Close portal (session) when calling external url

Hi there,
does anyone know if its possible and if yes, how to automatically close a portal session when (or after) calling an external url from within the portal.
Cheers
Walter

i think you can write a script for this using EPCF.

  • How to close a session when user clicks Logout

    In my jsp page i create a session for every user's name.
    when particular user clicks logut without closing his personal page,
    the others can access his page.
    so, how to close a session when clicks logout link.?
    similarly when user gets signin one system,he will not be sigin in other system.but how can we achieve this?
    Thanks in Advance

    What is the name of the session variable that you are creating on login? When he clicks logout, set that session variable to null. Like session.setAttribute("userName",null); and check for non-null condition before proceeding with any functionality in your jsp's.
    What is the second question? You want to prevent duplicate logins from different systems? You would have to maintain a static datastructure like a HashMap for instance. Everytime a user logs in, put an entry into the HashMap...like userMap.put("userName","userName"); If an entry already exists, throw a message saying that user already logged in from another machine...

  • Report runs OK through concurrent program, but not when called through URL

    We have a custom 6i report developed that works successfully 100% of the time when run through a concurrent program.
    We are now attempting to integrate this into an OAF application. To do this, we build the necessary call to the reports server by reading different profile options, etc and come up with a URL like this:
    http://ebsd777.xxxxx.com:8000/dev60cgi/rwcgi60?d777_APPS+report=XXMFG_ESPEC_REPORT.rdf+P_SPEC_ID=43+DESFORMAT=PDF
    This report works 90% of the time when called like this, but the other 10%, we get the following error:
    "Error: The requested URL was not found, or cannot be served at this time.
    Incorrect usage."
    Trying to find what the differences are between the reports that work and those that don't - found that reports which fail seem to extend out further to the right than the reports that do work. But, these reports still fit on standard letter paper in landscape format - as we can verify through the concurrent program call.
    Is there some sort of report server setting or parameter which we can change to get this to work when called through the reports server URL?
    Any thoughts would be appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Craig

    Hi,
    Please post the application release along with the database version and OS.
    But when i call the same program through the pl/sql executable of another concurrent program , it does not print the pdf output by defaultHow do you call the program? What is the value of the number of copies profile option?
    Please see if these docs help.

  • Calling external URL with POST data

    Hi:
    In my action bean I have to call and external URL (outside my domain), and along with this URL 'POST' data. I have tried the following code:
    try {
    FacesContext lclFC = FacesContext.getCurrentInstance().getFacesContext();
    lclFC.getExternalContext().getRequestMap().put("x_loc_zip","94804");
    lclFC.getExternalContext().redirect("http://www.mysite.com/personals/search/search.html");
    } catch (IOException e) {
    throw new FacesException(e);
    finally {
    lclFC.responseComplete();
    This works fine in calling the other URL, but no data is sent thru the post protocol. I have no control to the site I am calling....
    I have also tried
    ExternalContext ectx = FacesContext.getInstance().getFacesContext().getExternalContext();
    HttpServletRequest request = (HttpServletRequest) ectx.getRequest();
    HttpServletResponse response = (HttpServletResponse) ectx.getResponse();
    RequestDispatcher dispatcher = request.getRequestDispatcher("http://www.mysite.com/personals/search/search.html");
                   dispatcher.forward(request, response);
    But this tends to put a "/" at the front of the called URL. Can someone please recoomed the coorect way to call a URL from yr action bean and sending it data thru post protocol. I also wish that this new URL should now be displayed within the browser. This is urgent, yr quick reply is appreciated

    Myfaces sandbox form gives the ability to change its action url and port. Look here:

  • Call external URL from ABAP userexit, capture data and return it to SAP?

