Colors keep a changin'?

Dearest Kuler,
Just wondering why when you make changes to the numeric text
entry fields withing kuler other colors values change. It is a
little annoying when trying to establish a color scheme with strict
RGB or CMYK values.
Kuler is a great application. Kudos.

Hi, the issue with the custom rule not allowing you to tweak
colors, and the color shifting rule are addressed in this topic:

My Trackpad speed and Highlight Color keep reseting to their defaults after EACH restart. I'm running OS 10.8.2. I had other problems with a previous admin account, so I created a new one, in which I'm having this problem, and deleted the old user acnt.

Calendar colors keeping changing to purple

one specific calendar keeps changing by itself to purple. even when i change it back to the color i want, it goes directly back to purple. this happens on my ipad and when accessing icloud on my mac book

It seems that my green work calendar is now purple as well.
In the past work was a light green and personal was a slightly different shade of green. Now it is purple, not my favorite color but it is distinct. It would be nice to pick you own colors
I am an ical user, rarely do I sign in using icloud via the net however this is how all my devices are linked
This happened a while back and then reverted, if Apple would just have some notices of this at least we would know there is nothing wrong. I am getting concerned that my data is not safe !

Photoshop CS6 - Color keeps changing

I have Photoshop CS6 for Windows 7.
Whenever I put the main color in and then switch it out for another color, the main color that's been used before keeps changing into a darker color instead of the same color tone it was taken from. I don't know if there's a problem with the RGB Color, or something else I need to check. Is there something that can fix this?

Okay then. I mean when I use the Eyedropper Tool on the color that I had already put on a picture, the color becomes darker than what is shown when I use the Brush tool.
Like when I put light red as the foreground color, then switch it out for another color, then used the Eyedropper tool to copy the light red color to use it again, the light red color instead becomes a slight darker red when I use the brush or other related tools I use to color in my picture.
Hope this detail is clear enough.

Calendar colors keep changing

I haven't seen a question about this posted since iOS 5 came out (and most seem to come from the last decade).
I'm running iOS 5 on my iPhone 4 and my iPad 2. I use both iCloud calendars and I subscribe to a number of Google calendars, as well. This problem only manifests itself with the subscribed calendars. I'm glad that you can finally customize the color of a subscribed calendar, but your choices don't stick. I want my work calendar to be red, my travel calendar to be blue, my personal calendar to be green, and a fourth orange. I have set these by clicking on the Calendars tab at the top to show the list of calendars, then tapping Edit, and then setting the colors.
I don't know when it does this, but it will always change the colors to something else. And it's not consistent between the iPhone and iPad. So, for example, the work calendar, which I had set as red, is now purple on my iPad. It's green on my iPhone. I realize the color might not sync between devices, but if I set it as red on both, why is it changing them to something else?
Only thing I can tell is perhaps it happened when the iPad's screen shut off, or maybe when it synced.
Is this a known issue? Is there a workaround?

I've got what i think is a pretty good fix to this.
subscribing to calandars via iCal on your Mac is the way to go. you can subscribe, set the colour and tell it to push via iCloud to your iOS devices. they come through with the correct colour and stay that way.
all good
however, i can't seem to delete the subscribed calandars i have on my iPhone. every time i delete the subscription, they just come back in again! quite annoying, but at least you can untick it so that it doesn't show up. which it would go away for good though.
much happier now i'm controlling everything through iCal and iCloud

CMYK settings for font color keep changing in Word

I am trying to match a particular color of blue in Word.
I set the CYMK percentages using the either the sliders or %age boxes in Word, hit OK and then when I open the color setting box, the numbers have changed.
Anyone got an idea of what I'm doing that could be wrong - am using PMS CYMK numbers - C 100 - Y 75 - M 0 - K 0 - in theory it should work but it's not.

The only thing I think is wrong is Word.

Custom Colors Keep defaulting

Hi,
I am having a problem choosing a custom color for my calendars. This is only happening on one user. It works fine if I log on as another user. I've tried deleting the plist file,etc.
Here is an example of what is happening:
I create a new calendar, and I want it to be a bright green. I create the color in the spectrum and drag it to the little boxes below. I can see the color change in the info box, then as soon as I click off the spectrum or the crayons ... it defaults back to an olive green color. It's bizarre because any other user on my computer works fine.

I figured it out! I had to re-calibrate my color display in system preferences. Not only does iCal look better, so does everything else on my screen!
I hope this helps anyone else who may have had the same problem.

PDF Colors Keep Changing

I have a project I have done in InDesign that needs to be sent to the printer. It has no errors and the colors are in CMYK. I have exported it as a PDF to Adobe Acrobat, and when I open it on my computer the colors are fine, but when I email the PDF or save it to a disk the colors are different. I have tried everything that I know of and can't seem to get it fixed. PLEASE HELP!!!

You say the colours are differerent. Do you mean on the same computer or a different computer?
What software are you viewing it in - is it the same, is one in a browser...?

IPhone Calendar keep resyncing, and the color keeps changing too.

