Close open file sessions

Hi All,
I need a c# code to close all open file sessions.
I know how to do it with VB but need a C# code to do this.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks in advance.

Hello,
And what's the relation to SQL Server, the topic of this forum?
If you have the VB code, then use an online translator to C#:

  • Permissions needed to view and close open files

    Hi all,
We have a 2012 R2 file server, and we would like to give Helpdesk permissions to view open files on that file server, and close them if necessary if someone complains that it is locked.
What is the minimum permissions needed to accomplish this as we do not want to give them Administrator group access.
    Thanks

    Hi,
You can give Helpdesk only read permissions to view, open and close files on the file server.
For more detailed information, please see:

  • Open file in main vi, write in subvi and close in mainvi

    Hi,
Im opening a file in the main vi , passing the reference number to the
write to text file which is located in the subvi and passing the refnum
out from this vi to the main vi again to close the file.
But, I always have only the last value of the measurement stored.
Im getting data from the serial port.
    what am I doing wrong?
    Can someone help me.
    Thanks and regards.

You probably have forgotten to set the "Write" function to APPEND the data to the file.
This has nothing to do with where you are writing the file.  Check the inputs for the write function and make sure you set it up to append.

  • Open file in Sub VI and close in Main VI

    Hi,
    Question:
I am opening a file using a Sub-VI, but i am unable to close it in my main VI. Is there a way of passing the refnum between Sub-VI's ?
Or is there a cleaner way of doing this ?
    Thanks
    GM

Although this can be done, it is not good programming practice to do so.  You should open files in one vi, read/write to them in the same vi or in subvi's, and close the file at the level where it was opened.  This is proper modular programming.  Then you would not need references.  You could just wire the file refnum into your subvi.  Of course this is a general statement.  You could have a very good reason why you are doing it your way.

  • Open/Transfer/Close Dataset file not downloading

Hello people apologies if this running rampant for me. I did post this from an attatched topic of mine but im guessing, due to its number or replies, that many people felt that it was pretty much covered. It was but another problem has riseng during my initial question.
My plan is to download a report in a file, (hopefully in background), as it is. Obviously WS_Download would not work because (1) it doesnt seem to function in background proccessing and (2) the layout is not aligned properly. After checking this out, in this forums as well as other sits, I realized Open Dataset ought to be the best approach. Im not touching the more complex ones yet you because I plan to take this step by step.
So far I have searched the net and stuff and decided that I will use WWW_LIST_TO_HTML since I want to download it the way it is. I am also going to use open/close dataset as many of you have mentioned.
SO far Im just trying it out with a simple report program to see its funcitonalities. My code goes like this.
    <b>REPORT Z**** NO STANDARD PAGE HEADING LINE-COUNT 100 .
DATA: IFIELDS TYPE TABLE OF W3FIELDS WITH HEADER LINE.
*DATA: ihtml TYPE TABLE OF w3html WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA: IHTML TYPE TABLE OF W3_HTML WITH HEADER LINE.
DATA: BEGIN OF I_TAB OCCURS 0,
    MATNR LIKE MAKT-MATNR,
    MAKTX LIKE MAKT-MAKTX,
    END OF I_TAB.
    SELECT-OPTIONS: SO_MATNR FOR I_TAB-MATNR.
    SELECT MATNR MAKTX
    FROM MAKT
    INTO TABLE I_TAB
    WHERE MATNR IN SO_MATNR..
    LOOP AT I_TAB.
    WRITE: / I_TAB-MATNR,
    I_TAB-MAKTX.
    ENDLOOP.
    CALL FUNCTION 'WWW_LIST_TO_HTML'
    EXPORTING
    list_index = sy-lsind
    TABLES
    HTML = IHTML.
    DATA: FILE TYPE LOCALFILE.
    FILE = '/usr/test.html'.
OPEN DATASET FILE FOR OUTPUT IN BINARY MODE.
    LOOP AT IHTML.
    TRANSFER IHTML TO FILE.
    ENDLOOP.
    CLOSE DATASET FILE.</b>
NOw the problem now though is that the file isnt downloading or saving at all. I cant seem to get what is wrong since the path does exist and the this seems the universal way to implement the program. Im guessing the problem lies in the file name, because everything seems to work fine. Hope to hear again soon. Sorry if people have see this twice. Again my sinceriest apologies.

for example,  open IE,  in the address bar, I enter
    \SXXXXXX
,   SXXXXXX is my host name.  I hit enter.  now i see folders, one of which is USR,  then I click on the usr folder and there is my file that I created with your program.
Maybe ask your basis person what the host name is.

