Closing keyboard turns off phone

Hello,
My Palm Pre 2 turns off almost everytime I shut the keyboard.
It also randomly turns off in my pocket.
How do I get it repaired?
Post relates to: Pre 2 p102ueu (Unlocked EU)

Have you checked to see if the battery is possibly loose inside?  I haven't heard of this problem with the Pre2, but earlier phones had a batch of bad batteries that were a tad short.  Many owners fixed the problem by wedging a small fold of paper to hold the battery firmly against the contacts.
if this doesn't work you need to contact either your carrier or HP support.  See the support link at the top of every page here on the forum.

SystemUIServer is a background process that controls some of the user interface. Try opening Activity Monitor, in your Applications>Utilities folder and, in the upper right hand corner, copy and paste SystemUIServer. See how much of your CPU % that it's using. There might be a memory leak with one of the applications that you're running - though I've never seen it with PS CS6 and/or Safari. If it's using even 1% of your CPU, quit the process (it will relaunch).
If you're still running Lion, as your profile says, I would try upgrading to Mountain Lion to see if some - if not all - of your random log-off issues stop. 10.7.4 is not really very stable with the 2012 MBPs and I see a number of processes running that are giving you fits. ML may recitify most of them.
Don't really know what else to tell you - perhaps someone else can come along and comment about some of the other items in your log.

Try plugging it up to your computer and launching iTunes and either resetting it to factory settings or resetting to last sync. Hopefully it just noticing it's plugged up to iTunes will fix it. This happened to my friend once and all she had to do was plug it into her computer and that fixed it.

  • Keyboard turning off

I just purchased the apple wireless keyboard. i use it with my 12" PB and a 23" cinema display. However, when i put the computer to sleep, the keyboard eventually will go into sleep mode itself after a few minutes, and when the computer senses "connection lost" from the keyboard it wakes back up. so i put my computer to sleep, the keyboard turns off after awhile, and then the computer automatically turns back on. it's very annoying as i'm trying to sleep because the screen is so bright. i know i could disable allowing bluetooth devices to wake computer, but that is not what i want to do. has this problem been seen anywhere else? any fixes? thanks.

I have a similar problem with a Mini, whose BT reception seems awfully poor with the new AL keyboards and a "Lost Signal" message will appear every 5 minutes (I already replaced the KB once and no dice).
The solution for not having it turning back on the computer is to check off "Allow Bluetooth devices to wake this computer" (System Preferences > Keyboard & Mouse > Bluetooth). Note that in doing this you won't be able to hit the keyboard to wake the computer... anyway, I think the real problem isn't that your KB goes to sleep, but that it breaks the wireless link, so the computer complains, your problems does not seem as severe as mine, though.

  • Turn off phone/text

I will be travelling to China and do not want to receive any phone calls or texts.  I would like only for WiFi and my camera to be functional.  How can I turn off phone and text.  I will be communication via WeChat.

Turn on Airplane mode, then turn WiFi back on.

  • Can you turn off phone calls and texts??

I am traveling to Buenos Aires from the United States for a minimester.. I called my cellular carrier and they do not have a plan to save me money in regards to phone calls and texts. I have the app What'sApp so I can use a data plan they offered me to keep in contact while I am way, however I am still afraid of racking up charges in texts and phone calls. Is there any possible way to turn off phone calls and text and strictly use the data plan they have given me?
I have the iPhone 5. Thank you.

FYI, that won't work. AirPlane disables all radio communications.
The best way to do this is to divert all calls.
    Go to Settings
    Phone
call forwarding and switch to O
Type in your carriers default voicemail number. Because it is the default number for voicemail is an exception in their list you won't be charged for the diversion.
remember to switch this off when you get back.
Then go to messages turn off send as SMS and MMS.
That should avoid most of the charges. Its inevitable that you'll get some but hopefully if you're careful it will be minimal.
Have you thought of using a local sim while you're there, you're iMessage will still work and your home SIM and account will be inactive so you won't get any unforseen chardges?
    Good luck

  • Turn off phone calls, keep text capability on.

Does anyone know if it's possible to turn off phone calls, but keep your text messaging capability on? We are travelling internationally and texting is a lot cheaper.

Texting is a portion of the cellular service, and I am not aware of a way to remove one without the other. While you can turn off texting, if you were to turn off cellular service, then texting would be turned off as well. You can turn off cellular data and roaming, and that would turn the cellular off, but then you could still use iMessage via Wi-fi, however if any of your friends are non-iPhone users, you would not be able to get messages from them.

  • Korg micro37 keyboard turns off after a few seconds

    Hi all,
My Korg micro37 keyboard turns itself off after about 4 seconds after I plug the keyboard in. Any idea why this happens? It doesn't happen on a Ubuntu 12.04 laptop, but does on another Arch laptop with 3.7.1 kernel. I had the same problem with 3.5.x kernels. Thanks.

