Collation as a saved default

Is there any way to make the "Collated" check-box a saved option? I believe in past versions it has been. But right now, no matter what other options I try to save, and no matter what program or printer I have chosen, the "Collated" checkbox is always unchecked when the print menu appears.
(On a side note, why in the world would non-collated be the default, when most jobs would want some number of full copies rather than copies of each page separately?)
But for now, it's killing me that there doesn't seem to be a way to do it. At least on my machine. I've tried trashing com.apple.print.customsettings but this did not help. But please let me know if you ARE able to save that setting, since of course this would be some indication that something is wrong with my machine/software.

So, in trying various things, I was reading the instructions for an archive and install in preparation for performing one, and on a whim I opened the Print dialog in Adobe Reader. No problems there! No matter how often I changed from either printer-to-printer or preset-to-preset, the "collated" checkbox was always checked (as it should have been).
So I wanted to be thorough. After trying every program I could find on the entire computer that had a print dialog, from Terminal to Preview (specifically making sure to try some of those same files that seemed to be printable-without-collate-issues) to ChocoFlop, I found Adobe Acrobat is the ONLY program for which the Print dialog does not change to an unchecked-collate option when I change printers. Does that make sense to anyone?
Since Reader seemed to be an anomoly, I tried uninstalling Reader by hand - but I'm sure I missed files here and there. In any case, that didn't change the fact that every other program displays this issue.
I've erased an external drive and installed Leopard on it. Tomorrow I'll bring it into work to see if this fresh, pristine system install has the same issues. But can anyone think of why Adobe's Print dialog would behave properly and no other application's dialog is working?

Seeking help on why Acrobat Standard Ver. 7 Not saving Default preferences.  Specifically, the zoom level. It always reverts back to something other than the 100% I set it at. The operating systerm is Windows 7, Pro if that helps.

As I recall, you are the first person who has reported even getting AA7 to work in Win7. Any operations with that combination are likely to work with luck. I assume you mean the preferences set under the edit menu. You might try changing AA7 to run in compatibility mode and see if that does the job.

  • Saved default Parameter values not appearing in Run Time version of report

I've created a report in Crystal 2008 and set up a number of parameters. I supplied each of them with a default value. I check it out in Crystal Reports and a nice looking window opens up that shows all my parameters with the default values. I save the report and open it within our application and upon pressing print, a plain looking box appears that lists my parameters but none of the saved values are included. Is this a problem with my version of Crystal Reports (ver. 12.2.0.290) that I can get an update for to fix; Or, is this a problem with the crviewer.dll that we are running in our application (ver 11.0.0.1282, dated March 8, 2005)?
I'm worried about updating to the latest Crystal 2008 crviewer.dll because I've read where it is only for reports with Saved Data and that won't work for us. We need the ability to refresh the data on the reports.

    Hi Mike,
It likely is the viewer causing the problem. 2008 now has cascading parameters and the activex viewer does not support them.
All I can suggest is you try CR XI R2 which you can upgrade for free, you have to contact CIC to get a keycode to deploy your app, and test again.
R2 is out of support now so no fixes available...

  • Problem saving Default settings - Need Help

Hello. New user to this forum.
I am running BB Desktop Software V. 7.1.0.41 (Bundle 42) on a Windows 7 64 bit "Ultimate" platform. I'm using a "domain" account (from Active Directory) and it has "Enterprise Administrator" rights.
When I start BB Desktop, I click on "Tools--> Desktop Options," and then I click the "Change" button to change the "Deffault File location" for saving backup files (it defaults to "MY Documents\BlackBerry\Backup"). I change it, save it, and it changes to the new directory location I specify.  I then do my backup and sync operation, and exit the program.
However, when I restart the program for the next backup and  sync, I find the the location has returned to the default location ("My Documents\BlackBerry\Backup") and not what I changed it to the previous session.  I change it again, and it stays changed but only for the duration of that session, If I exit the program and return to it, it goes back to the default setting...
Is this the normal behvaior of the program? Are we not allowed to change the default backup location permanently? Or is something else stopping it from changing permanently? Perhaps a Local or domain policy setting (I dion't know if Blackberry Desktop Software is affected by these settings)...
Any help greately appreciated. It's just a pain to have to change the location every time I enter the program.
    Thanks very much.

