Coldfusion function hints in .html page

I'm building a coldfusion site that will be using .html as the file extension instead of .cfm. I can easily set the server to parse the page correctly, however I am having a problem getting the code hinting to work in Dreamweaver.
I did figure out how to set Dreamweaver for CFM tag completion in an HTML page and it works fine, for instance if I type:
<cfa
it will hint and complete <cfabort>
However, the problem I'm having is that I can't get the function hinting to work. Normally, if I edit a CFM page and press control-space I get a list of coldfusion functions, for instance if I hold control-space then type:
arr
I'll get a menu of options and can auto-complete as:
ArrayAppend()
This is very helpful but I can't get this type of function hinting to work when I'm editing a HTML page in dreamweaver. Currently it will only do the tag completion, but NOT the function completion.

You'll need to manually edit this file in your User (not Application) Configuration folder:
Configuration/CodeHints/CodeHints.xml
Search all of the "doctypes" attributes. Wherever you see "ColdFusion", add "HTML". It's a comma-separated list, so this:
doctypes="ColdFusion,CFC"
Should be changed to:
doctypes="ColdFusion,CFC,HTML"
Note that you can do something similar in the CodeColoring folder to get syntax coloring to work.

Fast Response Appreciated - Calling Edge Function from an HTML page embedded in iFrame within Comp

This is a tricky one, but it may just be that I don't understand the syntax,
Situation:
I have an Edge Animate composition that is acting as an interface and container into which other content is embedded using an iFrame. I have several functions in Stage > creationComplete, and for one of the embedded content pieces, I want to include a button that calls one of the Edge functions.
Challenge:
I have read about referencing elements within Edge when it is the Edge file that is embedded on an HTML page, but I cannot figure out how to reference Edge in the reverse.
I have tried these options where headerselect(page) is my function:
AdobeEdge.getComposition("EDGE-531849691").getStage().headerSelect("community");
window.top.Edge.getComposition("EDGE-531849691").getStage().headerSelect("community");
This is for a project that is time sensitive. Your immediate help is greatly appreciated!

Looks like someone has already responded to your post. Did that answer your
question? In their suggestion, they indicated that you could actually
created the jplayer instance within the Edge composition, and therefore
have more direct access to its events. If that will not work for you, it
may help to know how your page is laid out. Where is the Edge file in
relation to the jplayer and how do you intend for them to interact? Does
the player need to be outside of Edge for some reason?

Calling a function in flash on an HTML page

Hi,
I need help regarding how to call a flash function from an HTML page. The idea is to have a link on my page (HTML link) that once clicked displays a movieclip in flash. I know i have to use the asfunction in HTML. So far I have just created my swf file with a function called showInfo. I've embedded the flash into an HTML page. I have then added a link on the HTML page as follows:
<a href="asfunction:showInfo">Link name</a>
but when I click it says:
"Firefox doesn't know how to open this address, because the protocol (asfunction) isn't associated with any program."
is there a piece of code I need to write in flash for this to work?

ColdFusion in HTML pages

Hello,
Is there any way to use ColdFusion code in an HTML page? I have a section of an HTML page where I want to put dynamic content, but I don't want to have to save the page as a .cfm file. All I need to use is a cfinclude tag.

I didn't mean for my question to spin off into many different directions, but it was interesting to read everyones' responses.
To recap, my situation is this:
The homepage of my Web site is an HTML page.
I wanted to include content from a database, but I did not want to have to change the page extension to cfm at this time because of users' bookmarks, etc.
The idea to use an iframe worked, but I need to figure out how to allow the iframe to resize height-wise depending on how many records are returned.
What I'm trying to accomplish is simple, so I don't feel the need to modify my server at this time.
Again, I appreciate all the help and insight.

I need to open it in same IE window.

