COBRA issue

Cobra event was collected(HRBENUSCOB01) for an employee (period=current year). However, at the letter generation(HRBENUSCOB02)  the selection period (current year) was missed and the letter generation screen showed for 01/01/1800 to 12/31/9999 and had hundreds of employees in buffer...How can we fix this issue and  not generate letter for all these employeees. Any advise is greatly appreciated.

Probabaly you got a fix by now.
The buffer is created at the time of runnign cob01 action and not after cob02.
If buffer has more enties it is due to cob01 ran for all period and for al employees.
The buffer can be maintained via se16. Check your authorizations.
Sort on QE date and select only EEs who have events until the day of processing form ths table
and use for COBRA02.
You may also try deletin gteh future dated events in development or testing environment for a couple of PERNRs
and try rerun COBRA01 and COBRA02 etc. If every thign works fine then you may delete the records for events for future and run again COB01 restricted. Please note this buffer was non editable originally and SAP opened thsi buffer for editing later but customers are responsible for any inadverdant deletion etc.
hope this gives better undertsanding.

Raj

  • COBRA issue for Domino Notes

    Hi,ALL
This is a strange Question, please help me to figure it out.
    I have a HttpServlet Aplication,
It will connect with Domino server to search database as CLIENT.
So, When It connect with Domino server.
    I use Notes Cobra connection:
    NotesFactory.createSession(....);
    unluckly, it thorws me exception:
can't instantiate default ORB implementation lotus.priv.CORBA.iiop.ORB
If I create a pure application runing on windows platform.and use the same function:
    NotesFactory.createSession(....);
    it works fine.
why this problem happend if it is called under HttpServlet application?
    Thanks

    Follow-Up:
Ironport, if you could get someone to investigate this, it would prevent future issues with your plugin.
Thank you for the detailed report. I have filed defect #9107 for this issue. I'll also see that this gets added to our knowledge base.

  • COBRAS IMPORT issues from Unity 5.0(1) to Connection 8.5(1)

I have 3 Unity 5.0(1) clusters that I am testing COBRAS imports into Unity Connection 8.5 on UCS. I have all the proper phone systems (Switches) defined in Connection and I mapped them during the COBRAS Import but it seems that only defined or enabled Notification devices for a subscriber are carried over with the proper Phone System. Subscriber Notification options not defined or enabled will default to the Template Phone System used during the import. This is causing an issue when a subscriber enables and defines another notification device via the TUI as it will be mapped to the incorrect Phone System (Switch) for out calling. I know I can use the bulk edit feature to change the Phone System (Switch) information on the user Notification devices but COBRAS should carry this setting over.
System Call handlers from Unity 5.0(1) into Unity Connection 8.5 do not carry over the Phone System (Switch) information . The Phone System (Switch) is used from the template mapped during the import and not the Phone system (Switch) that Call Handler was on from the Unity 5.0(1) system or the one mapped on the phone system page during the COBRAS import.I know I can use the bulk edit feature to change the Phone System (Switch) information on the System Call handlers once Imported but COBRAS should take care of this during the Import process.
A fix or COBRAS enchancement would be greatly appreciated.

the stored procedure is likely complaining that the ExitAction is set to 2 (which means goto) but a conversation name was not provided - I'm guessing your log file will contain more details such as warnings that it was unable to resolve the exit destination details off the backup data (and hence could not derive the conversation name needed to get to that object type such as a call handler, subscriber or name lookup handler).  This should just leave the exit action for subscribers alone (i.e. whatever was defined in the template stands as is for newly created users).

  • COBRAS unity connection import - SDK install issue

    Hello All,
I am trying to get the cobras import tool to install.  It requested that I install the IBM Informix client SDK on my machine.  I downloaded the install files and ran it
I get an error saying I am installing 32bit on a 64 bit and to add the a path prefix.
I looked on the help at
    www.ciscounitytools.com
and they say to add the following command from the command line where the program is installing from
    set PATH=C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\;%PATH%
then run the install from the command line
I have tried it multiple times but get that same error saying i need to add that path
    anyone run into this before?
    thanks

I got it to work by doing this
Right click on my computer and properties; on the left side bar click on advanced
system settings and then advanced tab click on Environment Variables button scroll
down in system variables and go to path, select that and click edit at the very start
    type the following:
    C:\Windows\SysWOW64

