Color Window in a Screenset

Does anyone know if it's possible to permanently have the colors window open???? I have dual monitors so I have the space and it would be so much more convenient just to have it open all the time, since logic doesn't automatically assign any interesting colors. It's a pain to hit the key command all the time... mine keeps disappearing when I try and save it in a screenset.

JFrame jf[] = new JFrame[5];
for (int x = 0; x < 5; x++) {
     jf[x] = new JFrame("Frame "+x);
     jf[x].setSize(500, 300);
     jf[x].setLocation(50*x, 50*x);
     jf[x].show();

  • Logic 8 crashing when double click on color in the color window

    Try trash the com.apple.iPhoto.plist file from the HD/Users/ Your Name / library / preferences folder.
    (On 10.7: Hold the option (or alt) key while clicking on the Go menu in Finder to access the User Library)
    (Remember you'll need to reset your User options afterwards. These include minor settings like the window colour and so on. Note: If you've moved your library you'll need to point iPhoto at it again.)
    What's the plist file?
    For new users: Every application on your Mac has an accompanying plist file. It records certain User choices. For instance, in your favourite Word Processor it remembers your choice of Default Font, on your Web Browser is remembers things like your choice of Home Page. It even recalls what windows you had open last if your app allows you to pick up from where you left off last. The iPhoto plist file remembers things like the location of the Library, your choice of background colour, whether you are running a Referenced or Managed Library, what preferences you have for autosplitting events and so on. Trashing the plist file forces the app to generate a new one on the next launch, and this restores things to the Factory Defaults. Hence, if you've changed any of these things you'll need to reset them. If you haven't, then no bother. Trashing the plist file is Mac troubleshooting 101.

  • Reset Color Window/Picker

    I am having somet trouble accessing some of the interface options (color wheel, color sliders, color palettes, image palettes, crayons) in certain applications (Pages, Numbers, TextEdit). I believe this occured when I upgraded to Lion from Snow Leopard. In Snow Leopard, the Color WIndow/Picker had the clear oval/lozenge button that allowed the interface options to be hidden. In Lion, that button is gone and I am unable to unhide the interface options.

    I have tried deleting "com.apple.iWork09.plist" and I still just have the Crayons, with no option to choose any other color picker.
    You may have picked the wrong preference list because you made the wrong assumption. In your post you are making the assumption that the Colour Picker is part of Apple iWork.
    If instead you were to assume that the Colour Picker is part of the operating system then you would want to try deleting NSColorPanelSwatches.plist.
    Internally, the Colour Picker is a client of ColorSync and the swatches, if memory serves, are represented as ICC NMCL Named Colour profiles.

  • Meaning of small gray triangle in Colors window

    This may be a general OS X question but I have been unable to find the answer in the discussion areas or in the manuals. In the "colors" window I often see a small gray triangle in the upper right hand corner of the main color window and in the small squares at the bottom. I assume that is a signal of something but am unable to determine what it means. Anyone?

    It indicates a "saved" color. When you first select a color, you will have the triangle tab in the upper right hand corner of the swatch. While it is there, you can drag the swatch into the "saved colors" bar in the color picker, right beneath the opacity control. Next time you want this particular color, you have only to click on the small color thumbnail in the bar. A saved color thumbnail will retain the right corner triangle, reminding you that you saved that particular color for some reason.
    If you have a color in the swatch area that you want to save but the "save" tab isn't present, click on the magnifying glass to the left of the swatch, drag the glass over the swatch and click on it. (Or any color, anywhere) The save tab will appear in the swatch, giving you the option to save the color to the bar.

  • "Gamma" slider in Preview's "Adjust Color" window now absent in 10.6. Why?

    In Preview, if one chooses "Adjust Color" from the "Tools" menu, a small window pops up with various sliders allowing one to make minor adjustments to the jpeg -- contrast, sharpness, exposure, etc.
    In previous versions of Preview that came with 10.4 etc., one of the sliders was called "Gamma," and I found it very useful. I'm no photographer nor a professional graphics person, so I couldn't even tell you the exact definition of what a "gamma adjustment" even is, but in my experience I found that it seemed to lighten the dark areas of the image without overly lightening the already-light areas. By fiddling with a combination of the "Contrast" slider and the "Gamma" slider, one could rescue a photo that was badly lit or unevenly exposed.
    But in the new version of Preview that comes with my Snow Leopard 10.6.4, the "Gamma" slider has been removed entirely, replaced by the far-less-useful "Temperature" slider, which instead subtly adjusts the tint to appear warmer or colder (red/blue).
    What happened to the "Gamma" adjuster? Is there any way to restore it, or customize the "Adjust Color" window?
    What a bummer.
    I really like Preview's "Adjust Color" sliders, and find them to be much more convenient for basic photo sprucing up than the more complicated controls in PhotoShop and other pro-level programs. I realize I can adjust the Gamma in these fancier programs, but I'd much rather have all the needed adjustment-controls altogether in the same program.
    Any suggestions? I don't want to have to try to re-install an ancient version of Preview just for this one feature.

