Coldfusion Deployment - Query

Hi All,
I've been into development of an application, that makes use
of Coldfusion and uses Oracle as the backend. My predominant
expertise is in Oracle, although i have worked on Coldfusion, since
joining this project. I had a few queries regarding the
implementation of CFM files.
The platform details are:- Coldfusion MX 6.1, Oracle 8i, IIS
6.0
The process, that i have followed is that :
1) Verify if the default client store, and the database
source name are all valid.
2) Deploy the modified files in the root directory of the Web
Server (In this case, IIS)
3) If there are no other changes to other configurations,
then restart the Coldfusion Application Server.
4) An IIS reset, would be needed in the Web server.
5) Logon to the configured, URL and verify the changes you
deployed/ expected are reflected.
This was the process i followed in my development. However on
the TEST environment, the logic is quite fuzzy. I have noticed the
source code content is duplicated in the Coldfusion's root
directory (WWW) as well as in the Web server's root directory.
However, changes made to the Web server are not reflected, when i
have reset the IIS and have re - started, the Coldfusion Server.
Am i missing something? Is there some means by which
Coldfusion, reads the content in its own Web Server, before
checking external, web servers. (I understand, that it may all be
due to configuration issues. My question is, i want to know, if
there is any log Coldfusion maintains to check, where its reading
the source code from? i.e. If its reading from a Web Server like
IIS or from its own in built Web server.)
It would be helpful, if you all could throw some light on the
same.
Regards,
J

As many as it can. The limitation lies in the hardware.

  • Coldfusion 7 query of queries

I am getting this error when trying to run a query of queries
on a query constructed with QueryNew(): The value "" cannot be
    converted to a number
My hosting company recently upgraded to Coldfusion 7 and this
is when the error began. It worked fine before this and I have not
been able to figure out what to do to correct the issue.
I have dumped the query that I am constructing with QueryNew
and beside some values being null the query looks fine. I don't
think having some null fields should pose a problem.
    Any ideas?

Try inserting the word null instead of an empty
    string.

Check your datasource configurations, is product catalog repository in publishing instance is pointing to right schema.(Having versioned tables)
Also, check if promotion repository is up while starting up the server.
It clearly says that, tables are not found thats why it is not able to consider it as persistent item-descriptor in repository.
"This means that the repository item descriptor 'promotion' in the repository 'ProductCatalog-ver' is transient but was expected to be persistent.  This can occur when a repository item is removed or renamed and subsequent layers (e.g. liveconfig or localconfig) continue to reference the old repository item name to define caching configuration.  The item becomes transient because the base item descriptordefinition that defines the primary table no longer exists."
Also check if layering of customcatalog.xml is done properly and it doesnt have any xml errors.

  • Dreamweaver and Coldfusion deployment

    Hi anyone
I've developed a dreamweaver/coldfusion/mySQL site that I wish to deploy. I bought Creative Cloud in the hope that the components that work perfectly on my machine could be deployed to the CC site. This appears not to be the case. If Adobe products don't integrate here the CC subscription becomes a trifle redundant?
Q1. Does this mean I need another supplier to host coldfusion and yet another for mySQL and if so who?
Thanks for any illumination, I really don't want to go back to java ...
    Alan

DWCC removes CF support, Adobe wants to migrate people to their CF Builder program (not part of Creative Cloud).
However DWCS6 still has it and you can have both versions installed on your machine at the same time (they just won't run at the same time).
Since you're a CC subscriber, you can get DWCS6 by following these directions: http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/download-previous-versions-creative-applications. html

  • SCOM Agent install \ deployment query?

    Hi All
I have a query regards best practices.  Within our environment we will have a number of Build Environments (all within the same domain), which will involve servers being built, decommissioned and rebuilt for application testing teams.
Query is how best to handle the install\life-cycle of the SCOM Agent with regards to this scenario?
Just looking to see if others have had experience of this type of scenario and best practices \ experiences etc
    Any thoughts much appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    Andrew

Just have a couple of questions/suggestions:
Do the different servers have some sort of naming convention ie:
Prod servers have: PRD in the name
dev servers have: DEV in the name
ect.... If so then my suggestion is to create a number of groups ie Prod Servers, Dev Servers, Test Servers ect. and have these groups auto populate. You can then configure overrides for these groups for alerts
    to manage alert volume/escalations.
As for install are these servers windows server/ unix servers or a mix?
Number of ways you could try managing installs is to script the install (Google SCCM SCOM agent deployment script for some hints)
Consider if you want to auto approve agents or manually approve them so you know when servers are being added or removed.
If servers are being removed you could look at scripting a removal of the server from SCOM (have a look at http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/c4dcfce6-b241-4435-8f8b-1276814c455e/scom-2012-powershell-command-to-remove-agent)
If you could detail what your setup is or what you would like to be able to do we could make more suggestions.
    Cheers,
    Martin

