Close year with 2 period indicators
Hello,
My customer is running calendar year from Jan 1st to Dec 31th
For such year he defined period indicator: for 2009 one indicator and for 2010 other indicator.
However u2013
His business year is from July 1st till June 30th.
He would like to close his business year soon: 1st July 2009 till 30th of June.
Are there any affects that we should be aware of by closing a year that has two period indicators? (such as affect on reports etc.)
Thanks a lot
Revital
Hello Revital,
Based on your posting, your customer should have set up their Financial Periods from 1st July till 30th of June. Since it is not set up this correct way. I don't think there are any easy ways to close these 2 half-year ends. It is not 2 period indicators problem but more. You need to struggling in the test environment to see what would be an acceptable closing to your customer.
Thanks,
Gordon

Assignment of FSV with 52 periods in OB37 not possible
Hello SAP Guru,
I am having this concern of assigning the Fiscal Year Variant WK with 52 periods thru OB37 to company code 1000 but error
"More than 16 periods can only be used in the Extended General Ledger" appears.
The management would like to change the current fiscal year from V3 which is from April to March which holds the 16 posting periods including the 4 special periods into a 52 WorkWeek periods. The purpose of having the 52 WorkWeek is that the Management wanted to see the Financial Statement in a weekly basis. And this changes should have take effect on April 1, 2014. I have successfully created the Fiscal Year Variant WK but when I am about to assign it to CoCode 1000, such error message appears. The message says that the periods more than 16 period should be used in an Extended General Ledger. Can someone please guide me on how to do this or is there a simple way on assigning the new Fiscal Year Variant to a CoCode.
Appreciate your immediate feedback as I have to report to management on March 14 that the new Fiscal Year with 52 periods is available in the system.
Thanks,
JulieHi Sowmya,
Thanks for the info. But how can I use the FSV WK with 52 periods as the management want to start using workweek in generating reports effective April 1, 2014? Can you help me on this as there are only 2 weeks to report to management that the WK is available in the system.
I read about the Non Leading Ledger and already assigned the Cocode 1000 and the WK as well to this ledger, how will this work?
The objective is for reporting purposes only, to generate the Financial Statement on a weekly basis as well as the GL posted transaction.
Please guide me.
Thanks,
Julie -
Hello. I'm Taleh Gahramanov from Baku, Azerbaijan. On June 1, 2013 in your Baku-Azerbaijan branch "Alma Store", I bought on a credit iMac (27"/3.2QC/2x4GB/1TB/GTX675MX-1GB/WLMKB) for 2.149 AZN with a period of one year guarantee on the behalf of my friend Asgar Imamverdiev. But a week later I noticed some problems in the screen of computer and I went to Alma Store for asking about this problem. I was told that this problem happens in all computers. Afterwards the same problem happened again. I took the computer to Apple technical service in Baku and I was told that there's a serious problem in the display. Showing my one year guarantee, I required a new computer. But I was told the following: "Wait, we'll order a detail, it will arrive in a month. So we'll repair the problematic part and will let you know. If you wish, take a computer till the arrival of spare part. When the part arrives, we'll let you know." I don't want a repaired computer. Besides, if I wait for a month, my work will be delayed. For that reason, I ask you to susbstitude my problematic computer with a new one. In advance thanks! <Edited by Host>Hello Taleh,
Wer're just other users here trying to help other users, you'll have to contact Apple, maybe calmly ask to speak to a Customer representative, & see if they can help you.

I'm a MB Pro beginner (after 25 years with PC). I have an Iomega ext HD, but how do get it indexed?, and it doesn't come up with any results I'm trying searches in Finder, and it says "searching Iomega drive" - but I don't think it's indexing. How do I force it to index?
Well I'm leaning the other way. I think my present MBP will be the last Apple product I buy.
With the way Apple is going, all New Mac computers are sealed unit that don't allow the user to upgrade them in any way. They are getting more expensive initially. They are impossible to fix, even by Apple. All the parts are either soldered to the Logic Board or glued inside the case parts. The add on warranty only covers manufacturing defects and is expensive. And to fix one out of waranty is close to if not more then a new system.
The only thing different in a Mac, and most other products Apple sells, is the operating system and the cases they come in. As for the OS both have their glitches and at this time there are no viruses that infect OS X. There is more software available for Windows. More choices as to what hardware you can use or upgrade to at a later date.
Mac computers are becoming large iPads or iPhones with built in keyboards.

