  • How to synchronize colors with two different video cameras

    I own Sony FX1 and HC9 video cameras. The color between the two video cameras can be pretty noticeable, and I tend to flip between the two cameras a lot during editing. Ideally I would get them to match up better before I start filming, but despite my attempts, I still can see a noticeable difference between them in post-production. I know I can use the color corrector filter to adjust the colors, but is there a more effective way to adjust the colors of the two video so they match better? I have used that eyedropper on the "visual" screen of the color corrector to adjust the white balance. Is there something similar where I could for example click the eyedropper on the blue of one video and it would change the blue of the video from the second camera to match?

    You don't really have the controls for that in FCE. You can't fine tune the color with real precision for color matching in FCE. There is a match hue function with the eyedropper, but without separate shadows, mids, and highlight color controls there is only so much you can do.

  • HP Color Laserjet 1600 cannot print in color with Pages 09

    Hi, everybody!
    I got a huge problem for me that the HP Color Laserjet 1600 cannot print in color with Pages 09 after I upgrade to 10.6.1. It worked very well in 10.5.8. Since there is no official driver from HP website for 1600, so I used foomatic/foo2hp as the driver.
    It is very strange that I can print in color with Safari and Preview in 10.6.1, but cannot with Pages 09. When I print with Pages 09, it always shows that the print job was completed but my printer was nothing happened.
    I just re-install the 10.6 OS "complete new", install the printer driver with the instructions on this forum.
    It would be high appreciated if somebody can help me on it!

    Why doesn't MAC just give us the driver for the HP Color Laserjet 1600? It's one of the most popular home based business laserjets. It's the one I use and a lot of other people in business use it so I'm at a loss as to why they don't.
    I bought my MAC Pro tower for video editing and I can't print from it and have had to reinstall the OS on it once already because Safari wouldn't open a window. So much for the MAc advertising statement of "We're so much easier to use."
    After spending close to $10,000 on MAC equipment, Tower, Laptop, Monitor, etc. if they think I'm going to spend more for a new printer just because I can't get a driver to print they're thinking wrong. I going to re-think my new cell phone purchase too. Has anyone had software issuses with their phones before I go out and buy one?

  • Unable to change/reset colors with open document in Photoshop CC 2014

    I have the 2014.2.2 release of Photoshop CC 2014 and am suddenly unable to change or reset colors with an open document. I get a "Could not complete your request because of a program error" message. After closing the document (or before opening one) I can change colors okay. But not with a document open.

    OK, then resetting Photoshop's preferences is the next thing to try. But first, save a copy of the existing preferences - we may need them to figure out what is going wrong.

  • Black and white selective coloring with brushes disappeared

    The down and dirty:
    Upgraded to Aperture 3.1.1
    Aperture then updated my library
    I open a file that I have selectively colored with black and white (a track and field runner and her lane is color, the field is black and white) and to my horror the thumbnail and "quick preview" is correctly colored, but the full resolution image is not
    How do I get my hard work back?

    I'd like to add one last bit that seems strange to me (and gives me hope that I can recover my edits). When I switch "quick preview" from on to off and the image zooms to the native resolution my edits are in tact for half a second before going away (the image fully loads - I'm not looking at an expanded rendering of the quick preview).
    Also, when I move the image at full zoom my B&W edits flash briefly until I stop moving the image.
    I tried repair permissions and repair database. Both failed.

  • Illustrator CS2 - How do I replace a color with another color?

    Most of the image uses a gray color. I'd like everything colored with grey, to be black. How do I replace gray color w/ black?

    One way would be to select one object of the gray color, then choose, Select > Same Fill Color. This will select everything of that color. Click the black swatch to change them all at once.

    Are you aware that, without a background-repeat: no-repeat
    rule in the CSS
    rule for the body tag, your background image will tile and
    fill the screen
    so your black background color won't be visible?

  • Change Browser Background Color with Image Fill

    I inserted a picture using 'Image Fill' and 'Original Size' under Browser Background in the Page Layout tab and the browser background, I assume, defaults to white.
    I need the browser background to be a standard black color with an Image Fill. I searched around the iWeb preferences and tabs but found no option...
    Many thanks in advance!
    Alex

    The only way to get a black browser background is to set it to black. If you tile the photo there will be not browser background or make the image large enough so that it would take a very large browser window to exceed the photo's size. Or create a very large canvas with the photo in it at its original size and the rest of the area black.

  • How to compensate Cyan color with other colors with using profile

    Hi Guys,
    I am using Adobe Illustrator CS3. Mac OS 10.4.11. I need a help regarding color compensate. let me explain clearly. I am doing a project in that i need to delete Cyan color and need to compensate with MYK colors. Is there any short way to get with good result.
    FYI: we have UCR (Under Color Remover) profile which is for Black. With using this profile we can compensate black color with CMY with good result. Like this way only I want Cyan color compensate.
    Is there any profile or method for that. If there, please share with me....
    HARI

    I am doing a project in that i need to delete Cyan color and need to compensate with MYK colors. Is there any short way to get with good result.
    You are getting rid of the C channel completely and trying to create the same color balance usign the M,Y and K plates? Quite simply - impossible unless your images have a narrow color spectrum. The K to some extent can be used to replace a lot of the density normally associated with the C. But there is a large part of the color wheel that you cannot produce with no C at all.
    with actions and scripting it is not possible. because all the images are different, we need to work according to image.
    This is not true. Actions are probably more powerful than you are aware and can be designed to bring up dialogs to allow you to tailor each image to your needs.

