I have two images that I need to combine into one. They each have 2 spot channels. What is the best way to achieve this? I am using CS3. Thank you

One does not "see" the images when selecting; You just select two file names, click OK, PhotoShop does the rest, and comes back with same message.

How do i combine two folders with some of the same music?

How do I combine two music folders (one is on my pc, the other is on my external HD). The external HD is for back up, but I have since added 7gb of music on my PC. I want to add the 7gb to my external HD, but not sure exactly what songs/artist I need to move. Short of going folder by folder to copy and drag, is there an easier way to combine the folders with out doubling up what is in both spots?

IF you are going from PC to external then drag the whole library to the external drive and andwer no when asked if you want to copy over existing files. That's how I do it. No duplication and only the new songs actually copy.

Here is what I want to do. I have taken about 50 images of people walking in a heavily trafficked area. I want to have all the people added together into one image. Each person is to have full opacity.
I started by making an image with no one in the scene using the Median blend mode with a layer stack to remove all the people. Worked fine. Now, I am hoping there is some way to create masks or knockouts of the people in each of the individual images by somehow comparing them to the scene with no people. Some way to mask out or knock out those areas which are different, i.e. the people. I will then stack all the images of the people on top of one another to create a very complicated image showing the volume of traffic.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Difference blendmode. Put the people on your clean BG, switch the mode. Flatten the result, use adjustments to properly make it b/w. Select all, insert as custom channel or into an existing layer mask to get the transparency. If the photos were shot under same lighting conditions, you could even create an action for it to easily repeat all steps.

Comparing two images with Imaging Lingo

Hi everybody!
Here's the deal: I have two grayscale images and I want to
find out where they match the closest. I want to compute the
difference between the two and find the spot with the least
difference.
So I copy one into the other with the #ink: 38 ("subtract")
and wherever is the darkest spot the images are closest alike.
Right? Wrong!
When Director subtracts one color from the other and the
result is below 0, Director adds another 256 so the result is
always between 0 and 255. When I use "subtract pin" the result is
almost completely black, so this doesn't help as well. I thought
about simulation high dynamic range images with some stupid hacks
but to no avail.
Where am I thinking wrong? Can I compute the difference with
Imaging Lingo? Any help is greatly appreciated.

Here's an idea: use reverse ink to copy one image onto the
other. The areas which are most nearly white in the resulting image
will be the closest match. You can adapt the code found at
nonlinear.openspark.com
to isolate the pixels that are nearly white.

How to combine two images in preview onto one page

Sorry if this topic doesn't go here - there wasn't a "preview" category.
I have two images that i want to print out on the same page and right now they are each on a separate page in the same file in preview. Does anyone know how I can combine them onto one page?

One picture, two images with different exposures

I have a Rebel T2i EOS 550 camera.
When I take a picture and plug the memory card into the computer, two images of the picture show up. It appears they are with different exposures.
How do I stop the computer/card/camera from doing this, and only take one image?

If I had to guess, I'd say you are saving in RAW and jpg. Probably the difference in what you're seeing is that the camera is processing the JPG and the RAW file is just with the basic settings, waiting for further processing in DPP or some other software.
You can set the camera to save in just RAW or JPG.

In DPP, RAW and JPEG will both show up. The one that says CR2 at the bottom is RAW.
Like previously said, check your camera setting.

RMAN backup for two databases with similar DBID

We have two databases with SID 'uiivc' and 'uiivc1' running from one of the HP Unix 11.11 PA-RISC server. I did configured RMAN backup for both databases. But it is found that both databases have same DBID [connected to target database: UIIVC (DBID=3005194057) for UIIVC & connected to target database: UIIVC1 (DBID=3005194057) for UIIVC1] and backup configured via crontab seen running fine with full backup at weekend and archivelog backup at daily for both databases. Now my query is that will it create any issues at time of restoration since both databases have similar DBID? Does RMAN uses DBID to distinguish databases?

Layering two Images with transparency

Ok, so I have my own JComponent, and for the painting I have two Images.
The main one which contains all the stuff I want to paint, and the overlay which contains temporary thing I want on top of the main one.
To make this work, I need overlay to be transparent as it is drawn on top of the main one.
But for some reason I can not get this to work, the pixels in the overlay (and possibly the main) are completely opaque!
Here's the relevant code:

1. For custom painting in JComponent, override paintComponent(...), not paint(...)
2. Painting a transparent rectangle over an opaque background isn't going to automagically make the overlay image transparent. You have omitted to post the most relevant part of your code, namely the createImage(...) method, so we don't even know whether you have an Image type that supports transparency.

This is not a trivial task.
You didn’t mentioned if both workspaces sharing the same APEX instance, or they are on two different instances (machines). I believe the latter is a pre-condition to a success.
First you need to remember that importing an APEX component, like a single page, is possible only to the same application that it was exported from. This is still valid if you have the same workspace on two separate APEX instances – one is an import of the other (which makes it an identical copy). Still, the application ID must be the same, or you’ll get the following error: “This page was exported from a different application or from an application in different workspace. Page cannot be installed in this application.”
You can’t simply manipulating the export file, if the two workspaces are sharing the same APEX instance, as all workspaces on the same instance shares the same APEX metadata files, and you’ll receive a “unique constraint violated” error messages. That means you can’t import one application into the workspace of the other, even if you are using a different application ID.
As far as I can see, the only viable way of doing an application merge is to have two identical workspaces, on two separate APEX instances. The two applications should share the same application ID, although this parameter can be changed in the import file. You should export the page in one application – on the first instance – and import it into the other application – on the second instance.
You should also make sure that the exported page ID doesn’t exist on the target application, otherwise it will be replaced by the new imported page. Also, if the imported page include references to shared components that are not defined on the second application, it might also pose a problem.
As I said, this is not trivial. The benefits are mostly depend on the amount and complexity of the pages you want to merge. If they are not many, and simple, you should consider just re-creating them on the target application. If they are very complex, the merge might fail anyway.

How do you Select data from two tables with similar data amd merge the output together.

I have two Tables containing Sales Data. I want to read the Table a sort by date and accumulate dollars by order date. Then I want to read the second table and accumulate these dollar amounts by date and then merge the records together so that I gave 1 row
with amounts for type A and amounts for type b.

Don't know how to combine two images

I've brought two separate images together but the problem is I'm trying to get the first image of a person inside the bird cage which is the second image. please help!

Since you don't seem to want to supply your images I'll try to simulate what you have. You basically have two layers. A background layer an image of a sky with a floating cage. Your second layer above it is a cutout girl
Step 1 turn off visibility of the girl and use Photoshop selection tools to select the cage. Magic wand or color range maybe pen tool whatever works best for you.
Step 2 turn on the visibility of the girl layer target that layer, invert the selection and click on the add layer mask icon in the layers palette to add it ask a layer mask.
Step 4 the layer mask is the current target. Select white paint and a small hard brush paint white to bring the girl back.
step 5 if you paint too much of the girl back in and wipe out some bars switch to black paint and paint the bars back in. Its very easy to paint straight lines. Click once on the top of the bar with black paint move the mouse pointer to the bottom of the bar press shift and click. A straight line will be drawn.