Consider adding more memory. Be sure you have adequate free space on the hard drive - 15 GBs or 10% of the drive's capacity, whichever is greater. Do not run too many applications concurrently. Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQ on resolving the SBBOD.
    Do some maintenance:
Repair the Hard Drive and Permissions
Boot from your Leopard Installer disc. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu. After DU loads select your hard drive entry (mfgr.'s ID and drive size) from the the left side list.  In the DU status area you will see an entry for the S.M.A.R.T. status of the hard drive.  If it does not say "Verified" then the hard drive is failing or failed. (SMART status is not reported on external Firewire or USB drives.) If the drive is "Verified" then select your OS X volume from the list on the left (sub-entry below the drive entry,) click on the First Aid tab, then click on the Repair Disk button. If DU reports any errors that have been fixed, then re-run Repair Disk until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported click on the Repair Permissions button. Wait until the operation completes, then quit DU and return to the installer.
If DU reports errors it cannot fix, then you will need Disk Warrior and/or Tech Tool Pro to repair the drive. If you don't have either of them or if neither of them can fix the drive, then you will need to reformat the drive and reinstall OS X.
Kappy's Personal Suggestions for OS X Maintenance
For disk repairs use Disk Utility.  For situations DU cannot handle the best third-party utilities are: Disk Warrior;  DW only fixes problems with the disk directory, but most disk problems are caused by directory corruption; Disk Warrior 4.x is now Intel Mac compatible. Drive Genius provides additional tools not found in Disk Warrior.  Versions 1.5.1 and later are Intel Mac compatible.
OS X performs certain maintenance functions that are scheduled to occur on a daily, weekly, or monthly period. The maintenance scripts run in the early AM only if the computer is turned on 24/7 (no sleep.) If this isn't the case, then an excellent solution is to download and install a shareware utility such as Macaroni, JAW PseudoAnacron, or Anacron that will automate the maintenance activity regardless of whether the computer is turned off or asleep.  Dependence upon third-party utilities to run the periodic maintenance scripts was significantly reduced since Tiger.  These utilities have limited or no functionality with Snow Leopard or Lion and should not be installed.
OS X automatically defragments files less than 20 MBs in size, so unless you have a disk full of very large files there's little need for defragmenting the hard drive. As for virus protection there are few if any such animals affecting OS X. You can protect the computer easily using the freeware Open Source virus protection software ClamXAV. Personally I would avoid most commercial anti-virus software because of their potential for causing problems. For more about malware see Macintosh Virus Guide.
I would also recommend downloading a utility such as TinkerTool System, OnyX 2.4.3, or Cocktail 5.1.1 that you can use for periodic maintenance such as removing old log files and archives, clearing caches, etc.
For emergency repairs install the freeware utility Applejack.  If you cannot start up in OS X, you may be able to start in single-user mode from which you can run Applejack to do a whole set of repair and maintenance routines from the command line.  Note that AppleJack 1.5 is required for Leopard. AppleJack 1.6 is compatible with Snow Leopard. There is no confirmation that this version also works with Lion.
When you install any new system software or updates be sure to repair the hard drive and permissions beforehand. I also recommend booting into safe mode before doing system software updates.
Get an external Firewire drive at least equal in size to the internal hard drive and make (and maintain) a bootable clone/backup. You can make a bootable clone using the Restore option of Disk Utility. You can also make and maintain clones with good backup software. My personal recommendations are (order is not significant):
    Carbon Copy Cloner
    Data Backup
    Deja Vu
    SuperDuper!
    SyncTwoFolders
    Synk Pro
    Synk Standard
    Tri-Backup
Visit The XLab FAQs and read the FAQs on maintenance, optimization, virus protection, and backup and restore.
Additional suggestions will be found in Mac Maintenance Quick Assist.
Referenced software can be found at CNet Downloads or MacUpdate.
Be sure you have an adequate amount of RAM installed for the number of applications you run concurrently. Be sure you leave a minimum of 10% of the hard drive's capacity as free space.

