Colored region 2-axis

In NI-DIADEM, how can I plot the colored region in graph (report)? Example, I have 2-axis graph, where time in the x-axis for 24 hours and channel-1 data on Y-axis (5-90) units. Now I want to color region under some specific value, say 55. I want to show with different color for area under the curve (less than 55); how can I show?
Thanks

Hi mirror82,
Would you please post a picture of what you wish to achieve? DIAdem has a variety of coloring options that might apply, but I don't yet understand what you want.

• Mapviewer not rendering color regions properly after obiee upgrade

Hello!
After upgrade my OBIEE installation from 11.1.1.5 to 11.1.1.6.2 all dashboads with GEO maps stop rendering properly.
The color layer fails when you move the mouse over states or country. The same dashboads map works fine on 11.1.1.5 version.
When access a dashboard with maps on OBIEE 11.1.1.6.2 using the Browser dev tools (tracking the HTTP requests) I can see some http 404 error for some images. The same not occurs on OBIEE 11.1.1.5.
I'm using the same database schema, the same mapviewer config file, etc.
How can I deal with this issue?

• Axis Legend Background Color Change?

Is it possible to change the background color for the axis legend text? Numbers displays the chart (in this case a line chart) on the spreadsheet with the x and y legend values on a transparent background. The transparency makes the values very difficult to see, and I'm hoping there's some way to change the background or fill of the legend area to plain old white. Or even better, just change the background of the entire chart to white. Darned if I can figure out how to do such a simple thing, though.
TIA,
Scot

My workaround:
insert a rectangular rectangle whose stroke and background are white and put it behind the chart

• Y Axis label color inherits Pen color and not the default Label color.

Hi,
How do I enforce my Y Axis Label to taken the default color specified in the iChart Y-Axis Label Color property instead of picking it from the Pen color selected from the legend? I have a Y-Axis Label called "Total Stock", I can very well change the Label text using method
document.TestChart.getChartObject().setYAxisLabel("Label from code");
But when I use a similar
document.TestChart.getChartObject().setYAxisLabelColor(Color);
property, I dont see the color change on the screen. But when I get the color using a getYAxisLabelColor() method , the specified input Color is set. My Label in the Y-Axis, always inherits the Pen color of the selected Legend Item, by default the first Item color on Page Load.
Settings done in the iChart:
Use Selected Pen for label : Unchecked
Y Axis Label Color: #000000
Y Axis Label : Total Stock
Show Y Axis Label: Checked.
I appreciate your help,
Ajitha

Jeremy,
I tried the method you mentioned...
document.TestChart.getChartObject().setYAxisLabelColor(document.TestChart.createColor("#000000"));
But I still dont see a change in the Label color.
Another finding is, when I try to alert the Label color on load of the page or during the creation of the applet, I see the label color on the alert is not the pen1color but the default Label color that is set in the display template. I assume that the legend's default selection, overwrites the Label color with the first pen color, but I could not get it with the getYAxisLabelColor() method, even though I see it on the screen.
Thanks!

• Assigning curves to axis (and setting axis color) in report

I'm creating a script that will generate a report.
As a template for this report i have a tdr file with one 2D axis system.
The channels to be displayed are stored in an global array, it can be any number of channels (hypothetically).
Now for each channel I want to:
Create a new curve.
Create a new y-axis (except for the first, cause there is already one present)
Assign the y-axis to the corresponding curve
Assign the y-axis color to be the same as the corresponding curve.
Creating several curves workes fine (and displaying them).
Creating several y-axis workes fine as well.
However, the last two operations are not as straightforward. Should the y-axis be assigned to the curve or the other way around (basicly, how is this done)?
Setting the y-axis color sounds easy enough, from the help file:
"D2AxisYLineColor: Specifies the color of the selected y-axis."
However, when i use this command it doesn't change anything. Example:
Call GraphObjOpen("2DAxis1")
Call GraphObjOpen(D2AxisYObj(1))
D2AxisYTxtColor ="red"
D2AxisYLineColor = "red"
Call GraphObjClose(D2AxisYObj(1))
Call GraphObjClose("2DAxis1")
This code WILL change the label text color (as expected), the line color (which i believe is supposed to be the color of the axis itself) remains unchanged. What am i missing here?

