ColdFusion MX - New Setup

I have a ColdFusion MX application installed on a Windows 2003 server. I need to move that application to a new Windows 2003 server.  The old application also has administration application installed that I need to move also. The applciation is based on SQl Server which resides on a seperate machine.
I need to know what is required on the new server for this application and what do I need to do to move it over to the new server.
thanks in advance.

Via CF Administrator.  Note: you need to be running either the enterprise or developer edition to use this functionality.  If you are running standard, you can temporarily remove your licence to revert to developer edition, do the export, and re-apply the licence again.  Don't do this when the server is "live" obviously, as it'll bring the site down.
All this is in the CF docs, btw...

  • New setup.exe for Adobe Acrobat 8.0 Pro

Per http://www.adobe.com/go/kb403246, there's a new setup.exe to let you install "all" updates to AAPro8.0 at initial install time.
Does this also include installing the Security Update 1 for 8.1.2, or, does that still have to be done separately?
    Thanks.

Yes on both accounts. We're running Sophos and I've shut down the process that auto-starts and runs it in the background. The user herself is an administrator and I've tried both on her account and the root workstation administrator with no success.

After restoring my iphone 4 to factory settings, then restoring from a recent backup, my phone will reboot but keeps coming back to the "new setup or restore from backup screen". How can I by-pass this screen to go directly to the sync apps/music screen?

Well, it's certainly behaving as though the phone that was backed up was synced to a different iTunes library.
I'm going to throw one more thing out there... Yes, you backed it up to this computer... Was the phone previously set up to sync with this computer? Or was it syncing with a different computer and you just backed it up to this one?
You may have to end up setting it up as a new device and rebuilding the phone by manually re-syncing your data, apps, music, etc. to the phone.
Trying to keep your library on a different drive can be tricky. If iTunes starts up and the library isn't available, it may end up generating a new library ID, meaning that you could easily find yourself in exactly the position you're in now...
I'm curious why there was a need to restore your phone to begin with... It may not have any bearing on this at all, but it could.

  • Need some help with this new setup I have

This is what I got for my new setup
    A64 3000 939
    K8N Neo4 Platinum MSI
1 gig of Mushkin duel chan. ddr 400
    Gigabyte GeForce 6600 GT PCI-E
The ram I have is duel chan. I have no idea what this means  Or what the ram needs to be set to is it faster than non duel ddr?

it is like water flowing through two parallel pipes instead of one.

Another example you could think of duel channel memory could be like a 2 lane motorway.  You close one lane and cars can only go down 1 lane, but when you open another lane up thats another path for the cars to travel

  • New setup questions...

    Hey Guys,
I'm moving to a new condo on 9/1 and getting Fios (switching from cable) for the first time.  In the proverbial nutshell, what I want to do is this: run two HD TiVos (with cablecards), plus my Apple Time Capsule as my primary router.  I don't care a bit about VOD or Verizon's channel guides, email, or any other silly thing they provide.  An ISP is (or ought to be) just a 'dumb pipe'.
Having done some research online today, it seems as though I need to have my ONT set up to run Ethernet, not MOCA (coax).  Is there anything else I've missed that I need to know?
Thanks!  Any suggestions greatly appreciated...  :-)
    Regards,
    Ken

You would want to have a CAT5 Cable run from the location where the ONT will be to where your Apple Router will be locatated.
Allow the FIOS Technician to install their Router and get everything up and running.  Since you are not planning on using the Verizon Router the location should not mater.  I would just have a CAT5 Patch cable available and ask them to use it to make the data conenction from the ONT to the Verizon Router.
Once the technician is done you can release the TCP/IP Address from teh Verizon Router, Power Down, Swap in your Router, and hopefully be all setup.  Here is a FAQ with more information on using different routers:

I now have a new mainboard and a SATA controller card (PCI-E 1x) coming, with two new 2TB drives. Also a cheap small SSD on the way for the OS.
What I want to do: Migrate all data to a new RAID5 array consisting of 4x 2TB drives.
Is this possible without losing any data?
    Thanks!

