CNTL_ERROR at RFC

Hi all,
The issue:
I have got an interesting short dump: " A RAISE statement in the program CL_GUI_CUSTOM_CONTAINER=======CP" raised the exception condition "CNTL_ERROR". "
The background:
I have two systems, "CRM"  and "B".
In "B" I have a function module which is called by RFC from "CRM". In this FM two transactions are called with batch input and I know that this dump occurs in these transactions.
I have tried the running of this FM on two ways.
1: se38 - I have a report in "CRM" which calls this FM. In this case it works fine, I get the required data from system "B".
2: This FM is called when using an application in a browser and it dumps.
Why is not possible to create gui controllers through RFC when it is used in WEB UI?
The functionality must not be changed in the FM, transactions must stay there, I have to do something else.
Any idea?
Thanks,
Gabor

Hi,
what transaction do you call in your program? Because you can fin dcouple of notes related to WebUI and CNTL_ERROR and some of them are programming errors. So maybe you just need to implement some OSS notes.
Good luck

  • RFC Failed: Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised

    Hi All,
    I have an RFC in R/3 which would be called from the .NET front end. When they run the RFC, they get an error which says
    RFC Failed: Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised
    Could any one help me what is the work around for this?
    Regards,
    Guru.

    Hi Guru,
    You are correct. Check the RFC for an call for screen/popup/dialog/user input etc.
    Such error occurs for the system is expecting a user input.
    Thanks,

  • CNTL_ERROR while calling a function module from Java webdynpro

    I am calling a RFC function module from javawebdynpro app
    which inturn calls a function module performing BDC on CAPP transaction. When I run this from SE37 of the same system or a different system everything works fine. But when called from Java webdynpro app, it raises a CNTL_ERROR exception and creates a short dump.
    Any help on this is highly appreciated

    Good catch, BI Learner. This was exactly it: when assigning the values from SOURCEFIELDS directly to the import/export parameters, you have to make sure that the types are EXACTLY the same, otherwise it will not work (the routine stops with an error when calling the FM, but there is no dump).
    Therefore, to solve my problem, I created the declarations precisely as expected by the FM and assigned the values to these fields:
    DATA:
          SOURCEVAL TYPE  /BIC/OIINVQTY,
          SOURCEUOM TYPE  /BIC/OIUSUOM,
          USITM TYPE  /BIC/OIUSITM,
          TARGETUOM TYPE  /BIC/OIUSUOM,
          CONVERTED_COST TYPE  /BIC/OIINVQTY.
    DATA PRODUCTION_UOM TYPE /BIC/OIUSUOM.
    " get the Production UOM
        SELECT SINGLE I~/BIC/USPRDUOM
          FROM /BIC/PUSITM AS I
          INTO PRODUCTION_UOM
          WHERE I~/BIC/USITM = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USITM AND I~OBJVERS = 'A'.
        IF ( SY-SUBRC = 4 ). " no records found
          "RAISE PARTNO_NOT_FOUND.
          RAISE EXCEPTION TYPE CX_RSROUT_SKIP_RECORD.
        ENDIF.
    " load the parameters
        SOURCEVAL = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USFRZMFC.
        SOURCEUOM = SOURCE_FIELDS-BASE_UOM.
        USITM = SOURCE_FIELDS-/BIC/USITM.
    " then you can call the FM
        CALL FUNCTION 'Z_CA_CONVERT_US_COST'
          EXPORTING
            PSOURCEVAL                = SOURCEVAL
            PSOURCEUOM                = SOURCEUOM
            PUSITM                    = USITM
            PTARGETUOM                = PRODUCTION_UOM
          IMPORTING
            PTARGETVAL                = CONVERTED_COST
          EXCEPTIONS
            CONVERSION_NOT_MAINTAINED = 1
            PARTNO_NOT_FOUND          = 2
            OTHERS                    = 3.
    " ... [do the rest]

