What are the JDBC settings in CC? The DB that you are trying to connect, have the same dbs version of AS400 that successful connected?

    Hi
    We are trying to connect to an AS400 from SAP XI 3.0 using JDBC.
    I am currently getting a Connection Timeout error;
    Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:as400://xxxxxDEV;Fxxxxx.LIB/Fxxxxx.LIB' using the JDBC driver 'com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:as400://xxxxxDEV;Fxxxxx.LIB/Fxxxxx.LIB': SQLException: The application requester cannot establish the connection. (Connection timed out: connect)'
    Can anyone tell me how to find which Port this is trying to connect on?
    We already have successful connections to a different AS400 within our own network, so there is no issues with the driver not being deployed in XI.
    Thanks in advance.

  • How to setup a validation table in the IBM AS400 ?????

    I am trying to use the Java studio creator with the IBM AS400
    and I am having difficulty setting up a validation table.
    I created a totally new DB2 SQL table, with just a couple of columns.
    However, when I use it as the validation table to setup the Datasource, I get the following message:
    [SQL5016] Qualified object name PMABR not valid.
    The ideal validation table exists only for connection validation purposes. Do not use an existing table that has a large number of rows or a table that will be frequently accessed.
    any ideas?
    thanks a lot

    Thanks for rectifying me Howard.
    I just read your full article on this too and its very well explained here:
    http://www.dizwell.com/prod/node/357
    Few lines from your article
    It is true, of course, that since Version 8.0 Oracle has provided the ability to create a Keep Pool in the Buffer Cache, which certainly sounds like it can do the job... especially since that word 'keep' is used again. But a keep pool is merely a segregated part of the buffer cache, into which you direct blocks from particular tables (by creating them, or altering them, with the BUFFER POOL KEEP clause). So you can tuck the blocks from such tables out of the way, into their own part of the buffer cache... but that is not the same thing as guaranteeing they'll stay there. If you over-populate the Keep Pool, then its LRU mechanism will kick in and age its contents out just as efficiently as an unsegregated buffer cache would.
    Functionally, therefore, there can be no guarantees. The best you can do is create a sufficiently large Keep Pool, and then choose the tables that will use it with care such that they don’t swamp themselves, and start causing each other to age out back to disk.
    Thanks and Regards

  • JMS Receiver Adapter - com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory

    Hello experts,
    I am trying to configure JMS Adapter to Access Websphere Application Server via JNDI. The configuration is as follow:
    Initial Context Factory: com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory
    Connection Factory: jms/messageQueueCF
    Server URL: iiop://ammtnode.iubs.intra:2809/
    Queue Name: jms/EXT_INPUT_QUEUE
    I deployed all required jar files but Iu2019m still unable to connect to WAS because adapter cannot initialize ORB:
    javax.naming.NamingException: Failed to initialize the ORB
    I wrote a small java class to check where the problem was:
    ============================================================================
    Hashtable env = new Hashtable();
    env.put(Context.INITIAL_CONTEXT_FACTORY,"com.ibm.websphere.naming.WsnInitialContextFactory");
    env.put(Context.PROVIDER_URL, "iiop://ammtnode.iubs.intra:2809/");
    env.put("java.naming.corba.orb",org.omg.CORBA.ORB.init((String[])null,null));
    Context jndiContext = null;
    try {
    jndiContext = new InitialContext(env);
    ConnectionFactory connectionFactory = (ConnectionFactory) jndiContext.lookup("jms/messageQueueCF");
    Connection qConn = connectionFactory.createConnection();
    Session qSession = qConn.createSession(false,Session.AUTO_ACKNOWLEDGE);
    Queue q = (Queue) jndiContext.lookup("jms/EXT_INPUT_QUEUE");
    MessageProducer producer = qSession.createProducer(q);
    TextMessage message = qSession.createTextMessage();
    message.setText(text);
    producer.send(message);
    producer.close();
    qSession.close();
    qConn.close();
    } catch (Exception e) {
         e.printStackTrace();
    ============================================================================
    I got the same error until I wrote this line:
    env.put("java.naming.corba.orb",org.omg.CORBA.ORB.init((String[])null,null));
    And everything worked fine. Now I want to do the same in my JMS Receiver adapter but I donu2019t know how to introduce this line in the Initial Context Environment. I tried as JMS additional parameters and additional properties as well. However, nothing worked. Does anybody know what Iu2019m doing wrong?
    Thank you in advance!