  • Getting Error :- Only one instance of COBRAS Export can be running at a time

    Hi All,
I was checking the Briefcase Mode help file and it mentions for Unity Conection
that COBRAS will run multiple instances of itself – if you schedule multiple backups to fire up at the same time they will all run at the same time.
However if I schedule multiple backups to fire at the same time then I get the error :- "Only one instance of COBRAS Export can be running at a time".
This also happens if the COBRAS windows is left open and the scheduled backup starts in the background.
    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Applications/General/COBRAS/Help/COBRAS_Briefcase/COBRAS_Briefcase.htm#_Toc276653845
I am not sure if I am making a mistake in understanding the statement :- "COBRAS will run multiple instances of itself – if you schedule multiple backups to fire up at the same time" or do we need to add any switch like lot of other application need like /m etc in the field of the scheduled backups as I see as /silent switch for process to run in background automatically but none for multiple instances.
I am attaching the screen shots of the errors I got when
A.) I scheduled 2 backups to run at the same time and the COBRAS application window was open "COBRASExportCUC7.exe" was running  and no backup took place and got errors for both the scheduled backups.
    And
B.) I scheduled 2 backups to run at the same time and the COBRAS application window was closed off and "COBRASExportCUC7.exe" was not running and one of the scheduled backups started to work and the other one gave error and didn't work
Unity Connection in use :- Version 8.0.3.20000-18
    Cobras Export :- Version 1.0 Build 76
    Please Suggest.
    Regards,
    Prad
    (E-Mail :- [email protected])

Yeah, I’m of two minds on that – on the one hand it’s bad style to have a scheduled application popping dialog boxes (especially if you’re running as an account you don’t log in as regularly) – one the other hand I did have some sites go a while not noticing backups were failing (due to a UNC not flying any longer after a server reconfig) – folks can be bad about checking log files or the event log for issues.  A pop up would pretty much guarantee they’d notice on next login at any rate.
I think I may stitch in email notifications in COBRAS Export in the same way they’re in the User Data Dump so failures of scheduled backups would be noticed right away (big, bright email in your box saying “failed!” would do it).
Either way, I’ll update the help and make sure it fails quietly for now when I update some other items on the site middle of next week.
    Thanks for the report.

  • Error While processing the COBRA qualified Life event

    Hi All,
We have setup the Termination Life event as a COBRA qualifying life event.
Also setup the a new monthly payroll as the default payroll and set the benefit assignment to Yes at BG level.
I created an employee on 18 aug 2010 , processed new hire life event and enrolled that employee into the COBRA plan named "Be well Medical Plan".
Then When I terminated the employee as on 18oct2010, While Processing The Termination life event, I am getting an Error saying “When determining pay periods, a payroll Id is required. This error has occurred in the following package : ben_distribute_rates.get_periods_between. "
When I searched for this error in metalink ,it says it does not have a payroll id ,but when I check on 19oct2010 using the People->Total Comp Participation->Person Benefits Assignment window, he has got the default payroll attached to his benefits assignment.
Could you please help me to reslove this issue?
    Your help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you,
    Anuradha

    Hi Anuradha,
This error comes in many scenarios and there are bug fixes also for them. Please check on all patches available for you apps patchset level having the file benelmen.pkb. You may find a fix for it. (This was a common issue sometime back with suspended/terminated assignments) Also, I suggest logging a SR with oracle asap if your terminated assignment and also the benefits assignment have the correct payrolls attached.
    Regards,
    Vinayaka