Steps to Reproduce:
1) go to http://get.straweb.com/StraWebBrowser/StraWebBrowser.air download and install
2) load 2 tabs and in the 3 tab load video player of youtube.com which will a sample video
before completing the load of 3 tab which trying to load video from youtube.com, navigate to other tabs 1 or 2 in few second once the flash player of youtube.com video player is load it will display in the current tab or UI screen.
3) Try navigating to other tabs than youtube.com loaded tab you see the flash player is on top it stable.
4) navigate to 3 tab and try to navigate to other tab you can observe that so how it will not show that flash player and only visible in that 3 tab which is fine.
Actual Result: Embedded tag of html page displaying on top of all layers of Adobe air application native window
Expected Result: Embedded tag of html page should only displayed in side htmlloader
This you can replicate in any adobe air plugin update and on any Hardware and Environment.
Applicable to all sdk versions of adobe air.

Dowloading HTML page with picture like the IE save as function

It is.
However doing so will be a big task. You have to write a htmlparser (I did) which checks all possible options for writing html. I based mine on the w3c standard for html 4.01. Takes a while till you get through everything. Don't ask me for it, I'm in the middle of an update to make it sure it has a bit of a descent structure.
Then you must know all attributes which can possibly contain a link to an image. Find out if this link is not an url with a protocol. Also find out if the link is not something like a cgi. And so on for more options.
You can look on the net for some parser but I didn't find one. There is of course Html Tidy but this one reads the htmlcode and makes a valid html document from it which is almost never the same as you wanted it to be. For crappy html code this can result in the removal of a lot of your elements.

FIREFOX 26 changed the 'post crash' page with the list of windows and pages. It was a real HTML page with links for each page. Now it isn't (and blows)

This used to be a real HTML page and it isn't any more. THis choice was pure isiocy consider how peopel used that page every day (try taking to your users for a change).
The pages listed on that 'post crash page' used to be actual LINKS (you could right click them &
manually open them in another tab - and most peope DID that every day). You could also (and I did this a lot) drag a second
copy of the page, into a new tab (to keep track of all the pages I had not wanted to open)
Now the pages are no longer links. You cannot right-click them.
The thing in the probser is no longer a page that I can drag into a new tab.
Roll the version back and throw this one in the bin...and have a good long talk with your developers about the definition of
'STUPIDITIY'
Then I try to type anything in the addres bar it is suppose to repoond with the history of old things I have types in the past, or
search for what I type (and in some cases I think it tyes to convert it intoa URL). However it no longer does any of these
things. When I type in the ADDRESS BAR ONLY, I do not get all of my letters to appear. I have to type into a notepad or
into the search and to copy and paste to go to a URL. Nothing that is typed into the address bad responds normally at all
anymore, and I am fairly certain there are no new addons on this machine at all. It does not matter which things I disable. It
still does this. W of course points the finger back at a change to FIREFOX. I wich I could just sitct with one stable release
forever but the MOZILLA folk thing it is best to force peopel awy from a working broswer release to a horrible one (due to it
being out of date).
FIREFOX 26.0 has 'issues' (ie new *features*/bugs)
1) History is no longer accurate. My Proof? This machine is the primary one for the entire family (the only PC working). It is
logged in with same user every time and never has its history cleared. It now January 7 so I ought to have a list of all of last
months browing available to me.
However, according to FIREFOX history, in all of December 2013, the entire family only went to 51 primary URL's. None of
the official TV sites I use to get episodes are listed. None of the official movie sites I use are listed. The primary URL for
ebay is not listed. Only 1 out of our 4 weather sites that I use (at least once a week) are listed. Only 1 of our 3 FINANCE
sites is listed. There ought to be several; hundred root URLs listed.
Please fix history as this change seriously "blows greasy chunks"
PROBLEM (a stupid change in the new FIREFOX version)
FOr a long time, after a crash you got a useful page (a real HTML page) which gave you a list of all of your last sessions
'winwos and tabs' that were open when the browser crashed. there were certain ways of using this page that are no longer
able to be done.
The old method was wonderful as it had this behavior :
*** The old method for displaying your 'Recovered Tabs' allowed you to :
a) right click an individual item and open it in a tab without getting rid of that lovely window of your previous session of
'recovered windows and tabs '.
2) drag the URL for the entire window of 'recovered windows and tabs ' to a new tab (to make a second copy) so that you
could select just a few of them to open as a group, and stil have the old list handy.
You can no longer do either of these things. The 'recovered windows and tabs ' page no longer has links in it and can no longer be dragged, so you cant select a few of them to use, and keep the rest around for later. NOW - once you choose which pages to open the window is gone forever (can can't get a second copy).
People used to make a copy of the page for later use (with a drag)
we also used to open pages with a right click (which no longer functions
This new method seriously blows big greasy chunks. A parge loss in function has occurred.
Put things back as they were. 26 is full of terrible changes that NOBODY likes. It also has a lot of bugs (history is not reliable at all)

