Collapsible Panel Group - automatic close/open?

Is there a way to set it so the Spry Collapsible Panel Group automatically closes an open panel when you select to open another one?
Thank you.

Uhm... I think you should swap the collapsible panel group for a Spry Accordion: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/accordion/AccordionSample.html

  • Insert layout 'collapsible panel groups' on DW Spry common view

    Hello,
    I am using CS4 for Windows and frequently use the 'collapsible panel groups'.  The only way I can use this at the moment is when in code, and pasting the <div id="CollapsiblePanelGroup" class="CollapsiblePanelGroup">  but I often miss out one of the divs which screws with my life.
    At the moment all I have on the insert menu is Menu Bar / Tabbed Panel / Accordian / Collapsible Panel .. and on the 'Spry common tab', the addition of Spry Tooltip.
    Is there a way to add an option for 'collapsible panel groups' to the insert menu (and even the spry common use tab) so it includes all the necessary code and asks you how many panels you want, etc, etc?
    Thanks!

    No

    Hi Lithium,
    The Spry features in Dreamweaver are a subset of the total
    features in the Spry framework. The CP Group is not an option in
    the Insert Bar, but it is pretty simple to write the code for it.
    I am sure you have seen the sample for it:

    I have been trying to generate a set of collapsible panels from a XML file.     I've managed to get only so far but have not quite fully suceeded.  The panels are all open even though I've tried to set the default as closed.     Additionally, none of them close.   I know I'm close but I've been unable to get this finished.      The page is at http://www.esaa.us/History/PastNationalSpecialtyWinners4.html.

    You haven't received any replies so far - and this generally means that no-one here knows the answer.
    You may want to ask your question over at the Spry Frameworks forums:

  • Collapsible Panels with one default open

    I'm using the collapsible panels widget, I was wondering if
    there was a way to have one panel open while the others are closed
    by default. I know it's possible with the spry accordion, but is it
    possible for the collapsible panels as well?
    Thanks!

    Yes it is possible and it has a different look and feel to
    it.
    An accordion panel can only have one panel open at a time
    whereas the sliding panel can have more open or closed.
    Try something like this:
    cpg = new
    Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanelGroup("CollapsiblePanelGroup", {
    contentIsOpen: false });
    cpg.openPanel(4);

  • When demand is high does os x mavericks automatically close open applications?

    Hi,
          I don't generally like to have lots of applications open but I do notice that even when I close some apps (such as iBooks or Preview) by clicking on the red dot, they are still showing as running in the Activity Monitor - Memory.
    Will the OS automatically close them if I open other applications and the 'Memory Pressure' goes too high or will the MacBook just slow down until I mechanically quit them piecemeal fashion in AM?
    NB: I'm am a recent ex-windows user so am not very familiar with macs.

    To see which programs are running and to quit them, you can click on the Apple symbol in the upper left-hand corner of the screen and click on "Force Quit." Any programs that are open will show up in there.  To close them you can double click on them in the list and you will see the task bar at the top change to that program.  For example, if you see that Safari is open in the list, then, when you double click on it, the task bar will change at the top to show that you are now in the Safari program. To close it all you would have to do is to click on "Safari" and out of the drop-down box, choose "Quit", and it will close the program.
    Or, you can click on the Apple symbol, and "Force Quit." Once the list pops up, select the one that you want to close and then click on "Force Quit" down below the list.  This will bring up a message asking you if you are sure that you want to close it, or something to that effect.

  • Automatically close open inbound deleveries

    Hi all,
    I have a question around how to automatically close inbout deliveries that are open.
    We GR against the P.O or the outbound delivery. An inbound delivery is created automatically on PGI of outbound delivery so we see the goods in transit in APO.
    I don;t want the system to have 000's of open inbound deliveries so does anyone know how I can set so these clear automatically?
    Rgds,
    Gomie

    Hi Gomie,
    Rather than closing the created inbound delivery, I would suggest restrict system from creating the inbound delivery out of outbound delivery. Inbound delivery gets created from outbound delivery thru' output type "SPED". Please delete / remove the output condition record (Tcode VV22) for the delivery type or the given least affected criteria and you can get rid of creation of inbound delivery.
    If the created inbound deliveries are less in number you can delete them thru' VL32N or you can use LSMW for delete no of deliveries.
    Hope this will help.

