Combine Acrobat X Pro and LiveCycle Forms

Hi,
i have a 3D PDF in Acrobat X Pro and I want to add there a table which i would like to fill with xml-data from an excel-worksheet.
Now i haven't found a tool in X Pro to make tables. Important for me is that I can navigate through this table easily (like table.row or
something like this).
In LiveCycle I have created such a table in a form. But I can't get this two forms together. Can't I work together with LiveCycle and Acrobat X Pro with 3D media and combine this forms?

okay, on the adobe site I have found something about acrobat x pro and there under the point forms they explain something with livecycle. Because of this I thought this is perhaps possible.
(here's the link:
http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7e1d.w.h tml)
But then I have to try it with one of these products.
LiveCycle I think can't deal with 3D media, so I have to do it with Acrobat X Pro?
Can I create a table in X Pro? I have only seen funcionality to add buttons and textfields.

I have Acrobat 9 pro now and for some reason it won't show up in the preview window in LC now. Do you know why?

Sorry but this is the wrong forum (this is for the Collaboration Services). You may want to try the LiveCycle Designer forum:

  • I installed Acrobat XI through the Creative Cloud and without notice it remove my perpetual license of Acrobat 10 Pro and LiveCycle Designer.

It all worked okay when I had Acrobat 10 and 11 installed from perpetual licenses, it's only when Creative Cloud got into the mix.  Anyone find a way to keep Creative Cloud from breaking this?

Thanks for the explanation Sabian, now can you share with me how I can get Creative Cloud to do a custom install so I can keep it from removing LiveCycle Designer and Acrobat 10.  When I installed it from CDs I had no problem & got everything to work just right.  I don't really care if it's supported by Adobe or not I just need it to work.

Update automatically under which circumstances, exactly?

I have been creating forms in InDesign and pulling into Acrobat XI Pro to do form fields. My client would like to fill in the PDF form using Reader, save under a different name locally on their device, and redistribute. The problem I have is that, sometimes, they want to redistribute the form as Read Only. I know how to flatten the form on a mobile device, but uncertain how they can do that with a PC or Mac using Adobe Reader. I looked at FormsCentral thinking there might be a solution going that route, but don't believe there is. Any advice?

FormsCentral won't help with flattening a form. You could set up the form in Acrobat so that the fields are set to read-only, using JavaScript. Not quite the same as flattening but it's the best Reader can do.
Note that when Reader is used to e-sign a document, it gets flattened, but this won't be possible if you need to Reader-enable the form and under certain other conditions.

  • Acrobat Pro XI when installed over Acrobat 9 Pro removes LiveCycle Designer.

Acrobat Pro XI when installed over Acrobat 9 Pro removes LiveCycle Designer.  Forms Central can't open LiveCycle Designer Forms so what do you do?
I have uninstalled XI and re-installed LiveCycle Designer only.  On re-installation, I chose not to uninstall version 9 and to do a customer set up (not installing forms central).
LiveCycle is now working along with Acrobat ProXI

LiveCycle Designer is no longer distributed as part of the Acrobat release. I think it is available as a separate product. At this point, Acrobat provides the AcroForm type tools (kind of hard to get to, just as in some previous versions) and the option for Forms Central. The whole focus has changed. I suspect that others may be in the same situation of trying to get their forms to interact in Acrobat or Forms Central, but at this point I do not think there is any way to back Designer forms into either of the two current formats. Not much help, but a comment in any case.

  • How do I upload Adobe Reader 9, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and other tools with the Pro onto my new computer?

Since I am already a customer of Adobe, I need to know how to upload Adobe Reader 9, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and the other tools that go with both programs onto my new Windows 7 HP computer without having to fill out a new customer form or without having to pay for another Adobe membership as a new member?  I need to know what to do step-by-step so that I can upload my Adobe reader 9, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and the other tools for the Reader and the Acrobat XI Pro.
You may send the step-by-step instructions to my e-mail address of [email address removed by host].

