Color anomaly in publishing
It looks like a strange anomaly in Cp5 (Win7). My project is divided into several sub-projects, each published individually as a pdf file. All parts have exactly the same Table of Contents (TOC) and Closed Caption (CC) settings. But the background to the CC text in some files is transluscent, and in others it is opaque. While the client won't reject the job on that basis, they would like to the uniformity throughout the project. Thanks for your suggestions!
Have you checked the CC settings in each of these project files to ensure the CC background Alpha is set to the same percentage?

Font color issues in published output
I have just upgraded a couple of older Captivate projects to 5.5.
On some of the slides I have click boxes set to open URLs when clicked, and I have colored the text blue and underlined it so that it looks like a hyperlink.
When viewing the published content I've noticed that my hyperlink text is black, instead of blue.
Has anyone run into this issue before? I've searched the forums and couldn't easily find any references to this issue, although this is not the first time I've seen this problem with my courses.
Thanks in advance for any help!
BrianRod, thank you so much for the reply.
The blue is just your standard #0000FF blue, which should be safe with 8 bit quality, and the slides were set to 8 bit quality the last time they were published (and worked) in an older version Captivate. Kind of weird, right?
BUT, being the optimist that I am, I took your suggestion and tried setting one of the slides to 24 bit, and the blue is blue once again rather than black! Very bizarre, but faster than the work around I had found yesterday so I'm probably going to roll with it. I found that changing the slide quality to 24 bit has a minimal impact on the size of the published swf file, so I'm good.
Again, oddly enough, my work around mentioned above involves changing the default caption style to what Captivate calls "default caption capture style". With my caption style set as this my blue is blue, even with the slide quality set at 8 bit. I took one of my older courses and went through changing all of the caption styles. Took me a little while as changing the caption style changes the font, font color, font styles, font sizes, paragraph alignment settings, etc., etc.
And on a side track, I got to thinking after I noticed that changing the caption style seemed to fix the font color issue... My original project used a custom caption style, one that I had not yet "reinstalled" since upgrading to Captivate 5.5. So, I added the custom caption styles, even changed the name of the caption style and tried to reapply it, but no dice.
It seems that, with the slide quality set at 8 bit, if I use a caption style of "default caption style", my blue is black on publish. But, if I use a different caption style, such as "default capture caption style", my blue is blue, even at 8 bit quality. -
Why does Type color change when published?
I am designing a site that has horizontal main menu and underneath that is a 3 tab panel shown below.
Each tab brings up a new panel. The tab in the center is in the "Active state" and the others are in the "Normal state". The Rollover state & the Mouse down states have a soft yellow background. The color "key" for the user for an active button is both the background of royal blue and the type color of bright yellow. The screen shot above was taken in the "Design" screen of Muse.
When I switch to the "Preview" screen, the screen shot below shows the color change:
I have repeatedly gone back to change both the Font Type and the font color in the "active" state, but there must be something I'm missing that throws me for a loop.
I've been messing with this for a week or so and just can't get it to work.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
KenZak,

Pages have wrong color when published
Hello, I have been trying to publish a site with iWeb, and everything is going fairly well except for the following problem: Some of the pictures publish with the wrong colors (greens show up as pink, among other things). The rest of the pictures publish normally. They are all jpgs, all of which I moved into iWeb from the media browser.
Anybody know what's up? Anybody having color issues upon publish? I am working from a macbook on this project.
dual 2.0 G5 and G4 P'book Mac OS X (10.4.8)I think what is happening is that your JPGs are being converted to PNG by iWeb. And the particular images that are having color shifts do not have the right color information and that's why it shifts when converted to PNG by iWeb.
Try this... you need to make your JPGs the exact size that you will be using them at in iWeb, or at least capture a PNG that has the correct color info. The easiest way to do this is to have iWeb open to that page and then take a screenshot of the image in iWeb. Use Apple-Shift-4 to draw a rectangle around the image. Then bring this image back into iWeb. Then publish. You should see an improvement in color. -
How do I change the font color for numbering in a matching question slide?
I have a grey image on a question slide, but the numbering for the answers in a matching question is defaulting to grey so learners can't see to match up. How can I change the font color of these choices? Thanks.
You probably edited the master slide without changing the theme colors? Check the Object Style for Answers in the Object Style Manager. The numbering takes the same color as the answer text.
All depends on the Theme colors palette that you are using. Normally Question answers use the darkest tint of the fourth color. I started blogging about color management, but description of the use of Theme colors will be published later.

Change the Standard SAP background color(blue) in SRM EBP
Hi All,
I have cleint requirement to change the standard background color in EBP ITS application. Can anyone help me out in finding way to make color changes as required. I am not getting where exactly change needs to be made. I tried looking at BBPGLOBAL internet service but couldnt figure it out.
Thanks in Advance.
Yaseen.Hi Yaseen,
you can change background colors in SE80 in the css-style-sheet:
Navigate to ITS-Service BBPGLOBAL -> Theme99 -> Mime Objects -> STYLE -> EBPAPPLICATION.CSS
Change or insert the BACKGROUND-COLOR - Tag for the different styles which are used in HTML-Templates.
Example: BACKGROUND-COLOR: #306897
Afterwards publish the style. It's a little difficult to find the styles.