    I did a Google search & found - http://earthlingsoft.net/ssp/blog/2009/08/macos_x6part2
    "*Gamma: Apple (finally) changed the gamma value of their display calibration.* There goes the classic Mac look… well it’s not quite as (a) my MacBook’s screen is a crappy dithering **** anyway so I am in no position to notice anything and, more significant in a global sense, (b) the magic of colour management means that you shouldn’t see the difference caused by the gamma change on colour managed images. What remains are the UI elements and Apple seems to have done a reasonable job of making things look all right. Just some of my old icons seem to look a bit different now. In the long run I imagine this change may be beneficial for people who publish images on the web without knowing what they do. "

  • Where can I find out more about the little color window that pops up?

    Where can I find out about that color window that pops up when you want to change colors.
    One of my questions is about the saved color squares at the bottom of the little color window. How do you delete those and where are they stored?
    Thanks

    It's the OS X color picker, and it's available in just about all FCS applications - nice because you can store colors once and they are there for all apps. You can't delete a color - just drag white onto it to get rid of it. Oh, and have you dragged down to reveal the large drawer for storing a boatload of colors?

  • Is there a way to open two color windows? I want to use both HSB and RGB sliders and have them side by side. If there isn't a way, how would I go about creating my own script for it?

    Here's an example of what I mean:
    http://i.imgur.com/Q5aiHvE.png
    I would have access to both RGB and HSB at the same time instead of constantly switching back and forth. Any input on this matter would greatly help thank you!

    Photoshop only has one Color Palette.  If you could script something  like a Color Palette with  two sets of active sliders the script would be in control till you dismissed its sliders dialog.  You would not be able to do anything but adjust the script's sliders in Photoshop while the script dialog window is being displayed.  Photoshop Scripting does not have real palette dialog type support.
    I do not know what is possible with Photoshop extensions using HTML 5 Panels.....

    Works here. Quit Preview, move all of the com.apple.Preview preference (plist) files from your user's /Library/Preferences/ and /ByHost subfolder to the Desktop, relaunch Preview, and see if that fixes things. If so, delete the moved files and reset Preview's preferences. If not, create a new admin user account, log into it, and see if it works there. Report back.

  • Swatches in colors window

    iWeb Help gives you this tip ...
    Tip: Save swatches of colors you want to reuse by dragging them from the color bar at the top of window to the palette at the bottom.
    This is great and allows me to make sure I'm using the same color on different pages. But ...
    How do I get rid of a color that I have dragged to the palette at the bottom? I've tried dragging it off the palette, pressing delete ... but nothing seems to work.

  • Mic Mute Hotkey doesn't work, Sound Mute Button won't change its color [Windows 10]

    Hello everyone,
    I recently did a clean install of Windows 10 x64 on my HP Probook 450 G1 (E9Y30EA), and after installing drivers I noticed when I turn off the sound, my Mute Button won't change its color to amber (or orange, yellow, whatever), as it did in Windows 8.1 and 7.Also, another thing that's not working at all is Microphone Mute Hotkey (fn + F8). It neither turns off the microphone, nor lights up its LED. I have the latest version of HP Hotkey Support driver installed (7.0.13.1), HP Quick Launch Buttons, HP Wireless Button, installed, .NET Frameworks 2.0 and 3.0 etc.. everything is up-to-date, but it's still not working as it should. Microphone muting just doesn't work at all, and pressing (sound) Mute Button does mute sound, but its light stays white, so I often don't know whether I had the sound on or off with the glance of an eye as I used to. On the other hand, HP Wireless Button works normally, and it changes its color to amber when I press it to turn on Airplane Mode. TL;DR: Microphone Mute Hotkey doesn't work; Sound Mute Button does work, but its LED doesn't work. Is there anything I can do to fix that, or is it just a problem with driver incompatibility that would be fixed in some of the next updates? Or is it something else, like Windows 10 issue or audio driver maybe?
    Thanks in advance, pajser92

    Hi,
    First download the sound driver using the links below and save the installer to your Desktop.
    Audio Driver - Windows 7
    Audio Driver - Windows Vista
    When the download has completed, right click the installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation - ignore any warnings you may see about this being an earlier version.  When the installation has completed, restart the notebook.

  • Color Picker (Color Window) only shows "Crayons" in Pages...

    Greetings, In Pages '09, the color picker is now only showing the "Crayon" color picker. Earlier today, it let me choose Color Wheel, RGB, CMYK, and other pickers. It does not even show any of these other options in Pages! These other pickers are still available in Keynote. I have tried deleting and reinstalling iWork, and still just have the Crayons in Pages. I have tried deleting "com.apple.iWork09.plist" and I still just have the Crayons, with no option to choose any other color picker. Am I doing something wrong? Where are the other pickers? How do I get them back?
    Thanks in advance,

    This is kind of hard to describe and I wish I could show you a screen shot but my colors do not look like the default colors when I first installed CS4.
    So for my lack of ability to explain my problem very well, how do I reset CS4 to show me the original color pallet?
