COM interface for XI

Hi,
I have an application that uses COM to comunicate with SAP. I want to use XI in the middle for synch. comunication. I know IWay has an adaptor for it , but this will make my solution too expensive.
Is there another way to do so?
Udi

Hi ,
what was your application developed in?? language ASP/VB???
You could use SOAP instead of using COM for talking with SAP.

  • I need a COM interface for Java!

Does anyone know how to interface COM with Java. I need to access some third party code and I can only do it through COM.

I think the post referred to Microsoft's COM objects and not to serial communications. I'm sure this question has been asked dozens of times here. I could search for it but I'm not the one who wants the answer.

  • COM interface for Oracle JMS MOM????

    Hello all,
Can anyone point me to resources or any information
of how to implement or access Oracle Java Message
    Service MOM from COM???
    Any help greatly appreciated,
    Best Regards,

    Hi Giovanni,
First off, I have very little knowledge of COM but I'll do my best to answer your question.
There are a couple potential solutions that come to mind depending on what you're trying to do.
    1) If you can access a JVM from a COM application then you should be able to access OJMS. There is no "adapter" for
    integrating COM and OJMS.
    2) OJMS is just one of a handful of API's for accessing Oracle Advanced Queuing. If all you need to do is access AQ then you
could use the Visual Basic interface. See Chapter 3 in the following document; http://otn.oracle.com/docs/products/oracle9i/doc_library/release2/appdev.920/a96587.pdf
    Hope this helps...

  • ITunes COM interface for Windows

Anyone know what is the newest version?
I would suspect that an updated documentation was available for iTunes 10.
The one for download is rather old.

    Hi, welcome to Apple Discussions.
The version I have is 8.1.0.52. I'm not aware of a newer version, although I've just failed to find the download in the ADC site, and it doesn't seem to be there, so perhaps an update is imminent.

  • COM interface SDK call for "Media Type = Audiobook?"

I imported the type library from iTunes 8.0.1 this afternoon, and it seems identical to the library from iTunes 7.
Is there an interface or API call I can use to retrieve and/or set the "Media Type" field on an audio file? (To set it to either "Music" or "Audiobook"?)
I had thought it might share an interface with the "VideoKind" call, since they share a pull-down in iTunes now, but both .m4b format and .mp3-tagged-in-"Get Info" style audiobooks read the same as music files on that interface.

Your question inspired me to finally update my Audiobook helper application to work with iTunes 8. Since there doesn't appear to be a COM interface for the Media Kind, I used AutoIT to simulate keypresses and GUI events. You can download it here:
    http://mysite.verizon.net/teridon/audiobook_helper/index.html
Take a look at the AutoIT source included in that download (teridonsaudiobookhelper.au3) starting at line 1360. You may wish to install AutoIT so you can look at the help file for the functions I used.

  • How is it possible to use a COM interface in the teststand?

    Hi,
we have developed some small aplications that control our devices and we are planning to make a com interface for these applications?
We would like to control this com (NOT the serial interface) interface from teststand. We do not have Labview.
Is this possible and if yyes can you point me where I can read the procedure?
Or if it is not described can you briefly describe it?
Is there any other more suited options of controlling an application from Teststand? The answer to this question for us is extremly important because we would like to develope as little as possible beside the application and use the Teststand ablities to the maximum.
Our application is written in C++ with VC++ .net 2005
I already checked out the manuals and the source code but I didn't find any examples most of them use dll-s and ActiveX.
Thank you fro your help and time,
    Dacian

  • ITunes COM interface and iPod Chapters

    Hello everybody
Does anyone know how to make Chapters through the COM interfaces for iTunes? Looking at the documentation there's no such functionality as far as I can see, but double checking anyway.
If not, is there any other way to make chapters for MP4 files that are supported by iPod? I am on Windows so ChapterTool is not available to me.
    Thanks!

I don't think the COM interface supports what you want to do. You can get the documentation here:

I have a outlook 2007 plugin created in VS 2008 that reads calendar meetings. This plugin also works with outlook 2010. I used to debug this application from VS 2010 as well.
Last month, I installed Office 365 to test something. Later I uninstalled this version but after that my plugin application is crashing, every time a new appointment/meeting is created in calendar.
    I get the below error:

  • Documentation for COM interface

After iTunes 10 has been released, I thought there would be new documentation for the COM interface.
Anybody know where to find it?
    Regards
    Thomas

I second Dave's message. The only available version of the documentation is V.8.1.0.52. There have been significant changes such as the creation of the Media Kind property which have yet to be reflected in a new SDK, although as far as I can tell, the methods & properties provided in the older document are all still valid. If you need help finding the "current" documentation start here:

  • [solved] Arch linux access point with multiple interfaces for the NAT

Hi, I have a router running Arch linux. It is connected via LAN (let's call it eth0) to the internet. It has a second LAN interface, eth1, and a wireless interface in master mode, wlan0.
Now, Everything works perfectly except providing network connectivity on eth1 and wlan0 simultaneously. I followed the guide in the "Internet share" wiki article and use dnsmasq/hostapd for the AP. It appears as if all traffic from the router is sent to the wlan0 interface, even if it came in through eth1 (for example, dhcp requests). I cannot really find information how to solve this. The words "bonding" and "iptables" are floating around, but there is not really an easy to understand tutorial for this.
What do I need to do to use both the eth1 and wlan0 interface (for different clients!) on my router?
Best regards, and thank you in advance
    Jan Oliver
/e: This seems to be my problem: http://www.novell.com/support/kb/doc.php?id=7000318 How do I solve this using the usual iptables? (The way described in the article doesn't work: "RTNETLINK answers: No such process" errors.)

