Cluster state VS server state: different server status?
hello people!<br>
i have a little trouble and i hope that you can helpme to solve.<br>
i am working in a topology like this<br>

then, you can see that the server States is wrong........<br>
<br>
i check the file running-managed-servers.xml but the server states in this file is all right<br>
<br>
what is wrong.........any tips?<br>

luckyly the problem was fixed, apparently was some certificate issue whitin the managed servers and the admin server.<br>
<br>
The servers with wrong status do not have ssl port avaiable<br>
once solved the certificate issue this began to work fine.

While installing sql server 2012 with failover clustering I got the following error:
The cluster resource 'SQL Server' could not be brought online. Error: There was a failure to call cluster code from a provider. Exception message: Generic failure. Status code: 5942. Description: The resource failed to come online due to the failure of one
or more provider resources.
The two nodes of the sql server failover have been successfully prepared. The error came while running the advance cluster completion option.
In the clustered events in failover cluster manager the following message is displayed:
Cluster resource 'SQL Network Name (CPCTestSQLClus)' of type 'Network name' in clustered role 'SQL Server (MSSQLSERVER)' failed.
I have done various checking and the issue remained. I tried to start the sqlPlease find below part of the content of the cluster log. I hope this is helpful in resolving the issue:

Hi everyone!
I have 3 IDM servers (IDM1, IDM2 and IDM3) on different machines (IDM version 5.5) connected to one MySQL (Version 4.1) Database on other machine.
IDM1 has "Active" status and IDM2 and IDM3 "Restored" status. You can see the status server in "Configure->Servers" in Administrator Interface.
The problem is IDM1 can edit objects when other IDM has acceded to edit this object before and has the lockt. IDM1 always unlock the object and can edit the object. (I suppose is because IDM1 is "Active"). If I shutdown IDM1, I can change the status of the other servers to "Active" restarting those. But if I restart IDM1 it changes the status of the other servers to "Restored".
My questions are how can i control de status of IDM1 (because i dont't want that it changes the status of the other servers) and how works the server status?
Thanks for allLocking of objects is based on the hostname or a serverId. That value has to be unique even in clustered / multi instances on one machine. See the manuals on clusters for that.
Server states:
active: server is up and running (normal situation)
inactive: server id down (normal shutdown)
failed: the server has been detected as failed but not completely processed
recovered: the server is ready for restart, all tasks etc have been cleaned
This is all based on the server heart beat and the values set in the server object which are part of the repo.

Hi,
Recently we had an example of a process sever going into the "unknown" state. We didn't know about the condition and jobs were I assume queued up for execution. Since they were not killed or canceled we did not receive any notification.
Is there a simple method of monitoring the process server status that we can then leverage to send some notification in the event of a non "running" status. Thanks.

Not sure if this applies with the standalone version, but our Redwood CPS runs on SAP 700 SP15, but the patches I refered to earlier are found on the main screen of Redwood after logging in, and clicking on the 'Product Information' logo (Big letter i) in the top right hand corner. Should say something like:

Replication state is very easy to see in 4.x and earlier. The last changenumber in the supplier changelog is visible (on the root DSE IIRC), and each consumer suffix has an operational attribute "copiedfrom" that tells you the name of the supplier, the database generation id, and the last change replayed from the supplier.
So a script that compares the results of
ldapsearch -h <supplier> -s base -b "" "objectclass=*" lastchangenumber
and
ldapsearch -h <consumer> -s base -b <base_suffix> "objectclass=*" copiedFrom
will show you if a replica has fallen out of sync. It won't tell you more than how many changes behind the replica is, though, because pre-5.x changenumbers are sequential integers, not timestamps.
However, the change that corresponds to the changenumber is clearly visible under the "cn=changelog" suffix. So if you look at the change itself you can see the timestamp on it.
For more info on the status of replication, you should be able to query the agreements on the supplier. Those live under the "Netscape Machine Data Suffix", which you can also find on the supplier's root DSE:
ldapsearch -h <supplier> -s base -b "" "objectclass=*" netscapemdsuffix
And of course the error logs will usually tell you if replication is failing outright.
I may be off on some of the attribute names, but if you do some investigating along these lines, you should be able to figure it out. -

Hi I recently had a JMS failer, it just stopped working and I noticed my /var directory was maxed out. I found huge log/stats files under /var/opt/SUNWam/stats/, so I moved these to a filesystem with more space so I can examine them later [does anybody know what they monitor and how to configure the monitoring intervals etc]. I restarted the system and then started directory server, I noticed entries were being made to these files [so I think they are ok].
The big problem now is Messenger's store server status fails so it will not start at all. This is what I get:

-JamesThanks Jay what I think happend was the /var went to 100% and mail stopped [I cleared out some am stats/logs]. Now I am not sure why stored would want to write to this partition I have store [all my users] on another disk, but maybe I left a few test accounts on the original default partition. J2EE Process Table Server0 J2EE server status is not started
Dear Experts,
When I open J2EE Enging Visual Administrator and choose default connection as usual, I am getting an error "Unable to lookup connection default
http://<server>:8101/msgserver/text/logon returned empty list of connection parameters"
I have checked in sapmmc and found that server0 status is "stopped" and disp+work.EXE in Process List is showing status "Running, Message Server connection ok, Dialog Queue time: 0.00 sec, J2EE some processes running".
I have checked server0 log file and this is part of error.

