Clustering Error:(
Hi
I have two sun solaris machines with weblogic server 6.1 SP1
I created 2 managed servers in called deployserverSL and deployserverLL on the
first machine.
I created 2 managed servers in called deployserverSL and deployserverLL on the
second machine.
Then I made two clusters called shortlive and longlive on both the machines and
added deployserverSL for shortlive cluster and then added deployserverLL for longlive
cluster.
I did the same thing in second machine(created two clusters and adding servers).
When I try to start the managed servers, I get the following errors.

Among other things it looks like you are deploying a queue to multiple
servers, which you cannot do because a queue must be pinned to exactly one
server (at least before 7.0 ;-).

Hi Patrizia,
I have been in touch with bea supoort since last two weeks. They are trying to
find out the reason for this error.
I have posted this question long back but nobody gave me answer.
I think nobody has done clustering successfully on wl6.0sp1.
If I find the reason I will let you know.
Thanks
Venkat

SOA Suite 11g Clustering error/oracle bug ?
Hi, i got several experiment to implement soa suite 11g clustering, in my company.. at this moment we still use development mode in our application server. now i'm trying to get into production and also i want cluster the server.. here is the chronology what i do.
i got 3 server :
my plan is
server #1 become an proxy server, let say the name is soa_proxy
server #2 become an cluster node, let say the name is soa_server1
server #3 become an cluster node, let say the name is soa_server2
so i start install & configure it (applications is running under Windows Server 2003)
1.*soa_proxy*
- Installing WebLogic server
- Installing SOA
- Create Repository with RCU (oracle 10g database)
2.*soa_server1*
- Installing WebLogic server
- Installing SOA
3.*soa_server2*
- Installing WebLogic server
- Installing SOA
after installation finished, then i create domain in soa_proxy server let say it name 'MyDomain', then i assign the soa_server1 and soa_server2 in cluster node named 'MyCluster', also i assign the soa_proxy server as a HTTP Proxy Server.. i'm following the instructions just like this link Link: [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/doc.1111/e13925/config_screens.htm#CJAEABGD]
all the installation seems good, but when i try to deploy my composite application into the proxy server 'soa_proxy' with JDev, i got error like this
Image: !http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/2122/error2z.jpg!
and when i go to Http://hostname:7001/em
i just see my composite deployed only in 'soa_server2'.
UPDATE : well, now the error was gone when deploying. but we still got little odd result,
when i deploy with jdev, it still fine, until i go to the enterprise manager. yess still.. my composite only deplyed in 'soa_server1'. i got some reference that we can copy the domain directory in soa_proxy and then paste into the server that not yet been deployed before. its seems oke..
i've been thinking, how if i got 10 node of cluster? 50 node of cluster ? should i copy the directory just like that ?? is there another charmed way to do it???
can somebody help me with this simple case?

Wildan

=======
here is my last trial to deploy the cluster environment, then i just got the same issues, our team here think thats the issues causing by oracle bug in code behind. for reminder what i do last experiment
1. we deploy/configure the domain (admin console, cluster node) then starting up all the services smoothly without no issues & as we saw in the console monitor we can see the cluster is syncronizing.
2. then we create simple composite.
3. we try to deploy the composite to the cluster domain, and what we got is the composite only deployed in one cluster node.
let me describe to clear it,
* first trial, when we deploy the composite, here is what we got in em console
*[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer1)*
[+] CompositeLabTest
*[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer2)*
in JDev we also saw this message (the project CompositeLabTest Deploy Process is skipped), some kind like that
* second time trial, we try to shut the SoaServer2 down, then restart it, what we got in em console
*[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer1)*
[+] CompositeLabTest
*[-] SoaInfra (SoaServer2)*
[+] CompositeLabTest
. so until today my soa suite 11g clustering experience is never going good practice.. any of you may had experience with clustering too, how that can be done? please respon...
thanks