  • EAR/WAR File Deployment Query on WEBLOGIC SERVER

    Hi,
We are running weblogic server version 10.3.4.0 where EAR/ WAR files deployed on single server and that has been configured in the current WebLogic Server domain. These applications are up and running fine. We need to deploy a new WAR file on the same domain. My questions are:
@ Whether I can deploy new WAR file without STARTing and STOPing weblogic server instance?
@ When deploying new WAR file, whether it will affect existing deployed files or will it affect any other running services for a fraction of second?
Note: This new WAR file is independent application and will not affect any other services in the future.
    Please assist.
    Thanks,
    Dheeraj

Thank you for your help but the result is still the same.
I deployed the library on weblogic server suggested by you.
File Deployed as library = oracle.adf.desktopintegration.model.ear
    From the folder = C:\Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\modules\oracle.adf.desktopintegration.model_11.1.1
    It is active.
After this I loaded jdeveloper and deploy the same sample application and found that the result is same.
Pls let me know where I am going wrong.

  • CiscoWorks LMS 3.2 Cross Site Deployment query

    Hi,
We currently have LMS 2.6 installed at Manchester Airport. We would like to upgrade this to 3.2 and deploy the same product at 3 other Airports within the group.
Ideally I would like to centralise all reporting and management elements but obviously this cannot be done across Wide Area Networks.
I was thinking of changing the LMS deployment at Manchester to multi-server mode and then deploy RME, DFM and Topology Services at each remote site, with one instance of Common Services at Manchester.
I want all DFM alerts to be visible from the DFM module at Manchester and have the ability to launch into the various tools from Manchester.
Does this sound like a feasible solution ? Or is Ciscoworks simply not setup to provide this level of deployment / centralisation ? Do I have to deploy multiple stand alone versions of LMS at each site and use remote desktops to manage remote sites ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Chris.

Apart from having a single DCR for all servers I don't think there is much that can be done.
Question is, do you need any local management when the WAN is down.
If not, you can manage all devices from one remote server. The management traffic is no big deal for nowadays WAN.
I believe you could also just have the DFM module on one server in Manchester and have local servers that have RME, CAMPUS and the other modules.
I don't think you can get the DFM alerts from multiple servers togehter in one view
If I read the cisco marketing it says that LMS is able to "understand" that a given tool for device X runs on RME@server3 where for device Y the same tool runs on  RME@server2.
I have however not yet tried such a thing.
I guess you need a statement from you cisco account manager that this works and has been tested
    Cheers,
    Michel

  • SCOM 2012 Agent Deployment query

    Hello,
I have tried to deploy the agent remotely to a Windows Storage Server Standard - SP1 server but it failed,
I have checked the compatible OS list and it makes reference to Server 2008 SP2 but not Storage Server.
If I upgrade to SP2 will the agent install on the OS or will it fail anyway.
    THanks

I had raised a ticket with Microsoft as this was quite unclear no matter where we looked.
    This was their response,
I can confirm SCOM 2012 SP1 agent can be installed on the server “Windows Storage Server Standard –
SP2” as per the below technet link.

  • SCCM Agent Install \ Deployment query?

    Hi All
I have a query regards best practices.  Within our environment we will have a number of Build Environments (all within the same domain), which will involve servers being built, decommissioned and rebuilt for application testing teams.
Query is how best to handle the install\life-cycle of the SCCM Agent with regards to this scenario?
Just looking to see if others have had experience of this type of scenario and best practices \ experiences etc
    Any thoughts much appreciated.
    Kind Regards
    Andrew

Thank you for your replys Jason and Wally,
I guess 'best practice' was the wrong phrase to use in this case.  However across the other System Center applications a number of best practices have become established for a certain scenarios\processes, and I was looking to see if a similar
approach had become established for the scenario outlined.  However on reflection I appreciate SCCM is a product that has enormous flexibility with regards to the variety of environments and the complexity of scenarios it is able to accommodate\handle. Thus
as you say, 'best practices' are not that realistic in general.
With regards to the scenario mentioned, we have 'x' number of development environments which will be provisioned via VMM Service Templates, via SCSM and SCORCH automation.  With the first number of rebuilds the Server names will not be the reused, but
after 'x' number of rebuilds the server names will be cycled\reused.  After further digging\reading I believe a scripted approach would be best, along with a separate method of cleaning out old server names from within SCCM itself.  The main concern
is when a server names get reused, it may still be in the SCCM database, but the new Server (with same name) has a new SID; which I believe would\could introduce issues.
Although I guess, with all that said, the most elegant\simple approach would be to have a clean uninstall of the SCCM agents whenever a development environment is decommissioned?
    Kind Regards