(1) Firefox's built-in post-crash page has not been a real HTML page for a long time (for example, from the time of Firefox 22, see: [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/968212 Want to save LOTS of versions of "Restore Session.xht" from the "oops ..." page for later use]). If you had this working differently with Firefox 25, that might have been created by an extension.
You can check to see whether extensions are disabled or need an update on the Add-ons page. Either:
* Ctrl+Shift+a
* orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Add-ons
In the left column, click Extensions. The disabled extensions cluster toward the bottom of the list. To poll for updates, use the "gear" button above the list and choose Check for Updates.
If you used the Reset feature (or Firefox automatically did a reset due to some problem during upgrading), you will need to reinstall missing extensions. The reset feature creates a folder on the desktop named Old Firefox Data. Do you have that folder? There may be data you can recover from it.
(2) There are many ways for history to get cleared, both internal to Firefox and external. Could you double-check your Privacy settings?

* The "Firefox will" drop-down says Use custom settings for history: inspect the "Clear history when Firefox closes" setting to make Firefox isn't set to clear history. Also check your add-ons and consider external software.
Firefox normally accumulates months of history. However, some of Firefox's database sizes are based on disk space available. If your hard drive is very full, Firefox might reduce the amount of history stored.

ColdFusion with IIS URL Rewrite - Page never finishes loading

I am running CF10 on IIS 7.5 with URL Rewrite module installed.
All the rewrite rules work perfectly and ColdFusion is returning the correct pages. In order to get the page displayed in the browser I have to manually set the 'content-length' value in Application.cfc like this:

Without this code the browser does not display the page. However, even though it is now displaying the page, it is not doing it correctly. The page never finishes loading fully and not all of the HTML content seems to be on the page.
I have tried to add a <cfflush> tag after setting the 'content-length' but it makes no difference. I want to open 1 window as well as i want to open 1 html page on a single button click at a same time, in JSP.
on button's "action" event i am opening the html page and button's "onclick" event i am opening the window, but it is not showing these 2 actions at a time. only window gets open when i click the button.

How to insert a Jquery slideshow to a template based html page?

I would like to insert a simple jquery slideshow into an existing div in an html page which is linked to a template page. Do I add the js files and code to the template html or the child html where I want the slideshow? Do I need to divorce the page from the template? It seems that the js has to be put into the head from what I've read so far and this is not editable in a template child...

How to change the file name of pdf file in html page?

Actually my requirement is to upload 50 PDF files containing javascript in each file into flex page with the help of one html page.
i did the the javascript part by using batch processing.
now i want to call those pdf files one after another without changing the file name in html page
the code written in html page is

I once had a similar task for creating a webpage that I only use on my computer--a webpage that accesses PDF's and SWF's font previews from a list of fonts as "a href's". What you must do is utilize the power of the command line, whether on a Mac on a PC or on Linux, Linux being the most powerful (although Mac IS Unix). You must utilize variables, variable replacement, and then a command to print out the results of a "for" or "while" loop to a text file which will be your HTML file with each individual link automatically built into the HTML code. You will have a list of 50 links. If you are simply looking for a GOOGLE type functionality where you click on "Next" and "Previous" you will have to dig deeper into variable replacement--this I don't know how to do yet but there are books for command-line shell interpreters. One shell interpreter is called "bash" (born-again shell) and there is a book on the market which gives a detailed example of how to replace variables in a shell script. Again, I don't know how it works. I will try to learn this at a later time when I am more seasoned with the basics of shell scripting.
