Cluster 3.0 hafoip_stop problem

I have 2 Netra 1405T's running Sol9 and SunCluster3.0
most of my resources switch over (either manually or automatic) with no
issues, however looks like my hafoip is getting hung-up somehow causing
the host that is moving to standby to reboot.
Any help/ideas would be great!
log sample:
Nov 26 14:11:34 host last message repeated 107 times
Nov 26 14:11:42 host Cluster.PNM: PNM system error: SIOCLIFREMOVEIF of qfe2:0: Address family not supported by protocol family
Nov 26 14:11:42 host SC[SUNW.LogicalHostname,psql-harg,theq,hafoip_stop]: NAFO logical interface configuration operation failed with <-1>.
Nov 26 14:11:42 host Cluster.RGM.rgmd: Method <hafoip_stop> failed on resource <hostname> in resource group <psql-harg>, exit code <1>
Nov 26 14:11:42 host Cluster.RGM.rgmd: fatal: Aborting this node because method <hafoip_stop> failed on resource <hostname> and Failover_mode is set to HARD
Thanks!

Sounds like a misconfiguration. If you have a cluster of hosts: h1 and h2 and a logical host lh1, then the /etc/hosts file on both nodes should be something like:
192.168.0.1 h1
192.168.0.2 h2
192.168.0.3 lh1
(or some other suitable subnet).
You would then register your resources as follows:
scragdm -a -g dummy-rg
scrgadm -a -L -g dummy-rg -l lh1
etc. This would create you a movable logical host. If you configure it with one of the h1 or h2 hosts, all hell will break loose.

  • Sun Cluster 3.2u3 clprivnet0 problem

    Hello,
    I have a strange behaviour after building a cluster. Everything looks fine, and working EXCEPT for the clprivnet0 interface. The communication over this interface is not successful, for example creating a metaset or listing IPMP groups fails with a timeout for 172.16.4.1 - 172.16.4.2.
    Strangely there is communication, because snooping the clprivnet0 interface I can see during a ping for example (or metaset creation try) that the ARP request and reply is going through, but after that the communication is not continued (ICMP, TCP).
    The system is a Solaris 10u8, Sun Cluster 3.2u3. I have built the system with Solaris10u8 with Recommend Patchcluster from May EISDVD, and also just plain Solaris 10u8. I have to use u8 due to software requirement (also the same for 3.2u3) - ACSLS software.
    Anyone had such an issue, or have an idea what could be the problem? This thing is really wierd and fighting with it for a week.

  • Weblogic Portal in Cluster-Mode : Synchronization Instance problem

    I've got 2 different servers running Portal with Avitek example
    On the first server, I've got The Admin Server and the first Managed Server of my cluster.
    On the second server, I've got my second Managed Server of my cluster and the Synchronisation Server.
    Question 1 : Should the Synchronization Server be a managed server or not ?
    Question 2 : As Admin Server should not respond to any customer requests, can I deploy all applications only on my Managed and Sync servers (except p13nConsole of course)?

    DataSync WebApp
    | |
    | |
    Managed 1 Managed 2
    Data Sync WebApp DataSync WebApp
    [ all three machines share a database ]
    So you configure your admin machine to not have any of the EJBs deployed, just an instance of the DataSync WebApp. You configure the DataSync WebApp (through Servlet context parameters) and give it the URLs which the other two managed machines Data Sync WebApps are listening on.
    Once you are in production you can disable the DataSync WebApps on the managed machines to ensure no one can send data to them directly.
    You can places the sync server on either a managed node or the admin machine. It doesn't matter too much from a technical standpoint which - it depends on your licensing requirements etc.
    By default the Master DR on an admin machine will use the RDBMS in read/write mode, while the Master DRs on the managed machines will use read-only mode (so you don't get redundant writes). If you move the sync server onto one of the managed machines you will have to explicilty put it into read/write mode by setting the System properties: data.sync.jdbc.master.dr (read/write RDBC) or (data.sync.jdbc.read.only.master.dr read-only JDBC).
    You can check your configuration from the Data Sync management pages:

  • Cluster to dynamic conversion problem

    I would like to do a FFT for a sine waveform using TDS 3054B. I get the sine from the osilliscope, which privider the Amp. of 10000 points and X, deltaX step values. I want to draw its power spectrum. How can I connect them? The data type Cluster and Dynamic don't fit each other.

    Use the Build Waveform primitive rather than the Bundle Cluster. Although the waveform datatype is basically a cluster, you need to use the special tools to make it.

