CMSDK beginner Q - Oracle Portal integration

Hi.
I have to answer to this need:
Managing a complex object that has different type of docs (with versioning, approval etc), that has to be published in Oracle Portal.
The CM of OP does not allow me to go to this depth of treatment.
So I'm thinking about CMSDK.
Am I right.
If so how can I develop this thing?
Ho to integrate this web app using portlets, and using the portal users as users of the CMSDK application.
Are there any experience on this field that is using OP to publish CMSDK applications?
Publishing notifications on the notification portlet of OP and things so on.
CMSDK has it's own user management is it possible to override user classes to point to portal users (does someone already done it?)
Any docs?
Consider that I'm new of CMSDK, so really do not have any idea on where to start.
Thanks
Luca

Luca,
It sounds like you need to be working with CMSDK and additionally OID. Based on those two you will be able to share the account credentials with Portal which will remove one of your problems.
From there you can write a notification system and approval and allow portlets to access that info.
The CMSDK should offer what you need and offers a lot more flexibility that Portal offers.
This is only a quick overview, but I guess that is what you are after at this stage.

    I am trying to incorporate this product into my Oracle Portal v10.1.4.1.0. I have followed all of these instructions to the letter.
    I have run into a stopping point in these instructions. can anyone help me with these instructions?
    the section of the instructions titled, "Registering the Oracle Application Server Provider for Microsoft Exchange 2003" step number 7, "In the External Application ID field, select the ID corresponding to the Exchange Basic Authentication application you created in the previous step."
    to what External Application ID are these instructions referring? where is this ID located?

    That's right. You should login as portal.
    1. on Builder Page/ Administer tab, here you should be seeing page arranged into three columns. The central column will have three portlets and the top one should be this. This is the default arrangement. if you do not see it, then portal permissions seems to have been modified or the portlet has been removed from the page.
    2. The other way I told you is the alternate method to reach the same tool going directly through SSO server page.
    3. There is another way to get this: by adding this portlet into this page. For that, edit the page, and click the icon for add portlets in the top central columnar region. Now search for 'SSO Server Administration' in the search box. If the privileges are not modified, then you should be able to see it. Include it in that page.
    thanks,
    AMN
    none of this worked!
    I think it works that's how you get (NOT got) access to the Add External Application tool. It was all meant to give you access to the tool.
    However, the tool couldnt do what you wanted to.
    you may want to check permissions for portal which seem messed up. you should be able to login to SSO server page using portal. You seem to have no privilege for it. It did not work for portal but worked for ORCLADMIN. That is why you cannot see the portlet on the builder/administer page too.
    regards,
    AMNTHIS IS INCORRECT.
    no portlet was added or modified. I was able to get to my 'SSO Server Administration' by way of http://<server>.<domain>:7777/pls/orasso/orasso.home and logged in as ORCLADMIN.
    It's not to claim a credit; it is to describe a valid method. I do not wish to waste time on personal claims or disclaims.
    If you haven't read my message completely then you may be right.
    I wish you good luck in finding a solution.
    AMNthen you dont know how to incorporate this product into portal?
    who does know?

  • Oracle Reports Builder X Oracle Portal - Integration

    Hi everybody
    I've created some reports with Oracle Reports Builder. Then I saved them as a JSP file.
    I can view these reports in a normal WEB page, without problems. All that I need is to call the page with the parameters.
    Now I need to deploy this report as a portlet, inside the Oracle Portal.
    So, I've read the document "Publishing Reports to the WEB" (http://otn.oracle.com/products/reports/htdocs/getstart/docs/a92102_01.pdf) and I've followed the steps to run the report (JSP file) as a Portlet.
    I've done the following:
    - I've created a Database Provider
    - I've created the "Report Server Access"
    - I've created the "Report Definition File Access"
    Until this point, everything is ok, I can "Run" and "Run as a Portlet" the report.
    So, in the next class, "Adding the Report Portlet to a Page" (Page 8-8), the report portlet simply doesn't appear in the Portal DB Provider to wich it belongs!!! :-(
    Has someone had this kind of problem?
    Any hint will be welcome!
    P.S: The Oracle Portal, the Application Server, and the Reports Server are in a SUN Machine.
    The Portal version is 2 (release 2).
    Thanks in advance

    hi adriano,
    here is what you have to do:
    1. navigate to the db provider which holds the reports. click
    on grant access: check the expose as provider
    2. builder - administer - oracle reports security -
    edit the reports definition file access you created for
    your report.
    click on the access tab - check publish to portal.
    now you can see your report portlets for selection
    in portal.
    regards,
    christian hi,
    I can run the report as portlet but I can't see the "Access" tab under Customize. I know the option "Publish to Portal" is available in other object, but the "Access" tab does not appear in any of the Report Defitinion file acess page. Only "Develop" and "Manager" is available. I'm running on 9iAS R1.02.2.2a.
    Thanks