  • CNTL_ERROR when calling a SAP function

    Hi,
      I've been using for some time .NET SAP Connector to create client and server proxies.
      A collegue of mine has created an RFC that is called
    Z_YODA_CREATE_PM_NOTIFICATION.
      After using the wizard to create the C# proxy I call the function and I get this exception:
    SAP.Connector.RfcSystemException: Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised.
       at SAP.Connector.SAPConnection.ThrowRfcException(RFC_ERROR_INFO_EX rfcerrInfo, Encoding encoding, String languangeCode)
       at SAP.Connector.SAPClient.RfcInvoke(String method, Object[] methodParamsIn)
       at SAP.Connector.SAPClient.SAPInvoke(String method, Object[] methodParamsIn)
       at SAPProxyDll1.SAPProxyDll1.Z_YODA_CREATE_PM_NOTIFICATION(String CODE, String DATE, String EQUNR, String HOUR, String PC, String USER, String& ADITIONAL_PARAM)
    My collegue is able to call this function from excel using VBA and no exception is throwned, and the function runs correctly.
    Is this .NET Connector fault? Am I doing something wrong?
    Thanks in advance for any help given,
    Luis Pinho

    Hi,
    Can you please give a detailed description on what the function module does and how it does? A piece of your VBA code that works?

  • Can not call RFC contains "call transaction"  in webdynpro

    We use Webdynpro to develope a UI that can create service orders in CRM
    system. We create an RFC funciton "ZKLEE_CRM_ORDER_MODIFY" in CRM,which
    contain a statement of "CALL TRANSACTION 'CRMD_BUS2000120' USING T_BDC
    MODE 'N' MESSAGES INTO MESSTAB.".
    But as we exacute the RFC from WEB,we got 3 error messages in the
    output "MESSTAB":
    1.MESSAGE ID = "DC",MESSAGE NUMBER = "006", MESSAGE = "Control
    Framework: Fatal error - GUI cannot be reached".
    2.MESSAGE ID = "SY",MESSAGE NUMBER = "002", MESSAGE = "Exception
    condition CNTL_ERROR raised."
    3.MESSAGE ID = "00",MESSAGE NUMBER = "359",and it is a terminate
    message.
    The problem is that we can use webdynpro to call RFCs that do not
    contain "call transaction" freely. At first we suspect that it is our
    RFC function's fault, but we tried it in ABAP enviroment,and it works
    OK. We also tried to call this RFC in JSP through JCO,the same error
    occurs.
    Our system enviroment is CRM 4.0, J2EE 640, kernel 640 patch 109.

    HI,
    Thank you for your information.
    Maybe you are right that BAPI/RFC can not contain "call transaction" statement. But two weeks ago, one of my colleagues tried to use "call transaction" in RFC through JCO in our R/3 enviroment(not in CRM),and he successed.
    So I suspect the kernel release. The kernel of R/3 is 640,while CRM is 620(I said our CRM kernel release is 640 before,and it is a mistake.).I will confirm whether what my colleague said is right by myself, and will also told you the result.

  • CNTL_ERROR call transaction miro

    In a project I developed a z fm   that integrate a idoc that  execute a  call transaction in miro. If I execute (in we19 in background mode) the fm does not give me ningun mistake, but if the entry is by external idoc i get the  following dump "CNTL_ERROR".
    I have been looking the sap not  311440 and my question is..
    I understand that when a extrenal idoc is  integrated in R3 the FM is executed s in background ??  because if i execute the same  code in a program in background mode i get the same error.
    why if  execute it via we19 in background mode it does not give me ningun mistake?
    Can you be that the user RFC who integrates the idoc does not have permissions?
    Or that directly as says the note 311440 cannot I execute call transaction to enjoy transactions an i have to use bapi ?
    Thanks

    Hi Gonzalez,
    You must not use a call transaction in any case if you have a BAPI as a working alternative. I suggest you check functions BAPI_INCOMINGINVOICE_*. This is more true for enjoy transactions.
    There are severall reasons for it, I guess in your case the system is trying to create an unexpected foreground screen object. I don't know why it would work in WE19 in background. There might be some differences in user parameters, for instance, some default user data might not be set (like company code, that would be typical).
    If you have to continue using call transaction, I suggest you set interface user for dialog and use it at least once to access MIRO directly to see if you can make all steps in your code.