  • How can I replace a color with a pattern fill?

    Hi everyone, thanks for any responses in advance!
    I've created quite a detailed design that works with 4 pixels per cm and 16 colors, canvas size 120x170cm. I'm wanting to replace all of a single color with a pattern, is there a way to do this?
    I can replace a color with another flat color by using adjustments etc... but I want to fill the entire of one color area with a pattern instead. The only way I can think to do this would be to use the magic wand tool to select every pixel of the same color, then create a new layer and overlay with a fill of the desired pattern, however as the design is so detailed it would take me an awful long time to select each color!
    Can anyone suggest a quicker more efficiant way to do this?
    Thanks!

  • Why do you need to shift click to select stroke color with eyedropper tool?

    Hi,
    Quick question..
    Why do you need to shift click to select the stroke color with the eyedropper tool?
    I had the problem where I could not do this earlier and found the solution on this forum.
    However I still do not understand the reason for this.
    Appreciate if anyone could explain it to me.
    Thanks in advance.
    Nori

    Hi, Nori,
    If you have the red and blue rectangle selected and the Fill square selected in the tool panel, as at bottom left, then hold the shift key down and click with the eyedropper on the green stroke in the upper rectangle, then the red fill will turn green but the stroke stays blue. If you select Stroke, as at bottom right, then shift-click with the eyedropper on the green stroke, the blue stroke will turn green but the fill stays red. With Fill selected and shift-click on the yellow fill, the red fill turns yellow; with Stroke selected the blue stroke turns yellow. If you do not depress the shift key, the red and blue rectangle will become yellow and green.
    It's complicated to explain, but I think that if you try it step by step it will make sense to you.

  • Why do colors with identical cmyk numbers look very different?

    i thought i had this problem solved, but here it is again with a new wrinkle.  i have this gorgeous orchid bg box, cmyk 9-10-0-0 in a file with cmyk transparency blend space.   same set up in file 2.  i create a new bg box with the same numbers and it's a whole different color.  there must be some parameters mismatched.  what else should i be looking for to make sure the file setups are identical?

    Attached is an image of what the color picker looks like after I have  used the eyedropper to sample what I believed to be a swath of CMYK  color.
    It looks to me like the image you are sampling  from is an RGB image. You can check that by opening the Links panel and  clicking on the link, which will display the image's color space and  profile.
    actually, what i'm sampling--the lavendar bg on left --is color i created in ID; it's not a link.  i thought i created it in cmyk; how can you tell it's rgb?
    If you are picking up an out-of-gamut color from  an RGB image, you can't match that color with a CMYK fill. You could  make the background fill an RGB color and get a match. In that case both  the fill and the image would get separated to the same CMYK mix on  output to a CMYK device.
    which does have a CMYK transparency blend space and separations preview in output.
    You  are confusing the Transparency blend space with a document color space.  The Transparency Blend Space only comes into play if you have  transparent objects that need to flattened. It has no effect on  non-transparent objects.
    hmmm, that's not my experience.  so far as i can determine, i have no transparent objects, and yet the color on  screen changes dramatically when i switch transparency blend space from rgb to cmyk.
    why does changing from View to Separations within Separations Preview change the color of my CMYK background so dramatically?
    Your  background isn't CMYK it's RGB. When you turn on Overprint or  Separation Preview, you get a preview of how your out-of-gamut RGB  violet color will convert to CMYK.

  • Specifying Colors with a different ColorModel than sRGB

    Hi everyone,
    for a reason which I still don't understand, for sometimes I'm as foolish as hell, I want to specify a color with the HSV color model.
    In order to do this I went through the API specification and I came up with this solution, which I thought would work:
    float components[] = {0.67f, 0.6f, 0.85f};
    ColorSpace cs = new ICC_ColorSpace(ICC_Profile.getInstance(ICC_Profile.icSigHsvData));
    Color HSVColor = new Color(cs, components, 1.0f);
    but at run-time I receive the IllegalArgument Exception "Unknown color space".
    Can someone lend a hand?
    Thanks guys,
    Pierlu.

    It's strange how sometimes you understand where you were wrong only when you ask someone else for cues.
    I've rearranged my code in the following way, and now it works:
    float components[] = {0.67f, 0.6f, 0.85f};
    ColorSpace cs = new ICC_ColorSpace(ICC_Profile.getInstance(ColorSpace.CS_CIEXYZ)); //<---
    Color c = new Color(cs, components, 1.0f);
    but nonetheless it doesn't do what I want!
    I tried to specify the ColorSpace in the following way
    ColorSpace cs = new ICC_ColorSpace(ICC_Profile.getInstance(ColorSpace.TYPE_HSV));
    but I still get an error.
    So I've come to the conclusion that I only can specify colorspaces through static constants that starts with "CS_".
    But my question now is: "How can I specify a color though the HSV or the CIE_Lab or any other damned colorspace?"
    (Sorry guys but I'm getting a nerve out of this)
    Thanks again you all,
    Pierlu.