And as for the question: PC or Mac, the consensus that I hear from colleagues and friends is just as you state it: stay with Mac, be patient, work at it, and you’ll never look back! Thanks again -
Planning layout with dynamic period colomns
Dear experts,
I would like to create a planning layout for cost center/ cost elements in which we have the different periods in the columns (1-12). This layout I could already create, but now the business asked to have the number of columns selected dynamically in the selection screen ( eg: I want to enter the data as of April till December).
The reason behind this is that the planning periods of Jan - Mar will be locked when we will enter the data from April to December. My first layout does not allow to enter any data if Jan - Mar is locked.
In other words, would it be possible to have the periods in the selection screen AND in the columns of your layout?
Thanks in advance,
Roeland
Eg:
In selection screen
Period from 3 - 5
Planning layout:
Cost center cost element Per 3 Per 4 Per 5
10000 40000001 1000 1200 1400
10000 40000002 2000 2200 2400Hi,
This indeed describes the problem, but does not really provides an answer to the problem.
Thanks anyhow
I have found a solution to upload data via excel though:
If for example periods 1-4 are locked you should start your layout in excel as of period 5 but you should repeat period 12, five times (to get to 12 columns/periods). This way you will be able to process the file with a planning layout for a year where some periods are blocked)

This may be strange, but when I type a period "." strange thins happen in Mail and Safari! It is as if when typing a period it is like hitting the return key! Forinstance, if I'm typing a web address in on Safari, as soon as I type a period in the address bar, Safari goes and tries to look up the address before I finish.
Or, in Mail, when I type a period in the body of the message, the cursor moves down a line like I hit the return key. It even happens while I type this message and it ONLY happens with the period key. This is fustrating! Does anyone have ideas as to how to fix this? I have all upgrades installed and my powerbook generally is running great except for this. Help?Don't you have the year dim joined with the fact?

Starnge issue with posting periods
Hi All,
I am facing a strange issue with posting periods....
When I go to OMSY i can see that periods 10 & 9 are open. the I go to MMPV and close periods. Again when I go back into OMSY I can see that now periods 11 & 10 are open. But after sometime when I try to do invoice posting I get the error that posting only possible in periods 10 & 9. I checked in OMSY and it now shows that periods 10 & 9 are open!!
I have closed periods using MMPV atleast 5 times now....I really fail to understand why or how the periods are changing in OMSY?
Regards,
V SHi,
Check in MARV table, if it is still open, while close the period in MMPV, check you are getting message as "Period closed log issued"

CO-PA planning for individual months and previous year with same layout
I would like to create a planning layout that uses a SINGLE value to define multiple period/year columns, which is driven by the value of the first period of the plan years.
The planning layout would look something like this:
2012 2012 2012 2012 2012 2011
JAN FEB MAR u2026 DEC TOTAL TOTAL
I want to create a variable PER01 and use the following as my column definition
PER01 (JAN 2012)
PER01+1 (FEB 2012)
PER01+2 (MAR 2012)
PER01+11 (DEC 2012)
PER01-1 TO PER01-12 (TOTAL 2011)
What am I doing wrong in the following sequence?
1. Create local variable in transaction KEPM
Edit>Variable>Define variable
Here is my entry:
Characteristic Period/year (Characteistic PERIO)
Variable PER01 (Note zero-one, not oh-one)
Value from 001/2012 to 012/2012 or
001/2012 to 001/2012 or
Blank
What should be u201Cvalue fromu201D range be set to from the three above choices?
2. Create a planning level
Which of these is correct for the selection criteria for period/year range?
(X) PER01
(X) PER01 to PER01
(X) PER01 to PER12
3. Iu2019ve tried I think about all possible combinations and permutations of values and keep running into this error message:
KG1003
Planning package can not be edited with planning layout
Planning layout has one or more variables for characteristic u201CPERIO.u201D These variables are given values from the selection criterion for the planning package. The selection criterion (single values and/or nterval) must match the variables.
The system tries to replace the variables in the planning layout with the selection criterion for the planning package. If for example, there is a variable for asingle value in the planning layout that is a planning characteristic, then the selection criterion must contain a single value. If there are two variables from the from and to value of an interval in the planning layout for a characteristic, then an interval must also exist in the selection criterion.
SAP course AC605 states that "Users will be prompted to enter the values for these variables when planning."
To date, I am not getting a popup to allow me to enter in period 001/2012. What am I missing/overlooking?
Thanks,
BobThanks Ajay for your reply.
In the sake of completeness, here is my solution incorporating your suggestion:
Characteristic Variable Name Value from Value to
PERIOD/YEAR PER01 FIRST PERIOD/YEAR 001/2012 012/9999
Settings
Planning level MYLEVEL 001/2012
Planning package MYPACKAGE 001/2012
Planning layout MYLAYOUT PER01, PER011, PER012, PER01+3, etc.
The trick was to specify only the single value 001/2012 for period/year as shown above, rather
than specifying a range..