Hi Salte
You missed only one line
Call GraphObjOpen("2DAxis1")
D2AXISINDIVIDCOL = 1
Call GraphObjOpen(D2AxisYObj(1))
D2AxisYTxtColor ="red"
D2AxisYLineColor = "blue"
Call GraphObjClose(D2AxisYObj(1))
Call GraphObjClose("2DAxis1")
Press CTRL-A when you open the definition dialog to get all parameters.
Hope this helps

• Change color of measures - Column Combination Dual Axis

Hi,
I have a couple of graphs of the type Column Combination Dual Axis.
I want to change the colors for these measures but that does not seem to be possible when using this type of chart?
I can only change the color of the Axis?
First, I thought it was something wrong with my chart so I tried to create a new application with this chart type and got the same result.
Does anyone know if it should be like this?
Br
Max

Hi Max,
how many measures do you want to use for the Chart type "Column Combination Dual Axis"?
Do you have tried to swap the axis in your chart type setting?
In my case it works as expected and I´m able to change the color of the measures ( = the axis)
I think it´s important to add the measures in the rows at the initial view of the data source (or you can change it by swap the axis in the chart).
Hope it helps!
Best regards,
Michael

• How to change content of audio region

Dear Logic Pro Discussion
Is there any way you can swap the audio file in a region with that of another one but keeping the audio start position, for example if you had two or three takes that you wanted to choose from but keeping the audio on the same track. ~I know i Pro Tools LE you can open up a little drop down menu and swap the file easily.
Anyone know how to do this
Thanks
Jonny

There isn't a practical way to do what you're wanting, at least that I'm aware of.
Have you tried doing this? I think you'll find that it's a great way to record multiple takes. And, I find it much more intuitive than PT's playlists.
For starters, if you have recorded 4 tracks of a lead vocal, you can then easily color code the phrases, or even words, that you want to use in a comped track. This is all visible in front of you. And you can, for instance, mute all the various sections of the vocal, except those that you have color coded as good, to quickly see how the comp will sound.
When finished, you can grab all the same colored regions, and use the "Move selected Regions to Track" command, and all the regions that you have selected as "keepers" will jump to the newly created and selected track.
You can than make use of the track hide feature, to tuck away all the duplicate track instances. They'll all be out of sight, yet you can get them back instantly should you decide to try different takes as options later.
Definitely spend some time checking this out. It's one of the often overlooked features of Logic. It sounds to me like you have "But PT does it like this- itis".
Give this a go... I think you'll see what I mean.

• Colors in Safari and IE

Hello. I'm not very good at web design. I have a problem when
viewing my site on different browsers. The pink background i'm
using in dreamweaver was replicated in photoshop images i made for
the site, by typing in its colour code. however, when i view these
images on my site in safari, the pinks dont quite match, making it
obvious where my images end and where my web page background meet.
Internet explorer has no problems though.
any help on what i should do ?

Or if you are trying to match a jpg image with an HTML color
region....

• I'm trying to create a random color generator

//               create random color generator
String[]colors = {"RED", "ORANGE", "YELLOW", "GREEN", "BLUE", "INDIGO", "PURPLE"};
// create variable to store random color
int mycolorint = (int)(Math.random()*7);
String mycolor = colors[mycolorint];
//               label axis
StdDraw.setPenColor(StdDraw.(mycolor));
what is wrong with this code?

