ColumnSeries fill color change fails

Hi,
I have a chart with column series that are populated dataprovider and for which the color is set in a separate CSS file.
My software allows to dynamically change the CSS (compiled as SWF) and apply the changes.
problem:
- the first time the chart is drawn, the styles are applied
- but if I change the style, without recreating a new graph, the bars disappear (but I can still see the tooltips). Then if I discard the graph and draw it again, then the style with the new color for the bars is correctly applied.
More info:
* CSS files, all with different colors, here is an example:
mx|ColumnSeries{
     fills:#5B7A40, #5B7A40;
I also tried to use the 'fill' property instead of 'fills'... same thing happen
* styleSheet toggle function:
public function toggleStyleSheet(styleSheetName:String):void {
     myStyleManager.unloadStyleDeclarations(currCSSName, false);
     currCSSName = styleSheetName;
     myStyleManager.loadStyleDeclarations(styleSheetName, true);
So is there something I should in order for the change to take effect? It works with a CircleItemRenderer for plotChart, I don't know why it should be any different for this!!
Any ideas?

<Update>
I found a work around by replacing the global object selector mx|ColumnSeries by a class selector in all the css:
.columnColor {
     fill:#5B7A40;
And it works also using the 'fills' property.
I still don't know why it doesn't work with the object selector...

  • Why do filler colors change when the orientation changes?

    Hi, I'm working with a template but don't like the colors of the fill boxes, so I have manually changed them.  I've noticed, however, at least when look at a proof that when I change the orientation of the iPad, the filler color reverts to the original.  The color change screws with the styles.  Anyone else have this problem?  Any fixes?

    Thanks for your reply.  I was fuzting with the "book" again.  It was the simplest -- and therefore easiest to modify stylistically -- template, which was supposed to work in both orientations.  I created it in landscape.  Last night I reallized that when I changed the orientation when working in iBook, if I applied the color change to the boxes [again], the color change stayed when viewed in either orientation.
    BUT I also saw that the box placement in the portrait view is "wrong."  It covers part of one of the headlines.  While I have changed the headline font manually [not via paragraph styles, which I am finding difficult to manipulate], I have not moved the text.  It is where the template placed it but simply using a different font.
    Thanks for any insight you might have.

  • Fill Color Changes When I Paste a Shape, Flash CS6

    Whenever I paste, or paste in place, a shape (this does not happen with strokes), the fill color I currently have selected will change to match the color of what I've just pasted. If I paste something with multiple colors, it randomly chooses one of those colors to switch to. I've tried running searches online for what this phenomenon is, or how to change it, but I've come up with nothing. I'm using a mac, but a friend uses Flash CS6 on her windows machine, and it does the same thing. This doesn't happen in CS4.
    Is there a workaround? Or is this an annoying new feature I just have to live with?

    I can only verify what you see and explain the behavior but I do not believe there is any way to alter that behavior. When the new object is added to the stage (via paste) Flash makes sure to select it and it's unavoidable (and desired behavior) that it would trigger the contextual (color) panels with the correct information for the current selection. This appears to be a bug in that regard.
    You can always report it in a bug submission, I think the behavior is a clear bug and it should be easy to fix. It affects CS6 which is still a current product (due to AS2.0 support mostly), and CC, so it's important. Good find!

  • Illustrator CS3 Won't Allow Text Fill Color Changes

    Hi All,
    I have a copy of Illustrator CS3 and this weekend I was working on a new logo design. For some reason, Illustrator would not accept changes to the text fill color. It was stuck on black. I am stuck after searching for solutions online and working with the Appearance panel.
    Has anyone else had this happen? Is there a fix?
    Thanks,
    Ansel

    Try changing the fill using the Appearance panel. With the Appearance panel you can stack fills and strokes, which often results in the text fill (available when text is highlighted) hidden behind a higher object.level fill.
    Tet filled while highlighted…
    Fill added using the Appearance panel. Note the fill is above the Characters line…
    Text selected, showing the Character level fill is still blue…

  • Global fill color change

    Is there a way to have the color change in a field for all fields on a form on entry and exit without having to code a hundred fields individually.
    Example:
    On enter: this.fillColor = "164,222,171";
    On exit: this.fillColor = "250,250,250";
    I want all the fields on the form to do this, but with over 50 fields it seems very time consuming.
    Thanks.

