  • ADF How to Download BLOB File from Database Column

    Hi,
    We have one blob Database Column in which we use for storing attachments(eg Image,.doc or.zip) . We are able to upload attachments.
    How can I build page which will access that particular record and will be able to download attachment in it.
    It should prompt to Save and then we can save it on Local machine.
    Thanks,
    Jit

    Sorry, I don't get your question.
    If you have a file name including the suffix like 'Test.file.doc' you can pass this file name as parameter to the method and get the MIME type back. I your sample it would be "application/msword"
    String mime = ContentTypes.get("Test.file.doc");
    public class ContentTypes
        public static String get(String fileName)
            String mime = null;
            String ext = fileName.toLowerCase();
            if (ext.endsWith(".pdf"))
                mime = "application/pdf";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".doc"))
                mime = "application/msword";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".xls"))
                mime = "application/msexcel";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".docx"))
                mime = "application/msword2007";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".xlsx"))
                mime = "application/msexcel2007";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".ppt"))
                mime = "application/vnd.ms-powerpoint";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".rar"))
                mime = "application/octet-stream";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".zip"))
                mime = "application/zip";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".jpg"))
                mime = "image/jpeg";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".jpeg"))
                mime = "image/jpeg";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".gif"))
                mime = "image/gif";
            else if (ext.endsWith(".png"))
                mime = "image/png";
            return mime;
    }Timo

  • How to get the item name from a column in an interactive report?

    I created an interactive report. Then on the same page I added a tabular form region. What I want to implement is that, when I click a column link button on a specific row, the name of the row will be passed to the tabular region, so that the tabular region can list the corresponding items that belong to that specific row. But I have no idea what the name it is. Any idea? Thanks!

    Thanks! I've got it work! Now I can associate many product to a specific ProductNumber.
    Another issue comes up: I want to be able to add more products in this category. But when I press the "Add Row" button, it generates a new line but with ProductNumber null. This results me in failing to insert the new record, because the rule is that ProductNumber can't be null, and also it can't be assured that the new record is associated with this category (ProductNumber). What can I do to make it automatically come up with the same ProductNumber for new records? I guess some kind of a trigger may be needed, but I don't know how to do it.
    I made a screenshot here: http://img25.imageshack.us/img25/3051/98605982.png
    Thanks!

  • ActiveSync Input Form -- To take AD Resource name from Database column

    Hi All,
    My authorative source is a database table called dbTable.
    I am using an input form to provision into Active Directory. The Active Directory resource name is stored in a dbTable column. I first tried to hardcode the name of AD and do the provisioning, it worked. But wen I tried to take the name of the AD from my dbTable column using
    <Field name='waveset.resources'>
    <Comments>Add the AD account user inducted.</Comments>
    <Expansion>
    <block trace='true'>
    <filterdup>
    <appendAll>
    <ref>waveset.resources</ref>
    <list>
    <ref>activeSync.resourceNm</ref>
    </list>
    </appendAll>
    </filterdup>
    </block>
    </Expansion>
    <Disable>
    <block trace='true'>
    <neq>
    <ref>feedOp</ref>
    <s>create</s>
    </neq>
    </block>
    </Disable>
    </Field>
    It didnt work.
    Plz, can anyone tell me how to bring the name of the AD resource in my input form for provisioning into that AD.
    I need help. Plz treat it as urgent coz i can't move further without this being solved.

    Hello, first try to trace the value, using <ref>activeSync.resourceName</ref> should work,
    also read the example in Identity Manager documentation (PDFs) called: "Example: Disabling Accounts through ActiveSync Capable Adapters"

    i think normally u will get data from databsae as objects.they are like java beans having getter and setter methods.so you create a collection of those objects like collect all the objects coming from database into an arraylist or....
    suppose you want to populate the dropdown box with say "username" from database object s, your code will look like that
    <html:select property="name">
    <html:options collection="databaseList" property="username" />
    </html:select>
    "databaseList" is collection(say.. ArrayList) of objects you are getting from database.this dropdown will contain all the "usernames" you are getting from database.

  • Error loading from database

    I have a .wft file and two databases: Deploy and Production.
    If I save the .wft file to Production it works fine but if I save it to Deploy I get when Uploading from database:
    1300: Could not load.
    1114: Could not load from database.
    1115: Could not load all definitions referenced by 'CON_MAIL' item type.
    1115: Could not load contents of 'CON_MAIL' item type.
    1101: Could not load item types from database. FILTER=CON_MAIL
    210: Oracle Error: ORA-01403: no data found
    . SQL text: SELECT protect_level, custom_level, name, display_name, description, type, subtype, format, text_default, to_char(number_default), to_char(date_default, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS') FROM wf_item_attributes_vl WHERE item_type = :type ORDER BY sequence
    It did not create in deploy the row in the table wf_item_attributes and I think this is not a NLS_LANG problem because the same file worked in Production DB (they have the same environement).
    Any solution? I could create process in Deploy until one month ago.
    Thanks in advance JR

