Coldfusion in J2EE configuration

hi,
i m trying to deploy CF7 as a war in JBoss4.0.3 SP1 on Fedora
Core 4.
But the commons-logging.jar and log4j.jar in both JBoss and
CF seem to break the flow.
During JBoss startup, a message that might need attention is
14:16:42,842 INFO [TomcatDeployer] deploy, ctxPath=/cfusion,
warUrl=.../deploy/cfusion.war/
14:16:48,420 INFO [STDOUT] log4j:ERROR A
"org.jboss.logging.appender.FileAppender" object is not assignable
to a "org.apache.log4j.Appender" variable.
14:16:48,423 INFO [STDOUT] log4j:ERROR Could not instantiate
appender named "FILE".
After the startup, on accessing any cfm the error I get is :
14:19:12,166 ERROR [[CfmServlet]] Servlet.service() for
servlet CfmServlet threw exception
java.lang.ExceptionInInitializerError
Caused by:
org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException:
org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException:
org.apache.commons.logging.LogConfigurationException: Class
org.apache.commons.logging.impl.Log4JLogger does not implement Log
I have tried some of these but with no success:
1. removing the commons-logging.jar and log4j.jar from
cfusion.war.
2. upgrading the above jars in cfusion.war with the ones in
JBoss.
Any help would be appreciated.

Zara

Since we have used the full JRun 2 CPU license since 2003, we
have kept it separate from the CF deployment, i.e. deploying CF as
an expanded WAR file on 50+ server instances. We are doing a proof
of concept on moving up to 64-bit, so I just need to confirm that
multi-server configuration is indeed host within the built-in JRun
app server at 64-bits.

Yes, that makes sense. Starting with CF8, I think, is when
JRun was no longer sold as a separate application server.

That does make sense re. the 64-bit version of JRun being
bundled with CF 8.0.1 for multi-server configuration deployment,
but that a separate 64-bit version of JRun application is _not_
available.

  • Solman_Setup, J2EE Configuration, start J2EE Config points at old server

    Hi,
I have recently performed a system copy on my solution manager server.  As far as I'm aware I have followed the correct procedure and performed all post installation tasks.
Since the copy I have a problem with my SLD which is in my solution manager system.  I think it may be one of two problems.
    Firstly
When I run SOLMAN_SETUP initial configuration step 3 - Start J2EE Configuration the url launched points at my old server name rather than the new one.
I have raised a call with SAP and have so far done the following things
    Notes : 1297849 & 805344  - Everything pointed to new server
Notes 1301106 & 669669 - I have patched ABAB & JAVA AND updated the Content in the SLD
Note 624282 : Transaction LCRSERVADDR contains no entries and the SLDCHECK launches the correct SLD info.
None of these notes resolved my issue
    Secondly
In transaction SMSY my solution manager settings are not correct - The ABAP stack is correct the message server points to the new message server, however the JAVA stack message server still points to the old system.  I have tried to delete but I am unable to as I get the message system in use in Groups / Landscapes.  SAP have done work on my server as part of the SURGEN programme and I'm sure this is something they have done that I am not able to remove.
    Please help.

Tracey Smith. (John Beard - Corporate account for Kelda Group)

You are using client 100 for example. It seems so that the UME store from the Java stack still points to the 001 client (probably you made a client copy on ABAP side from 001 to 100????). The CTC want to check SOLMAN_ADMIN user in the system where the UME destination is set (in this case 001).
So basically you got now 2 options: redirect your Java UME to client 100 or you simply create the required user SOLMAN_ADMIN in 001 client.

  • Apache J2EE configuration

I have just installed CFMX 7 trial version in J2EE
configuration. Is it possible to setup apache http server as a
webserver in this configuration? Or, apache server can be
integrated with only in standard edition or server configuration?
    Thanks in advance.

Apache can be used in J2EE config also. We're actually
running clustered CF on Tomcat with Apache + mod_jk in front (on a
separate machine). I don't have the details right now, but it's
    possible.

  • CF Installations :Key differnces between Multiserver configuration and J2EE Configuration

    Hi,
Can anyone give the important differences between Multiserver
    configuration and J2EE Configuration installations?..

    Hello Dalibor,
While the service account user object has Use DES selected it would appear your user session is still sending the AS Java an RC4 service ticket.  This might occur if your user had requested a service ticket before Use DES was selected, or before that setting had replicated to the appropriate domain controller.  The fix might be as simple and logging out and logging back in now that some time has passed.
You could also download the Microsoft kerbtray utility and inspect the service ticket enc type to validate this.  kerbtray can also be used to clear old tickets and is generally useful for troubleshooting this kind of thing.
    Thanks!

Your problem is that you can't run the J2EE batch file commands on Windows Me without tweaking them. You can get the tweaks and more at

  • Backup of SAP J2EE configuration

    Hi,
is there any easier way to backup the whole SAP J2EE (6.40) configuration on an Windows 2003 Server than to backup everything in the J2EE folder (because it is very large)?
Maybe all the configuation is stored at one special place?!
    Thanks and regards

There is one blog, which tells about XI backups..may be useful.

  • J2EE Configuration

    Hi,
I am new to j2ee architecture. I have installed j2ee 1.4 server. I am facing the problem regarding the configuration of this server. I will be thankful if anyone send me the configuration of the server e.g. setting path and classpath and other configuration.
i tried my best and set the environment variable and j2ee.home too. But as i run the command asant build, it says j2ee.home is not set to the home directory. Also i will be thankful if someone told me how to compile the EJBs .java files.
Please send me the configuration on my email address [email protected]
    Thanks,
    Regards,
    Sumair Rana.