I have my iPhone syncing with our corporate exchange server. Everything was working well. I updated my phone to iOS 4 and a few weeks later I started to see issues.
The calendar items are blue. They they all disappear. I see it re-syncing. Not everything shows up... The ones that do show up, are now red.
The next time the red goes away, a re-sync happens, and now the calendar is purple.
And so on through the rainbow...
I seems that I keeps re-syncing and doesn't get everything when it does.
Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I've had the same problem with a new iPhone 4 (the problem didn't manifest with my old phone upgraded to IOS4). Mail and Contacts are fine, but Calendar kept losing synchronization with the Exchange server.
Set up the Exchange account and everything seemed fine. A day later most, but not all, of my exchange appointments were nowhere to be found. Deleted and recreated the Exchange account, calendar back ... but a day later poof all sorts of missing entries. Same symptoms in list view the original poster sees.
This morning I changed the calendar Sync options from 1 month to 'All Events' and suddenly everything is good again with Calendar. (Initially, I saw the events in list view, but not in day or month view. Restarted the Calendar app and things are now fine in all 3 views)
I have a lot of recurring appointments with exceptions. Several standing conference calls have original creation dates well over 6 months ago. The program manager sends status reports as an update to the calendar item, so almost every past appointment is in the system as an exception to the recurring event. The funny thing, though, was that I was seeing some of the recurring appointments, but not any of the individual items.
Don't know for certain, but if I was a betting man I would bet the problem lies with the way IOS4 handles recurrence and exceptions.
I also don't know if this "fix" will hold up. The last couple of times I got Calendar in sync, it went out of whack within 24 hours. I'll update in a day or so if things hold up.

Color keeps distorting no matter what tool I use

All of a sudden my photoshop CS5 started distorting any and all pictures. I cannot use the brushes or the eraser, I cannot use the paintbucket tool or anything. The colored squares (number 1) here are when I used the paintbucket tool on white on a new layer. This is what happened when I pressed the "step backwards" button in the edit tab (see number 3). The white squares (number 2) I used the eraser on the photo. I am in RGB color mode & 8 bits channel. This is what happens when I move to 16 bits channel (see number 4). Basically, anything I do will mess up the color and it's different every time. I have no idea why.

See if resetting prefs helps:
Windows - CTRL-SHIFT-ALT immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
Macintosh - CMD-SHIFT-OPTION immediately after you double-click the PS icon.
"Yes" when asked if you want to delete Photoshop settings file.

IPhone Calendar colors keep changing

When I first began using my IPhone 3G, the calendar entries all synced as blue. Fine. About a week ago, they all synced as red. Strange that the color changed, but also fine. Yesterday, they synced as yellow. Not fine. I have a very hard time reading entries because the white lettering barely shows within the entries. Is there a way to go back to one of the other colors or at least to a more legible color? Thanks.

dwbsf. If you go into your "mail, contacts, calendars" settings, then into your Exchange account you can turn the Calendar syncing on or off. If you turn it off, then back on, your calendar colors should return to the basic default color sequence, which hopefully will be colors that are more appealing (Red, Orange, Blue, etc.

It will not accept the new colors keeps giving an message to see HP.

Had to put all new colors in and still will not operate shuts it down tells me I have missing colors so it is not reading the colors.

Color keeps crashing

Hello all, new to Color. Am trying to grade my first doco and am realising it's not as easy as it sound.
Am trying to send my 43 min doco to Color from FCP. But Color crashes as soon as stuff loads.
From a quick look around the web I note Color is a bit temperamental. Could someone give me some tips on how I need to prep my FCP sequence before sending to Color. I have stills, time remaps, zooms, transitions.... all the normal things you would find in a doco.
I have a MacBookPro 2.4Ghz, Intel Core 2 Duo, 2GB memory.

Yes, and all completely acceptable on a FCP timeline, but COLOR is, while a part of the FCS suite, not actually FCP itself, and is incapable of most of what Final Cut does....
A review of the Release Notes dating from the introduction of COLOR would be in your best interests.
You didn't appear to come up with it, so here's the URL:

The simplest, albeit labour-intensive but effective approach to prepping a timeline for export to COLOR is to eliminate anything that isn't an independent Quicktime mov. If you have stacked a skyscraper of filters and motion effects, all bets are off. Geometry, speed remaps, Motion/Livetype files, imbedded sequences, multiclips, graphics (except straight text generators) ... all will cause problems of differing severity ranging from annoying to fatal. That's for starters. We haven't gotten around to the unsupported codecs or common path/media catalogue errors yet.
You may find it more profitable to stay in the FCP 3-way corrector, or invest in some kind of Colorista-type plug in.
For something you have invested a lot of time in, obviously. If you love it that much, you might not end up all that fond of it after a first-time startup disaster. This application, COLOR, does not lend itself to one-click solutions, and has a learning curve that makes it a very poor candidate for novices or low-timers with deadlines. What's the joke... if at first you don't succeed, parachute jumping is not for you.

Isight videos keeps changing color tone and temperature

When I try to record a movie with isight, the color temperature keeps changing and flashes from a warmer color to a cooler color. It never stays in one tone. Help!

(0) The first thing to use on any iSight problem is http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090
For system wide problems, the reset suggested there often restores proper iSight functioning.
If the problem is only with the _one app_ that you are now using to record video, reinstalling that app may help.
However, if your iSight's color keeps changing in all Apple apps and in all user accounts you test, you may have a system software issue. You can test whether software will correct your problem by trying the following:
(1) First, use Disk Utility to repair permissions. Then download and apply the COMBO update for the Mac OS version that you use. You do not show which OS X version you use, but you can find it in the list returned by this search:

Repair permissions again IMMEDIATELY after the restart that finishes the installation.
Then test iSight again. (Repeat iSight Troubleshooting suggestions if necessary.)
(2) If properly applying the Combo Update does not resolve your problem, you may have problems within the basic OS X software.
To test that, reinstall your OS X, update to the latest OS X version you use by using the process in (1) above, and then check again for proper iSight function.
(3) If you need to post back for more suggestions, it will be helpful if you also post the following:
• OS X version (you may want to add this to your Profile in "My Settings" when logged in)
• Which app and version you originally posted about
• Whether your problem is EXACTLY the same in every app and user account you tested
• Which of the suggestions already offered you have used
• Anything new you learned while trying the suggestions above.
(4) We will watch for your status update and offer specific suggestions based on the details in your reply.
