Combining column data

Hi Guys,
I am building a dashboard with data from 2 relational data sources.
The objects present in the query are - "Project Type", "Dept Name" & "No.of Projects".
There are 4 project types - A & B from Universe 1 and C &D from Universe 2.
Each "Project Type" has data for Dept Name & No. of Projects. For e.g.
Dept Name
No. of Projects
A
1
B
2
C
3
D
4
Some "Project Type" may have more departments than the other.
Now, I am trying to get the total no of projects for all Project Types (a single value) and display this in my dashboard.
I already have the individual data for each "Project Type" in my dashboard. Could anyone please help me achieve this?

What i got from your detail is that you want the sum of all the projects of all project types..right?
I guess it can be done with simple SUM function.
Kindly reply if the requirement is something else.

While that is not there yet, you can make use of the show when empty yes/no in combination with alerters.
So I have an alerter applied to every cell of the table.
When a condition is true (say I drilled down) I just put = "" in every cell, emptying the table,
because its now empty and doesn't need to show, it wont.
For the detail table I use the opposite, so when you drilled down it becomes visible...

Combine two date ranges in calender display

Using Apex 3.2, Oracle 10g, IE7
I have a calender that displays two date ranges: one that does a total count of assets over a one year period and the other is a breakdown of what assets are scheduled to be in use. I would like to combine them into one display (total - in use). Any suggestions or ideas on combining the date ranges?

You would probably have to simplify the existing statement and then wrap it within another select statement that does a GROUP BY over the date column:
SELECT Datecolumn, AssetName, SUM(Total)-SUM(InUse) Available
FROM (
...your existing select statements ensuring that both statements return the same number/names of columns...
GROUP BY DateColumn, AssetNameAndy

Splitting Column Data in a Ticker View

Hi All,
How to split the column data into Rows rather in a Single Row in a Ticker View?
I have created a Request with 3 columns viz., Emp ID, EName and Salary. In Ticker View, diplaying the data in 3 rows. But, I would like to display the data as we see in a Table Format i.e.,
1 John 10000
2 Allen 15000
Instead of
1 2
John Allen
10000 15000

I knew that we can use HTML tags. I have done with Creating Table and used @{Column_Number} in Row Format.
<Table><tr><td>@2</td></tr><tr><td>@3</td></tr></Table>
Here, @2 is a Second Column Data is occupying only one row i.e., displaying John Allen. But I need to display Allen in the next line as I gave the example in the previous post. I am not getting the way How can I Split that @2 into multiple rows.
Is you are expecting me to do in other way? please suggest..

we installed DCM managed clustering .it is Database repository type.
i am trying to see the column DATA(BLOB type) in PM_OBJECTS of DCM schema .
I wrote a program in java to read blob data type and write it into a temporary file.
when i open temporary files all the data in junk format.
can i see the real data of thatcolumn.Is it possible?

How to change the year in a range of column dates to the new year?

Depends on the pattern of the dates. The last procedure will work for any pattern, or no pattern at all.
For examples.the dates are assumed to be in column A, starting at A2
Sequential dates?
Enter first updated date in the first cell.
Enter =A2+1 in cell A3. Copy the cell.
Select A3 to the end of the list. Paste.
With the cells still selected, Copy, then go Edit > Paste Values.
Evenly spaced dates?
Same procedure as above, but replace +1 in the formula with + and the number of days between dates in the list.
Randomly spaced dates?
Select cell B2. Press option-left arrow to insert a (temporary) column to the left of column B.
Click on the empty cell B2 in the new column. Enter the formula below:
=DATE(YEAR(A)+1,MONTH(A),DAY(A))
Copy the cell, then select B2 - Bn where n is the last ow containing a date to be converted. Paste,
With the cells still selected, Copy.
Click on A2, then go Edit > Paste values.
Click on the column B reference tab to select all of column B.
Hover the mouse over the right end of the reference tab, and click the black triangle when it appears.
Choose Delete Column from the menu that appears.

4.0 EA1 - Data Modeler does not show columns data types correctly

Data Modeler shows all columns data types as 'unknown'.

you need to check "system data types" directory and it contents. Its default location in SQL Developer is sqldeveloper\sqldeveloper\extensions\oracle.datamodeler\types
Check "Preferences>Data Modeler>Default system data types directory" setting. If it's empty then copy defaultdomains.xml from previous installation to directory above.
If it's not empty then you need to copy types.xml and defaultRDBMSSites.xml from default location to directory set as "Default system data types directory".

The code that you have posted is adding data to the list or document library. Do you want to add or fetch data from or to document library?

I'm afraid there is no standard functionality for copy paste in ALV.
You would need to develop something to achieve that - a button for example.

G/L Account line item display-text column data missing-t-code faglb03

Dear friends,
MY client requirement like below,
In the GR/IR Clg account no.xxxxxxxxx. the bill no was displayed in the text column. Hence we can compare the debit entry wrt to the credit entry so that the left out credit entries can be traced and booked. The vendor code was displayed against the invoice no.before upgradation.
But now After upgradation this facility is not available.text column data not fletching, If the text [i.e invoice no. } is not available how can we identify which vendor bill was not posted or booked. Which was in this ledger before upgradation.
kindly help me out to sort out this issue.

Double click on on Accumulated field then it will display you the line item
Text column is displaying at line item
kindly check the Layout if still it does not showing there
then add this field in below Tcode then it will display
Tcode: OBVU
Table : Bseg
Field name : SGTXT
and save it

How to check which column data differs from master table and archive table

i have two tables, table a (a1 number,a2 varchar2,a3 varchar2) and table b (b1 number,b2 varchar2,b3 varchar2).
how to check the data in both the table are same( including all columns).
data in a.a1 is same as b.b1 and a.a2 is same as b.b2 like that.
if they not same , i need to know which field differs.

Please tell me the soluation How can I give the soluation bilow issue.
Currently user are facing one problem with respect of Line item report.
In any of the line item report (i.e. FBL1N, FBL3N, FBL5N) we want to view header reference as column data wonu2019t appear in any of the reference filed.
For Example in Bank G/L Cheque number was enter in reference field but same is not apear
In Sales G/L or tax G/L invoice number is to be appear which is again invoice number as reference in document.

To add Reference field in line item report do below.
From FBL1N output screen.
Click change layout / (clr + F8)
Now add Hidden field u2018Referenceu201D to column content and push copy button.
Now you should be able to view reference field (BKPF- XBLNR) in line item report.

Hiding the column data. What is the point of DBMS_CRYPTO package?

DB version:10g R2
A requirement has come where we need to hide some columns' data from end users.
Trasparent Data Encryption feature wouldn't do the trick as it encrypts the data only at the storage level not at user level.
I've seen PL/SQL codes using DBMS_CRYPTO which encrypts and decrypts input strings like the code mentioned in

What is point of these PL/SQL codes?
They can only be used to create functions which will be called in VIEWS. That is the only use of DBMS_CRYPTO package. Right?
Do you guys have any suggestion in hiding/obfuscating column data? Is creating a view my only option?

One solution to "hide" data (columns or rows) from end users is simply to create a view.
The end user will be granted only access to the view and not to the base tables behind the view. The view will only expose those cloumns and rows that the end users is supposed to see.
Of cause this has nothing to do with encryption. But I don't see anything in your business requirements that needs to use encryption methods.
