CLUB similar items into single item

In 0PROFIT_CTR, I have values like
555, 555_US, 555_CA, 555_MX
777,777_US, 777_CA,777_MX
In my BEX output, I need to show all 555 series as 555 and 777 series as 777
What is the best way to do it.

In transformation level, write this field routine in your 0PROFIT_CTR:
RESULT = SOURCE_FIELDS-PROFIT_CTR(3).
So that you will only get the first 3 characters of your PROFIT_CTR..Then in reporting you will have the all 555 series combined as 555..
OR
If your PROFIT_CTR is keyfield, you create an object similar to your PROFIT_CTR (let's call it ZPRFT_CTR) and do the routine above in the new object..Using this, your original data in PROFIT_CTR will be retained..
Then in your query designer, you use the ZPRFT_CTR to be able to get all 555 series as 555..

Yes spot channel only and in Same document itself.
And the above script need to run in Extend tool script?. Coz by this script there is no changes happening.
By using Apply image can merge only two channels at a time. And after merged into a single channel source channel also remains.
For ex, Pantone Reflex Blue 1
Pantone Reflex Blue 2
Now i need to merge into 1. so after Merging by using Apply image
Pantone Reflex Blue 1 2
Pantone Reflex Blue 2 (But this is to be automatically deleted after merging, which is not possible by using Apply image)
By using the script this needs to be recover
1) In channel options
Color indicates - Spot Color
Color - Reflex Blue
Solidity - 0%
In same way i have taken the separation in different area of my image with same spot color.
2) If process color are taken as spot channel that also need to merge with process channel (CMYK)
Color indicates - Spot color
Color - C100%
Solidity - 0%
If this is option selected in this channel to be merge with Cyan process color channel.
By using Apply image option i used to give Multiply only and Opacity to 100%. Same need to apply this script. Pls help..

Why do we put similar infoobjects into single dimension.

Why do we put similar infoobjects(Char ex: 0material, 0matl_type, 0matl_group, 0matl_cat, 0mat_plant) into single dimension(MATERIAL DIMENSION). and other similar like(0CUSTOMER, 0SHIP_STCK, 0SOLD_TO, 0DIVISION, ZORD_MAT) into single dimension(CUSTOMER DIMENSION), What will happen if i put all these infoobjects into single Dimension, Can some one answer me in the system prospect, data base prospect as well as performace point of view or may in general.

This is an important thing while deciding upon the dimensions. Its not the similar things we are putting together but based on the data realtion and cardinality we put the chars in a dimension. If dimensions are not properly designed the tables size increases drastically and lead to poor performance. Taking an example the relation between the chars in a dimension should be 1:m and not n:m. A material can have one material type and belons to one materila group for a plant is the relation which is a 1:n relation. Chars with high cardinality are put in separate dimensions instead of grouping with other chars.
The grouping of classification groups (characteristics) whose content is logically connected, under a single generic term. If the dimension contains a characteristic whose value already uniquely determines the values of all other characteristics from a business-orientated viewpoint, then the dimension is named after this characteristic.

Club Multiple rows into single row

Iam facing this problem. Iam having this table client_details with columns as
client -- group -- group_code
1234 ------ X ------ code1
1234 ------ Y ------ code2
5555 ------ X ------ code3
5555 ------ Y
Now when I Query this table for a particular client, I require both the group_code for this client (it can be null also). But I require the result in a SINGLE row.
The group will be either X or Y only.
Can anyone help me out pls

LM46 - Multiple line items into single HU

Hello,
I am using Pick & Pack functionality and confirming transfer orders using RF - LM46 transaction.
During confirmation of transfer order, new HU is getting created for each line item. Is it possible to confirm multiple line items into single HU.
Is there any setting needs to be done to achieve the same.
Steps in current process
- Create transfer order using LT03 or Background job
- Go to LM46 - enter delivery and packaging material
- Confirm line item
- TO item information (Qty & batch) updating back to Delivery along with new HU number
- Material and qty getting packed to HU correctly..
As we have several small picks, we don't want new HU to be created automatically. If we can combine multiple TO items into single HU that will be helpful for the process.