    Edgar

  • Big Problem: ABAP-RFC and JCO  client

    Hi Friends,
    I am a java developer in trouble with a ABAP/RFC, and I dont have idea whoe lese ask for help
    This is the situation:
    In order to send a "candidates resume" (curriculum) in to SAP,
    the ABAP developers made for me a RFC which uses the transaction PB10 (applicant master data).
    The rFC when tested in the SAP GUI works fine.
    I wrote a java client which calls the RFC, send the parameters and expect the results.
    This client uses JCO to access SAP.
    But, from the java client the RFC works PARTIALLY.
    I mean, it creates the applicant, fills his name, address (infotypes 002,006,001)
    but doesnt fill the education a qualifications (infotypes 22 and 24).
    I am trying to figure why.
    Some of the internal ABAP errors code that we get are:
    DC -006
    PA -054
    5A -135
    Also I get this message:
    "Exception condition "CNTL_ERROR" raised"
    Please, I am a java-per lost in the SAP land.
    Thanks in advance by any help!!!
    PD: I could sent you the ABAP code of the RFC or the java code of the client if necessary.

    That CNTL_ERROR tells me that its trying to access a gui control which I don't is possible thru jCo.  Gui Controls are very dependent on the SAP Gui Frontend.  Since you are calling the transaction thru jCo,  it oviously doesn't know what to do with it.  Any chance that you can get a hold of the ABAP developer which wrote it initially?  Maybe there is another transaction that can be used instead of the PB10 transaction.

    Rich Heilman

  • How to pass the data from a input table to RFC data service?

    Hi,
    I am doing a prototype with VC, I'm wondering how VC pass the data from a table view to a backend data service? For example, I have one RFC in the backend system with a tabel type importing parameter, now I want to pass all the data from an input table view to the RFC, I guess it's possible but I don't know how to do it.
    I try to create some events between the input table and data service, but seems there is no a system event can export the whole table to the backend data service.
    Thanks for your answer.

    Thanks for your answer, I tried the solution 2, I create "Submit" button, and ser the mapping scope to  be "All data rows", it only works when I select at least one row, otherwise the data would not be passed.
    Another question is I have serveral imported table parameter, for each table I have one "submit" event, I want these tables to be submitted at the same time, but if I click the submit button in one table toolbar, I can only submit the table data which has a submit button clicked, for other tables, the data is not passed, how can I achieve it?
    Thanks.

  • Call RFC Function Module and return 1000 records at a time

    I would like to call a Remote Enabled Function Module from a non SAP system.  This function module will select data from the database and return it to the calling program.
    Suppose there are 100,000 records that need to be returned, but the calling module would like the data in chunks of 1000 records.  Therefore the calling program would call the FM 100 times.
    How do I code the function module to know on each subsequent call to grab the next chunk of 1000 records?
    Let me know if additional information is needed.
    Thanks,
    Aaron

    Hello,
    Here is how you can go for this issue:
    1. Create one RFC function module with following parameter. These parameters are with respective of chunking logic.
         Import: Package Size
         Export: Total number of records
         Changing: chunk count
    Implement following logic:
    1. First of you need to know how many chunks you need to fetch for that get the count of total number of records. This is one
        time activity so you better maintain one flag import parameter will be set to 'X' only first call.
    2. Get the number of chunk using total number of records / chunk size for e.g. 1000 / 100 so chunk count = 10.
    3. Define internal chunk counter in function module which will be used to locate the correct chunk depending on the chunk
        counter value sent from calling program.
    4. Send first call with package size 100 and chunk count = 1, execute select statement and increment internal
        chunk count check if chunk count = internal chunk count in current case chunk count = 1 so exit select statement and return
        with first chunk.
    5. Send second call with package size 100 and chunk count = 2. Execute select statement and check chunk count with internal
        chunk counter, in current case it will be 1 so skip that data and go for next chunk of 100 records increment internal chunk
        counter. In this case it will match with external chunk count = 2. load output table with that data and return to calling program.
    6. Repeat step 4 until you reach last chunk.
    You need to use SELECT...ENDSELECT with PACKAGE SIZE addition so for every loop it will return number of records mentioned in package size.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks,
    Augustin.