Edited by: wildsoft on Apr 27, 2010 4:13 PMHi there.
Me too I have a similar problem with cluster deployment.
I have two different domains in two different phisical machine on the same LAN.
These domains are equals and the sole difference is regarding the IP configuration:
domain 1
machine 172.0.0.1
soaadmin 172.0.0.1
soa1 172.0.0.2
soa1 172.0.0.3
domain 2
machine 172.0.1.1
soaadmin 172.0.1.1
soa1 172.0.1.2
soa1 172.0.1.3
When I try to deploy a new composite from the EM this fails (it remains in waiting for a response like the followed)
<Jun 18, 2010 10:42:00 AM CEST> <Warning> <org.apache.myfaces.trinidadinternal.context.RequestContextImpl> <BEA-000000> <Could not find partial trigger idArchiveFileBrowserDialog from RichInputText[UIXEditableFacesBeanImpl, id=idArchiveLoc]>
Processing sar=/tmp/dir2448127768139530528tmp/sca_SOAComposite1_rev1.0.jar
Adding sar file - /tmp/dir2448127768139530528tmp/sca_SOAComposite1_rev1.0.jar
Creating HTTP connection to host:172.0.0.2, port:10002
What I checked:
In multicast configuration soa1 (domain1) sent the request to all soa servers in the LAN (even in that one that aren't configurated in his domain)
In unicast configuration soa1 (domain1) sent the request only to the soa2 (domain1) server but it remain in waiting for a response for all the time.
What it is strange is that if I stop the domain2 the request can be performed and my composite is deployed in both the servers.
Any idea about this strange behaviour?

SQL Server Failover Clustering error
Hi All,
I am currently setting up 2-node SQL Server cluster but I am getting error when doing the failover test from Node2 to Node1.
Here is the quick overview of what I have so far.
1. Setup the failover cluster for both nodes, public and private network, cluster disks for Quorum, MSDTC and SQL, etc.
2. Run validation configuration before creating the cluster. Validation report completed successfully with no errors/warnings.
3. Created cluster, created MSDTC cluster and installed SQL server on both nodes.
Now I am doing some failover test on whether cluster resources will failover from Node1 to Node2 and Node2 to Node1.
Failover Test: Active Node is Node1.
1. Disable Public network on Node1.
2. Failover to Node2 -> successful
3. Enable Public network on Node1.
Problem:
After the failover to Node1, I tried to failback the resources from Node2 to Node1 by disabling the public network on Node2 (which is the active Node after the failover from Node1 to Node2) but the cluster resources won't failback to Node1.
Failback from Node2 to Node1 -> failed
1. Disable Public network on Node2.
2. Failback to Node1 -> failed
- Cluster Name and Cluster IP ->
failed
- SQL cluster group (SQL name, SQL IP address, Analysis, SQL server and SQL Server Agent) ->
failed
MSDTC cluster group -> failed back successfully to Node1
3. Enable Public network on Node 2.
4. Manually online Cluster Group and SQL cluster group
I tried to Manually online the Cluster Group and SQL cluster group but it CANNOT be online unless I enable the Public network on Node2. I have checked on the cluster event log and I am getting some event ID 1077 and 1069 errors and Event ID 1069 and 1205.
Here are some of the logs on the cluster events.
Event ID 1069: The Cluster service failed to bring clustered service or application 'SQL_Group' completely online or offline. One or more resources may be in a failed state. This may impact the availability of the clustered service or application.
Event ID 1205: Cluster resource 'SQL IP Address 2 (db-vip)' in clustered service or application 'SQL_Group' failed.
Anyone experience the same issue before? Appreciate if someone can point me to right direction to resolve the issue.
Thanks in advance for your feedback.
BTW, failover and failback works perfectly when I try to reboot the Active node. Resources failed over successfully from Node1 to Node2 and vice versa when I reboot the server.
Thanks again.
Regards,
IvanHi,
In above node test process 6, after “disable public network on node 2” the two cluster should still have private heartbeat network communication, check can you ping node 1 now?
Check event viewer, whether you received Event 1069 in node 1? Refer to this article to troubleshoot this issue:
Event ID 1069 — Clustered Service or Application Availability
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc756225(WS.10).aspx
Check and correct any problems with the application or service associated with the resource. For example, if the application or service cannot start within reasonable time limits, diagnose and resolve the issues that cause slow starting.
Check and correct any problems with cables or cluster-related devices.
Adjust properties for the resource in the cluster configuration, especially the value for Pending timeout for the resource. This value must allow enough time for the associated application or service to start. For more information, see "Viewing the value
for Pending timeout for a resource."
To view the value for Pending timeout for a resource:
To open the failover cluster snap-in, click Start, click Administrative Tools, and then click Failover Cluster Management. If the User Account Control dialog box appears, confirm that the action it displays is what you want, and then click Continue.
In the Failover Cluster Management snap-in, if the cluster you want to manage is not displayed, in the console tree, right-click Failover Cluster Management, click Manage a Cluster, and then select or specify the cluster that you want.
If the console tree is collapsed, expand the tree under the cluster you want to manage, and then expand Services and Applications.
In the console tree, click a clustered service or application.
In the center pane, if you cannot see the clustered resource that you want to view, expand one or more visible resources until you see the clustered resource.
Right-click the resource you want to view, click Properties, and then click the Policies tab.
Under Pending timeout, view the setting. Make sure it allows enough time for the associated application or service to start.
For more information please refer to following MS articles:
Network failure detection and recovery in a two-node Windows Server 2000 cluster
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc756225(WS.10).aspx
Hope this helps!