There we have it, I think that that is all you need to know to perhaps give opinions and advice. Allow me to elaborate on why I am posting today after browsing this wonderful forum for the last two weeks. (...and by the way, my hat's off to some of you knowledgeable regulars for helping out a lot of newbies and folks in trouble!) Without further adieu:
    Problem #1: POWER ISSUE
When, or if, I remove AC Power from my PC for whatever reason I run into a problem in which after reconnecting the AC Power and attempting to turn on the computer it goes into a 3-5 second startup loop in which the PC does not post, but rather cycles power to all of the components indefinitely. I notice the LEDs on my optical drives cycling repeatedly ad infinitum until I power off using the 4-second hold method, and then press the power button again. At this point the PC boots up fine, and boots up fine going forward from all restarts and shut downs. How strange? I've never, EVER, encountered something like this before.
    Problem #2: PERFORMANCE ISSUE
This PC has a handful of serious performace issues.
    3dMark03 scored horribly.
Prime95 runs ridiculously slow although there are no erros! It runs much more quickly on my work PC which is a PIII 866mhz with 384MB of PC133 RAM.
I receive, on no regular frequency, or while doing anything in particular, Explorer memory errors. Not BSOD's mind you, but "...blah blah blah referenced memory address xxxxx-xxxxx and could not be written". This causes Explorer to restart itself, blowing away the start menu, task bar, and any Explorer windows open. They reappear, of course, without incident.
The most off performance issue of all is that when opening an Explorer window for either of my IDE HDs, designated D and E drives, I find that when using the highlighting rectangle tool the Explorer window freezes or lags. I can double-click and open or move/copy files without incident, but if I attempt to highlight by this method this halt or lag occurs.
Also, since my update of the BIOS from 1.2 to 1.7, and then to 1.8 system startup times prior to Windows loading are HORRID. I have disabled just about everything, and yet the SATA BIOS loads for 5 seconds, and then I must wait 20 seconds for Windows itself to come to the login screen. No other BIOS related issues to report per se, but this is terrible for what should be a blazingly fast computer.
Now let's see.. what have I tried to do to repair the issues?
    1) 2 BIOS flashes. First from 1.2->1.7, and then from 1.7->1.8. Ostensibly this was just "because". The power user need to have the latest! I noticed the incorrect CPU temperature being reported, however.. This led to me buying this massive ThermalTake HSF to replace my stocker. I also added more thermal goop than I ever have before, as well as a PCI slot fan before I became aware that it was a BIOS issue! GRRRR MSI.
    2) I thought perhaps for the one issue that one of the hard drives was an issue, and even perhaps for power, but I replaced each with new drives and tested all 4 on another PC. NO problems. Also I should perhaps mention that my IDE drives are all hooked up using Antec Cobra cables. Expensive yes, but why the hell not, right? I've never seen a hang-off grounding wire for IDE before. Decided not to use them as I could think of a great place to screw them in, nor have other PC using them had trouble skipping the ground wire.
    3) I unplugged every molex cable, the 4-pin CPU power, and the 20-pin ATX power and rerranged them all - as well as removed and then reinserted the RAM.
    4) I tried changing my memory timings and power management settings, etc in BIOS. Nothing seem to impact the issue. I didn't fiddle with the voltages, but I should not need to running the RAM at SPD or lower settings and without overclocking the system at all!
    5) Another issue that I had that seems to have vanished, come back, vanished, and then come back a "little bit" is my USB ports. When set to enable legacy devices in BIOS my USB items like my Logitech wireless keyboard would just cycle power and refuse to function. Also my UPS connected VIA USB seems to sometimes handshake with Windows and sometimes not. I've tried using all of the different ports, etc but the problem remains. I NEED 6 ports for my devices so it is all that I could do!
    6) I have an Enermax 550w EG651P-VE(FMA) with 36 amps on each voltage rail on it's way, and it should arrive tomorrow. Despite all of the crap regarding power supplies that I see on this board I am not confident that it's the problem. That Antec PSU should be able to hold it's on with 20 amps on the +12v channel. C'mon now. I build a nearly identical system with the same power supply for a customer and he has no problems at all. He also has 3 HDs, same motherboard, etc.. the only difference is he has but one optical drive and a 2800+ rather than a 3200+. That power difference should be decimal nature in amps needed.
...oh and the sound card is in PCI slot 3, for those that remember the glory days of sound card IRQ issues that Creative was once notorious for... oh, and I disable the ethernet boot device, etc so my slow startups should not be related. My serial ATA drive is also on connection 1 of the VIA controller.. Promise can kiss my a**.
Soooo.. Show me what a n00b I am, oh great ones. I've built over 100 PCs since 1998 for myself, friends, families, and customers... and I've never seen an issue like this one! I'm no dummy, but please don't assume too much. Other pros on here know full well you can forget the most simple mundane detail in spite of experience! I want to solve this problem. I am on the verge of shelling out for a new motherboard and processor of the 939 pin variety.. and am now wary of MSI's long awaited socket 939 K8 Neo2 board despite it's awesome reviews. MSI has never really given me trouble before.. but I don't really want to spend money to the order of $200+ for that damned Gigabyte board. Gigabyte has always been good to me as well. Save my wallet! PLEASE!!!
Thanks so much everyone, I tried very hard not to leave out any details!

The startup problem might just be a screwy psu. Your antec *should* be able to power your stuff just fine, but maybe it is defective in some strange way.
What is your 3dmark03 score? If it is 3000-4000, (approx perf. level of ati 9600xt), then it is fine.
Check your memory using memtest86+, and try underclocking it to ddr333.
UNplug usb devices, and see if it speeds up boot. Also, I would not recommend bios 1.8 since people seem to have some troubles with it.
Also, try disabling agp fast writes, disabling spread spectrum, and maybe boosting ram voltage a tiny bit.
Try booting without your audigy plugged in, and try booting barebones (nothing but 1 hard drive with os) and see what happens.
I'm no expert, but you might get lucky trying these steps.

