Cluster on two desktop PCs

hi
is there any one who has experienced the cluster creation on two or more desktop PCs conenctd with each other using simple network wihtout any external storage disk array (Using normal hard disks found in PCs)
is it possible? if yes then can anyone guide me for this and tell me about an artical on that?

using simple networkI suspect this will be a problem.
If you just want to play with RAC in a laboratory kind of way, have you considered VMWare. There is a very interesting article on the DBA Support site.

I am a bit confused, according to http://www.adobe.com/be_en/products/acrobatstandard/faq.html one license on 2 PCs are OK.
But according to http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/end-user-license-agreements-faq.html and several threads I got via google one license on 2 PCs are limited.
What is right now? I need it for 2 desktop PCs in one company, and they do have to work at the same time of course.

If you need the two installations to be used at the same time then you need to purchase two licenses. A single user license is exactly that, a single user at a time.

There is one exception to that rule ... If you purchase Lr4 from the Mac App Store ... you can have it installed on up to 5 computers that you own and regeistered to your Apple ID as per the MAS EULA ...

Can a BO XI R2 Cluster Span Two Subnets?

We were able to setup a BO XI R2 two server cluster using two servers on the same subnet.
Server A at IP address -.-.---.45
Server B at IP address -.-.---.46
Schedule reports and ad hoc queries through the web servers (on both machines) operated without issue. [The two servers share a Sybase database and a NetApp file system.]
We then attempted to setup a BO XI R2 two server cluster, but with the two servers in different data centers and on different subnets. [Everything else is the same ... shared Sybase database, shared NetApp file system.] The two servers are able to ping each other without any trouble. Unfortunately, the reports we schedule only seem to run on the server where they were introduced. [Reports introduced on Server A only run on Server A - even if Server B goes down. And, vise versa.]
We are wondering if there is some communications between the two servers that requires the servers to be on the same subnet.

We have had customers and employees successfully configure clustered CMS's across subnets, we have also had plenty of issues (especially if the subnets are geographically seperated by WAN links).
You may want to open a case with support as some extensive tracing and analysis may be required. If no filtering is occurring and the link has enough bandwidth then it should work. CMS communication to the CMS DB is rather extensive so weithout enough bandwidth I'd expect all kinds of issues. I'm not sure how much would be enough but to be safe I'd say at least the same pipe of the server NIC(s)

Can I have two identical PCs with clones of the same hard drive?

This all started when I had a problem with my first pc, a gateway laptop, would not wake up from sleep due to, supposedly, a driver problem. I didn't want to send it off for my free, under-warrantee, repair and be without a computer for however long that
would take. So I bought another one and took it to a local dealer to clone the hard drive of the first one to put on the new one.
This created a number of odd problems which eventually I figured out had something to do, it seemed, with Microsoft not allowing two identical machines to exist like that. I only plan to use one, the other one being exclusively for backup or in case something
happened to the first. But I think the problems occurred when I tried to switch back and forth, to do some texting.
Is there a way I can accomplish this?

Until Windows 7, it was possible to use two identical PCs with same clone. Provided, both the PCs must be legally licensed to use the Windows operating system (version as well as edition) and of same OEM, model and spec. This is possible because, the product
keys are common for all the PCs of same OEM build (if preinstalled, and the installed product key is different from the one mentioned in COA). This made OEM builders to distribute to more PCs than the license agreement, which is impossible for Microsoft to
find out. To solve this issue, Microsoft changed the licensing structure from Windows 8 - embedding the product key in BIOS. So, here, only the installation is provided and the product keys are not common for all the PCs even if they are of the same OEM build.
Therefore, cloning fails here. And naturally, as Team Zigzag and EC Ltd say, same product key can't be used for more than one PC.
As to restore the PC in case of an emergency, you can perform a backup of the existing installed software and user files, which can be restored later (File History in Windows 8). The following links may be helpful:

No it is not possible. Content purchased from the iTunes Store is permanently tied to the account from which it was originally purchased, and Apple does not provide a way to change it.