    I want to choose a different fill color and that shows all fillable fields, not the one you are currently in.
    Thanks.

  • Can I change the fill color of an entire row based on what's selected in a pop-up menu in the first cell?

    I have a pop-up menu in the first cell of every row with three choices (and I may add more at a later date).  I want the fill color of the row to change depending on which thing is selected.  Is this hard to do?

    Hi,
    In essence the same as Wayne's answer, but with a slight modification to fit  to duplicate your 'color the whole row' specification. The final result, with Table 2 slid behind Table 1, is shown.
    Table 2 is a single column table with the same number of rows as Table 1. The table is resized to match the full width of Table 1.
    In A2, use the formula =Table 1::A2 to copy the value from that cell in Table 2. Fill the formula down through the rest of the column.
    Select all the cells in Table 2 (except the header row), and apply conditional formatting rules such as those below.
    Note that the Conditional Format rules are set to apply the same colour to text and fill in the cell, so that the text disappears.
    When Table 2 is ready, select it, then go Arrange > Send to Back.
    Before sliding Table 2 behind Table 1, Select Table 1 and use the Table Inspector to set the Cell Background to None (see red arrow in illustration). If This table has a Header column, you need to select the header cells independently and again set the Cell Background to None.
    Now select Table 2 and drag it to a position partially under Table 1. When you see the blue alignment guides on both sides, or at the top and bottom, of Table 1, release the mouse button and use the arrow keys to nudge Table 2 into its final position.

  • Three Numbers questions:how do you change the auto default background or fill color from white to another color to use in multiple succeeding operations?  what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percent?

    Numbers questioons:
    -how do I change the automatic default background fill color so it stays a non white color?
    -what is the formula to express the ratio of two numbers as a percentage?
    -how do I create a signal formula to be sue against an entire column of data (for example, if I wanted to multiply the each cell in the column by the number 10)?
    -I have created a spreadsheet in Numbers with header and rows labelled and it contains formulas as well.  I now want to create a new 'blank' of this template with same header and row names and formulas, but without the cell entries from my earlier exerciser so I can use again in the future. How do I do this?

    Hi Matt,
    For short columns, the easiest method is to select the cell containing the formula, then grab the fill handle (small circle at the botom right of the selected cell) and drag down.
    For long columns, use either Jerry's suggestion (copy/paste) or Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Copy/Paste:
    Select the cell containing the formula. Copy
    Select from the cell containing teh formula to the end of the column. Paste.
    Fill Down:
    After entering the formula, and pressing enter...
    Click on the column reference tab to select the whole column.
    Command click on each cell above the one containing the formula to remove it from the selection.
    When cell with the formula is the top cell in the selection, go Insert > Fill > Fill Down.
    Pick whichever is easiest.

  • Changing the button fill color in Captivate 7?

    I am pretty sure that when I used Captivate 6 and I created a button, there was an option in the Properties pane to allow me to change the fill color of the button. I am using Captivate 7 now, and I no longer see this option. Under the "General" tab, it allows me to change the button type, caption, make it transparent, or allows me to see button widgets. Did they remove the ability to simply change the fill color of a button?

    I'm wondering if this is something that was maybe added in a service release. Either that or you may need to reset your preferences.
    Mine has a section titled Fill & Stroke as shown below.
    Cheers... Rick

  • Script to change fill color based on excel data?

    Hi.  I'm curious if there is a way to change the fill color of, say a rectangle, in Illustrator based on data in an excel spreadsheet (csv or whatever).  For example: say the data in the excel cell is 1 and that corresponds to the rectangle in Illustrator having a yellow fill...  Now say I update the data in the cell to 2 and save.  I run the script and it makes the box red.  Is that even remotely possible?  Thanks.