StdDraw.setPenColor(StdDraw.(mycolor));This line really doesn't make any sense. If you think about it you haven't seen any java code which includes something like "foo.(bar)" or "Foo.(bar)". The compiler wants to see identifiers either side of the dot - and identifiers don't start with a (.
I am guessing that if "RED" gets chosen from the array, then you want the label axis to useStdDraw.setPenColor(StdDraw.RED);In that case you have to set the array up a little differently.
// create random color generator
???[]colors = {
StdDraw.RED, StdDraw.ORANGE, StdDraw.YELLOW,
StdDraw.GREEN, StdDraw.BLUE, StdDraw.INDIGO, StdDraw.PURPLE
// create variable to store random color
int mycolorint = (int)(Math.random() * 7);
??? mycolor = colors[mycolorint];
// label axis
StdDraw.setPenColor(mycolor);You will have to read the documentation for this StdDraw class to see what type StdDraw.RED etc are.

• Dial chart dynamic color range

Hi
I am trying to dynamically change range of the scalebar color.
I see that I can give Apex a low and high value exactly for this reason.
Invalid Dial chart query, use the following syntax:
SELECT VALUE, MAX [, LOW, HIGH] VALUE FROM ...
VALUE Numeric column that defines dial value.
MAX Numeric column that defines Maximum dial value.
LOW (optional) Numeric column that defines the low value of a range to display on the dial. If this value is defined, a HIGH value is required.
HIGH (optional) Numeric column that defines the high value of a range to display on the dial. If this value is defined, a LOW value is required.
This query should return one row.I would hope for Apex to use those value in the #SCALE_DATA# in the Chart XML.
<axis start_angle="90" sweep_angle="180" >
#SCALE_DATA#
<labels enabled="true" align="Inside" text_align="Near" rotation="0" >
<format>{%Value}{numDecimals:0,decimalSeparator:\,,thousandsSeparator: }%</format>

</labels>
</axis>But it does not seems to work.
I only need to add those lines
<scale_bar enabled="false" />
<color_ranges>
<color_range start="0" end="25" color="Red" />
<color_range start="25" end="90" color="Green" />
<color_range start="90" end="100" color="Red" />
</color_ranges>25 being the #LOW# value and 90 the #HIGH# value.
I do not want to use custom XML everywhere.
ANy iadea if I can modify the default XML or modify the behavior of the #SCALE_DATA# ?
Thanks a lot
Sebastien

Hello,
What do you mean by maximum value?
The 10 in the query is to figure out values other than the dial itself there is not a graphical component that represents that number.
The high line usually is used historical maximum value. Do you want to change the color of the dial when it hits 10?

• Portfolio (Bubble) Chart Capability

Greetings,
I am trying to create a bubble chart using WAD 3.5, the Portfolio chart type seems to be the most appropriate, but I can not figure out how to get the chart to show the metrics per my specification.
X-Axis - Change in Days
Y-Axis - Change in Value
Z-Axis (Size) - Total Value
Bubble Color - Region
Individual Bubble - Opportunity
The results should be a bubble chart with 4 different series, each series containing a datapoint representing an opportunity.
The bubbles are sized based on the total value of the opportunity and are positioned in the chart based on the shift in days (x axis) and value (y axis) from a previous time period.
The data is not a problem, I have a query with all the relevant characteristics and key figures. The issue is getting the chart to properly chart these items. The closest I can get is with:
Row Fields: Region
Column Fields: Opportunity, Key Figure Structure
When I do this, I do get one 'series' for each region, but all the bubbles for each series get placed at the X-Axis value for the first opportunity. Other attempts have resulted in creation of a series for each opportunity.
Thanks.

The frustrating part of this - is that the "Chart Wizard" view in Web App Designer shows exactly this scenario when previewing the Portfolio chart design - a few color-coded series, each containing multiple datapoints, with varying bubble sizes places on the chart based on key figures on the X and Y axes. I can not figure out how to get any query to replicate this.

• No legend title on graph.

