Colour coding a report depending on one columns' data
Hi All,
I have no experience with CSS but i need to edit my report to show various rows in difrerent colours depending on the data in a single column ( STATUS ).
Does anybody have a CSS file that i could just edit the table details in to acheive this ?

The key is the row template:
<tr class="#5#"><td>#1#</td><td>#2#</td><td>#3#</td><td>#4#</td></tr>
(#5# is column 5 in your Query)
where class sets the background color:
tr.class1 td{background-color:#FFCCCC;}
tr.class2 td{background-color:#CCFFCC;}
tr.class3 td{background-color:#CCCCFF;}
The 3 classes switch, depending on the deptno:
decode(deptno, 10, 'class1', 20, 'class2', 30, 'class3') trclass
But it seems that the report source is not correct !!
trclass is defined as Column1 but refered as Column5
Correct report source would be:
select ename, job, sal, comm,
decode(deptno, 10, 'class1', 20, 'class2', 30, 'class3') trclass

Making whole row coloured red based on value in one column in BI Answers.

Would anyone know how to make a whole row red (eg) based on the value from one column within the row in
a BI Answers report in either a pivot table or a table view. I know it should be a case of setting up the
conditional formatting in the Conditional Tab on the Properties of the column, but all the columns apart from the
one with the value being determined ignore the value in another column.

I had a situation similar to this. I had NULL selected in the column when I wanted to hide the link. Please find below more explenation:-
<b>example report </b>
Interactive Report
Col1 col2 col3
1 a1 a2
2 b1 b2
- c1 c2
- d1 d2
-------------------------------------------In the above Report <b><i>col1</i></b> is a link . Upon clicking this, user should will be directed to Page XX
so, when data in col2 of report is c1 or d1[can be a different display condition, you may want to implement this with CASE or anyother SQL construct] , I selected NULL which will not show the link.
so, my point is, if the SQL you have in the INTERACTIVE REPORT is creative enough to have NULL in the column, Link is not enabled.

1) Create multiple pivot tables and then display them one under the other
2) Create multiple measure columns such as "male_amt", "female_amt", "white_amt", "asian_amt", "black_amt", etc. for all the columns you need. Then you could simple stack them in a single pivot table.
Option #2 might give you the prettiest results - but also requires a lot more maintenance (for instance, if you reclassify ethnic groups, you'd have to go through the reports to add additional metric columns).

How to get more than 4 coloured rows in a report depending on column values

I've looked through the forum and found some stuff on mutli-coloured reports and found the link to http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=11933:7:557008579481721819
But I have several problems:
This shows how to get 3 colours, but it's easy to get up to 4 by just using the "Column Templates" in a new report template.
I don't understand where to put the snippets. It says to put them in "Row Templates" , "Before Rows" and "After Rows" but my report template page doesn't have these options! I've got "Column Templates" (4 of them), "Before Each Row" and "After Each Row".
Am I looking at a link for an old version?
What I want to do is set the row colour dependant on a column called "level" which is between 1 and 5.

It's almost perfect now. My only problem is that the pagination table is, for some reason, enclosed within the results table (I've used FireFox web developer's tools and checked the souce HTML to be sure of this). So, if I have a border at table level, it appears on the row containing the pagination.
I've had to remove table borders and put right borders on the table data cells, but I can't find a way to put left borders on the table rows, so I have a pretty table with 5 levels of colour, but no borders on the left-hand side.
Ideally I'd like to avoid having the pagination stuff within the results table, but I can't see how/where to put a </table> to sort this out!

I have been successful on changing one column's colour in each cell, depending on the value by using a CellRenderer extending DefaultTableCellRenderer.I am unable to set the other 2 columns's cell's depending on the first column value's.

Interactive Report - One column based on a list of values
I have an Interactive Report that's part of a Form with Report. The form works fine, but I have a problem with the interactive report. One of the fields is based on a list of values. That is, the data in the table in the State field has numeric state codes, 1 to 51. The form part has no problem with this, as it's a select list based on a list of values LOV query, so the user selects the actual name of the state.
The interactive report, however, displays the numeric codes, which is what is actually in the table. I am looking in the column definition for some way to tell it to convert the value to the state name, but I do not see it. There is a List of Values place, but that seems to be for filtering purposes instead of for return vs. display value.

I'm not sure if what I am about to suggest will work in 3.2. However, in 4.1, I am using LOVs with IRRs without any issue.
For example, if I have an address field of state code, I have a named LOV (LOV_STATE). I go into the report attributes for this column. There, I find a section named "List of Values" In here, I pick the "column filter type" of "Use Named List of Values to Filter Exact Match". (Presumably, this will work with Static List too). When the column is displayed, I see the State name displayed.

We have issue in BI Publisher report of excel output.
In Excel output for one column few records are displaying as left alignment
and few record are displaying as right alignment.

I would like to know how can I modify one column of current and next record depending of some criteria using SQL2012?
The criteria is:
Type should always flow F->T
if current abs(amount)> next abs(amount) then groupid = 'PD'
if current abs(amount)< next abs(amount) then groupid = 'PI'
there is no case when those amounts will be equals
where current(custid) = next(custid) and current(service) = next(service) and groupid is null

More than one column retrieved in "report and form" page
HELLO!
let's see if anybody can help me with this... i'm sure it's a stupid problem but i really don't know how to solve it.
when i create a new application with APEX, i want to add a "report and form" page. i select the table where de data is, and then click on add page. then i go to the page definition for the form that just has been created but there's no option for selecting more than one column as the link column...
i mean, i want to show a report with all the columns from the table and then, by selecting one of them, the form should display that column but the problem is that the primary key of the table is formed by 6 columns and i always receive the "more than one column retrieved" message as it's trying to retrieve the information using only one column. is there any way to make the link column be composed by 6 or 7 columns??APEX can handle 2 primary key for one table (if you are using the automated fetch row and the automated process row).
In your case, you'll have to create your own "fetch process (page rendering)" and "DML process (page processing)".

I have a interactive report on an application that i have built. I have been asked whether it is possible to order by more than one column.
What i mean by this is, when i click on the column heading i can order by that column ascending or descending. Is it possible to order by more than one column?

FSG: Reporting Attributes Showing in one column for multiple segments
I am doing an FSG and and trying to run it through Program - Publish FSG Report and using the template provided but having a problem with the first coulmn of the report. The first column of the report is bunching up all the segments in one column instead of seperating it in multiple columns. For eg. 5100 Travel expense instead of in two different coumns is put together in one column. I have tried lot of things but none of them fixed it.
I would be glad to know anything that can solve or lead to a solution to this problem
ArunYes, I did. I had chose four segment descriptions there and I had something like 30-35 as the space for them. I have also checked the starting value of the column set. It looks ok. The XML BI Publisher is unable to seggregate them it seems for some reason.