  • SCCM Client Deployment Query

    Hi,
Customer has already deployed the SCCM 2012 Sp1. They have multiple domains and network segments spread across various geographical locations. Some of the endpoints (having windows OS) at various geographic location has same IP address assigned. The SCCM
is not able to push the clients to these endpoints.
We thought of assigning the additional unique IP address to the endpoint device and install agent manually.
How would things work in case of SCCM client having multiple IP address?
Can we hardcode the IP address to SCCM client in SCCM database?
Is there any alternate solution for managing these clients?
    Regards,
    Milind Dhuri.

Customer do not want to change the IP address.
Alternatively thought of managing these client using IBCM with limited feature functionality.
Any thoughts on the same or any other alternatives ?
how will using IBCM help in this situation?
Having the same IP address on the network, will cause problems. It will get worse if you use proceed DPs on any segment with duplicate subnets.

  • Duplex PG deployment query

    Dear Experts,
     Please help me to understand
suppose we had deployed Unified CM as clustered over WAN and we have UCCE site A and Site B. is it possible to have independent duplex PG in each site. each site the agentPG's are connected to the CTI manager running in Unifed CM subscribers local to the site. i was searching in the SRND and design guide about the possibility of this kind of deployment (with single CUCM cluster) couldnt get much information. as I got from the document only one CTI manager will be handling the CTI operation in a single Unified CM cluster.
    UCCE version 8.5.3
    CUCM version 8.5
Please let me know if you required additional information to understand the setup.
    Regards,
    Shalid K.C

David is correct, you would need to review SRND for majority rule behavior as you may cuase more issues by having multiple PGs on each side, and the private/public link goes down.
But to answer your question it would be possible, yet creates additional challages anytime you have multiple CUCM PGs as then you need to split your agents across them, which affects skill group assignment, possibly requiring enterprise skill groups (works ok with precision queue if you were to go to 9.X+), agent teams which means a supervisor cannot see agents on another PG, etc.

  • TestStand Deployment Query

    Hi,
I have TestStand 3.0 development licence and once my development is finished i need to deploy my software to client machine. Do i need to purchase TestStand Base Deployment Utility,TestStand Debug Deployment Utility or can i can deploy by suing the option present in Tools->Deploy TestStand System.
If i need to buy Base or Debug Deployment utility then what is the purpose of this option Tools->Deploy TestStand System ??
    Thanks in advance,
    -Anil
    Anil-B'lore

    Hi Anil,
The Deploy TestStand System is very good at organizing every code module and component that you need for a deployed system. It will find all of your VIs (if you use LabVIEW), and all of your other code modules. It will create a single installer that will include the TestStand Engine. However, you will still need to a license to run TestStand on the deployment machine. So you will use both the Tools >> Deploy TestStand System along with purchasing a deployment license for using TestStand on another machine.

  • EJB deployment query

    Hi People,
I have an EJB jar file produced from a vendor which is J2EE 1.3 compliant in that it contains a valid ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor.
By what process can I migrate this file so that it will run under SunOne AppServer7 with its requirement for a sun-ejb-jar.xml deployment descriptor ?
I have tried the following :
-The migration tool. This tool migrates extensions produced by other application servers (WebSphere, Weblogic) or the J2EE reference implementation. It does not have appear to have an option to create a sun-ejb-jar.xml from a ejb-jar.xml file (Can we add this to the requested features)
-asant. The would not appear to be a task availble to create the sun-ejb-jar.xml from an ejb-jar.xml.
-Hand crafting a sun-ejb-jar.xml and re-jaring the component. I can get this to load into the AS but JNDI error insue.
As this file is delivered to me as a jar I dont have the source so building it from scratch via SunOne Studio is not an option at this stage.
    Any thoughts ?

Migration tool should have created the sun-ejb-jar.xml file for you. You can get the java files from the class files by decompiling the java files. There are a number of tools avoilable for this. You can report the problem to the App server migration team. Send your feed backs to

  • WLST Deployment Query

I'm trying to use WLST for deploying apps in Weblogic 9.1.
    I'm doing a simple deployment
    deploy (myappname, myappsource, targets=target_servers, stageMode="stage").
The app deploys but staging mode does not get set, it is null (staging mode is set to staged for all managed servers).
Am I doing some doing something wrong ?
Is just using the deploy command in WLST enough or should I be executing any other commands (e.g. destributeapplication) ?
Will the deploy command also upload the app to the target servers, even if they are on remote hosts (I run the deploy command from the Admin Server host) ?
    Richard

Please ignore, strangely it seems to be working ok now