So I did call Apple. That was pointless since they had no idea what was wrong. I made an appointment with a Genius at the Apple store nearest to me. The associate who checked me in said his wife had the same problem (and discovered it while on an 8 hour flight, which stinks).
The genius who helped me was great. He had no idea what the issue was and hadn't heard of the issue before, so he took my phone into the back room and ran some diagnostics.
He found that there was nothing wrong with the hardware at all, but he noticed an error with my firmware.
He restored my phone (while my phone was plugged into itunes he held down the home and wake/sleep buttons. Then when the apple logo appeared he let go of the sleep/wake button but kept the home button pressed). This erased everything. I wasn't worried about that since all my contacts, apps, and music were backed up on my computer.
I guess he reinstalled the latest firmware and os update. He put a couple of albums worth of music on there too for me to test it. Problem solved.
It took an hour or two for me to get everything back onto my phone and in its proper place.
That was a pain, but worth it since I can now listen to music freely with no interruption.
The only thing I'm really ****** about is that my game data is all erased. Apparently when you back up your apps in itunes, it doesn't back up your progress/saves/scores in your games. I have about 30 games on my phone so this really, really *****. I guess I will just have to replay all the levels in Angry Birds, Peggle, Cut the Rope, etc. Lost a lot of progress in Infinity Blade which is pretty especially awful.
I just listened to about a half hour of music with no interruptions though, so I guess its a fair trade.
    Good luck.

  • How to turn off phone keypad beeps?

I've got a 3GS/3.1. I can't figure out how to turn off the phone keypad beeps. Under settings/sounds I've turned off keyboard clicks, but the phone keypad still beeps. Any suggestions?

Did you ever get an answer to this question about you not being able to silent your keypad (ten key) tones on your Iphone? I am having this same issue, my boyfriend and i compared our settings and set them exactly the same. His keys are silent, my beep with each one I touch. I can't stand this? Did you ever get it resolved?
    Thanks

  • MPB Display/keyboard turning off with external LCD hooked up

    Yesterday I bought a new MBP 15.4" 2.0Ghz, 512mb/80GB with 10.4.7.
Today I hooked the MBP up to my 20" Dell widescreen LCD, USB mouse and keyboard, and set up extended desktop. I've got the 20" Dell LCD as the primary display, and the MBP display as the secondary. The plan was for the MBP to be a desktop replacement - I'd use it with a full-sized keyboard and mouse and extended desktop with my LCD, and have a powerful travel machine as well.
Seemingly at random, the MBP appears to go to sleep (despite the fact that I've got sleep turned off in the power manager). The MBP screen shuts off, the keyboard stops responding (or lighting up if I cover the ambient light sensor) and the trackpad likewise simply doesn't work. The green LEDs for Caps Lock/Num Lock do work. The external keyboard and mouse still work, and the Dell LCD monitor still works (in fact that's how I'm posting this now); however, extended desktop no longer works and anything I was doing on the MBP screen is pretty much forever lost, as I've been utterly unable to find a way to force the MBP screen back on.
To compound this, if I unhook the DVI connector from the MBP, the MBP display comes back on; however, the display is horribly garbled and impossible to read. After seeing this, I plugged the DVI connector back in which promptly froze OSX. The only way I've been able to fix this is a hard reboot. If I look closely at the MBP screen, I can see that both backlights are still on and that the LCD simply isn't displaying an image.
This is hooked up to AC power, not on battery.
I'm desperate for help here, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Just noticed that when I drag a window off my working display (the Dell) past the boundary that would be the extended display on the MBP, OSX crashes and requires a hard reboot.

  • How to turn off phone?

is there another way to turn off the phone besides holding down the lock button at the top? for some reason that button stopped working.

This has happened to me, and if the top button doesnt work, you can NOT shut off the iphone unless you let the battery die. I had the same issue in reactivating my new iphone. If you dont want to wait until your battery dies, Put your old phone on airplane mode, then follow the steps to activating your new phone. It works-I did it.

  • How to turn off phone only

    Hi
I know I should know how to do this but need to know the steps to turn off the phone only. You see I am traveling to JAPAN, but I do not want to pay the international phone rates, so I would like to turn off the phone capability only and still be able to use the wifi. Is there a way to do this?
    Thanks
    Ron

Don't worry about turning on airplane mode, Japan uses a different freq for they're phones and it wont work anyway. If you want to be safe you can turn on data roaming in the settings which will help against roaming charges. I just came back from japan and I assure you you wont be hit with crazy charges, and WiFi will still work in Hotel lobbies and anywhere else you can get a WiFi signal.