I don't believe there is a straightforward way of doing that. The idea behind the design would be (for the two cases mentioned in this thread):
No HU exists, so new HU is generated during the TO confirmation (by entering only the packing material and $ as the HU number, triggering the label printing for shipping)
Hu exists, so the user would have the HU in front of them and would be packing directly into it.
Is your requirement for all deliveries within the warehouse? i.e Each delivery (regardless of the number of transfer orders) should only have one HU assigned?

When I "save page as" I also get a folder with gif images, jscript script files and other similar items. how can I stop this.

How can I remove the Similar Items plugin? It doesn't show up in addons

The Similar Items addon is back, and it seems they have gotten trickier in how they are installing themselves. All of the previous instructions for removing it no longer work. Has anybody figured this out yet?

Can you confirm it is injected one of your extensions? you could test the same activit in Firefox's Safe Mode. That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using either:
* "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Restart with Add-ons Disabled
* Help menu > Restart with Add-ons Disabled

Clubbing of PR in single PO via MD04 screen

Hi All
We have multiple PReq's in MD04 screen created based on MRP run, many of them are having material which needs to be procured from same vendor, so I would like to know if it is possible to have all these Pres clubbed in single PO through MD04 screen. Right now what I can see that when you convert Preq in to PO using MD04 it allows one Preq with 1 line item to be converted into single line PO.
Please let me know if there is any way we can have multiple line PO created through MD04 screen.
Note: We Don't want manual inclusion of Preq in PO, what we want is system should autmoatically put all the Preq on same vendor into a single PO.

It is not possible in standard system.
What you can do:
- you can use the proper lot sizing procedure and suitable colective requirement indicastor setting (both are in material master's MRP views) /if you are speaking about one material/

Making into single table

Hi,
I have two file path at selection screen where I upload one field names file and one record file for the fields uploaded.
I have an internal table with fields id, pid, structure_name, pk_field(parent key), fk_field(foreign key),fields(table type-the file field names that uploaded in my selection screen),data(this is also a table and has the record file that I have uploaded at selection screen).My internal table looks as follows:

Now my requirement is to flatten the data into single table with the following fields based on the parent key(pk) and foreign key(fk) relation.Can anyone suggest how to do it.

One more thing which I don't get. Does DYN_TABLE holds values 1,2,3 as 3 records?

Multiple deliveries into single invoice

Gurus,
My business requirement is like this,
Order is created and delivery process is done with PGI,but the material moves with manual invoice/DC,but the end of the week,all deliveries are compiled into a single invoice for particular customer.Wheares the header condition,business item remains same.When i tried to put all deliveries for the customer X in vf01 and execute,the individual deliveries cannot be convereted into into single invoice.When split analysis is done it says header is different,but to my knowledge all header ,business items are unique.Kindly help me at this ase

- Try using Tcode VF04. Opt for delivery related billing active.
- Select the desired delivery in Billing due list. (Press Ctrl Key from keyboard to select multiple lines).
- Then you have 2 option
1. To click on Collective Billing button to do a collective invoice for the selected delv doc.
2. To analysis whether you will be able to a collective billing or not. To analysis that
- click on simulation button.
- Billing Doc Simulate: Billing Doc Overview Screen
- Select all lines.
- There first go for Logs, by pressing Log button.
- Then click on Split Analysis button to get split analysis.
- If you find any split reason and modify/adjust your copying control accordingly to do combine billing
- Finally, click on Collective Billing button to do a collective invoice for the selected delv doc.

How to split a parallell-page PDF into single-page PDF

My situation: I have a few hundred pages of files I made quite a few years ago, optimized for "self-publishing" via the printer. I no longer have any source files (my own bad). These files have 2 pages next to each other in an A4 landscape PDF. I would like to change and combine these files into a US Letter portrait PDF.
I have browsed earlier, similar threads, most notably the most referred to thread:

which recommends using Adobe PDF printer. However, as this thread points out, and as I for one have found on my own system (10.8.3), Adobe PDF printer is no longer an option on Mac OS X (version 10.6 and on):

So the question then is: How do we now split double-page landscape PDFs into single-page portrait PDFs?