  • Messages imported with COBRAS do not appear in mailboxes

I used COBRAS to export users and their messages from Unity Connection 8.0. Then I imported the users and their messages in Unity Connection 10.5. The users were imported successfully but, even though the log shows the messages being imported, the mailboxes are empty. What can explain that the messages are not associating with their corresponding users? Can anything be done to associate the messages after COBRAS finishes?

The query works fine when I create a new page, new tabular form etc. in my app.
This is a possible workaround but my previous page has a bunch of dynamic actions and javascript and stuff that is going take a fair amount of time to get working properly in the new page. I am just completely baffled. The exact same sql query returns rows in the db. A new page/report returns the proper rows. But the existing (and apparently broken) report only returns the rows that were in the table prior to my manual insert. Anything I added after insert is not getting returned in the old report. I'm stumped.
Edit: I should also mention that I performed the insert in sqldeveloper using a database link to the source table. Perhaps there are issues with APEX when using db links? Strike that - I just tried a simple SQL insert and those records aren't being returned either.
This is the strangest behavior of apex I've ever witnessed. If anyone is internal to Oracle and wants to look at my app I'd be happy to grant you access.

Version 7.0.2 of COnnection for export
Version 7.1.5SU5 of Connection for import
    Latest version of COBRAS import/export.
    Thanks in advance!

Verified this morning that imports into 7.1(5) were incorrectly adding the option for call handlers to set all messages as private which is not an option that version of Connection supported in the stored proc (it wasn’t added till 8.0) – fixed it to only include it if the target version is 8.0(1) or later and posted 8.0.51 here:
    http://www.ciscounitytools.com/Temp/
if you can give it a shot and make sure it addresses your issue that’d be great – I’ll move it over to the main COBRAS download page next week.
    Thanks

    Hi All,
We have done COBRAS import to Unitiy Connection 7.1.5, but a lot of errors and warnings
    came up during the procedure...

  • Subscriber Message Import Cobras

Im having an issue with a few accounts.  I have about 800-900 accounts to import.  Everything is going fine, but a few are failing on message imports.  Im not sure if its because im doing too many at once or what.   I can select 3 for testing and they import their voicemails fine.  But then it will pop a message with 5 retries, check antivirus, or smtp configs on the CUC server.   I know SMTP is working because I can telnet to port 25 from the COBRAS workstation to CUC and get the telnet responses.  I can import a few accounts messages, no issues.   Is there some sort of bug with this on the number of ussers at once?  Or should I be doing these in batches of uses for messages?
    Thanks!

Thanks Jeff for the response.  Here is a snipit from the log:

  • COBRA Letter Generation Errors

    Hi Folks,
Our users are getting errors while generating COBRA letters (HRBENUSCOB002). The errors are:
"Event 01 on 10/12/2011: Preceding event 07 on 10/22/2007 has not been processed yet"
"NO entry for benefit plan M052"
"Loss of dependent status of 10/22/2007: Error while checking COBRA-relevant plans"
These errors keep coming for quite a few employees.
Any inputs would really help on how to fix these issues. The IT 0211 is not getting created for them due to this.
    Thanks
    RL.

    Any help in appreciated??

  • Unity Cobras Import changes speed conversation

Hi we are running latest Unity export and unity connection tools and are migrating from unity version  4.0(4) SR1 to unity Connection version 9.1.1.20000-32
The issue is that when we  export from Unity and import to unity connection, the following gets changed:-
Conversation volume is set to low
Conversation speed is set to fastest, although the playback is slowest
The default are set to medium and normal
    (phone menu settings)
we can fix this by bulk edit and change everything back but concerned at why the data is getting changed and what else might have been changed that could cause us issues later. Never happened before during migrations from Unity to Connection. I assume  the versions are  supported with Cobras ?
Anyone seen anything similar ?.....TIA, Jeff

just to follow up for everyone - version 8.0.31 for the Connection Import tool was updated to handle this.  this version is now posted on CiscoUnityTools.com
Short version is backups prior to Unity 4.0(5) don't have per user speed/volume stored for messages (as opposed to converation speed) - speed was added in 4.0(5) and volume in 5.0.  The Import needs to check the version of Unity being restored and convert a value of 0 (slowest or quietest) into 100 for speed (normal speed) and 50 for volume (normal volume).