    Shameless self-reply-bump;
I now have the new parts except the controller. When I get that I'm going to set up the new system, trying to migrate away all data off one 2TB drive so I can pull it out of the lvm volume group.
Then I can create a new RAID5 array with 2 new and 1 old 2TB drives and start moving the data to that one. When that's done, I'll move the other 2TB drive that was in the volume group, to the RAID5 array. That way I should end up with 4 2TB HDDs in RAID5.
I need to do some research first on what stripe size to use, filesystem, etc, as well as if it's best to have the HDDs on the controller (PCI-E 1x) or on the onboard SATA controller (which should be faster since it's not bottlenecked by the PCI-E 1x bus).
    Thanks
Edit: New system installed, data migration ongoing. Managed to borrow a 2TB drive off a friend, migrated data to that so I could take one old 2TB out of the lvm, thus giving me 3 unused 2TB HDDs, on which I created a RAID5 array. Currently migrating data to it while it's initializing the parity etc...

That was the culprit! I shrunk the device usage per partition like so:
    Avail Dev Size : 3907025072 (1863.01 GiB 2000.40 GB)
    Array Size : 11702108160 (5580.00 GiB 5991.48 GB)
    Used Dev Size : 3900702720 (1860.00 GiB 1997.16 GB)
So it's using 1860 out of 1863 or so GB per partition, that way I should be safe corruption wise. It would be best to shrink the actual partitions (sd[b,c,d,g]1), but I don't know how to do that without messing everything up.

  • On a new setup I get error message "'could not activate this table (3001)''

    Hi,
I am busy setting up my new playbook and get an error message on the software update screen: "'could not activate this table (3001)'' please try changing your settings.
What settings am I meant to change?
There is a button for settings and when I press this, the playbook takes me back to the connect to WI-FI screen. The WI-FI screen shows that I am currently connected. When I click on hotspot setup, the screen comes back and says I am already connected to the internet.
Can anybody please assist me to complete my setup so that I can start using the playbook?
    Looking forward to your feedback
    Thanks a stax

Or, you can find a local UNsecured hotspot not requiring a login or password. Like a McDonalds.

  • OS X Server 3.0 new setup -- best practices?

    Alright, here's what I'm after.
I'm setting up a completely new OS X Server 3.0 environment.  It's on a fairly new (1.5 year old) Mac Mini, plenty of RAM and disk space, etc.  This server will ONLY be used interally.  It will have a private IP address such as 192.168.1.205 which will be outside of my DHCP server's range (192.168.1.10 to .199) to prevent any IP conflicts.
I am using Apple's Thuderbolt-to-Ethernet dongle for the primary network connection.  The built-in NIC will be used strictly for a direct iSCSI connection to a brand new Drobo b800i storage device.
This machine will provide the following services, rougly in order of importance:
    1.  A Time Machine backup server for about 50 Macs running Maverics.
1a.  Those networked Macs will authenticate individually to this computer for the Time Machine service
1b.  This Server will get it's directory information from my primary server via LDAP/Open Directory
    2.  Caching server for the same network of computers
    3.  Serve a NetInstall image which is used to set up new computers when a new employee arrives
    4.  Maybe calendaring and contacts service, still considering that as a possibility
Can anyone tell me the recommended "best practices" for setting this up from scratch?  I've done it twice so far and have faced problems each time.  My most frequent problem, once it's set up and running, is with Time Machine Server.  With nearly 100 percent consistency, when I get Time Machine Server set up and running, I can't administer it.  After a few days, I'll try to look at it via the Server app.  About half the time, there'll be the expected green dot by "Time Machine" indicating it is running and other times it won't be there.  Regardless, when I click on Time Machine, I almost always get a blank screen simply saying "Loading."  On rare occasion I'll get this:
    Error Reading Settings
Service functionality and administration may be affected.
Click Continue to administer this service.
    Code: 0
Either way, sometimes if I wait long enough, I'll be able to see the Time Machine server setup, but not every time.  When I am able to see it, I'll have usability for a few minutes and then it kicks back to "Loading."
I do see this apparently relevant entry in the logs as seen by Console.app (happens every time I see the Loading screen):
servermgrd:  [71811] error in getAndLockContext: flock(servermgr_timemachine) FATAL time out
servermgrd:  [71811] process will force-quit to avoid deadlock
    com.apple.launchd: (com.apple.servermgrd[72081]) Exited with code: 1
If I fire up Terminal and run "sudo serveradmin fullstatus timemachine" it'll take as long as a minute or more and finally come back with:
    timemachine:command = "getState"
    timemachine:state = "RUNNING"
I've tried to do some digging on these issues and have been greeted with almost nothing to go on.  I've seen some rumblings about DNS settings, and here's what that looks like:
    sudo changeip -checkhostname
    Primary address = 192.168.1.205
    Current HostName = Time-Machine-Server.local
The DNS hostname is not available, please repair DNS and re-run this tool.
    dirserv:success = "success"
If DNS is a problem, I'm at a loss how to fix it.  I'm not going to have a hostname because this isn't on a public network.
I have similar issues with Caching, NetInstall, etc.
So clearly I'm doing something wrong.  I'm not upgrading, again, this is an entirely clean install.  I'm about ready to blow it away and start fresh again, but before I do, I'd greatly appreciate any insight from others on some "best practices" or an ordered list on the best way to get this thing up and running smoothy and reliably.