    José,
    Por tu nombre asumo que hablas español por lo que te escribo en ese idioma.
    En nuestro caso, como el mensaje de error indicaba que el siguiente query generaba problemas, lo analizamos
    SELECT protect_level, custom_level, name, display_name, description,
    type, subtype, format, text_default, to_char(number_default),
    to_char(date_default, 'YYYY/MM/DD HH24:MI:SS')
    FROM wf_item_attributes_vl
    WHERE item_type = :type
    ORDER BY sequence

  • Passing Shuttle Item results to Database Colomn

    Hi There,
    Building my first database using APEX and am stuck with how I go about storing the results selected in a Shuttle Item to a database column...
    Can anyone please point me in the direction of resolving this issue ?
    Regards
    Jes

    Hmm, I'm not exactly sure how that works ... the process they said to use is:
    DECLARE
    BEGIN
    FOR z in 1..htmldb_application.g_f01.count loop
    UPDATE "SHUTTLE_DEMO_CATEGORY" SET "CATEGORY" = 1, "ORDER" = z WHERE "SHUTTLE_DEMO_CATEGORY"."ID" = htmldb_application.g_f01(z);
    END LOOP;
    FOR z in 1..htmldb_application.g_f02.count loop
    UPDATE "SHUTTLE_DEMO_CATEGORY" SET "CATEGORY" = 2, "ORDER" = z WHERE "SHUTTLE_DEMO_CATEGORY"."ID" = htmldb_application.g_f02(z);
    END LOOP;
    END;
    But it's not grabbing anything. At least I want to be able to see the colon delimited items that I selected.
    Maybe I am not doing it right ...
    All I really want is the "Copy" Functionality from here: http://apex.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=35253:2:3896988266043617::NO
    If I could use the existing Shuttle Item APEX provides, and somehow mimic the "Copy" portion when clicking the move() > arrow. That would be great. There must be some sort of javascript that I can overload in the header, but I am not sure how to do it.
    If anyone has any insight that would be great! I'd appreciate it! I know there's an easier way to do this!!
    Thanks in advance!!

  • Getting data in a combobox from database

    I have done database connectivity in flex using .net. Now I am getting data in flex in a data grid. Everuthing is working fine if I take data in a data grid.
    My problem is that if I try to take that data in any other control, other than data grid, it shows up no data, it only shows "object[object].
    for ex:
    if I am getting 3 rows from databse and I try to get those in a combo box, den I am getting 3 items in combo box like this:
    object[object]
    object[object]
    object[object]
    instead of actual data.
    I am stuck in this problem for last 3 days. I have tried lot of things but nuthing is working. Plz anyone help me out soon. Its really urgent.
    I am working on a live project and not able to proceed because of this problem.

    Hi Bhavika,
    You need to tell your combobox which value should be displayed in the ComboBox...for display...
    You are getting 3 rows from database which are objects since you haven't told your combobox which value to be displayed it is displaying as [Object,Object]...
    So you need to tell your ComboBox which values to be displayed ..and you can do this by assigning the labelField property of the ComboBox..
    Say in your object you have three properties say..data, value, name...etc;;
    Then if you want display name as your ComboBox display label then simply write ....labelField="name" in your ComboBox ...
    Thanks,

  • [Forum FAQ] How to configure a Data Driven Subscription which get multi-value parameters from one column of a database table?

    Introduction
    In SQL Server Reporting Services, we can define a mapping between the fields that are returned in the query to specific delivery options and to report parameters in a data-driven subscription.
    For a report with a parameter (such as YEAR) that allow multiple values, when creating a data-driven subscription, how can we pass a record like below to show correct data (data for year 2012, 2013 and 2014).
    EmailAddress                             Parameter
    Comment
    [email protected]              2012,2013,2014               NULL
    In this article, I will demonstrate how to configure a Data Driven Subscription which get multi-value parameters from one column of a database table
    Workaround
    Generally, if we pass the “Parameter” column to report directly in the step 5 when creating data-driven subscription.
    The value “2012,2013,2014” will be regarded as a single value, Reporting Services will use “2012,2013,2014” to filter data. However, there are no any records that YEAR filed equal to “2012,2013,2014”, and we will get an error when the subscription executed
    on the log. (C:\Program Files\Microsoft SQL Server\MSRS10_50.MSSQLSERVER\Reporting Services\LogFiles)
    Microsoft.ReportingServices.Diagnostics.Utilities.InvalidReportParameterException: Default value or value provided for the report parameter 'Name' is not a valid value.
    This means that there is no such a value on parameter’s available value list, this is an invalid parameter value. If we change the parameter records like below.
    EmailAddress                        Parameter             Comment
    [email protected]         2012                     NULL
    [email protected]         2013                     NULL
    [email protected]         2014                     NULL
    In this case, Reporting Services will generate 3 reports for one data-driven subscription. Each report for only one year which cannot fit the requirement obviously.
    Currently, there is no a solution to solve this issue. The workaround for it is that create two report, one is used for view report for end users, another one is used for create data-driven subscription.
    On the report that used create data-driven subscription, uncheck “Allow multiple values” option for the parameter, do not specify and available values and default values for this parameter. Then change the Filter
    From
    Expression:[ParameterName]
    Operator   :In
    Value         :[@ParameterName]
    To
    Expression:[ParameterName]
    Operator   :In
    Value         :Split(Parameters!ParameterName.Value,",")
    In this case, we can specify a value like "2012,2013,2014" from database to the data-driven subscription.
    Applies to
    Microsoft SQL Server 2005
    Microsoft SQL Server 2008
    Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2
    Microsoft SQL Server 2012