In Anserws I added graph view. All is ok, but legend text is empty.
In mesures area (Vertical Axis ) there are two bars:
1. totals for products
2. totals for regions
Horizontal axis is date
When editing graph view, on sample area there are legend text like this:
sample
| -- totals for products
|________ -- totals for regions
but when I open analyse there is no text 'totals for products' and 'totals for regions' for legend markers
In graph properties on tab 'Title and legend' for Labels for Legend I choose Font:family=Arial Narrow, color=#000080, style=regular, size 20

• Using real instruments on Powerbook G4

Hi,
I've been using garageband on my ibook for over a year now and thought that I would try using it on my sister's PowerBook G4. The program works fine with software instruments, but when I plug my gutiar into it and try to use other real instruments with it it does not record a thing. This is weired because the program fully registers that a real instrument is plugged in and looks as if its recording while I'm playing what I'm playing on it. So, why is this? Is there any way I can fix this problem? How would I do it?

I think I understand what you are doing and what the problem might be:
"Then I open garageband and start a new file. Then I change the instrument setting from software instruments to real instruments."
When GB opens it has a software piano track that it displays by default. You create a new track. The screen comes up and you set it up as a Real Instrument Track. When you create a new track it will be enabled for recording and a little red button will light up showing that that track is enabled for recording, as long as that track is selected.
"Then I delete the software track and begin to try and record a new basic track."
When you select the software instrument track to delete it, you are deselecting the track you just created and GB turns off the track-enabling button on that real instrument track. Try not deleting that default software piano track and see if that helps. It certainly doesn't hurt to leave it there.
"Then I push the record button and start to play. As I'm playing I'll see the line moving and the color changing purple or red or whatever color it turns, I don't remember which indicating that I'm recording something."
That is the part I don't understand, because it shouldn't be creating any sort of colored region, but the line does move. That's my best guess, anyway.

• How do I install a custom texture in Illustrator (or embed it in my file?)

I created a custom texture for my Illustrator files called "CanvasDP", but when I open the files Illustrator changes this custom file to "Canvas." I suspect this is because my CanvasDP.psd is in a new location (I moved all my files to Dropbox). Is there some way to permanently add my CanvasDP file to an Illustrator library (so it would automatically show up in the texture dropdown)? Or can I embed the CanvasDP file in the Illustrator file so the file always has direct access to it?
I have my custom texture applied to dozens of objects on dozens of layers ... in dozens of files! Going through and reapplying the texture by hand is totally impractical. There has to be a workaround.

I tried what you said, but I'm still getting the same strange result. When I apply the Swatch pattern to an object, it creates these strange off color regions that don't move. When I move the object shown in the screenshots below down, the off color regions remain in the same place on the screen. Very strange.
Btw - thank you so much for helping me with this!

• 11.1.1.5 - Measure labels are appearing in legend (line graph)

I've created a line graph in 11.1.1.5. My legend is showing a combination of the column value and the measure name (e.g. Web Sales, Direct Sales, Retail Sales). I want my legend to simply say Web, Direct, and Retail, without the appended 'Sales' measure label.
The Measure Labels tile is currently residing in the Vary Color By (Horizontal Axis) zone, along with the legend column, so I guess it makes sense that the legend column and the measure labels would both show up in the legend (although I don't think that was the case in 11.1.1.3). However, there doesn't appear to be any place into which I can relocate the Measure Labels tile so that the word Sales DOESN'T appear on the line graph. If I move the Measures Labels tile into Graph Prompts, Sections, or Group By (Horizontal Axis), the word Sales appears in those locations. If I attempt to move that tile into the Lines (Vertical Axis) box, or into the Excluded box, it won't allow being dropped there.
Switching between line, bar, and area graphs reveals the same problem in all graph types.
Is there any way to supress the display of measure labels on graphs in 11.1.1.5?

Hi Paul,
This is the feature in 11g obiee displaying the Measue heading and dimension value... like u said right Web Sales...and so on.
Here in u case web is the value of dimension and Sales is heading of a measure.
One way is if u are not using any dimension apart from 1 dim and fact u can put measure labels in the group by axis and dimension column in the show in legend section then it will give u only web.
But if u have 2 dimension then we have to put this measure labels with either one of the dimensions in this case heading of the measure wil display.
Thanks
