about using VDE (mostly via the deprecated vdeq wrapper), but alot of qemu write-ups skip over it. There's enough out there to suggest it's possible, it just doesn't seem to be written up anywhere (yet, maybe I'll write it up myself someday).
So, this makes me wonder, 'why not?'. Are there other things people are doing to isolate guest VMs from each other?
What are people running production services in VMs doing?

I suppose this is also something to think about, but I don't think I'd be that worried about it for my use-case. The majority of systems I plan to run could run completely headless and the physical security for the host computers should be pretty good. I'm more concerned remote code exploits in one particular VM allowing an attacker to execute on the host or in other guest VMs.

Can't spawn multiple VMs from one image simultaneously?

When creating new VMs from an image it seems that the image is locked during VM creation. This in turn blocks the creation of further images
example timeline:
start creating vm 1 from image 1
start creating vm 2 from image 1
vm 2 creation fails because image 1 is locked by vm 1
vm 1 creation finishes
vm 2 can now be created because image 1 is no longer locked.
The exact error message shown is:
Windows Azure is currently performing an operation on this deployment that requires exclusive access.
I have created a template Image and wish to spawn a large cluster (>100 nodes) from it. However, as the creation is sequential this is impractical in terms of start up time.
Is there a fix/workaround for this?

I can spawn as many VM's as i like form a single image as long as i do it in sequence. However what i cannot do is spawn 2 simultaneously from the same image. If i have an image named "myImage" i cannot instruct Azure to create a VM (e.g. "vm1") from myImage
and then start the creation of a different VM ("vm2") from myImage before the first one has been created.

As a workaround for this i tried copying a single .vhd many times and creating many images("myImage1", "myImage2","myImage3" etc.) from them. However an issue occurred with this also as it seems the Add-AzureImage cmdLet creates an exclusive operation that
does not allow me to register images in parallel.

Create 1500 separate movies from a single timeline?

I have received a request for a quote from a client who wants to have an actor read out 1500 names, each of which will need to be rendered out as separate movies from a single timeline in PPro, based on cue points that we will have to set manually. These individual movies will be used as input for an interactive flash based application, which will allow for senders to choose a name and have a seemingly personalised message read out by the actor.
Is this possible with Premiere Pro and/or Adobe Media Encoder? Or does a script exist for After Effects that does just that?

My guess is that you would export a single movie from Premiere then encode cue marks in FLASH into a Flash Movie to achieve that.

Hi,
You can create a master script logic which will include all the other script logics using the *INCLUDE command and call this master script through your DM package.
Another way is to have multiple tasks in the process chain which is calling a script logic. You can pass separate script logics to each of the tasks.
I would prefer the first option

I want to drop user, drop tablespace, create tablespace and create user from a single executable file or a single sql file. The command should be in sequence. How can we achieve it? Can I anybody help me in this regard. I want this as soon as possible. It's urgent. Kindly post a reply.
Also, how can we know the oracle home directory from a java program? The problem is we should know the Oracle home directory and use it for creating the tablespace. In the userinterface we will give just for a new database user creation. I will be really thankfull if anybody can help me in this regard.

when i run the batch file from the DOS prompt it is entering into the sql prompt and coming out in a fraction of a second. We are just seeing a screen coming and going. But no error messages are being displayed.
first we thought that as we are giving the create tablespace and create user in the same file we created another file and tried without having the create commands. Even then the user didn't get dropped.

Hi,
You can create a Z-program and call Function Module MASTER_IDOC_DISTRIBUTE.
You can make a call to this FM to send the Idoc as many times as u have plants in your Sales Order.
You can call FM IDOC_OUTPUT_ORDRSP to fill the IDoc structure.
Then u can keep the materials of only that plant for which u want to pass on the information.