  • Callmanager Inter cluster trunk - 6608 MGCP problem

    Hi
    We have two callmanager clusters linked together with an Inter cluster link and then there is a 6608 GW registered with one cluster here below is a logical ASCII drawing of the setup.
    6608--Cluster1--Cluster2
    Calls that are made to and from the Cluster1 that the GW is registered to work fine.
    But calls that are made to and from the Cluster2 that is on the other end of the Inter cluster trunk ring once and are then disconnected.
    I have gone over all codec settings for all the regions and they are all set to G711.
    I also tried the same thing with a H323 GW like this.
    H323GW--Cluster1--Cluster2
    And then all calls work fine.
    If anyone has any clue on this I would really appreciate some input.
    Kind regards
    Gudmundur Thor Johannsson

    Sounds like MGCP is not supported on callmanager for inter-cluster gateway . Or it could be a bug. Any thoughts?????

  • Static member problem in multiple instance of  web application

    Problem
    I am working on a product which is java based. I have a war file. I have to deploy this war file in JBoss. Further, I need to run multiple instance of this war file in same JBoss instance.
    Issue
         In that war file there is servlet Start.java. That servlet calls an other class from its init method. Here is code
    public class Start extends HttpServlet
         public void init(ServletConfig config) throws ServletException
              super.init(config);
              DB.loadProperties (db.properties);
         } // init
         public void doGet(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
              throws ServletException, IOException
                   } // doGet
         public void doPost(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
              throws ServletException, IOException
                   } // doPost
    } // Start
    public final class DB implements Serializable
         public static final String     P_UID = "ApplicationUserID";
         private static final String     DEFAULT_UID = "System";
         public static final String     P_PWD = "ApplicationPassword";
         private static final String     DEFAULT_PWD ="System";
         public static final String     P_STORE_PWD = "StorePassword";
         private static Properties           s_prop = new Properties();
    public static boolean loadProperties (String filename)
         {    // looks for properties file
    s_prop = new Properties();
              FileInputStream fis = null;
              try
                   fis = new FileInputStream(filename);
                   s_prop.load(fis);
                   fis.close();
              catch (FileNotFoundException e)
                   log.warning(filename + " not found");
                   loadOK = false;
         }
    As you can see if I deployed two instance of this war in JBoss and assume each instance point to its own properties file. The Static members are problem.
    Restriction
         I am not allowed change the code or logic of the product. I must be able to get some thing outside or apply a patch to solve this problem.
    Please Help
    Possible option that I have thought
    1 Using multiple JVM - Not an option in this project
    2 Using multiple JBoss Not the requirement (need to run only on single Instance of JBoss)
    3 Use own class loader for war/ear dont know how in JBoss need help.
    I am using JBoss 3.2.3
    Thanks,

    Static members belong to the class. So, you needto
    think of multiple JVMs for your problem.Thanks for reply.

  • OC4J 9.0.3 cluster member on W2K

    Hello,
    We have troubles with configuring our application server cluster. Our cluster consists of two computers, first is running W2K and second Linux. Our network is multicast enabled. We choose folowing settings :
    rmi.xml on both servers, admin user and password are the same
    <cluster host="230.0.0.1" port="9000" id="1" username="admin" password="orion" />
    server.xml on Linux
    <cluster id="11" />
    server.xml on W2K
    <cluster id="12" />
    The problem is, that command "ping -t 230.0.0.1" reports "timed out" when runnig the W2K server first, so it seems that deamon on W2K that listens on multicast address doesn't start.
    When we start Linux server first, everything is ok, ping reports time in milliseconds.
    In fact it means that cluster does'n work, servers in cluster doesn't discover themselves.
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance.

    Radim -- I believe that you have run into a previously reported issue with the 9.0.3 Developer Preview. There is
    currently no known workaround for the problem that you encountered. We intended the Developer Preview to show
    some specific J2EE 1.3 functionality and therefore did not go to the normal lengths we do for our production releases.
    Also, we are planning on using this mechanism in the future to show new functionality to the community and to
    get feedback on it. I know that we will release another Developer Preview but not for the next few weeks. This
    functionality will be available in our 2.0 production release which should be available before the next Developer Preview.
    Thanks -- Jeff

  • Cluster Quorum Disk failing inside Guest cluster VMs in Hyper-V Cluster using Virtual Disk Sharing Windows Server 2012 R2

    Hi, I'm having a problem in a VM Guest cluster using Windows Server 2012 R2 and virtual disk sharing enabled.
    It's a SQL 2012 cluster, which has around 10 vhdx disks shared this way. all the VHDX files are inside LUNs on a SAN. These LUNs are presented to all clustered members of the Windows Server 2012 R2 Hyper-V cluster, via Cluster Shared Volumes.
    Yesterday happened a very strange problem, both the Quorum Disk and the DTC disks got the information completetly erased. The vhdx disks themselves where there, but the info inside was gone.
    The SQL admin had to recreated both disks, but now we don't know if this issue was related to the virtualization platform or another event inside the cluster itself.
    Right now I'm seen this errors on one of the VM Guest:

  • Error while starting Java in cluster

    Hi Everyone,
    While starting java instance in cluster facing problem.Other instances is working file Database , ERS and SCS except Java
    When  VCS ( Cluster Software) try to start Java not able to find Jlaunch Process .
    NW version is 7.3 ehp1.
    Error says : Missing Process JLAUNCH though jc exsist.
    Even i cant find any jlaunch process in nw 7.3 ehp1.
    jstart process is there instead of jlaunch.
    Kindly suggest .
    Regards
    Adil

    Hi All,
    Get reply from Symantec which saying that jlaunch process is nessasary for running the cluster.Cluster is not able to find JLAUNCH process.But normal condition without cluster SAP work fine.Problem is coming when its trying to start JAva instance in cluster.Not find any JLAUNCH process in NW 7.3 ehp1.
    I am pasting log from Symantec:-
    SAP process  [sapstart]
    PID File     [/tmp/.VRTSSAPNW04/PI_J00/PID/pidfile.sapstart] (No such file in this path)
    Srch Process [sapstart pf=.*SID.*J00.*hostname01]
    FFLM Status  [110]
    Thus we need to check whether this file "/tmp/.VRTSSAPNW04/PI_J00/PID/pidfile.jlaunch" exist during the start process or not.
    Which means that this process "jlaunch" is necessary for the SAP resource instance to come online
    Checked this link in which telling there will be no jlaunch process any more from 7.1.
    Why there is no jlaunch process in PI Netweaver 7.31 ?

  • FTP receiver problem

    Hello,
    I have read lots of threads for FTP receiver problems wiht overwriting files....
    But I am not sure which is the correct solution.
    We have:
    - Cluster (6nodes), PI711  (SP03)
    - a time stamp shoudl be in the file name
    - there is dynamice filename, because first char of the filename must be set from mapping
    - each mesasge must be put in a single file (not APPEND mode)
    After few test it seems that files are overwriten.
    I tried ADD MESSAGEID, which seems to work correctly, but with dynamic filenametimestampmsgid the filename is to long for the next application.
    I saw in a note, that the cluster can be the problem....
    Any idea how I can solve my problem?
    Does "use temporaly filename" help?
    How is it used correctly????
    best reagrds
    Werner

    Hi Werner,
    In Processing Parameters tab, keep the file construction mode as "Add timestamp" and in the Putfile use" Use Temporary file". This should help you...

  • ClassNotFound Exception accessing EJBs in a cluster

    I am experiencing some weird behavior when attempting to access EJBs in a
              Weblogic 5.1.0 cluster. The cluster nodes startup fine, and the EJBs are
              correctly deployed. However, when my test client attempts to access them I
              get the ClassNotFoundException listed below. This same client can access the
              same EJBs deployed in a non-clustered environment without any problems, so
              it's definitely related to my cluster configuration. The problem seems to be
              that the client is not receiving the client-side stub. To confim this, I put
              the stub in the client's classpath, and did NOT get the
              ClassNotFoundException. Has anyone else seen this error?
              BTW, I have compiled the EJB both with and without the <home-is-clusterable>
              flag set to true. I get the same exception either way.

  • Cluster Database Connect Works Only in stand-alone OEM

    When I connect to OEM standalone, I can connect to the cluster database with no problem. When I try to connect with the management server, it gives me the ORA-12514 error. The service name works both in SQLplus and in stand-alone mode.
    My console is running on a windows XP machine, the management server and OEM catalog are on a machine running 9.2, the cluster resides on two other machines running 9.2.
    What do I need to change to get OEM to let me open the cluster database using the management server?

    Try to create a service like this one and try:
    joel.us.acme.com=
    (description=
    (load_balance=on)
    (failover=on)
    (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=host1)(port=1521))
    (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=host2)(port=1521))
    (address=(protocol=tcp)(host=host3)(port=1521))
    (connect_data=
    (service_name=joel.us.acme.com)))

  • Message Bridge to Cluster

    Hey guys,
    I'm trying to configure a message bridge to a cluster of servers. When configuring the destination portion of the bridge, I entered server 1 connection url and messages went to that one server. I shut the server down to see if the bridge would send messages to any of the other servers and it didn't.
    So in the destination bridge connection url I entered all the addresses of the servers in the cluster and got the following error when restarting the JMS server:
    <Feb 22, 2010 2:00:09 PM EST> <Warning> <Connector> <BEA-190032> << eis/jms/WLSC

    xtFactory =weblogic.jndi.WLInitialContextFactory, url = t3://localhost:9015,t3:/
    /localhost:9016,t3://localhost:9017, user name = null) ">
    Do I need a separate bridge for each server or how would I configure the bridge to randomly pick a server to send message to?
    In the cluster there is a distributed queue module targeted to all the machines in the cluster.
    Thanks for viewing and any helpful replies

    Changed the connection url to the cluster url address fixed problem :)
    But its still not working :(
    Think the problem now is my cluster jms server. It's currently targeted to my first server in the cluster, which is the one I'm shutting down. In the articles I've read supposely the jms sever will move to another server within the cluster?
    Help!
    Thanks