  • BizTalk Administration Console problem after installing IBM iSeries Access

    Hi,
    We have a Biztalk Server 2010 environment on Windows Server 2008 R2 with SQL server on separate machine.
    After installing IBM iSeries Access we get errors in Biztalk Administration Console, especially the Host Instance and Adapter information cannot be loaded.
    Except for the errors in Adminsitration Console, the Biztalk installation seems to be working fine, so the integration processes doesn't seem to be affected.
    We get the following error:
    BizTalk Server cannot access SQL server.  This could be due to one of the following reasons:
    1. Access permissions have been denied to the current user.  Either log on as a user that has been granted permissions to SQL and try again, or grant the current user permission to access SQL Server.
    2. The SQL Server does not exist or an invalid database name has been specified.  Check the name entered for the SQL Server and database to make sure they are correct as provided during SQL Server installation.
    3. The SQL Server exists, but is not currently running.  Use the Windows Service Control Manager or SQL Enterprise Manager to start SQL Server, and try again.
    4. A SQL database file with the same name as the specified database already exists in the Microsoft SQL Server data folder.
    Internal error from OLEDB provider: "The type initializer for 'System.Data.SqlClient.SqlConnection' threw an exception." (WinMgmt)
    I tried to uninstall the IBM iSeries Access, but the problem remains.
    This issue is related to this post

    Hi and thanks for your help!
    The machine.config did it :)
    According to this link there is a known issue with the IBM iSeries Access installation which removes the proper permissions from the machine.config and therefore Biztalk Administration Console stops working correctly.

  • I can't link to an I series (IBM AS400) server from my sql server 2014 server (64 bit) -- but yes can link on sql server 2005 (32 bit)

    I have an I series (IBM AS400) server linked "OK" to a sql 2005 sql server (32 big).  I copied the link script (but changed credentials) from the sql server 2005 link and attempted to run it in the sql server 2014 server (on win 7 64

    Thank you for this reply.  I went to the link and selected the option for DB2s and ran the install.  Then I started up SSMS.  I copied the same script as above, and it executed successfully.  But when I try to run a query against
    a table in a database on this linked sever -- I get this error message:
    OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "CWMPDTA" returned message "[Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Driver's SQLSetConnectAttr failed".
    OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "CWMPDTA" returned message "[IBM][System i Access ODBC Driver]Key value in connection string too long.".
    Msg 7303, Level 16, State 1, Line 8
    Cannot initialize the data source object of OLE DB provider "MSDASQL" for linked server "CWMPDTA".
    Do I need to change the line containing -- @provider=N'MSDASQL',  maybe?
    this is the query I'm running:
    select TOP 10 * from CWMPDTA.T9S.CWMPDTA.INSKU
    The same exact query runs fine on the sql server 2005 linked server.  Is there something I need to configure?

  • Sequencing the IBM iSeries Access Client 7.1

    Hey All,
    I was wondering if anybody has experience in sequencing the IBM iSeries Access Client 7.1...
    We're currently trying to sequence this application under Windows 7 Enterprise (x86) with the App-V4.6 SP1 Sequencer. We've checked the Windows 7 compatibility of this version and it is supported. Every function of the application is working during the monitoring
    phase of the sequence process. The main function we're (currently) interested in is the Emulator with the SSL encryption to our AS400 mainframe. This function requires the SSL-option to be installed. We've installed this with the rest of the application during
    our sequencing and during the monitoring phase, we're able to connect to the mainframe.
    However, when we transfer the finished sequence to a test system, the Emulator pops up with an error message "SSL option is not installed". After some repackaging and investigation, we've managed to eliminate all the file exclusion that occured during our
    sequencing process. This includes a lot of "dirt" into the sequence but at least gave us the confidence that everything that was installed by the setup was also included in the Sequence. We've also excluded the Windows CA store as one of the possible causes.
    The IBM iSeries Access Client uses it's own SSL encryption methods.
    My question to you all is. Has anyone ever succesfully packaged the IBM iSeries Access Client V7R1 on Windows 7 Enterprise and has anyone encountered/solved the issue we're currently facing?
    Thanks in advance for your time and effort!
    Microsoft Exchange Server enthousiast. "This is your M drive. This is your M drive after a virus scan. Get the picture?" "Friends don't let friends virusscan the M-Drive"

