JDBC Driver com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver - which port?

Hi
We are trying to connect to an AS400 from SAP XI 3.0 using JDBC.
I am currently getting a Connection Timeout error;
Error during database connection to the database URL 'jdbc:as400://xxxxxDEV;Fxxxxx.LIB/Fxxxxx.LIB' using the JDBC driver 'com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver': 'com.sap.aii.adapter.jdbc.sql.DriverManagerException: Cannot establish connection to URL 'jdbc:as400://xxxxxDEV;Fxxxxx.LIB/Fxxxxx.LIB': SQLException: The application requester cannot establish the connection. (Connection timed out: connect)'
Can anyone tell me how to find which Port this is trying to connect on?
We already have successful connections to a different AS400 within our own network, so there is no issues with the driver not being deployed in XI.
Thanks in advance.

What are the JDBC settings in CC? The DB that you are trying to connect, have the same dbs version of AS400 that successful connected?

  • Invalid Column Name Error : JDBC Driver 9.2.* accessing Oracle 7.3.*

We are migrating a web app from JDK 1.2 environment to a JDK 1.5 server enviroment. Previously the web app used the classes12.zip package, now we are using ojdbc14.jar for the new server environment.
Now this particular app uses Oracle7 Server Release 7.3.3.6.0. to retrieve data. I would run a query and get the result set explicitly using the column name.
    sql_query = " SELECT DISTINCT(INSIDE_SALES_TEAM_NAME) AS D_INSIDE_SALES_TEAM_NAME FROM AGED_INVENTORY" ;
    rset.getString("D_INSIDE_SALES_TEAM_NAME");
However, after migration to ojdc14.jar (using Oracle JDBC driver 9.2.0.8.0) I can't retrieve the resultset in the above-mentioned fashion. I will always get
    java.sql.SQLException: Invalid column name
If I use the following, then I do not get any error in retrieving data from the resultset.
    rset.getString(1);
    Any cause for this scenario?
    Thanks,
    TA

Yes of course. I just the posted code snippet. This code used to work in old web server environment. Now we have to modify the resultset line to make it work when using ojdc14.jar.

  • JDBC Driver for DB2

Hello. I want to connecto to a remote DB2 database by the way of JDBC. The client is a Windows2000 Machine, the server machine is a AS/400.
What JDBC drivers do I need in my windows client to connect to a DB2/400 Machine?
I understand that only need the driver COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver, is it right?
    Please help me.

    you can use com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver
    download JTOPEN at http://www-1.ibm.com/servers/eserver/iseries/toolbox/faq.htm
    and get the jt400.jar file.
it's free and easy to use.

  • Re: ODI AS/400 JDBC Driver

Where did you find the "'com.ibm.as400.access.AS400JDBCDriver' as my JDBC Driver in Topology"? I don't see it as a option in the driver list when I try to add a Data Server to the Technology IBM DB2/400.

You can type in the driver name. Be sure to add the driver jar in the appropriate directory as described in doc Configuring Oracle Data Integrator

  • UCCX 8 access db_cra from script add informix jdbc driver

    Hi,
I want to use the db_cra database for the last agent routing from the call flow script.
I will run a query which serach wihtin the last 24 hours which agent talked to the customer the last time.
The problem is, that I'm not able to add the informix db into the uccx database subsystems.
I can only select these driver classes:
    net.sourceforge.jtds.idbc.driver
    com.ibm.db2.jcc.DB2Driver
    oracle.jdbc.driver.OrcaleDriver
    com.sybase.jdbc2.jdbc.SybDriver
But for the Informix Db I think I would need  the driver class:
    com.informix.jdbc.IfxDriver.
Has anyone a idea how to add a driver class or how to access the db_cra from the script?
I know that it is possible to use a differnt database (like MSSQL) and write each time a agent gets a call the data to this db and access this one for last agent routing functions. But I want to use the db_cra for this.
    thanks
    Markus

    Hi,
there is no way to do it that way.
You can't access the Informix DB directly from UCCX script.
But you can use a SQL server as a middleware. So you have to setup a SQL server and add the Informix db as a linked server.
Now you should be able to access the SQL server from the UCCX script.
    Kind regards