Or you could bridge eth1 and wlan0, and make dnsmasq bind/listen on that bridge...

  • Can't sync Digi 002 as an interface for Logic Pro 7

I discovered Logic about a year after I had already purchased a Digi 002, and have been using it as my interface for Logic Express for about 6 months.  No problems.  I upgraded to Logic Pro 7 last month and now get only garbled sound and the following error message. "Error while trying to synchronize audio and midi.  Sample rate 88215 recognized.  Check conflict between Logic and External Device."
I am trying to run Logic Pro 7.  I still also use Pro Tools LE version 7.0 which runs fine.  I can play itunes songs, Garage Band, movies, Pro Tools songs, etc., no problem, but not Logic Pro, or Logic Express.
When I switch to Built In Audio, Logic Pro works fine through the tiny built in speaker, but trying to use the Digi 002 as my interface all the sound comes out garbled.
I have been pulling out my hair for weeks.  Any help would be much appreciated.

The digi people also recommended buying the update for 7.3 and then updating to 7.3.cs4.  I am going to give that a try.  What does Pro App Support 4.0 do and where do I find it if you think that might help me?
That is what I'm running, and it works great. Give it a shot. You can do a search on this forum, or on the Apple Support section of the website, and search for that term (Pro Application Support).
Yes I have learned my lesson with auto update.  Live and learn.
Yes. Remember, a DAW machine is NOt a regular computer you can do whatever with. Audio software and hardware are finicky creatures that don't play nice if you're messing with their operating system willy-nilly.
I spoke with the Apple Store people today as well.  They suggest I spend $100 and sign up for one on one support and bring the whole **** set up in to the store and let them work on it. Seeing as how I am using a G5 tower, and we are talking about a digi 002 board, that is going to be alot of fun to lug across the mall.   I am just about that desperate though.  Any thoughts on one on one support in store?
LOL!!! they just want your money, and will most defniintely screw up your system. They'll update wrong, install stuff you don't want, and re-configure your system to THEIR liking. Stay away from the genius Bar. When it comes to Pro audio, they really know little or nothing. As an example, I went to my local Apple store recently and asked for a copy of Logic Pro. the helpful guy there responded "Logic what? we don't have that kind of software here."
    Thanks for the help.  Again.
You're welcome. Hopefully soon you'll have it up and running.
    Cheers

  • SAP XI and COM interface

The Import / Export Service has been developed by 3rd Party to allow you to programmatically load information into the 3rd Party Command Centre System. The service can be used to initialise new installations, and to synchronise data in an on-going basis with other applications within your organisation. The Import / Export Service is a licensable feature. Therefore, for this feature to work, your site must have the Import option turned on in their licence file.
The service consists of a Microsoft Component Object Model (COM) Automation interface, and a set of import / export plus data translation scripts. Data is imported into the system using the Extensible Markup Language (XML). While this is the sole format the system uses for data imports, translation scripts are provided to convert from comma or other delimited file formats, to XML.
Data may be loaded into or extracted from the 3rd Party Command Centre System in an on-line real time manner, or in a batch oriented approach. The method that is most appropriate to you will depend on your specific business requirements. The on-line method is appropriate if you require data to be immediately updated in 3rd party Command Centre after being keyed by an operator into one of your existing applications, or where an external application requires immediate access to data held in 3rd Party Command Centre. This method is provided via a COM Automation interface that can be called by any COM compatible programming language, (e.g. VB, Delphi, JScript). The batch approach also uses the Automation interface, but information is passed to or from 3rd Party Command Centre in one or more data files rather than directly through the programming interface. This approach can either be initiated by calling the COM interface directly, or by setting up a scheduled task that looks for, and processes, new files.
My question is can I directly communicate with this COM interface with the existing adapters of SAP XI. I had initially thought of file adapetr to put the XML file in the FTP location from where this COM interface will poll and pick the file but in a real time scenario can we go for this approach. The other option is to publish this COM interface as a webservice but not sure how much rework is required to make this COM Service webservice enabled.
Apart from this can you suggest any other approach which we can work out.
    Thanks in advance
    Ravijeet

    Hi Ravijeet !
You could develop a Java Proxy client that uses the COM objects to extract data and send them directly to XI (http://research.microsoft.com/~chadv/java_com2.htm)
Or you could develop a proxy application in VB or any other tool and do the COM calls and then connect to XI via HTTP, RFC (e.g. SAP .NET Connector) without creating any file in any file system.
    Regards,
    Matias.
ps: please award points if helpful