Since at least OSX.5 adobe has removed PDF Printer which was begining to fail it was written in Adobe's altered version of javascript and it was a wonder it was working to begin with They replaced it with an Automator action that's called up through the print Driver.
Here are the steps for applications other than Acrobat.
create you doucument. laying it out the way you want it.
Go to Print menu.
click and hold the pdf button - a context menu pops up.
now scan the list of choices and choose Adobe PDF or Adobe Quality PDF (depends on version of OS)
wait for direction fields to come up and make the desired choices (the first screen is basically job options).
when asked ask for name either ecept name give or choose name of your choice.
Browse to desired location for file
then click save.
How the PDF is layed out in acrobat is determinedby acrobat. Adobe add an additional Layer on top of the Print Driver. You can by pass it and use the Print Driver but if there is an orientation switch in your docment the page is turned so everything comes out with same edge of Paper
Oh, look out for a Grand idea Adobe did that even Forest Gump would have left alone.
If you want to do duplex printing to a PDF with more than one page you won't be able to do so whether you have your printer setup for duplex printing. You can go back and forth from printer setting s to Printer setting toggling off and on til you turn blue in the face. You have to go into the document properties and loo for a command called SIMPLEX printing its on by default and needs to be turned off. Even my cat Boots would be smart enough not to put that in.
This settinging does not permanently turn off and you have to do with each document you create or resave.

Why is Merge into single pdf using InDesign CS3 and not CS4 ?

I'm new to this so the question may be trivial, but it beats me:
I've created some InDesign files in CS4 and want to combine them into one PDF. So I opened Acrobat 9 Pro and
navigated to "Merge files into single pdf". I chose the CS4 InDesign files to Add and clicked the Combine Files button.
BUT, this starts up InDesign CS3 and not InDesign CS4 and returns a pop-up saying "unidentified error".
Why is starting CS3 InDesign and not CS4, and what is the "unidentified" error ! ?
As background I intially installed CS3 and then updated to CS4, leaving the CS3 applications intact. When I initially
bought CS3, just before CS4 was released I may have created pdfs from InDesign as an experiment, but it is possible I have not done this
since upgrading to CS4.

Thanks Michael, I was not aware of quality issues. Actually this is not really significant for my usage this time. What I'm doing is just using ID to capture notes/images/links etc in several free format ID documents. I then planned to merge them quickly into one pdf using Acrobat. I can easily shuffle the file order around to create a handy portable pdf reference document with the Merge feature.
Doing something similar from ID seemed to me to require me to create pdfs for each ID doc and them to merge them in Acrobat. I did start to write a simple script to do this in ID, but I then realised that I wanted the ordering to vary and the ID files would likely to change. Then I found the merge and bingo, that solved it..... Well it solved it on another CS4 installation that had never seen CS3, but not on my machine which had been upgraded from CS3.
I tried looking in the registry for obvious entries that might point Acrobat to use ID CS3 rather than CS4, but couldn't spot anything. I wonder if there is something buried in there ?

Sort similar data into columns

I have a data set something liek this:
1 2 3 4 5
3 4 5
2 3 4 5
2 5
What I would like to be able to do is find a simple way of putting all the similar values into 1 column, like the following:
1 2 3 4 5
0 0 3 4 5
0 2 3 4 5
0 2 0 0 5
In my code I am not actually trying to match exact numbers, I am trying to put in columns numbers that are a few decimal places apart, so numbers like 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3 would be in a single column. Anyone know an easy way to do this?

The bit highlighted in red is the assumption you have made that is wrong. If the peaks are at different points you have a problem...
What you need to do is create a mega array of all the data points and find out how wide that would be:
e.g
1,2,4
1,2,4.5
these would still combine to make an array of 3 columns as all of the columns have the same data values.
1,2,3
1,2,4
these would combine to make an array of 4 columns (3 in IT speak and if indexing). The columns would be 1,2,3,4
If you have too much data to add together into 1 mega array and get the overall width first, the ther are other ways of doing it, I'm just pointing you at the simplest to implement. The other ways require more thought and debugging. (Think outside the box once you can see the problem).