    The option installs the ability to use encrypted connections to your AS400 mainframes. The IBM client installs an extra program in %CSIDL_PROGRAM_FILES%\ibm\gsk7.
    Unfortunately there's no exclusion in the Sequence that would point to anything crucial. The IBM client creates a folder in the "My Documents" folder which is (ofcourse) excluded from the Sequence. Other then that only the following is excluded:
    <MOREINFO DESCRIPTION="The unsupported shell extensions detected are as follows:">
    <ITEM DESCRIPTION="HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AS400System\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers"/>
    <ITEM DESCRIPTION="HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\AS400System\ShellEx\PropertySheetHandlers"/>
    <ITEM DESCRIPTION="HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Drive\ShellEx\DragDropHandlers"/>
    <ITEM DESCRIPTION="HKLM\SOFTWARE\Classes\Printers\ShellEx\ContextMenuHandlers"/>
    But in my oppinion this should not be something that will block the functions of the application itself (since this is drag/drop handler for the seperate file transfer client...)..
    But correct me if i'm wrong ofc.

    java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver

    First of all: Never, ever write DB access code in a JSP! It's a terribly bad idea! Instead, put you business logic (including database access) into Servlets (or Actions, if you happen to use one of the many web frameworks) and use the JSPs only to present information that you created/extracted in your Servlets/Actions.
    Next: You need to provide the DB2 JDBC driver .jar to your web application. Either ensure that the servlet container has it (by putting it in some common lib directory) or provide it in your web applications' WEB-INF/lib directory.

  • Applet using COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver

    Hi,
    I have an applet that is downloaded from a webserver which then needs to access the local db2java.zip file. It was my understanding if you use the COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver it would allow you to access the local copy of that file in your classpath. I also understand that if you use COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver you can access the db2java.zip on the server. I unfortunately need to access the local db2java.zip file. I am upgrading from Java 1.2.2 to Java 1.3.1 and it is not allowing this connection. I also changed my java.policy file and have created my own certificate as well, I understand all that.
    Here is the section of my code that fails...
    java.sql.Driver d = (java.sql.Driver) Class.forName(getDriver()).newInstance();
    WHSConnection.con = DriverManager.getConnection(getURL(), getUser(), getPassword());
    WHSConnection.con.setAutoCommit(true);
    System.out.println("Database Connection Successful");
    } catch (java.lang.Throwable except) {
    except.printStackTrace();
    System.out.println("Database Connection Failed");
    Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks ~A

    Yes, I forgot to mention that I stopped all DB2 Services and ran the file "runjdbc2.bat"... When I run Java 1.2.2 everything works great. When I run 1.3.1 it attempts to locate the db2java.zip classes on the server and not locally... Here is the error message I receive...

    But if i put this code in a servlet ot a JSP and try i am getting an error. I tried googling a lot but there were similar 2-3 posts but nobody has answered for it.

    I'm not familiar with IBM's implementation, but this kind of error typically happens when more than one non-XA transactional resource is accessed from within a single global transaction. Double-check that the jdbc datasources are configured with XA-capable jdbc drivers. Probably best to consult IBM's support site for further details.

  • Class not found error for COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver

    i have written this code:
    import java.io.*;
    import java.sql.*;
    public class tryjdbc
    {  public static void main (String args[])
    {  try
    {  Class.forName("COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver");  }
    catch (java.lang.ClassNotFoundException e)
    {  System.out.print(e.getMessage());  }
    and once i try to run it, it gives out a class not found exception error.
    I haven't changed anything with the classpath since I don't think the problem is with the classpath. I have read in the IBM Developer Kit for Java documentaton that the AS/400 Developer Kit for Java automatically adds the db2_class.jar file to the classpath. So why do I get a class not found exception error?

    I was using Web Spehere 4.0.3 and trying to connect to a database on DB2 7.2. I was just following a tutorial and trying to get a handle on Web Sphere. I am running all of these on a Windows 2000 Operating System. Here are some of my observations :
    a. db2java.zip packaged under %DB2ROOT%\SQLLIB\JAVA, does not work.
    b. CLASSPATH needs to be set to %DB2ROOT%\sqllib\java12\db2java.zip
    c. Include this as one of the packages in the package defined in
    WebSphere, using the Java Perspective.
    d. Ensure that case sensitivity is respected. All though the package
    shows up as COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver, for some reason, it
    will only accept com.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver.
    With these settings, I was able to connect to a db2 database.
    I am a little puzzled on the following. I did not include java.io package, but still it could print the messages. Did anybody have a similar experience
    Thanks for this posting.