    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
Hi All, this is my first post and question.
I have LR3 running on 2 PC's. I wanted to change a couple of the default settings. On one of the PC's, I made a couple of changes and saved them using, Develop-Set Default Settings. When I restarted LR3, these changes were saved and being used. On the other PC, I did the exact same thing and when I restarted LR3, the changes had not been saved. Any idea why this may have happened?
Is it possible that you are using a different body with your other PC.  The Develop presets are camera dependant. That's the only thing that I can think of.
    function(){return A.apply(null,[this].concat($A(arguments)))}
Also, I am wondering about watermarks used in LR3. On one of my PC's there is a watermarks called, A Charming Font. On the other PC, in LR3, that is not am option. I really like this watermark. Can I somehow add it to the one that does not have it?
I believe that you should find the watermark somewhere within the "Application Support (may be called something else on a PC)" folder for Lightroom. Im not sure where that would be on a PC though. Try searching on your OS (ctrl+F) for "A Charming Font."

  • Saving "Default " information in contacts

    Hi All
I'm hoping that someone has the answer because my fingers are starting to sting, this is the third time that I have had to go through the 150 contacts on my E71, and set the Default for Text Message, Call, email, Video call etc, It happened when I sync'd with Ovi.
All my contacts are sync'd with Mail for Exchange, and normally I switch all the other syncs off because of this problem, the other night I noticed that Ovi didnt have the correct handset so I mistakingly sync'd it and it wiped all my defaults off.
Surely there is some way of saving the default contact information? - on my backups - none of the default information is saved there either.
    Any ideas appreciated.

  • HOW TO CUSTOM CODE SAVING/DEFAULT FILE ITEM BLOBS IN PORTAL

I am trying to create a link for Portal users to allow them to upload a
specific File type in Portal. This is taking advantage of Portal's Content
Management features (not the same as iFS). I want to know what API's to use
and the steps to perform to create a process for users to upload a file to
Portal with default settings such as the filename is the Display Name and the
image/icon is set accordingly to the extension in the filename. i.e.
mydocument.doc would display in Portal as mydocument.doc with a Microsoft Word
image/icon (in Portal /images/word.gif) rendered next to it. This is very
similar to the List View in a Portal Page. Can a Portal Developer lead me in
the right direction how to do this. If the PLSQL code wasn't obfuscated, I
could see how Oracle developed the PORTAL.wwsbr_ui_bulkaction.render_list

Recommend you use Firefox and firebug it is best tool ever invented!

  • Saving default values for checkboxes

    Hi all,
one of our customers has recently upgraded ´their NW7.00 (SAP ECC 6.0) system to basis SP18. As a result of this, it is no longer possible for users to save default values, in Web Dynpro ABAP applications, neither for checkboxes nor for radiobuttons.
This worked fine before the application of the support package. The user could simply right click the UI element and select "Use current value sas default" from the context menu, as is still the case for all other input-enabled UI elements.
This option is simply no longer available in the context menu for checkboxes & radiobuttons.
I have had a look through the OSS notes in the SP and also the "Side-Effects" report, but can't find anything to indicate that this has been done deliberately by SAP.
Before I raise this as a question to SAP, does anbody out there have any more information on this issue. Is it a bug or a feature?
    Thanks,
    Mike Speight

    Hi Mike Speightl,
You can save the default values in the Webdynpro by using the Method (WD_DO_INT).
    For exp :
If Emp is your Node name.
ID and Name are your attributes in which you wish to put default values after execution:
    lo_el_emp->set_attribute( exporting name = 'ID' value = '1001' ).
    lo_el_emp->set_attribute( exporting name = 'NAME' value = 'SAP' ).
When you execute your application, it will display default values in ID : 1001
                                                                                    Name : SAP
Just before loading any view, this method will be executed :  WD_DO_INT
If you are referring to default chkbox selected after executing then refer to the concept   Initialize lead selection
If this is not the issue then please let me know.

