how can i add button in popup window to close it? and i also want to display the value of element mapped to that window. i am new to web dynpro.

If you want a popup to have options save or exit then
you need to have two event handlers
1) Create two event handlers Ok,close. Under methods tap select eventhandler radio button.
2)In action button you write the following code

3) In "ok" method in implementation you write your code to save

How to close the detach popup on click of a button in the panel collection

Hi,
I'm using Jdeveloper 11.1.2.3.0.
I have an af table surrounded by panel collection. There is a button on panel collection to commit the changes in the table.
Clicked detach button to view the table in full browser.
On click of Commit button, the detach popup is not closed. I have set partialSubmit of that button to false. Then also detach popup is not closed.
Can anybody suggest me how to close the detach popup on click of a button in the toolbar.

I tried this approach, when the view tree is navigated on the Detach, I see that the tree is same as if it is traversed on the page without detach.

Tried with setting partialsubmit property to false on the command button, still the popup is not closed and my Faces Message are shown behind the detach popup.

You can create a custom pop up window. Just create a view that contains all
elements that you want to display. Add the button that closes the view. Create a
new window that only contains this new view. Use the mentioned method to create
a new window as pop up. You just have to pass the name of the window you have
created. Store the reference to the new window in the component controller
(mr_window).
From the new window->view you have access to the component controller.
In the action handler of the button you can use something like this:
wd_comop_controler->mr_window->close( ).

We have a requirement to disable/hide the standard close button present in the Internet Explorer while opening a popup window (the X icon present in the top right section of internet explorer window) . Any pointers on how to achieve this would be really helpful.

I don't think it is possible to hide X of any window, as it is default feature of explorer by MSDN.

Can I add a Close button to a popup window?

My RoboHelp 10 project has nested popup windows (that is, I can open a popup window within a popup window within a popup window). The problem is, when I close the popup window at the lowest level, all of them close simultaneously. This is not good for navigation, particularly if the user is following instructions in the popup window and needs to go back up one popup window level.
Is there a method by which I can close each individual popup window, for example, by adding a Close button to them? In other words, can I change the format of the popup windows?
Your help will be much appreciated in finding a solution to this problem because it is fundamental to the way we want our Help to function. If a solution can not be found, we may have to change to another product to produce our Help.

You can create a close buton by creating a link as follows with the following address:
javascript:self.close()
But I'm not sure whether this will work correctly with RoboHelp generated popups.
Another question: why would you want multiple popups? Wouldn't it be better to create a popup that can tthen redirect to another topic? Having lots of windows wil become very confusing very fast.

I'd like to show a popup with a close button in its title bar. I'm using this code to create the popup:

used for creating PopUp Windows.

Questions:
1) For the buttons I add (e.g. btnMinimize) ... if I don't
explicitly set the width and height, they default to 0 and button
is invisible. Button class says it should size in accordance with
the image. Is this normal behavior?
2) Along the lines of #1 above, if I just create btnMinimize
and give it a text label (no image), the button sizes to a width
and height of 0. I have to set the width and height for it to
appear? Is this normal behavior?
3) I can't include a screen clip here but the close button
succesfully uses the images I provide but it is larger than the
other buttons (and the image is distorted). Can I set the height
and width of the close button to match the image I'm providing (or
conversely can I get the height and width of the close button so I
can size my buttons the same)?
Spent a few days and I'm getting nowhere ...

User has no control on OVS window.You can't add your custom button on OVS window.In OVS Listener implement the three life cycle methods i)onQuery ii) applyResult and iii) applyInputValues which are predefine.

Close the ADF popup window from deployed JSP in other server

I am attempting to open jsp page which one is deployed on tomcat server in adf pop up window from cmd button event.and this first jsp will forward to second jsp and i should able to close from pop window from second jsp close button.
This is what i did:
1) created pop-up window and run the delployed jsp on pop up page
2) i used window.close script in second jsp but not popup window is not get closed .
help me to achieve this pblm ....

Disabling windows close button in dialog

I am using Jdev 10.1.3.x(10g)
I am opening a dialog pop up for a functionality. What i want is to force user to use cancel button provided inside dialog to come out of it and want user to not to use windows cance X button.
Is there any way by which i can hide the title bar or disable the close button or on click of widow close i actually click on cancel button throgh java script?
Main concern is i am passing some data from parent to dialog throgh process scope and i want to clear it on cancel. In my application there are many popup dialog which may lead to memeory issue so i seek solution to clear this data once it is not desired any more.
Also i tried Request object to pass the data but in popup it is not recognised.
Suggestion in any direction will be helpful.

answering this question for 10.1.3 since 11g is different and provides a af:dialog component to handle this case. In 10.1.3 the window you open is an external browser window. You cannot disable the close button here because it is part of the browser window that JavaScript cannot control

There is no clean way to do this. The only way i know of is to have a private global javascript variable true/false (true = show the popup, false = show popup) where the default value is true. On every click of link / form submit where you need the popup to be suppressed , set the value as false. (you can do this using a js library which can attach events to onsubmit, onclick of all links)
However the behavior you are proposing is really , really annoying (as a user), consider your interface before implementing something like this. Valid usecases are prompting the user to save changes before leaving the page, not you are leaving the website (Thats why i typed something or closed the browser)

Internet Explorer CLOSE Button for OBPM 10GR3 Presentations

I am using OBPM 10GR3 presentations with a POPUP window.
I already have a close button to close the presentation. This is a Global Interactive Activity which displays the dashboards.
The Global Interactive Activity contains a screenflow and inside the screenflow I have a Interactive Component Call to call the presentation.
Now the presentation opens smoothly and everything is displayed.. When we hit the CLOSE button everything goes away and when we open it again it again comes back to the previous Interactive Component Call and restarts.
BUT
When we Close the window itself instead of using the CLOSE button of the presentations, and we re-open, we get the previous data.
This is because we do not hit the CLOSE button of the presentation instead hit the IE WINDOW CLOSE button on the top right hand corner besides the minimize maximize button.
Therefore the call is still inside the screenflow inside the Global Interactive Activity and therefore it waits for the user to hit the CLOSE button of the presentations otherwise does not close.
How can we resolve this issue?
How can we make sure, that if the user closes the IE WINDOW itself using the CLOSE button, it closes the presentation itself and when re-opened displays the previous presentation?

First of all this is a training issue with the user. It is not advisable not to press the close button of the IE.
Nevertheles you can disable to close button of the presentaion.
You can remove the x from dialogs by doing this. Open the executionDialog.xhtml file in the <OraBPMEnterpriseHomeDirectory>\webapps\workspace\jsf\common directory (both Studio and Enterprise have this file).

This change does a couple things. The addition of the text "displayCloseButton="false"" removes the x button that is causing the undesired results you're getting and setting the colors to #FFFFFF changes the light blue border around dialog boxes to white.