  • Accessing Informatica File Archive Service using its native JDBC driver

    Good morning,
Using the Informatica ILM suite, we've retired a number of database applications (which ran on Oracle) into the so-called Optimized File Archive, or OFA.
The information stored in there can be accessed using their File Archive Service, or FAS.
To allow access for certain tools, they've also got an ODBC and JDBC driver (from the original company that created the archive bit, RainStor), to be able to get to tables in archives.
I've been able to set it up for Aquafold's Aqua Data Studio (ADS), but given that that is shareware I've only got an evaluation version, expiring in 2 weeks.
Since SQLdeveloper, like ADS, is a Java-based tool, and it also allows for third party JDBC drivers, I'm inclined to think that somehow SQLdeveloper should also be able to connect to those archives. Unfortunately, I always get an error message: "Invalid connection information specified. Verify the URL format for the specified driver"
There are some slight differences between ADS and SQLdev in setting up such a JDBC connection.
In ADS, apart from providing user/pw, I have to specify following:
    - name of the JDBC driver ("com.simba.client.core.SimbaJDBCDriver")
    - location of the JDBC driver (e.g. "C:\Ora\RainStorJDBC-3.0.1.2.jar")
    - JDBC URL of format "jdbc:simba://<host>:<port>;Archive=<archive>;ConnectionTimeout=3600;Parser=ORACLE"
In SQLdev I can import the JDBC driver (menu > Tools > Preferences, then under Database > Third Party JDBC Drivers), and in the Database Connection Screen create a new connection, provide the user/pw of the so-called Service Manager (from FAS), and choose Connection Type "Advanced" to then specify the "Custom JDBC URL", which would have to be the same as above. If I test the connection, I get an instant error:
"Status: Failure -Test failed: Invalid connection information specified. Verify the URL format for the specified driver".
Informatica's Global Customer Support are saying that SQLdev can't do it, but I'm just wondering whether some really bright lights in the Oracle community have found an alternative route to be able to connect to such FAS/OFA archives. Given the similarities between ADS and SQLdev, to me it seems it - somehow - has to be possible as well...
Thanks in advance for thinking about this problem/challenge.
    Cheers!

Did some further investigations, on other third party drivers. Those ones (e.g. for SQL Server) - when loaded - create an extra tab in the connection screen.
The RainStor JDBC driver does not do that, and I can imagine that that's where it falls short.
If indeed the case, what could be done to overcome this?

    Hi,
Did some further investigations, on other third party drivers ... If indeed the case, what could be done to overcome this? That is the case. Currently browsing and migration support for third-party databases is limited to the following:
    http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/supportedmigplatforms-086703.html
See section 1.1 for currently supported databases and section 1.3 for those planned for a future release.
To see an example of some (all?) of the extra bits needed to support browsing of a third-party database, find the extensions directory in your SQL Developer installation, look for
oracle.sqldeveloper.thirdparty.browsers.jarthen browse it to see the various class, properties, and xml files necessary for supporting connections to databases like mysql or sybase. You may conclude adding browsing support is not all that complicated. Migration support is an entirely different matter, however. Oracle is the thirdparty.browsers extension owner. Support for more third-party databases would normally be added by the SQL Developer group based on a database's general popularity or a feature request on the SQL Developer Exchange -- obviously a long-term proposition.
If you look at the [Extensions Exchange|http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/developer-tools/sql-developer/extensions-083825.html] maybe you can get some ideas how best to proceed if you have the resources to build your own extension to support RainStor.

  • [IBM][JDBC Driver] CLI0616E  Error opening socket. SQLSTATE=08S01

    Hello all,
I followed all instructions for setting up the driver and url. However, I still got the error message as the subject. My case is that:
The ejb which tries to connect to a database run on one machine, while the database is on another. I copied runtime.zip, db2java.zip, sqlj.zip and function(directory) into $J2EE_HOME/lib/system and set up J2EE_CLASSPATH correspondingly. I use driver: COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver. The url are set as jdbc:db2:<host>:<port>/<dbname>.
Anyone can give me a hint. Thanks a lot!

Hi,, I think I have got this problem figured out,,finally.
Now here are the possible senarios:
    1. In case you are using COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.net.DB2Driver driver,, you can connect to a remote database by giving the url as:
    jdbc:db2//x.xx.xxx.xx:0000:DBINIT7"
x.xx.xxx.xx being the ip address of the machine.
Also on the DB2 server you have to run the applet server
by executing the db2jstrt script on the DB2 server machine. This will activate the db2 to listen to the client request. You may want to run the db2jstrt with the port option as
    c:\db2jstrt 50000
Also the port specified in the url does not matter(atleast when I tested the same).
    2. In case you are using
COM.ibm.db2.jdbc.app.DB2Driver driver,, you will need to install CAE(client application enabler) on your machine and configure the client to create a local reference to the remote db2 server database. There is now way (as far as I know) that .app driver can be used to connect to a remote database without installing CAE(please correct me in case some one knows a way out).
Above two cases work good in NT/ AIX/ SOLARIS environment.
Hope this will help, T.. .

First of all: Never, ever write DB access code in a JSP! It's a terribly bad idea! Instead, put you business logic (including database access) into Servlets (or Actions, if you happen to use one of the many web frameworks) and use the JSPs only to present information that you created/extracted in your Servlets/Actions.
Next: You need to provide the DB2 JDBC driver .jar to your web application. Either ensure that the servlet container has it (by putting it in some common lib directory) or provide it in your web applications' WEB-INF/lib directory.

    Appreciate any help
    Thanks

Open your driver jar using winzip or something and check if the class: com.microsoft.sqlserver.jdbc.SQLServerDriver is present in the jar. I think you need to use a different class name. or your jar file is wrong. I think there are separate jars for SQL server 2000 and for SQL Server 2005.