  • Outlook not saving default profile

When I start outlook 2010, I click an option to save my default profile.  But when I start up, it doesn't remember my settings. Is there a way to fix this? What does "set as default profile" really mean?

This is a solution as a means to an end. <o:p></o:p>
The real problem is that Microsoft Outlook is supposed to override this setting. The idea behind "Set as Default Profile" is to make it to where
this does not prompt the user again. This should be fixed.<o:p></o:p>
What should happen, is Microsoft Outlook should be flipping HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging
Subsystem\Profiles, Value "DefaultProfile" to the selected profile. After this, the system should then flip off "Prompt for a profile to be used". This can be done at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Exchange\Client\Options\PickLogonProfile Reg_SZ
Value set to 0. This will then make the process of having to go via control panel null.  <o:p></o:p>
I'm specifically thinking about Domain environments. Lock downs require us moving users to change control panel options, we would benefit greatly from
this. I suggest a hot fix for this if there is not one already and if there is, that would be my suggested fix in the future. <o:p></o:p>

  • Authorization for saving Default Layout Settings

    Hello,
In transaction /AFS/MD04, we would like to restrict users from changing the default screen layout.  When they try to save a screen layout, we would like the checkbox to default to "User-specific" and not allow them to change the default.
Also, we would like to restrict those who can change the default with a parameter id.
To recreate:  Enter a material and plant number and press enter.  On screen 2000, subscreen 800 is the screen to which I'm referring.  It is here that we would like to control the settings.
I have done this in custom reports using the following code:
*Check authorization to change default layout
GET PARAMETER ID 'ZSD_VARIANT_RETURNS' FIELD lv_pid.
      IF lv_pid = 'X'.
        lo_layout->set_default( abap_true ).
      ENDIF.
I have seen some posts refer to transaction SHD0.  Can this be handled with that transaction code?
    Update on 3/2/2010:
I have seen some other posts regarding this issue and also seen OSS notes 409190 & 601803.
Our security team says that changing auth object S_ALV_LAYO would prevent users from changing the layout at all.  Is this correct?  We want to restrict who can set the Default Layout and give everyone else the ability to set the User Specific settings.
I have seen other posts refer to the I_SAVE parameter, the OSS notes also mention it, but it isn't clear to me how to use that.
We would like to do this in a SAP transaction - /AFS/MD04 - is this possible?
    3/3/2010:
It appears taking away authority to object S_ALV_LAYO was the answer after all.
    Thanks,

When object S_ALV_LAYO was taken out of my security profile, I was only able to save User-specific layouts and not Default layouts.  This was our objective.

  • Setting and saving default opening page: how?

I've gone nuttier this time. I just installed Illustrator CS6 onto my MacBook Pro OS 10.8.2.  I want to set up a default opening page but this time, it's not a clear path to do so. How do I set up an opening page with a new font, rulers, empty fill etc. as the default page without having to search for a template each time I open a new page? Where does the default page to go now? etc. I've been online and in this forum all morning but nothing has answered this (only older versions).  Or, please point me to the appropriate forum. Thanks
    Big vein in forehead,

Same place it always has been but the HD/Users/<yourname>/Library is hidden in OS 10.7 and 10.8. The path should be HD/Users/<yourname>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Illustrator CSX/en_US/New Document Profiles

  • Saved primary default report making problems!

I have an interactive report for which I used to have an "order by column Desc" in its sql query. I also had saved a primary default view of that. Now I have found out that the order by is making my page rendering way too slow and removed it from the query. But it seems that the default view is still running with the original query. I tried deleting the whole report and creating a new one, but that did not help either. When I run the trace file I still see my old query.
Does anyone have an idea how to get rid of the saved default report?

I figured how to fix it myself. In case anyone wants to know:
If Actions menu is activated go to Format->sort (or any unwanted formatting)

  • How to set different default interactive reports for different user groups?

I'm probably overlooking an obvious solution, but how do I set different default interactive report for different user groups?
For the same interactive report, I want one set of users to see a default where the default filter is based on column X. However, another group of users doesn't have authorization to see that column so I need to set the default filter to something else for them.
    Thanks

You can set a filter on a report in a URL - would that help? I think with apex 4.x you can also link to a saved default report or alternative report...