  • Print a collapsible panel group

    I have this page
    http://www.nmprc.state.nm.us/faqs.htm
    and I need to find a way for people to print each FAQ. Some will
    shrink to fit on one page, but some of the FAQs are rather lengthy.
    I tried (which I adapted from some code I read in a post by
    kinblas on printing an accordion panel)
    <style type="text/css" media="print">
    .CollapsiblePanel {
    overflow: visible !important;
    .CollapsiblePanelContent {
    display: block !important;
    overflow: visible !important;
    height: auto !important;
    </style>
    and it works to some extent, it opens each panel and prints
    the data, but it cuts off at the bottom of page 1 and will not
    populate the following pages

    <style type="text/css" media="print">
    .sidebar2 {
    display: block !important;
    overflow: visible !important;
    height: auto !important;
    .sidebar_brace2 {
    display: block !important;
    overflow: visible !important;
    height: auto !important;
    .CollapsiblePanelGroup {
    overflow: visible !important;
    .CollapsiblePanel {
    overflow: visible !important;
    .CollapsiblePanelContent {
    display: block !important;
    overflow: visible !important;
    height: auto !important;
    </style>
    ok, with the above code and modifying the sidebar2 properties
    slightly I got it
    I think it was the CollapsiblePanelGroup not being listed in
    the print css that was keeping it from working...as soon as I got
    that to work, I was able to fix my divs
    thanks

  • Collapsible Panels - Links to open one, and close others

    Hi,
    I am new to Dreamweaver and have been creating my site by
    learning as I go along. I have already read through all the other
    related topics associated with Collapsible Panels on this blog and
    have still not found an answer. I have been able to open and close
    Collapsible Panels by using links - but unfortunately, I need more
    than just opening and closing.
    On my site i have approximately 5 pages, all with the same
    header and Menu bar. The Information (that i have presented in
    numerous Collapsible Panels) does however vary from page to page.
    What I need to try and figure out is:
    How can I open one collapsible panel and close all others? I
    have seen the one example which leads to my next question:
    How can I group Panels? Some examples of how to open one and
    close all others use this grouping. Is there any other way of
    opening one and closing all others without grouping?
    Lastly, is it possible to set up a link that can be viewed on
    one page which when clicked opens the relevant page and collapsible
    panel? i.e. on my About Us page there is a link (using the Menu
    bar) for one of my several services on the services drop down menu
    (but services is on a different page with the same setup). When a
    viewer clicks on the specific service, is it possible to get the
    site to open the services page, and open the relevant collapsible
    panel (with all other Panels closed)?
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated - I have been
    searching for days now and cannot seem to find any
    answers/directions in laymans terms.
    Kind regards,
    John

    This page has an example that has a link that can open and
    close a panel:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/collapsiblepanel/collapsible_panel_sample. htm
    One way to do this would be to have a single link that would
    open one of your panels using the code, but then add to it code
    that closes each of the other panels, for example:
    <a href="#"
    onclick="CollapsiblePanel4.open();CollapsiblePanel5.close();CollapsiblePanel6.close();">O pen
    4, close 5 and 6</a>
    To make this work, you'll need to look that the panel
    constructors at the bottom of your page and make sure to match up
    the panel variable names i.e. "var CollapsiblePanel1 =...." the
    variable is CollapsiblePanel1.
    You could also write a function that gathers together the
    various panels you have on the page and then pass to it only the
    panel that you want kept open. For now, though, it might be best to
    use the above method, given your expertise. And taking that even
    further, you could apply the function call unobtrusively. Both the
    function call and the unobtrusive part you can work on later to get
    this working for now.
    > How can I group Panels? Some examples of how to open one

    > use this grouping. Is there any other way of opening one

    This is a little confusing, on one hand you ask about how to
    group, but then ask how not to group. There is a concept of a
    collapsible panel group:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/collapsiblepanel/CollapsiblePanelGroupSamp le.html
    But there is another type of group, that may be more what
    you're looking for, and that's an Accordion panel, which is similar
    to the collapsible panel group, with the exception that it can only
    have one panel open at a time.