Doesnt J2EE Server have samples and documentation in their Installation or Web Site?
Follow the steps (Step-By-Step) to configure a J2EE App.
The doubt you are asking is very broad, and these discussion forms are to discuss specific issues.
    Regarding EJBs compilation:
EJBs are implemented and have descriptor files specific to each vendor. So you need to see the Vendor specification for more Info.
But you can compile and package EJBs in 2 simple ways that I know:
    1. Write a script to do the following
    i. Compile Java Files and Jar the class files.
ii. Run EJBC on the Jar file to create EJB stubs and skeletons. This would require Vendor specific Libraries.
iii. Deploy the EJB Jar files.
    2. Use ANT Deployment Scripts to compile EJBs. (This is much easier, faster and is current standard).

  • Resources for non-standard J2EE configurations?

OK, every book out there tooks about session beans, Entity beans, CMP, BMP, etc - but are there any good resources for doing less 'by the book' integrations? For example, communicating from a J2EE server to an SNMP Agent? Or firing off long running tasks?

    Solved it on my own.
'j_user' & 'uniquename' should be mapped to 'extensionAttribute7' in the XML configuration file.

  • Editor Mode not found to change the property of J2EE Configuration in NWA

    Hi,
I have worked on an issue where an end user asked me to configure changes in NWA.But I did not find the editor mode.I tried all the buttons in the page of NetWeaver Administrator -> Configuration. But I could not change the customized value.Tried all possible means.Later logged into Config Tool and made the changes in Configuration Adapter successfully.Restarted the cluster later.
Why couldn't I change the value of property in NWA? Where do I see the configuration editor mode in NWA?Please help.
    Thank You.
    Regards,
    Sudheer.

    Hi Mr. Sudheer,
    As per my information,
NWA is a tool under developement by SAP (for the full fledged functionality)
Till now it is valid for use to Monitor the SAP system (similar to CCMS), next is you can administrate the Java process and services (that is you can start and stop them).
WE can monitor the SAP ABAP & JAVA Stack as well as Java components...
We can also do User Management via NWA.
And also the CTC configuration using NWA.
<b>But changing certain parameter or acting as an editor is NOT YET supported by NWA tool.</b>
I hope that I am correct in providing you the information.
for details on that please refer : http://service.sap.com/nwa

  • Virus Scan for SAP XI , J2EE configuration

    Hi Experts,
We have a virus scan interface NW-VSI provided by SAP. Different AV products are now producing and certifying for this and providing the Virus Scan Adapter and Virus scan engine integrated with SAP NW system.
We can use this to scan viruses. I have gone through so many documents for this.
Can any one please help me how can do this ?
A step by step guide or complete scenario will be very helpful.
We have installed McAfee antivirus in an other different server.
our requirement is before picking up the file by XI from FTP location , a virus scan should run.
Please help me how can I achive this and what are the requirements for this in J2EE engine side etc.
    Thanks

    Hi Vineet,
yes this can be possible. I have implemented this in our project.

  • XI User Store / J2EE configuration

Hi all i hope you can help me,
Currently our XI user store points at client 000 to authenticate against when you login to the integration builder.
I would like to change this to client 280. I've checked all the settings in the config guides and install manuals and can't find and useful information !
I've changed the setting in the UME side on the visual administrator, but its not having any effect.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    James

    Hi James,
yes, of course. What to do depends on your scenario. Do you use IDoc RFC or ABAP proxy? Usually you have to delete and create a business system in SLD with the same name, delete the old business in IB directory and import again. Then configure logon in communication channel resp in SM59 destination. For IDocs communication it is more complex.

  • ColdFusion 11 wsconfig.exe -- Error while configuring connector for IIS.

I ran into a problem with my ColdFusion 11 64-bit installation/migration on a Windows Server 2012 R2/IIS 8.5.  I was following the ColdFusion 11 Lockdown Guide - Pete Freitag (very helpful) and I ran into problems on page 35 "Run the ColdFusion Web Server Configuration Tool".  When I attempted to do this for ALL IIS websites I encountered a Windows error [APPCRASH - Exception Code:c0000005].  Also, note my Administrator-Command Prompt window provided this error message "Error while configuring connector for IIS. Make sure you have administrator privileges".  However, I did not experience this error with all of the migrated sites.  I traced my steps backward to discover the problem.  I used the Microsoft Web Deployment tool (good tool) to migrate the old IIS websites to the new IIS.  I utilized Metabase Explorer the IIS 6.0 Resource Tools to discover that some of the migrated sites that were crashing did not have the key/value ID:6006 | Name: DefaultDoc.  Once I added this key and redeployed the site the ColdFusion 11 connector (wsconfig.exe) worked fine.  In addition, I added this key/value to some of the larger previously migrated sites in IIS 8.5 ("Default Document") and it worked with the connector as well.
Knowing how IIS encapsulates information the DefaultDoc key/value should have passed from the website setting.  Why would this make wsconfig.exe crash?
Thanks in advance and I hope this saves someone from hours of research and frustration.

    DiscoDelight,
Have you forwarded this information directly to the ColdFusion product team?  If not, I'll try to draw their attention to it.  Only a few of them are active on these forums, so this issue might be overlooked.