How to get list of company codes with current period not opened?
Hi,
How to get list of company codes with current period not opened?
Is there any way we can check whether the current period is opened for all company codes.
If not how, can we generate a report which having information of period and company code. Also please tell me, which table will have info on posting periods and company codes.
Thanks
Vineeth VargheseHi,
The MM periods details can be viewed In Table MARV . On the selection screen you have the option of entering the company codes , current period, year current period etc. so make the required entries and you get the all details relevant to MM periods. Also it can be downloaded as a report. Thanks -
Everytime I close the browser of Firefox, and want to open it again afterwards, I get the message "FF is allready active, but doesn't respond...." I know I can close FF with the taskmanager, but to have to do it time and time again, is totaly not workable ? I already uninstalled and installed FF again (latest version), but the problem stays the same. I already use FF for many years and didn't have that problem, untill a little while ago
Make sure that Firefox closes properly and that there isn't a hanging Firefox or plugin-container process left in the task manager.
Use "Firefox/File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") to close Firefox if you are currently doing that by clicking the close X on the title bar.
See:
*"Hang at exit": http://kb.mozillazine.org/Firefox_hangs
*"Firefox hangs when you quit it": https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Firefox+hangs -
This happens when FireFox is not responding, and I want to close firefox with ctrl-alt-delete. Too many tabs can make Firefox crash. That is why I want to use ctrl-alt-delete to close FireFox. I tried finding a way to disable this, but I found no option to.
Ending the Firefox program or process with the Windows Task Manager "looks like" a crash. The proper way to exit Firefox is click Firefox button > Exit (or File > Exit, if using the Menu Bar).

iTunes sees the Apple TV as a device. I have it set to manual sync. I have it set to sync my entire library (I have only 10 CDs in my library). It says it is syncing. The wheel goes round and round. The song it is syncing is listed. The number of songs that are to by synced is listed. but it never gets through syncing the song. I have also set it to sync my photos, but never gets to them. I seem to have a good wireless connection to my Apple TV. I am able to talk between my PC and my Apple TV, but now it won't sync. Note: I have been playing music on my Apple TV for 3 years with good success (with hundreds of songs), but it no longer seems to work like it did. Thanks.
Intermittent problems are often a result of interference. Interference can be caused by other networks in the neighbourhood or from household electrical items.
You can download and install iStumbler (NetStumbler for windows users) to help you see which channels are used by neighbouring networks so that you can avoid them, but iStumbler will not see household items.
Refer to your router manual for instructions on changing your wifi channel or adjusting your multicast rate.
There are other types of problems that can affect networks, but this is by far the most common, hence worth mentioning first. Networks that have inherent issues can be seen to work differently with different versions of the same software. You might also try moving the Apple TV away from other electrical equipment. -
I have an HP Laserjet 5m monochrome printer that I have used for years with our three Mac computers
HP Laserjet 5m monochrome printer C3917A (1997)
Operating system: OSX 10.7.4
Error message: Printer busy
No known changes made to system or configuration
I have an HP Laserjet 5m monochrome printer that I have used for years with our three Mac computers (two on OS X Lion and one on Leopard). I'm using ethernet to connect to a router and then my computer (although I have also tried to connect directly to no avail.) We went away for 2 weeks, returned and got “Printer busy” for all 3 computers. I reset the printer to factory settings. Same problem. By the way, the printer says READY. I then went to System prefs and clicked ‘–‘ in the Print & Scan section to remove the printer. When I tried to add back the printer, nothing shows up. I now remember that this may be because the means of communicating with the printer has now changed and that I had found the printer by somehow adding its address settings (or something). Can anyone help me to reconnect with the printer?
This question was solved.
View Solution.Download and install this: http://support.apple.com/kb/DL907
Reset the printing system:
- Go to System Preferences > Print & Scan
- Right (or control) click in the rectangle listing your printers and select Reset Printing System.
WARNING - this will delete ALL of your printers!
- Select the plus sign to re-add a printer. Select the Defualt tab on the top of the window. Look for the printer, select it and wait until the "Add" button becomes available. Click it.
Say thanks by clicking "Kudos" "thumbs up" in the post that helped you.

Hi, Can anyone please advice how to write the formula to for "Find Row" action in the Table tool bar? If there are 1000 entries in the table the user should be able to search for his record. Please let me know. Thanks in advance. Thanks. Aditya.
