Code to stop html SPAM in forms

Hi,
I am getting spammed to death through my forms. I am assuming it is a bot. I am on ASP and plan to switch over to PHP so I can do Captcha if I cannot find the solution I am looking for.
How do I disable my submit button if someone enters a web address? I know they can break it up and do http : // ispam dot com.
If someone has some suggestions I would appreciate it.

Ricky, do us a favor and avoid speculation by posting a link to your email form and the contents of your form processing script.
As mentioned earlier, no one is looking over your shoulder or reading your mind. You managed to provide a link to your page but unfortunately you epically failed to provide the contents of your form processing script. Get it together, Little Ricky. I never said you didn't know what a div is or a css file. I said if you're having trouble differenciating between those and a form processing script then you have a lot to learn. If you wish to continue alluding from providing necessary information that is asked for then do a search for asp if statement that I mentioned earlier. There's plenty of information on the internets that will show you how to create an if statement in asp.

To go along with Michael's suggestion, something like AA9.2 is needed for X64 systems I think. Also, be careful. Acrobat is not licensed for use on a server. Using it as a user is fine, but not as a server application. Read the license carefully.

The first part of the application is to connect our application to the existing HTML form.
This module would make a connection with the HTML page. The HTML page contains the coding for the Form with various elements. The form may be a simple form with one or two fields or a complex one like the form for registering for a new Bank Account or new email account.
The module will first connect through the HTML page and will fetch the HTML code into a Text File so that the code can be further processed.

You would do something like this

But how can I put it on and off then? You could use some javascript to do it or use the region id and then get the second table in the region body with that class name, there are a couple different ways to do it but none are simple and out of the box.
If you can out an example page on apex.oracle.com it will be much easier to help you out with the exact code.
It will be much simpler to do in 3.1 which is why that enhancment was put in.

Yes its possible . If you are running forms in client server , use host built in to open the html page. This html page can be created
dynamically using text io.
If you are running on web use webutil client host and text io.

Help with html / php contact form

Hi guys I was hoping to get some help with a contact form on my website, to be honest I havent a clue about php but kind of okay with html thats why the php code is just a copy and paste from some website, just trying to marry it up with the html but getting errors.

I am assuming you want to use paypal with this form which mean you need to use an HTML form. Unfortunately Formscentral doesn't support calculations with HTML forms. This is going to make discounts difficult. Depending on your exact needs you might be able to get away with using different fields for the discount. Example. Item one is standard room rate. Item two might be the same room with a AAA discount applied. etc. You will have to play with it to see if you can get it to do what you want.

Create a variable of type document and then a service to read the html from where ever it's located. If you put it in LiveCycle, you can use the ReadRessource service. If it's on the file system, you can use the Read Document. If it's in the database, you can use the JDBC service.
Also, one more doubt where should i use this variable in my process to get the same?
You want the response once you've submitted the data, so the html is really the result of calling the process that's processing the data. So I would create an output variable of type document on that process.
Right now it displays a random number in the browser because your submit process is long lived. When a process is long lived (asynchronous), you invoke it and then you get an identifier back. It's kind of a fire and forget. You can use that identifier to check the status of the long lived process, since long lived processes can take hours, days to complete. You don't want your browser to wait that long, hence the identifier.
However if you change the process to be short lived (synchronous), the browser will wait for the result of the process, which really means the output variables for that process. If your output variable contains html, it'll display html.
So the key is make you submit process short lived and populate the output variables appropriately.

Huh? If you want something like your browser's "view source" command, simply use a URLConnection and read in the data from the URL in question. If the HTML page is instead locally on your machine, use a FileInputStream. There's no magic invovled either way.

Increase in SPAM web form submissions

Hi,
I'm noticing a trend of increased SPAM web form submissions across most of our BC sites. This has got particularly bad in the past week or so. All SPAM submissions follow a very similar theme. The text is complete 'gobbledygook' basically! The forms being used don't have any description fields where long descriptions or links can be entered so I struggle to see why this is happening.
What I want to know is:
- is this something other BC partners are noticing, particularly recently
- are your SPAM submissions similar to what I have shown below
- what can we do to reduce these other than using CAPTCHA on all forms?
- we exclusively use BC but I would be interested to know if the BC platform is particularly bad for SPAM submissions or is this something all sites are suffering from nowadays?
- any other light you could shed on this issue or advice you could impart would be much appreciated

We are experiencing a high volume of spam since changing our web forms on our newly redesigned site. The objective of the site design was to make it quick and easy for clients to get a quick quote thus asking for only a few fields to be completed. Adding a captcha form would actually detract from the purpose of the form.
We have implemented the honey pot field which seems to have made little to no difference in volume (this seems to be the case for this fix across many other users of BC). The problem is with our spam is quite unusual whereby we are not getting any specific info from them really making it hard to detect if it is spam or real. See example;

For time being create one dummy process with request and response as a string type and call your process with the [xml]string input by creating partnerlink.
Generate xml from the schema with xml generator tools.
or use java api to invoke the process.