Error updating eDirectory info on a Pool
Hi all,
I have several problems with pools/imanager. Main problem is that when I am updating eDirectory info
for a pool, I have a great error:
Error: Storage Error
IPRINT_POOL: Cannot update eDirectory for this pool. Error Number: Unknown error with error code: -672.
I have to say that I have deleted this pool and recreating again, I think that first time I dont have any errors.
The other error is when I try to create a pool via "cluster options" on the selected cluster, (selecting the cluster, click on new, pool)
when I write the name of the pool (then press TAB to write the IP), I have
Code:
Error: Clustering Error
Unknown error with error code: 499.
Any help will be welcome, I am a little lost with this thing... :(You can try a couple of things since the disk is visible there (even though the problem is in device or file system).
1. Try to read the first sector from the disk.
Example:
dd iflag=direct count=1 bs=512 if=/dev/sda > /dev/null
Replace "sda" with the name of your shared disk.
2. If you can read from the disk, run "evms_activate" and check again.
If none of the above works, please post it on NSS/Storage forum.
Regards,
Changju

Now, my problem is that I cant see pools on the second node on the cluster. If I run nss /pools I dont see anything, but I can see the cluster SBD partition and a 5 GB disk (this disks is used on the first node for the NSS Pool).
The second node is a virtual node, which has assigned the LUN of the shared disk.

All of a sudden, out of the blue, any management of any cluster resource in iManager yields this error:
Clustering Error: A system error has occurred while managing the clustering software (click the "More Info..." link below for the stack trace)
Error Message: CLUSTER-RESOURCE1: Could not online this resource. Error: Unknown error with error code: 499.
This happens on every imanager (all OES2 SP3 linux) and just started today (I think I used it last week okay)Can you online/offline resources through CLI?
If you cannot, please turn on NCS debugging (echo -n "TRACE CMA ON" > /proc/ncs/cluster; echo -n "TRACE CRM ON" > /proc/ncs/cluster) and check /var/log/messages for clues. You don't need to restart anything and you can turn them off (replace ON with OFF) afterwards.
If you can, it's likely an adminfs problem. Restarting the node should fix the problem.

NPE creating a new session on WebLogic Server 9.2
We're getting the following stack trace from WebLogic Server 9.2 when a page gets hit.
It appears to be a clustering error when creating a new session.
When there is only a single server left running, the pages are served correctly.
Any thoughts appreciated.

Did you get to the bottom of this?
We're experiencing exactly the same symptoms, except we're upgrading 8.1 -> 10.3

Are you still having this issue?
What browser are you using?
When version of iManager are you using?
What version of OES?
Can you run iManager on a different server and see if you duplicate the error?
When you log into iManager instead of TREE NAME, enter the IP# of the server you are trying to run iManager from?
See if this helps.

Yes, still having the issue.
I have tried both IE and FireFox along with the Remote iManager version
I have tried iManager 2.7.4 and I have updated to iManager 2.7.5
It is OES2SP3 with patches installed as of last Tuesday
I have run iManager from other servers, still get this error, or something of a very similar nature.
I have been using the IP address, we have had some issues in respect to the DNS name, IP address has always worked in the past. This was apparently working in June (at least that was the last time that it was reported as working