Everything in OS X is dependant on proper DNS.  You probably should start there.  It is the first service you should be configuring and it is the most important to keep right.  Don't configure any services until you have DNS straight.  In OS X, DNS really stands for Do Not Skip.
This may be your toughest decision.  Decide what name you want the machine to be.  You have two choices.
1: Buy a valid domain name and use it on your LAN devices.  You may not have a need now for use externally, but in the future when you use VPN, Profile Manager, or Web Services, at least you are prepared.  This method is called split horizon DNS.  Example would be apple.com.  Internally you may name the server tm.apple.com.  Then you may alias to it vpn.apple.com.  Externally, users can access the service via vpn.apple.com but tm.apple.com remains a private address only.
2: Create an invalid private domain name.  This will never route on the web so if you decide to host content for internal/external use, you may run into trouble, especially with services that require SSL certificates.  Examples might be ringsmuth.int or andy.priv.  These type of domains are non-routable and can result in issues of trust when communicating with other servers, but it is possible.
Once you have the name sorted out, you need to configure DNS.  If you are on a network with other servers, just have the DNS admin create an A and PTR record for you.  If this is your only server, then you need to configure and start the DNS service on Mavericks.  The DNS service is the best Apple has ever created.  A ton of power in a compact tool.  For your needs, you likely need to just hit the + button and fill out the New Device record.  Use a fully qualified host name in the first field and the IP address of your server (LAN address).  You did use a fixed IP address and disabled the wireless card, right?
Once you have DNS working, then you can start configuring your other services.  Time Machine should be pretty simple.  A share point will be created automatically for you.  But before you get here, I would encourage starting Open Directory.  Don't do that until DNS is right and you pass the sudo changeip -checkhostname test.

  • ColdFusion 10 new feature list?

Is there a list somewhere of all the new features in this ColdFusion 10 beta?
    Thanks,
    Ron

Charlie, no I was actually talking about the link on that page Adobe ColdFusion 10 CFML Reference which I assume is because it is not a final product. So when you go into CFB 2.01 and select help it has only CF9 information, and if you select the stupid air version it too only pulls up ColdFusion 9 information.
As you can tell by the image attached, I prefer to use the Eclipse help rather than switch out of the application so that I can see the documentation and code at the same time, something Adobe doesn't think is serious enough to maintain for some reason, and prefers to use the stupid Air version.
Either way I was looking for some more docs on what tags / functions are new, so I can read up on them and to date have found nothing public.

  • DFS New Setup migrating from 2003 R2 file server to 2012 Server STD

We currently have a 2003 R2 flat file server with multiple layers of nested network shares with over 2.5TB of data. We want to migrate to DFS on 2012 Server standard version with deduplication enabled. We have never worked with DFS and deduplication and
any white paper on DFS and deduplication would be greatly appreciated. Not finding anything on DFS step by step for 2012 and in particular migrating from 2003 file share to 2012 server DFS.