    For every Auftrag, there are multiple Position entries.
    Rest of the blocks don't seems to have any relation.
    So you can check this code to see how internal table lt_str is built whose first 3 fields have data contained in Auftrag, and next 3 fields have Position data. The structure is flat, assuming that every Position record is related to preceding Auftrag.
    Try out this snippet.
    DATA lt_data TYPE TABLE OF string.
    DATA lv_data TYPE string.
    CALL METHOD cl_gui_frontend_services=>gui_upload
      EXPORTING
        filename = 'C:\temp\test.txt'
      CHANGING
        data_tab = lt_data
      EXCEPTIONS
        OTHERS   = 19.
    CHECK sy-subrc EQ 0.
    TYPES:
    BEGIN OF ty_str,
      a1 TYPE string,
      a2 TYPE string,
      a3 TYPE string,
      p1 TYPE string,
      p2 TYPE string,
      p3 TYPE string,
    END OF ty_str.
    DATA: lt_str TYPE TABLE OF ty_str,
          ls_str TYPE ty_str,
          lv_block TYPE string,
          lv_flag TYPE boolean.
    LOOP AT lt_data INTO lv_data.
      CASE lv_data.
        WHEN '[Version]' OR '[StdSatz]' OR '[Arbeitstag]' OR '[Pecunia]'
             OR '[Mita]' OR '[Kunde]' OR '[Auftrag]' OR '[Position]'.
          lv_block = lv_data.
          lv_flag = abap_false.
        WHEN OTHERS.
          lv_flag = abap_true.
      ENDCASE.
      CHECK lv_flag EQ abap_true.
      CASE lv_block.
        WHEN '[Auftrag]'.
          SPLIT lv_data AT ';' INTO ls_str-a1 ls_str-a2 ls_str-a3.
        WHEN '[Position]'.
          SPLIT lv_data AT ';' INTO ls_str-p1 ls_str-p2 ls_str-p3.
          APPEND ls_str TO lt_str.

  • Getting table column header names from database

    Hi,
    We are trying to get table headers from database. So when we query the database it returns multiple rows at the same time. How can we display specific table column headers from the returned result set at respective places.
    We tried using record selection expert but that only works for one selection and not for others.
    How can we do this?

    Thank you Josh and Abhilash for helping us.
    We are using PostgreSql.
    "command_headers" has query which looks like following-
    SELECT id, header  FROM labels
    WHERE id='header.header_1'
    OR id='header.header_2'
    OR id='header.header_3'
    ORDER BY id;
    which will return following result set-
    id                              header
    header.header_1        Header1
    header.header_2        Header2
    header.header_3        Header3
    Our Table structure is something like this-
    Page Header: Header1                        |  Header2                       | Header3
    Details:           {command_data.value1} | {command_data.value2} | {command_data.value3}
    command_data is another command which generates data for the table.
    All values in details section coming from command_data is in format string.
    We don't need to apply grouping or sub totals. This is a simple table, showing string values for all columns.
    Preview:
    Header1     |     Header2     |     Header3
    car              |     yello           |     abc
    bike            |     black          |     xyz
    plane          |     white           |     pqr
    Currently, all headers are static labels. How do we use "command_headers" to display all table Headers dynamically? Can we achieve this format using cross tab?