  • Oracle Portal 11.1.1.6 with OAM 11.1.1.5

    Hi All,
    I have the following customer requirement.
    Oracle Portal 11.1.1.6 which is deployed on WebLogic Server 10.3.6
    Oracle Access Manager 11.1.1.5.0
    Oracle Internet Directory 11.1.1.6.0
    The customer wants to have Single Sign On for the Oracle Portal Application. This is my understanding about the Architecture.
    Oracle HTTP Server (with WebLogic Proxy Plug-in) talks to Oracle Portal
    Oracle HTTP Server (the same above with WebGate) talks to Oracle Access Manager
    Oracle HTTP Server has Oracle Web Cache
    Oracle Access Manager talks to OID
    Oracle Portal talks to OID with OID Authenticator
    When I went through the Oracle Portal documents, they give steps for Oracle Portal which is deployed on Oracle Application Server but not with WebLogic.
    My questions
    1) Do I need to configure OID Authenticator at myrealm of WebLogic Domain (which hosts Oracle Portal) to connect to OID?
    2) Is there anything more I need to do to integrate Oracle Portal with OID (Meaning running pl/sql scripts or any)?
    3) Kindly advice me about the flow of Oracle HTTP Server, Oracle Web Cache, Oracle Web Gate to OAS and Oracle Portal?
    Thank you

    Yes, you can check the details here:

    This is in no way a complete list, as it is still not working for me, but some of it:
    OAM:You need to set up host identifier, resources(urls) to protect, define schemas and policies
    OHS: Need to set portal name in mod_wl_ohs.CONF

    Hi there,
    Have you applied any patches to 9ias since it was first installed? We had the same problem and had to apply a couple of patches to get the portlets working.
    1. Apply the 9.0.2.53.16 one-off patch for Oracle 9iAS Discoverer which takes Discoverer up to 9.0.2.53.16. This patch appears to be password protected and you need to get someone at Oracle support to give you a password.
    2. Apply the Discoverer Portlet Provider: 9.0.2.53.00c patch (patch no. 2595444) which gives you a new discportal.xsl file that actually works. It's this second step that solves your problem but you need to do step 1 before this. This is password protected as well.
    3. As you've upgraded Disco on the server to 9.0.2.53, you'll need to upgrade Disco Admin & Desktop within your 9iDS installation using patch no. 2555265. This is because Disco 9.0.2.53 uses an upgraded EUL that Disco Admin & Desktop need to be patched to use.
    This was the course of action Oracle support advised us about nine months ago. Of course they may have released a further patch to Disco that does 1 & 2 in one go, but we regularly carry out steps 1 and 2 on servers we use and we can use the Disco portlets successfully.
    Hope this helps

  • Integrating Web Services Manager with Oracle Portal and SSO

    Hi,
    I wanted to throw this out there and make sure I was on the right track and also if somebody can point me to some resources online that might help. Basically, we have OWSM acting as a Gateway securing some web services. Oracle Portal is integrated w/ Oracle SSO (as well as using OID). What is the best way to pass the credentials to the OWSM from the Portal for authentication purposes? I believe using SAML voucher token is the way to go, but I'm not positive. Has anybody done this before and if so, what methodology did you use? I'm assuming since using SSO, we don't necessary want to also pass in the password.
    Thanks,
    Nathan

    I have noticed that nobody has same kind of situation and this is not intresting question. Still we have same problem and I have heard many oracle employee saing that this behaviour is wanted situation. In our kind of virtual host enviroment it would be nice to choose behaviour of Single-sign-on server and I request oracle support to find out ways to enable this option... I would be pleased if some oracle development would say opinion about this mater. Waiting for ideas.