    My apologies if this question has been asked before, but I've searched for a few hours today and haven't found anything directly related to my question.  Thank you in advance for any help you may be able to provide!
    I would like to be able to make a call from an SAP userexit during Sales Order Entry in the VA01 transaction in the SD module to an external website, allow the user to capture some data in the external site and then pass that data back into the userexit where I can use it to populate internal tables, etc.
    I'm completely unfamiliar with Web Dynpro programming, but this seems like a good place to start my search for a solution.
    Does this sound like a problem that can be solved with Web Dynpro and what documentation or code examples should I reference to go about building such a solution.
    I should also note that I'm hoping to build a solution that could be called from any userexit in R/3, SAP ERP, SAP CRM, etc. and would obviously need to learn about what dependencies to consider (ex: SAP GUI version, SAP product release number, Web AS release, etc.).
    Eric

    Thank you for the response.  Let me provide some additional information.
    The external application will be a Hosted Web page.  It is not an SAP system.
    The external application will be a web page served by a separate system outside of the company domain(shouldn't matter what the technology is I would think - but the web page will be hosted by a different company than the one calling the URL) that would appear as a web page in which the user will enter data, logic will be performed on that data and then some or all of the data would need to be passed back to the calling point in SAP.
    For practical discussions it doesn't matter to me if the call in ABAP occurs in an SD userexit, in a custom report, in an HR screen or in a CRM business partner screen.  There will be many places where this external application may be called from and I'm just trying to figure out how to call an external HTTPS URL and return data from that web page to the calling point in ABAP.
    I hope that clarifies my question.
    Thanks!

    It's been a while since I used extproc. Anyway, it listener.ora make sure extproc is added. I'll assume you are on Unix:
    (SID_DESC =

    (ENVS = "EXTPROC_DLLS=ANY,LD_LIBRARY_PATH=proper-directory-list")

  • Close the session when closing the opendoc link

    HI,
    Environment: BOXIR3.1 SP3 FP 3.6
    When the user logging into infoview/CMC that time one session is creating , once logged off session also automatically closing. But when we using the open doc link, we dont have option to sign out the application. At that time we wanted to close the browser. But in CMC still we could see the users session in active. Could you please help us to kill the session when the browser is closed .
    is there any possible to kill such kind if session in BOXIr3.1
    Thanks
    N/A

    Hi,
    You can only kill sessions using the SDK and it's not recommended.
    Sessions should be automatically cleaned from the CMS after the timeout period. If it is not your case, follow the steps indicated in this KBA:

  • Calling external url like 'GOOGLE'  when user clicks on toolbar button

    Hi All,
           I have done the following steps for url creation:
       1. I have created an event and assigned it to newly created toolbar grp.Then in 'Define Application Layout' I have created an entry specifying name of application, toolbar, event, tab grp and version.
       2. Then in navigation for url generation I have created a method with blank object name. This method I have then assigned to a role.Here i have specified path for extenal link say 'google'.
       3. I have assigned same role to me in su01 transaction.
       4. when i run my application ,toolbar is getting displayed but when I click on toolbar nothing is getting open up.
               Is this the correct way for url generation or do i need to do something else?Is there any coding needs to be done?I have provided with steps done by me.Please help me further.
    Regards,
    vikas

    Hi.
    That's not possible in the PCUI since when the button is pressed a PCUI event is triggered and handle by the PCUI framework and we don't have access to the layout in order to react to such event (like placing javascript windows.open or kind of). The events defined in the PCUI are only supported by the PCUI framework. You could create an HTML container and then start the external web application (www.google.com or whatever) in this container (there is a good blog written by Gregor Wolf at <a href="/people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2005/05/27/use-crm-pcui-html-viewer-to-call-a-custom-url:///people/gregor.wolf3/blog/2005/05/27/use-crm-pcui-html-viewer-to-call-a-custom-url) or as Raj said you can use "Object Link Navigation" in order to start a new window with the PCUI layout where you can create another container with the web application you want to display (for more details have a look to the PCUI cookbook).
    Best regards.

  • Configurations to be done when calling external web service

    Hi,
    Do we need to do any configurations in SAP when we want to call any external web service from sap.
    I have created a proxy based on URL (WSDL) and I have searched this consumer proxy in soamanager transaction.
    I found the result and when I click on Apply Selection it is giving some errors in the soamanager screen at the top.
    The error is " Error : Internal error" . When I click this error link no error text is available.
    How to check the errors displayed in soamanager.
    Can anyone explain on how to resolve this issue. Once these errors are rectified then only I can create a logical port.

    You have problems with authorizations when you try to create logical port.