I have been trying to start my subscription again for my Acrobat XI Pro and for the annual subscription of the PDF Export for Word and Excel.  The PDF Export expired according to my subscription list, but, I think that I had cancelled my Acrobat XI Pro of $ 29.99 monthly, so, I am wanting to presubscribe for it again, but, when I try to put my Code in for my Debit Card, it will not register with your company.
So, I do not know what to do to get it back again with my monthly and annually subscription payments for PDF Export and for Acrobat XI Pro.  I have already downloaded the Adobe Reader XI onto my computer so I am set for that product.  I just do not know what to do about the PDF Export and the Acrobat XI Pro to be able to get them started once again.

  • Acrobat X Pro detects no form fields in the PDF created by Excel

I am using Acrobat X Pro on a Macbook running Yosemite OS X.  Office 2011 and Acrobat are both fully updated.
I have created a PDF from an Excel spreadsheet.  two columns.  first column has text to describe what the user is supposed to enter in the second column.  the cells in the second column have a border box drawn around them.  I saved this Excel document as a PDF.  I opened it in Acrobat X Pro and used the Tool - Create Fillable Form.  It gives a message saying "No form fields detected".  What am i doing wrong?  Is there an issue with this process?

i have read at least 4 articles and watch 3 videos that do almost the same process i have explained.  the only difference is that they used Word to create their PDF doc.  they had no issues.
so i am wondering if there is something wrong with the Excel PDF process.  i have tried this one 2 different MacBooks with same result.
what does the cell have to have in order for Acrobat to detect it as a form field?
I have a spreadsheet that has over 300 fields that should have been detected.  so yes, i could create them manually, but i am hoping to get this Acrobat to detect them.
I tried the process you did "File=>Create Form".  i got same message.
i built a separate little test process to describe the issue.  see image that is attached.
it is very simple, yet no fields were detected.

This is an open forum, not Adobe support... you need Adobe staff support to help
    Adobe contact information - http://helpx.adobe.com/contact.html
-Select your product and what you need help with
-Click on the blue box "Still need help? Contact us"

  • I have two issues. 1) unable to update Acrobat XI Pro and 2) unable to register product

First issue: I have for the second time installed Acrobat xi pro and then click on "check for updates" from the help menu. And it shows that an update is available. But when I update it I am given the following error message:
Error 1328. Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\PT669B.tmp. It has probably been updated by other means, and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor."
When I click on "details" I am sent to adobe's "update error" page. Which states the following for error 1328: Error applying patch to [filename]. It's likely that something else updated the file, and the patch can't modify it. For more information, contact your patch vendor.
I have tried uninstalling program and re-installing program but still get same error message from my attempt at updating. So I am not sure if program is update or not. And I do not know who my "patch vendor" is.
Second issue: Unable to register product with Adobe. Because the option to do so from the "help" menu which lists "product registration" is greyed/dimmed out. Therefore not giving me the ability to register this product. Please let me know what is causing this problem.

I am not sure, but will suggest some things to try. On the activate issue, it may be that your system already thinks it is activated and so you might try the deactivate and check. If that works, I would suggest you then uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, remove anything left of the Acrobat folder, reboot, and reinstall. Hopefully you can open Acrobat and activate. Then do the updates from the Help menu.

  • Printing out of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and CS4 Illustrator

Hi,  I'm working on a MacBook Pro,  version 10.6.7 Mac OS X, I just hooked  up the HP Photosmart Premiere  C310 Series printer.  It's hooked up via  USB, and will print from all  applications except Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro and Adobe Illustrator - CS4.
For Acrobat:   When I try to print a PDF, I get the message "The document could not  be  printed." followed by "There were no pages selected to print."
For Illustrator:   In the Print window, under Printer, I can either select Adobe   Postscript File and save, or, select my printer where the preview is  unavailable, it grays out all  options and I can't select anything. OR,  if I select my printer where the preview is unavailable, I get the error  message "Can't print the illustration. The Color Management settings  are inconsistent."
These  are the only two applications  I'm having trouble with, and since the  printer is sold at Apple.com,  I'm hoping someone else has come across  these issues.  Please help!
    Thanks.

You may want to ask in the Acrobat or Illustrator forums. This one is for the free Reader application.