Very strange color phenomenon - Please help!
Hello,
I just got a new iMac and moved all my software and files via firewire account transfer from my Mac Book to the new Mac. Everything works well, as expected, but when I open my Domain.sites2 File (I have iWeb08) on the iMac, a strange color phenomenon occurs: Identical colors specified for page background and placed shapes on the background look differently in iWeb, but when published, they look the same.
When I open the identical file on my Mac Book, the colors look the same (and publish the same of course). I've tried deleting the color shapes and creating them new, changing background color back and forth, but still: a color applied to the background of a page and a shape ontop of that page looks dramatically different. A purple looks intensive in the background, that same purple applied to a shape looks a lot mor pastell-ish and light, almost as if the color was converted to cmyk when applied to the shape, and left in vibrant RGB in the background.
Now this means that on the iMac in iWeb I cannot edit my site any more. I don't see what I do. If I make the colors for page background and shapes look identical in iWeb (or even specify identical color values), and publish, they look differently in the browser (I checked in multiple browsers).
I checked everthing for hidden transparency or cmyc conversion options that might be accidentally selected but can't find anything. I changed my monitor color settings, but that doesn't seem to be it, either.
What is happening to the color and why do colors on shapes look different than color in the background? Help. What am I doing wrong?
Thanks
PetraCould be that monitor gamma, when calibrating the monitor, is different on old and new system.
Not that it should matter, but both browsers and iWEB handles colors in strange ways and sometimes use the Monitor color profile instead of for instance the sRGB color profile.

Manually tag a photo as Published
I have LR 3.3 and Win 7.
I have set up my Facebook Publish Services and have used it without problems. The problem is sometimes I add pictures to FB from outside LR (or at least I used to), and now I find the need to tell LR to consider a bunch of pictures as if they would have been published (the ones I manually uploaded to FB). Is there a way to achieve this?
ThanksYou could use a color label for published images.
And/or you could create a keyword <Published to Flickr>.

The link colors I set using the Inspector appear as I want them in iWeb, but aren't being changed on published web pages. I read in this forum:
... The thing with hyperlink colors is to make sure that the "Normal" and "Visited" colors and U settings are the same for each link ...
BUT surely it must be possible (and is certainly desirable) to have different 'Normal' and 'Visited' colors?
How can I do this, and make my chosen colors appear on published pages?
ThanksWelcome to the Apple Discussions. You can have any combination of normal and visited colors for each text based hyperlink on your page. You are referring to text based hyperlinks, right?
What's the URL of your site so we can examine it first hand?

IWeb photos color do not match with the same posted on the internet
Hello,
my question is about the quality of the images posted by iWeb on the internet.
Yesterday, I sucessfully published a simple page with two images, and the color of them was faded compared to the images showing on the iWeb application.
I used the 'Adjust' panel to increase the color, and after published again, but althought the images were more expressive, they still did not match the equivalent in iWeb application, continued not so vivid.
What might that be?
More or less a month ago, I also published images and the colors matched perfectly with the material seen in the iWeb application.I have placed two comparison examples in my file sharing folder.
Maybe it might help explain what I am experiencing. The differences may be subtle but they exist.
For my file sharing the address is
http://homepage.mac.com/hito_/Menu4.html
Maybe this might help.

Publish Calendar Group and events location lost
After publish the Calendar Group, which may contain more than one individual calendar and coded in different colors correspondingly, the published online view of the calendar group shows only one color. Is there a design fault in this? Shouldn't the published Calendar group retain the original individual calendar colors?
Also, the published calendar, individual events lost their locations. When I publish the calendar I checked the box for title and notes. There is nowhere for checking the location. Is this the reason for not publishing the location? Please correct the design. Thanks.I'm also wondering why iCal event locations and URLs don't appear in a published (via .Mac) calendar. When I click on an event, I get Subject, Date, and Summary info (which is equivalent to the Notes field). It does not show the Location or URL field, however.
Any ideas on how to get this information on a published calendar? -
The hit counter button does not show up after publishing page.
I insert the hit counter button to a new blog post and when I publish, the button does not show up.
I would really like to use the counter as this is a blog for a class I am teaching, and I would like to track
student viewing.
Also, sometimes the colors do not publish properly, specifically with links/rollover feature.
Help!
And thanks in advance for all you who know wayyy more than I do! I hope to return
the favor someday.First, thanks for the quick response Roddy.
Once I posted the question, similar topics came up and what
I did was remove the hit counter, publish the page without the hit counter.
Then inserted the hit counter again and wah-lah!
Thanks for your reply, this information is correct and helpful as well.
Very appreciative! -
Printing iCal grid lines...?
Hello.
I would like to print my weekly calendar with the grid lines showing.
Is there a way to do this?
Thank you.Hi Jack,
I'm sure anyone who actually knows details of iCal in Leopard is not allowed to say.
Currently you could have 3-4 categories in different colors, but when you publish to the web/.Mac they are all in the same color
I currently publish three seperate calendars to a Webdav server and use PHPiCalendar to view them. They all show up as separate individually coloured calendars.
I'd submit your suggestions as user feedback if I were you.
Best wishes