  • Problem when calling external program

    Hi,
    I have a strange problem and no more idea how to solve it.
    What I do:
    In Java I call an external Fortran-exe with Runtime.getRuntime().exec(...) This Fortran program creates 4 files.
    What I get:
    One of the 4 files is incomplete, the first few lines are missing.
    What makes me wonder:
    When I take the exec-statement to the commandline and let it run there, everything is fine and the files contain all the info I need. All the 4 files are correct then.
    What I also tried:
    I tried to copy the (incomplete) file within Fortran. That means when I call the Fortran program I get 2 identical files then but with different filenames. Doing so on the commandline everything is fine again. But again, the same commandline String called in the exec in my Java program it is getting worse: The formerly incomplete file is empty now with 0 bytes.
    Even if I wait for the process to finish does not help.
    I do not understand it any more and would really like to know what happens there, why, and what can I do to avoid it or to get my complete output files. What does Runtime.getRuntime().exec(myString) do different than when I take the myString on the commandline?
    Any hints welcome.
    TIA

    Hi,
    unfortunately this does not help. I have already about 15 Fortran programs running this way which work accurately. So a possible problem with output stream does not look reasonable to me in this case.

  • Maintain session when calling servlet from form in a JSP

    I have the following set up:
    index.jsp calls login servlet from the action tag in a form.
    Login servlet handles the login, stores the user info and db connection in the session and uses forward(req,res) to call another jsp.
    That jsp has a form where user enters search info and in that form's action tag there is a search servlet. In the search servlet I am unable to access the session.
    Is there any way to pass the session to the servlet from that jsp using a form/action?

    I've read elsewhere that if you go from a jsp to a servlet that the >request object is cleared of any attributes from the previous request.which is correct. But arent we speaking about session object here? A request object is valid for a request - ie the phase from where the server receieves a hit for a resource upto the point it sends the output for that request.
    A session spans multiple requests.
    it doesn't retrieve the session info and gives me a null pointer >exception when I try to use the connection object stored in the session.Bad bad bad . Why do you store Connection objects in session? Create them when necessary or use a connection pool. Do you for example clean up the connections when the session expires. What if its a 30 minute session and the user hits every say 15 minutes with a request. Why do you need to hold on to the Connection in the intervening interval when the user's session is inactive?
    gives me a null pointer exception when I try to use the connection object stored in the session.which means that the Connection object is null - not the session object.
    That last line is where I get the null pointer exception. And that is
    Statement stmt = con.createStatement();?
    Same answer as above.
    If the session object was null,
    userSession.getAttribute("connection");would have thrown a NPE.

  • Extproc crashes when calling external routine

    Can anyone point me to documentation on the causes of extproc.exe crashing when trying to invoke an external procedure? The standard documentation set isn't too helpful for debugging such a problem.
    I have been able to call one external procedure. With two others, I always get an extproc crash with (I believe) an access violation.
    The routines I am trying to call are 3rd-party, so I do not have the ability to view their source, though I do have the list of parameters and the sizes and types.
    What I am hoping to find somewhere is a list of the kinds of things that cause extproc to crash so I can see if any of them are likely culprits in my situation.
    Thanks,
    Bruce Merkle

    Have you tried calling into the dll that CVI calls directly from TestStand?  I am curious to know if this also crashes.
    I am also curious to know if there are any path references in the dll that is called by the CVI program.  If so are they relative, or absolute paths?
    I ask because one of the possibilities is that relative paths are being used to specify a path from the location of the code that is called, and they are not working because the current working directory is being specified by TestStand, and the paths are not relative to the working directory given by TestStand.

    I have a problem connecting OSB to webservices exposed by Lotus Domino Server.
    When I test the services with XMLSpy, it works fine. I started a project in OSB, and imported WSDL files from the server url. So far it worked. I built the corresponding Business services. When I tried to test these business services, i got error 400 from the domino server.

    Yes, the problem should be in the request, but in the test console the request document looked fine.
    I tried the following:
    I tested the service with XMLSpy. I took the soap envelope generated, and pasted it into the business service test console. Then the payload should be the same in both cases, but it does not work.