Caused by: com.sap.security.api.UMException: Cannot find first configured anonymous user: J2EE_GUEST: USER_AUTH_FAILED: User account for logonid "J2EE_GUEST" not found!"
This problem has been occurred after I have accidentally changed the computer name.
I found many threads in sap commutinity that posted the problem seemed like my problem, and I followed the steps to solve but I am still getting this problem.
Right now the Basis guy helps me on this, but has not get the answer yet.
Any suggestions and information would be appriciate.

check the SAPJSF User which is Communication User between Abap and Java Stack and there password must be synchronized between Abap and java.
Open Config Tool and go to cluster-data -> Global Server
Configuration->Sevices->com.sap.security.ume.service.
Select the property ume.r3.connection.master.passwd
and setup the proper password there.
Save the changes.

Webmin System and Server Status : shows Apache Webserver as 'Down' ?
Hi guys, I'm currently going through setting up my home server with Arch (first time Arch user).
I have apache installed alongside webmin.
In the 'System and Server Status' I am setting up some alerts and monitors but have noticed that 'Apache Webserver' is showing as down (it clearly isn't because I am viewing webmin from work, and I have SSH'd in to restart apache with success a few times). Also the module is not listed under 'Servers' - instead it is displayed under 'Unused modules' ??
Just wondering if there is something different with Arch that I need to point webmin to so it recognises Apache?
[ Also, same thing is happening with SSH being detected as down although it is working kind of - I believe my port-forward isn't working as I can only SSH to my desktop then to my server, not from web to server ]

In administration server (machine A) I defined two servers to be run in
machine A and machine B:

in machine A
I'm going to bind a same service into these above servers of my DECluster.
In machine B's startManagedWeblogic.sh I have:

have identical domain directory structure within machine B and do I have to
configure something with admin console or is everything handled by
connecting to the administation server and reading the domain's config.xml
from machine A.
I'm sure I have missed some fundamental idea for building clustered services
and would greatly appreciate if someone had any good tips or ideas.

It appears you had set the administration port & listen port on the admin
server.
Logging onto admin server via admin port is broken currently. I wouldsuggest
you to set only listen port
and see how that goes.

FPGA compiler Server status says idle but Status says compiling VHDL
when i compile my FGPA vi file , after some time in the compile server window "Server status" shows "idle.." but the status box shows "Compiling VHDL".
It stays in this condition for a long time about 30 mins. Why is this happening? I am also attaching the screenshot of the compile server.
FPGA vi i am trying to compile is the Sine Generator.vi which was there in examples under FPGA Fundamanetals->Analysis and Controls.

Active-Passive Failover cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2
Hi,
As per the client requirements, I build an active-passive Oracle 11g R2 database cluster in Windows Server 2008 R2.
(Used Microsoft cluster as Client don't have Fail Safe licence)
As per the configuration, I follow the below mentioned steps:
a)OS vendor configured Active-Passive Windows Cluster
b)Installed Oracle 11g R2 on both the nodes with same ORACLE_HOME name
c)Create Listener and configured it with cluster IP in Node1
d)Create Database from Node1. Physical files location are all in Storage
e)Create Oracle Service with the same name in the 2nd node and copy all the files like spfile,tnsnames.ora,listener.ora,password file to Node2
f)Configure Listener with the same Oracle SID.
g)Test database failover from Node2 with Listener registration
h)Open the Windows Failover Manager to configure the Oracle Database and Listener Service in the Cluster Group
Now I am facing problem by moving Cluster Group movement. Whenever trying to moving the group, Listerner service is not getting up by Cluster Manager as quorum is not included in the group and that quorum disk is not moving in the failover node with the Oracle Cluster Group. As per my understanding Quorum having information of Cluster IP which has been configured with Listener.
But when I am shutdown one node, then in the other node all the resources successfully moving and cluster able to online all the resources. I guess at that time Quorum is also moving and thus cluster can able to make Listener online.
Please suggest how to resolve this issue. Means how can I make Listener up instead having any dependencies with Quorum in the fail over node?