I've been having the same exact problem this morning, and from the looks of it a lot of other people are posting about this issue, so I don't know if it's maybe something wrong with the download but I'm just relieved that it seems to be that instead of a corruption issue with my windows installation. How many servers required to deploy RD Gateway to physical desktop PCs

We want to setup RD Gateway for users to reach their desktop PCs from the Internet. There are connecting to physical computers, not VMs or VDI.
While the RD Gateway server itself could be a Hyper-V VM, we are not hosting VMs or VDI for the users to log into. Everyone will be using the RD Gateway to log into their physical desktop PC.
How many Windows servers are required just to get it running for an initial small number of users to pilot?
We can add more servers if there is such a heavy traffic load in the future than the server cannot handle it, but for now I would like to know what is the minimum amount of separate Windows servers required just to make it function to securely pass RDP connections
through from the Internet to an internal desktop PC.
Do we need just one server to be a RD Gateway or do we need the Gateway plus a second server to be Connection Broker and third Windows server to be a licensing server?
Do we need a separate Connection Broker server at all to allow users to connect to physical computers?

White box appears while switching between two desktops

Hello all,
Since few weeks I have a problem when I switch between two Desktops. Everytime I switch between them a white box appears in the left corner of my screen (see screenshot).

Please read this whole message before doing anything.
This procedure is a diagnostic test. It’s unlikely to solve your problem. Don’t be disappointed when you find that nothing has changed after you complete it.
The purpose of the test is to determine whether the problem is caused by third-party software that loads automatically at startup or login, by a peripheral device, or by corruption of certain system caches.
Disconnect all wired peripherals except those needed for the test, and remove all aftermarket expansion cards. Boot in safe mode and log in to the account with the problem. Note: If FileVault is enabled on some models, or if a firmware password is set, or if the boot volume is a software RAID, you can’t do this. Ask for further instructions.
Safe mode is much slower to boot and run than normal, and some things won’t work at all, including sound output and Wi-Fi on certain iMacs. The next normal boot may also be somewhat slow.
The login screen appears even if you usually log in automatically. You must know your login password in order to log in. If you’ve forgotten the password, you will need to reset it before you begin. Test while in safe mode. Same problem? After testing, reboot as usual (i.e., not in safe mode) and verify that you still have the problem. Post the results of the test.

How to Break the cluster between Two servers

Hi Experts,
Since Iu2019m new to BOBJ XI R2.I would like to know how to break the cluster between two servers.
Description :
So far we took the copy of QAS Server1 to the new QAS server2 (Through Mirroring Tool ). Now those two servers are cluster together, I can see QAS server1 CMS Name, Cluster Name, cluster member name in QAS Server2 (CMC-> Setting -> Cluster).
Besides in QAS Server1 CMS Name and Cluster name are pointing to the QAS Server1, except Cluster Member (This is still have two members Server1 and Server2).(CMC-> Setting -> Cluster).
In QAS Server1 and QAS Server2 (CMS-> Servers), I can able see both server name under Machine Name tab.
I would like to make those two servers as independent servers. There are two different data source for those two servers. I want to remove the cluster in both servers.
Right now QAS Server1 is running and QAS Server2 is stopped.
If i create/modify a group under new Mapped NT Member Groups in QAS server2 ,it is getting reflecting in QAS server 1.
Could you please tell me the steps to resolve this problem.

Hi,
Maybe the external CMS is still 'attached' to your SIA node. Please go to the CCM (Central Configuration Manager) and stop the SIA (Server Intelligent Agent). On one of the tabs you can see if there is an external CMS part of your environment. Delete it and restart the SIA. Retry if you can delete the services now from within your CMS. It may well be that you have to stop both environments and delete each others CMS via the CCM to get it working. If you have not changed any permissions for your Administrator account the security model will not be the one causing this.