How to include text as HTML elements (see DOMElement)
I am working with Flash PRO CC v. 14.0. to convert my Flash website to HTML5 / javascript
I have converted a file to the HTML5 Canvas
I am very happy that the new Flash Pro has the feature to convert to HTML5 canvas
HOWEVER:
In my original .FLA file project I use only one font: Copperplate Bold. I use several sizes of that font within the project / scene
In the original file for all text I use static text, Letter spacing, AntiAlias, AutoKern and single line (Linetype)
- none of which the HTML5 canvas seem to allow / support?
How do I maintain the FONT look that I have chosen in my original FLASH project, after I convert to HTML5 canvas?
Is there a way in the HTML canvas to maintain the FONT look that I want?
HTML5 canvas will not allow Font embedding
The device font destroys the LOOK of my Copperplate Bold font.
How do I include text as HTML elements (see DOMElements)?
WARNINGS generated when I convert the original file into an HTML Canvas:
Warnings generated while copying/importing in 140827a HTML test.fla:
* AntiAlias is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been converted to DeviceFonts in an instance of Text.
* AutoKern is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been removed in an instance of Text.
* Frame Scripts have been commented
* LetterSpacing is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been converted to 0.0 in an instance of Text.

* Some artwork contains Hairline stroke, which is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been converted to Solid.
* StaticText is not supported in HTML5 Canvas document, and has been converted to DynamicText in an instance of Text.
New HTML Canvas Document created.
NOTE: So far the only way I have been able to maintain the font look is to convert the fonts to .png files
This is painstaking work that I would like to avoid.
Even then I still get a WARNING when I test my scene - (no doubt because I left the original FONT text in guide layers)
After conversion ON TEST SCENE:
WARNINGS:
Frame numbers in EaselJS start at 0 instead of 1. For example, this affects gotoAndStop and gotoAndPlay calls. (18)
Only circular (not oval) radial gradients are supported. (85)
Text support is limited. It is generally recommended to include text as HTML elements (see DOMElement). (6)
Color effects are published as a filter and subject to the same limitations. (4)
Filters are very expensive and are not updated once applied. Cache as bitmap is automatically enabled when a filter is applied. This can prevent animations from updating. (2)
Content with both Bitmaps and Buttons may generate local security errors in some browsers if run from the local file system.
HOW CAN I MAINTAIN the FONT LOOK that I have chosen for my project?
How do I include text as HTML elements (see DOMElements)?
ANY HELP will be appreciated

3. Add this code to your website:

What are the appropriate document/stage dimensions in Flash for tablet optimized apps?
What are the appropriate document/stage dimensions in Flash (width x height in pixels) for tablet optimized apps?
(Dec. 2013)
Using Flash and AIR for Android/iOS I would like to develop a educational interactive title optimized for tablet PCs, hopefully both the Android but finally also the iOS platforms. With so many tablets on the market today and with different resolutions (and even aspect ratios) I have difficulty deciding what document/stage size to set for my project/app. I have been experimenting with an Android Google Nexus 7 and Samsung Note 10 tablets and discovered that Android automatically resizes the app's stage to fully fit the screen of the tablet BUT this creates the following two issues for me:
if the stage/document size in Flash is too small and I include bitmaps when the app's stage is enlarged to fit the tablet screen the bitmaps look pixelated.
If I make the stage dimensions too big so that there is no bitmap pixelation because the bitmaps will be shrank instead of enlarged, I am afraid that on some older tablets with slower processors the app may be too slow to run (but I have to say that I did not experiment with very large stage dimensions yet).
Until today I had looked at some of the most commonly used tablets on the market and their resolutions Google Nexus 7, Samsung Note, iPads etc and was inclined towards using a stage size of approximately 1280 x 720 pixels which I considered a medium solution, but now the new generation tablets came out (Nexus 7 gen 2, iPad Mini with Retina, iPad AIR etc) with much higher resolutions so I don't know what size to use now. Anybody has any suggestions?
I would appreciate any ideas and suggestions on this matter. You explained your problem well enough that looking at the picture won't matter. It looks like you found out too late that one of the first things you should do when you create a Flash file is set the movie properties, which include the dimensions and other things like background color, frame rate, publish settings, etc. While the string that I just listed can pretty much be revised anytime, the dimensions should really be done before anything else, when possible.
One way to go about resizing is to leave the file as is and specify the larger dimensions in the html page code. This could end up reducing the quality of any bitmaps you might have in the file(s) since you would essentially be enlarging them, but any Flash drawn elements will resize cleanly.
If you resize the stage, then you don't have much choice but to resize and relocate everything in it keyframe by keyframe.