  • ComboBox Item How to remove repeating items that came from an entity of a .dbf database

    Hi all,
    Can somebody help me? What  I want to happen is create a ComboBox Item from a .dbf database, the PMXMON contains each product's monthly data. Here's a screenshot of the output:
    Is there a way to remove repeating items without changing the database contents?
    I have this code:
    Private Sub frmYearMonth_Load(sender As Object, e As EventArgs) Handles MyBase.Load
    Dim conn As New System.Data.Odbc.OdbcConnection("Driver={Microsoft Visual FoxPro Driver};SourceType=DBF;SourceDB=C:\;Exclusive=No")
    conn.Open()
    Dim strQuery As String = "SELECT * FROM CSHPMXP1"
    Dim adapter As New System.Data.Odbc.OdbcDataAdapter(strQuery, conn)
    Dim ds As New System.Data.DataSet()
    adapter.Fill(ds, "PMXMON")
    With ComboBox1
    .DataSource = ds.Tables("PMXMON")
    .DisplayMember = "PMXMON"
    .ValueMember = "PMXMON"
    .SelectedIndex = 0
    .Text = "--YYYYmm--"
    End With
    End Sub
    Thanks :)
    Geee

    You can use Distinct keyword to return unique records from your DB.
    On the side  I'm not seeing any informative value in your Comobox, if you trying to show product monthly data.
    SELECT Distinct PMXMON
    FROM CSHPMXP1

  • How do I null out an item based on a database column before display?

    I am using Apex 3.2
    I have an item that is based on database column. My customer wants me to "blank out" the item before it is displayed so the user will have to enter a new value in place of the one that is in the database.
    I have tried using a "before region" calculation to set the item to NULL. I can see the value getting set in the debug after the row fetch has occurred, but when the item is displayed, it contains the value from the database, not my calculated valuie.
    I also tried using an unsourced text field and then doing an after submit calculation to set the value of the database column item from there, but no luck that way either.
    Also tried clearing the item cache, but I think that happens way too early.
    There must be a simple way to do this..
    Any suggestion?

    No problem user486652 (name?),
    Yes, the $s function is one of ApEx's built-in's - see the ApEx documentation under API Reference, Javascript API's, and you'll find a wealth of built-in functions that do all sorts of things. For Javascript in general, take a look at www.w3schools.com for some really good tutorial and reference material - I use it constantly.
    Ok, so you want to set the browser field to empty after the page loads. Since this is a page event, it isn't something that will fire for a form field element so you don't want the code there. In ApEx 3.2, edit the attributes for the page, and you'll see a setting called "HTML Body Attribute". You'll see a helpful bullet note below the setting saying this is the place to add onload events. The proper syntax will be:
    onload="$s('P2_REMEDY_TICKET', '');"Once ApEx puts everything together and the page renders, this code will tell the browser to run that $s function after the page loads.
    But be aware - if you take a look at the help for that setting, you'll see that it mentions that this will only work if your page template includes the #ONLOAD# substitution string. Not sure if all ApEx-supplied page templates already have #ONLOAD#, but every one I've used does. If your code still doesn't work, check your page tempate. In the Definition region, under Header, you should see a body tag with something like:
    <body #ONLOAD#>...
    ...If that's there, your page template supports the HTML Body Attribute. If your body tag doesn't have an #ONLOAD#, add it.
    Hope this helps,
    John

    You should never access the database on the EDT.
    See [Doing Swing Right|http://bytes.com/topic/java/insights/853297-doing-swing-right] for more details.
    Yes! By the time you are working with Swing and JDBC you should already know how to structure code. If not, then you are not ready for these topics and you've jumped the gun.

  • Forms 9i: How get image from database?

    Hi!
    I want to get a image (GIF,JPG, TIFF, etc.) that is stored in database table (as blob) in Image_Item (No Database Block) by Trigger (PL/SQL) way.
    In a Block that is database=yes It's OK, the Query do this in automatic.
    I know that "select column into block_item from db_table" is not possible.
    Thanks!

    I have a multi-row block for entry data, so was thinking in a image item (No Database) in the same block for show a GIF when the user entry one code; then I will not need any thing more for show the correct GIF in each row when the user scroll them.
    The other way, if I create one block-image_item for each row that is displaying; then I need create a Procedure por Syncronize the data row with the GIF; this mean a lot re-quering when the user is scrolling the rows. This is the reason I searching one Instruccion equivalent to read_image_file (but in place Operating System from database) or dbms_lob.read( ... ) but the target must be a block image item.
    Thanks.

  • How do I load values from a database column to an array variable in TS?

    I'm trying to get the values from the column in a database into an array variable in TS using the property loader.
    The Open Database, Open SQL Statement, and Property loader steps all complete and say "done".  But my array is empty when it's all over.
    Using TestStand 2010
    Microsoft SQL Management Express 2008
    Database configured by my company, I can not change it only read from it.
    Thank you,
    Newb-D

    The database has to be in a form that will work with the PropertyLoader and it sounds like it isn't.
    Try using the Import/Export Properties tool found in the Tool menu, to export some data to a database and then you can see if your database is compatible.
    My guess is you will have to write your own loader.