  • Enterprise portal integration with Oracle forms

    Hi
    Can anyone help me on this .
    "Enterprise portal integration with Oracle forms".
    I want to integrate oracle forms to EP .I am trying to work with app Integrator but I am not able to make any headway.Do you have any documents pertaining to this or any place where I can look for details.
    Thanks
    Alok

    Hi,
    i'm not aware of special integration feature with Oracle forms, but if as you said we are talking about a web application available via url then i see no problem doing so. the way you can implement the SSO is using something called Application Integrator which helps you build smart URL iView's that can use the portal framework (like systems, user profile , etc) , so you can build your oracle forms integration iView that will take the user password data from the portal (via system) using user mapping or sap logon tickets.
    for more details on Application Integrator see
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/70/5a3842134bad04e10000000a1550b0/frameset.htm
    regarding to the java applet, i don't really know what you mean by "jinitiator" but if your regular browser can do it then i see no reason for problems.
    i hope it helps

  • Integrating Collaboration Suite, Oracle Portal and E-Business to SSO

    Hello,
    I am in the middle of integrating several Oracle applications and one non-Oracle application to an Identity Management fresh installation.
    I found the procedure to integrate E-Business to SSO, with bi-directional provisioning, but I am stuck with the integration of the next applications, Oracle Collaboration Suite and Oracle Portal:
    1. How to integrate them to my new SSO Server? is it enough with the ssoreg.sh script?
    2. What happens to the users? do I have to manually import them into my new SSO/OID install?
    3. What happens with new users? how do they get created? are they now created in the new SSO/OID server?
    If someone has had any experience with this kind of tasks, I will really appreciate your feedback. Thanks in advance.

    You might ask this question in the Streams forum. You might ask it in the e-Business Suite forum. You might ask it at metalink. But asking it here is not likely to get you the definitive answer you need. I would make sure, before I made such a business decision, I heard it directly from Oracle Support Services.

  • Integrating apex form with oracle portal

    Afternoon friends,
    I have got a senario like integrating apex form with oracle portal.I dont have any idea on oracle portals.so please let me know the basic steps on how to go ahead to integrate apex forms with oracle portal and for that what i need to have apart with my database and apex.

    Hello
    Couldn't see my previous post... so here it is again
    We have integrated Apex into Oracle Portal
    Here's how we did it.
    In the portal page, we have created an Element region with the following code:
    <script language="Javascript">
       <!--
       function changeIframeHeight(){
          var ifrmObj = document.getElementById('apexIframe');
          if(ifrmObj) {
             if(navigator.appName=='Microsoft Internet Explorer') { //IE
                ifrmObj.height = ifrmObj.contentWindow.document.body.scrollHeight+20;
             else {
                ifrmObj.style.height = ifrmObj.contentWindow.document.body.offsetHeight+50;
       //-->
    </script>
    <p><iframe width="100%" height="500" frameborder="0" onload="javascript: changeIframeHeight();" src="/pls/apex/f?p=115:10" marginheight="0" marginwidth="0" name="apexIframe" id="apexIframe"></iframe></p>You just have to make sure that the name and id of the iFrame and the elementId in the javascript are the same.
    And change the SRC so that it point you application.
    Hope that helped you.

  • Seamless Integration Between Weblogic and Oracle Portal Server

    Hi,

    You might want to consider using WSRP to aggregate portlets deployed on
    Oracle into WLP. Check edocs and dev2dev for some info on WSRP in WLP.
    You can use 8.1 SP3 or later.
    Check with Oracle to find out which version of their product offers WSRP
    support.

  • Integrating Oracle Portal 11g / OAM 10.1.4.3 / OSSO 10g

    We are currently designing our new 11g Web Logic server architecture. We have a need to use Oracle Portal 11g in this environment, which of course requires Oracle SSO 10g. We also want to integrate this portal environment with OAM 10.1.4.3.
    I am looking for some information on how to perform this integration. I would also like to know the communication flow that unfolds when a user signs into a portal that is protected by both OSSO and OAM?
    The best thing that I have found to date is an “Oracle by Example” document, but this procedure was written for older versions of portal, OAM, OID, OSSO.
    Are you aware of any resources that I can look at? Or has anybody out there done this in their environment?
    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    To use Oracle AS SSO with OID 11g you should look at Chapter 10 of the Identity Management Installation Guide. This is the pre-requisite for Oracle AS SSO 10g on OID 11g. To use OAM with Oracle AS SSO as well you need to provide IdentityProvider class for Oracle AS SSO. This is handled in the OAM 10.1.4.0 Integration Guide.

    Sorry for the prob. straightforward question (just getting my feet wet with OAM)

    We have the integration to OAM working for both Portal and Siebel seperatly, but we launch Siebel from within Portal we are then prompted for a password again.
    Can someone please point me in the direction of how to configure OAM so that Siebel will reconize the portal cookie and not prompt for a password again.

    Check the webgate status by below URL