Summary
OK, this is way off. I don't in any way want to be unprofessional or rude but I'm not sure how to help without wasting you time or mine. So I'm going to take a few educated guesses and hope I'm helping you.
First I have a short note on how to do this here :
http://www.visi.com/~mseberg/data_guard_on_oracle_11_step_by_step.html
Second, you really need to understand the Oracle parameters needed by Data Guard so I would ask you read :
Data Guard Concepts and Administration 11g Release 2 (11.2) E10700-02
The section in chapter 3 "Set Primary Database Initialization Parameters"
Third, you say vmware. By that do you mean two separate vmware servers? A Primary and a Standby of something else?
More details here might help. Vmware is fine, but if I'm setting this up I want two Servers, one for the Primary and one for the Standby database.
Will still post the details of Standby INIt ASAP
Best Regards
mseberg

I've got a dane-elect multi-card reader.
I insert my canon 7D's compact flash card, delete a single picture,
and my card is ejected. I tried verifying it in disk utility, it unmounts
and I get a message saying that the disk was not ejected properly.
I just did a verify disk again, got this as an error:

any idea what could be causing this?I'm assuming this is an external disk connected directly to your computer. In that case, it's likely to be a loose or faulty cable connecting the drive to your machine. When it wiggles a little, the connection gets lost. (That also could cause corruption in your Time Machine backups when it happens in the middle of a backup... better repair that hard drive using Disk Utility!) You may be able to make it work more reliably by changing cables, or by leaving the machine untouched on a table or desk while the backups is running so it doesn't get bumped.
If the cable isn't the problem, it's possible the disk itself (or the enclosure it's in) is faulty, or that the port on your computer that you're connecting the drive to is damaged. -
Flash Drive will not format with Disk Utility
I am in need of help. I have looked through a ton of forums looking for the answer to this but can't find anything. I have a flash drive that I was using and while I was transfering a large file the drive unmounted and now it is showing "Read only". In the Disk Utility, the Erase and Repair are grayed out. When I verify the drive it says this:
Checking file system** /dev/disk1
** Phase 1 - Preparing FAT
** Phase 2 - Checking Directories
/CJB/myfolder/_Reference/AA45608_737_Livery_7b_RtRear_d_RGB.tif has too many clusters allocated (logical=1235222528, physical=1719664640)

Fix? no

I have also tried:
diskutil repairVolume CHAD
I have located the drive in terminal and this is what it says:
drwxrwxrwx@ 1 BDesign staff 8192 Dec 31 1979 CHAD
When I show information in Disk Utility it shows Writable No. Can anyone help me. I don't need the info on my Flash Drive. I just want to format it and get it working again.
ThanksSome flash drives have a failure mode in which they are irreversibly write-locked by the internal controller when it detects a write error. If the drive doesn't have a write-lock switch (most do not) and you can't erase it in Disk Utility, that's almost certainly what has happened. To be sure, test it with another computer, if possible.

We have an SSIS package that runs on clustered MSSQL 2012 Enterprise Nodes that is failing. We use a job to executer the package.
Environmental information:
Product - Microsoft SQL Server Enterprise: Core-based Licensing (64-bit)
Operating System - Microsoft Windows NT 6.1 (7601)
Patform - NT x64
Version - MSSQL Version 11.0.3349.0
Package is set to 32 -bit. All permissions verified. Runs in lower environments, same MSSQL version. All environments are clustered. In the failing environment, all nodes are at the same service pack. I have not verified if all
nodes in the failing environment have SSIS installed. Data access is installed. We have other simpler packages that run in this environment, just not this one. Time to ask the community for help!
Error:

(Left out shop specific information. This is the first error in the errors returns by the job history for this package. )
Thanks in advance.Hi DeveloperMax,
According to your description, the error occurs when you execute the package with Agent job on clustered MSSQL 2012 Enterprise Nodes.
As per my understanding, I think this issue can be caused by you use SQL Server Agent to schedule a SQL Server Integration Services package in a 64-bit environment. And the SSIS package is referencing some 32-Bit DLL or 32-Bit drivers which are available
only in 32-bit versions, so the job failed.
To fix this issue, we should use the 32-bit version of the DTExec.exe utility to schedule the 64-bit SQL Server Agent to run a package. To run a package in 32-bit mode from a 64-bit version of SQL Server Agent, we can go to the Job Step dialog box, then
select “32 bit runtime” in the Advanced tab.
Besides, we should make sure that SQL Server Integration Services is installed on the failing environment.
If there are any other questions, please feel free to ask.
Thanks,
Katherine Xiong