  • Open, Write and Close the file using Powershell

    Hi All,
I need to create/open a file and write some data into it and close that file.
Could anyone please help me with this.
    Thanks.

You don't need to explicitly create, open, or close a file in Powershell.  Here are some ways to write to a file, in addition to New-Item:
    $text = 'Hello World'
    # Create file:
    $text | Set-Content 'file.txt'
    #or
    $text | Out-File 'file.txt'
    #or
    $text > 'file.txt'
    # Append to file:
    $text | Add-Content 'file.txt'
    #or
    $text | Out-File 'file.txt' -Append
    #or
    $text >> 'file.txt'
    Grant Ward, a.k.a. Bigteddy
The problem with Out-File is that it works like the console. When text is output, it will be truncated if it is wider than the default. So if you are looking for something where you need to store lots of long strings, then you may want to choose a different
route, or ensure than you specify a width for your output.
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee176924.aspx
For example to get 200 characters of width:
    $text | Out-File
    'myfile.txt' -width 200
I do not know for certain if there is a limit to how wide it can be. I also assume the default is the standard console width (80 characters I believe.)

    Hi Memalyn
Essentially, the bare issue is that you have a 500GB hard drive with only 10GB free. That is not sufficient to run the system properly. The two options you have are to move/remove files to another location, or to install a larger hard drive (eg 2TB). Drive space has nothing to do with SMC firmware, and usually large media files are to blame.
My first recommendation is this: download and run the free OmniDiskSweeper. This will identify the exact size of all your folders - you can drill down into the subfolders and figure out where your largest culprits are. For example, you might find that your Pictures folder contains both an iPhoto Library and copies that you've brought in from a camera but are outside the iPhoto Library structure. Or perhaps you have a lot of purchased video content in iTunes.
If you find files that you KNOW you do not need, you can delete them. Don't delete them just because you have a backup, since if the backup fails, you will lose all your copies.
Don't worry about "cleaners" for now - they don't save much space and can actually cause problems. Deal with the large file situation first and see how you get on.
Let us know what you find out, and if you manage to get your space back.

  • How to avoid the annoying little window that opens when I go to close a file?

When I put my cursor near the x of a file tab to close a file, a little window opens over the x and I have to wait for it to dissappear before
I can click on the x to close the file. The window that opens has the exact same text as the folder tab and seems worse than useless. Is there a way to turn it off?

It should be real easy to install the latest ATI driver for the latest ATI mobility video card but that hasn't been the case with those with my computer. Computer stuff is never as easy for my as I think it should be. I'm probably and excellent candidate for Apple computers but I'm too cheap and old to switch.
My computer is Alienware's (Dell bought Alienware a couple of years ago.) latest and biggest, m18x, and it holds two ATI 6970m GPU's. There is a real good forum of users of this computer and many have problems installing video card drivers. That is why I wanted to leave well enough alone but some say the latest drivers perform better in games so I gave it a try. My first try was installing Dells recommended latest driver for the video cards in my computer. They installed but my computer refused to use them and it hinted that it didn't like the signature. I tried for a while to get it to work but gave up and went to a site recommended by one of the users in the forum and it downloaded fine and is working.

  • Open file in current session

In older sqldeveloper releases (prior to 1.5), I could easily open a file in an open database session. There was a right click menu (and I think a button) which let me open the file directly in the current database connection.
Since 1.5 (currently running 1.5.3) I cannot seem to reproduce this functionality. I have to use the toolbar to open the file (which opens in a new tab), then select the session I want to run it in from the dropdown menu. This creates clutter because of the extra tab, and adds an additional/uneeded step. I understand it's not a big deal, but its one of those quirks that drive me nuts everytime I use it.
Is there an option to get the old functionality back or would I need to file an enhancement request?

I remember others complaining about this and the team acknowledging the change, but don't know if any of them logged an ER. To be sure, search the Exchange before logging a new request.