    Probably the easiest way to do this particular one would be
    to make sure that you have all of the panels set to be closed when
    the page loads, and then take a look at the code for the last
    example on this page:
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/samples/utils/URLUtilsSample.html
    That example uses a tabbed panel, but the concept is the
    same, use a URL parameter to determine what to show. You'll need to
    link in the SpryURLUtils file in the Spry download package (look in
    the includes folder):
    http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/spry/home.html
    Essentially, your link will look similar to:
    sample.html?panel=1
    Then your code could look something like:
    var params = Spry.Utils.getLocationParamsAsObject();
    var CollapsiblePanel1 = new
    Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel1",
    {contentIsOpen:(params.panel==1 )} );
    var CollapsiblePanel2 = new
    Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel2",
    {contentIsOpen:(params.panel==2 )} );
    Basically what this is doing is creating an object from the
    URL parameters. Then for each of the panels the constructor has
    code that determines whether or not to expand the panel when the
    page loads. So it checks the value of params.panel to see if it
    matches 1 (for the first one), if it does, then that means that
    contentIsOpen is set to true, if it is some other number or is not
    present at all, then that means that the panel is closed. This
    would then be repeated down the line for how ever many panels you
    want to operate like that.

  • How to force page to scroll when collapsible panel is opened by link

    Hi,
    I have seen similiar questions asked but not answered, so maybe there isn't away to do this.
    I have numerous collapsible panels going all the way down the page, actually I just formed a Collapsible Panel Group. They are opened by a list of links at the top of the page.
    This is an example of a link...
    <li><a href="#CollapsiblePanel14" onclick="cpg.openPanel(13);">AKC CGC & TDI Testing</a></li>
    And this is the javascript at the bottom of the page...
    var cpg = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanelGroup("CollapsiblePanelGroup1", { contentIsOpen: false, duration: 800 });
    When a link to one of the lower panels is clicked, I would like the page to scroll down so when the panel opens all of the content is within view.
    Is there any way to do this?
    Thanks
    Dennis

    On line 431 of your JS change
    this.content.style.height = this.toHeight + "px";
    to
    this.content.style.height = "auto";

  • How to maintain the state of a spry collapsible panel

    how can i get the index of an open collapsible panel dynamically... i've used two collapsible panels...if the second panel is open, then after page refresh, automatically the second one closes and the default one i.e. the first panel opens....

    It is best if you supply a link to your site so that we can see for ourselves what you need to do thus eliminating the need for me to ask you if you have used a collapsible panel group or two single panels. Also it would save my time in trying to reconstruct what I think it is what you want.

  • Expand or collapse all collapsible panels at once.

    Hi,
    I have a page with a number of collapsible panels on it generated from SpryData.
    I know the collapsible panel names because their IDs are generated from the Spry data with
    <div class="CollapsiblePanel" id="cp{ds_RowNumber}" spry:repeat="Events">
    I have a couple of links on the page that I want our members to be able to click to be be able to collapse or expand all collapsible panels at once. How can I return a reference to the collapsible panel objects so I can close / open them using the open / close functions of the widget etc?
    See http://www.thehmc.co.uk/Events4.html and the links with the text (Show or hide all event details)
    i.e. I have a function and I know Spry.$$ is not what I want , but what do I need to return the object reference?
    function dhide()
    var panelCount = Events.getRowCount();
    for (var p = 0;p < panelCount;p++)
      panelID = '#cp' + p;
      var mypanel = Spry.$$(panelID);
      var a = panelID.close();
    Thanks
    Phiol

    Hi,
    Yes I found CollapsiblePanelGroup in the Spry 1.6.1 samples and am now using the OpenAllPanels function.
    Finding the collapsible panel group API in the documentation isn't the most intuitive and you may wish to review.

    Depending on the development environment, I can imagine that DW has a problem.
    My systems is Windows7, i7 processor, 8GB ram and it does take a while for DW to add an extra collapsible panel.
    Possible solutions
    use accordion panels
    hand code the second collapsible panel
    use a Collapsible Panel Group
    To hand code all you have to do is add the following to your document, in the appropriate places amking sure that the ID corresponds.
    <div id="CollapsiblePanel2" class="CollapsiblePanel">
       <div class="CollapsiblePanelTab" tabindex="0">Tab</div>
       <div class="CollapsiblePanelContent">Content</div>
    </div>
    and
    var CollapsiblePanel2 = new Spry.Widget.CollapsiblePanel("CollapsiblePanel2");

  • Modify Daily Collapsible Panel

    Hi,
    The following thread is very similar to what I would like to
    do.
    Daily
    Collapsible Panels
    But, instead of opening an additional panel each day, I would
    like to replace the content within one panel each day.
    Any ideas?
    Neal

    If you have a feed or a dynamic page that is changing daily,
    you can look into the HTML Panel widget.