Thank you for the URL to your DFS write up. This was very helpful in my research of DFS. I have a couple of questions. Do I have to start DFS with two servers? I completely understand why you should have more than one server in the DFS pool (high
availability) but is it necessary? Also after setting up the two 2012 Servers with DFS, namespaces, and new shares managed by DFS manager, how do we migrate (move or copy) the existing shares to new server without losing the permissions? From what I've read
in your write-up all end users with have read and write permissions and admins have full. Also is there a best practice on how nested the shares should be setup within DFS? From looking at your write up the shares are one folder deep only. At this
company I'm migrating from a file server with shares 3-8 layers deep build up over the last 20 years.

  • Soundtrack Pro channel mapping with a new setup

    Hello All,
Looking for a bit of guidance regarding editing / mixing for 5.1 in SoundTrack Pro and Adobe Audition.
I had been editing with both pieces of software and had a successful 5.1 set up. I could place audio in each speaker independently via the software, and it would playback properly in the software and upon export.
Recently I've switched my setup from an old Klipsch ProMedia GMX D-5.1 (that was connected directly to the editing machine via optical), to a Denon 1610 receiver and Energy speaker surround setup (again, connected directly to the editing machine via optical).
The problem I'm encountering is that I can't get either piece of editing software to output properly and / or to the specified speaker / channel. Everything, all channels, are coming out of the Fl or Fr speakers. Playback of previously created 5.1 tracks (QT or .ac3 files), in QuickTime or VLC, are mapped properly.
What am I missing? I have a suspicion that the issue is the elimination of the Klipsch Digital preamp / control module. If this is the case, do I need a DAC that goes toslink in to toslink out and into my receiver? Id so, do you have any recommendations for a DAC?
    Thanks.

I haven't tried this, but one way around this might be to teach MainStage about the offending button.
Set up a new button in MS Layout & 'Learn' your patch change to it.
Having done that, disable the new button in Edit.
If you set this up at Concert level, it ought to prevent any patch change messages getting through to the rest of MainStage.

  • Nwe house new setup tc plus powerline plus wireless

    Dear all,
Please help thos poor lost soul......
I just bought a new house and the present setup will not work as the house is to big for a good wireless connection. Here is wat I have and what i would like to do.
I have a third party cable modem for internet access. I have the new 1 TB time capsule and I have several airport express plus several powerline adapters.
I would like to have the Timecapsule act as router
I would like to have 2 wireless networks 1 for the mac tha use n speed one for the slower connections
I would like to connect the TC with a powerline adapter to have a reliable connection where the wireless network has no reach ( say the attic)
I would like to have a wireless connection whre the original network has no reach by connecting an airport express to the powerline adapter if possible so that the adapter brings the signal to the attic but the airport express distributes the signal so that my wife can use her laptop in the attic as well.
    I think:
    1. I should connect the TC to the modem by ethernet
    2. create a wireless network
    3. plug one of the powerline adapters in the ethernet port of the TC and the other in the attic
    4. Should i use the other airport express to extend the existing TC network or to connect to the wireless network? Can i have the airport express make the connection from the powerlien adapter wireless?
what settings should i use. I have tried and tried but i am clueless.
Your help would be tremendously appreciated. I am at present the laughing stock of my family as i have always told them how simple macs are but i can not get it right this time.
I am not an english speaker so forgie my mistakes.
    Thank you very much

edwarddebock, Welcome to the discussion area!
... Can i have the airport express make the connection from the powerlien adapter wireless?
    Yes
what settings should i use. I have tried and tried but i am clueless.
In this situation the AirPort Express (AX) would not be configured to extend a wireless network nor would you use WDS. The AX wouldn't really know anything about the Time Capsule.
To seamlessly roam between the networks, you would configure the AX to:
    (1) create a wireless network
    (2) act as a bridge (not sharing a single IP address)
    (3) use the same SSID (network name) as the Time Capsule.
    (4) use the same wireless encryption type/level/password as the Time Capsule.