    Hi, yes it's possible, I used VBA on Windows
    Assuming you have an Illustrator file with 1 square, and 2 swatches named "yellow" and "red"
    this is how I set up the excel file
    type the formula in cell F2 as shown, make your color updates on cell E2
    VBA code:
    Sub recolorSquare()
        Dim iapp As New Illustrator.Application
        Dim idoc As Illustrator.Document
        Dim rect As Illustrator.PathItem
        Dim whatColor As String
        whatColor = range("F2")
        Set idoc = iapp.ActiveDocument
        Set rect = idoc.PathItems(1)
        rect.FillColor = idoc.Swatches(whatColor).Color
        Set rect = Nothing
        Set idoc = Nothing
        Set iapp = Nothing
    End Sub

  • Dynamic changes to checkbox fill color

    I would like to know how to dynamically change the fill color of a checkbox.  When I use the following code, I change the color of the entire object (including the text).  I just want to change the color of the little box.
    this.fillColor = "255,255,0";
    Any insight?

    Try
    xfa.resolveNode("form1.page1.cb.ui.#checkButton.border.fill.color").value = "255,255,0";

    First, if you want to start getting beyond the basics with DAQ, you are going to have to stop using the DAQ assistant and do it with lower level DAQmx VI's.  There are hundreds of examples in the example finder.  You can even right click on the DAQ assistant and select open front panel.  That will create a subVI that you can open and see what is going on behind the scenes.  Do it.  I think you'll find the DAQ task is being recreated on each (though I'm not 100% of how the settings are established or maintained in each section of that subVI).
    The second problem is you have a bit of a race condition on iteration 0.  Those two DAQ property nodes are running at the same time.  So when you read the AI.Max, it may be happening before or after the AI.Max is set in your case structure.
    Third, make sure you wire up your error wires.

  • Change Fill Color of a Thermometer

    This post is a continuation from an idea in the Idea Exchange about being able to change the fill colors of a thermometer. I am only posting here so that my attachment can be viewed (the Idea Exchange eats attachments, and potentially does not allow others to download the attachment.)

  • Highlighting the text by changing the "character fill color" with double-spacing?

    Highlighting the text by changing the "character fill color" doesn't seem to go well with double-spacing.
    Has anyone been aware of this issue?
    Try double-spacing the text you highlighted. What's up with this?
    This is so annoying and frustrating. I've been trying to do both of them for like 2-3 hours.
    You CAN do both, of course, but if you double-space the highlighted text, it just creates this huge highlighted part (it highlights the space between the two lines!) below the actual text.
    Anyone help me pleeeeeeeease.

    In Pages v5.2.2, taking Baskerville Regular 12 pt, and double-spacing it with character fill color does produce a nasty effect. With View > Show Rulers, I looked where the lines of text lined up on the vertical scale.
    Then I changed the Spacing selector from Lines to Between. Now, just the text had the character fill color, but the line height had increased visually downward. With the between setting, line height is changed to points, and indicates 27 pt. If you adjust this value to 16 pt, the second line of double-spacing will realign with where it was before the between change, while retaining discrete line character fill color.
    Before: Spacing set to Lines, and 2.0 - Double.
    After: Spacing set to Between, and 16 pt

  • Color fill only changes the border with formula cells

    Color fill only changes the color of the border with formula cells.  It works fine and changes the color of the entire cell with normal, non-formula cells. Anyone found a way around this problem?

    Well, that's better.  Thanks for the camera icon tip.  That did the trick.  However, that does lead to another minor gripe.  I cut and pasted these parts of the screen shot into the reply window.  They appeared and everything seemed in order.  But obviously they didn't send.  It looked like it was going to work nice and easy - Apple like.  But it ended up requiring more steps and clicks - Microsoft like...
    Anyway, as you can see, the cell with the RED expired has not filled with black like, rather the black appears on the border.

  • Why can't change fill color??

    I am learning how to use Flash and am stuck.  Can anyone tell me what this means?  What do I need to change to be able to change fill colors?

    Thanks for the reply.
    When I click on this box, it brings up all of the different fill colors I can choose from.  When I select one, nothing happens and the fill button looks the same as in the picture above.  There is only one circle that I drew and the stage is black, although it doesn't seem to matter what color I choose for the stage.  I am positive there as something I am doing wrong, as I am still very new at Flash, I just can't seem to figure it out.
