Combox box bug?
hi gurus,
we found out that for a combox control, if there are two entries , with different values , but with same display text, the selected index will always set to the first one, is that a bug or we did something wrong?
for example
value text
001 apple
002 orange
003 apple
even if you select apple, the selected index will always set to entry 001, 0 to be exactly.

I think you use the change event and the script: this.boundItem(xfa.event.newText)
It can't work if you have items with the same Text.
Try to use the following javaScrip for the enter event:

JavaScript for the exit event:

In combox box, the labels are mapped to date format cells, when I change the insertion type to Filtered rows then the date is no more displayed in date format. It is displayed as a number. If the insetion type is other than filtered rows then it is displaying correctly.

Today our designers have run into an interesting bug I've never seen before, and perhaps one of you has and can offer a solution.
We are working on a file that has been opened and edited on both PS CS4 and CS6, contains images and text and some shapes. That's the extent of it's complexity other than the fact it has about 70 groups. It's a file we use to generate headers for our different outlet centers.
Here's what happens:
We open the file and the first thing that occurs is Font Suitcase apparently goes insane, loading fonts for about a minute.
After that abates the file can be modified normally. That is until you click on a text box with the text tool. Immediately the text in the box will change to another set of text within the file. Note that the layer selected is the correct layer -- It even displays the name as the expected text-- but as soon as it is clicked with the text tool the text in the box changes not just content but sometimes color.
My only thought is that when the file was saved back from CS6 the last time it was edited, the references that control the actual source text and not the pre-rendered shapes that are instantiated from the text source have been frame-shifted somehow. Like taking a few cells out of a spreadsheet on a particular column, it causes all the other stuff to get misaligned.
We've tried saving it back from CS4 / CS6 in a multitude of configurations such as Adobe PDF. No dice.
Thoughts?What Chris didn't say is that unfortunately there's apparently nothing you can do to recover the contents of the file, save for recreating all the text (or dropping back to a version of the file saved before working on it with Photoshop CS6).
We all anxiously await the 13.0.1 update.

The Outlook 2013 "Search People" box does not function properly. It frequently displays incorrect results or a mess of duplicate results. I've reported previous issues about this and consolidating my posts into one (with screenshots this
time). Hopefully this message will be forwarded to or seen by the Outlook programmers. It really needs to be fixed.
Outlook 2010 and other prior versions worked perfectly. You search for name, you get ONE result with the info you're looking for. FAST AND EASY. But with Outlook 2013 Microsoft has created a heck of a mess resulting in huge frustration and productivity loss
with such simple but important tasks.
I have hundreds of contacts stored in my Outlook address book, and they all have COMPLETE contact info added.
One major issue that I'm experiencing in the new Outlook 2013 is that I now get average of 4 or more duplicate name results appearing for the same contact. And each result contains different and incomplete contact info, making it impossible for me to quickly
find the basic info I'm looking for. The cause of this issue is that Outlook 2013 now provides results from not only your local address book(s), but it also shows results based on your email history and social media accounts setup.
And there's no way to turn this off, or at least specify what folders and/or accounts the People Search box should use.
To make matters worse, the Microsoft developers conveniently forgot to add some form of an indicator (like a small icon besides each name result in the list) that clearly indicates what result is from what source. So you must manually click on each
result one at a time and repeat the search until you locate the correct one.
For one specific example, I have a contact stored in my local address book called
Infusionsoft. When I type "Infusionsoft" in the People Search box to quickly find a phone number, Outlook 2013 shows me 7 results with the same name. See the screenshot below:
As you can see in the screenshot above, every result just says "Infusionsoft", so I have to manually click on each name result one at a time and repeat the process until I find the correct one from my address book. This same thing happens with other
random contacts.
From what I can tell, Outlook is pulling results based on based on recent emails I've received from different people with "@infusionsoft.com" in their email address. So the first result shows "[email protected]" (just the email
address), the second result shows "[email protected]", the third result shows "[email protected]" and so forth. I don't want Outlook to show all of that. I just want what's in my address book!
And you would think that the last result would be the correct one from my address book, but no. Sometimes its the 5th result, and other times it's the 3rd or 7th result. So there's no freaking order of things here.
We simply need the ability to turn off searching of email history and other accounts when using the People Search box. Problem fixed.
(And please don't tell me that I need to "link" every incorrect result to one main contact. You shouldn't expect everyone to have to tediously link any and all results that appear to a record. ESPECIALLY when 5+ results for each contact appear regularly.)
ISSUE 2: Some names must be typed in a different way for the Search People to locate them
Another big issue I'm having with the Search People box is that some name searches don’t show the correct result, unless I search for their names in a different way.
For one specific example, I have a contact stored in my address book named "Dave Johnson". When I type "Dave Johnson" in the Search People box, one result appears, but it's just his email address, only. It's not the result that's stored in my Outlook address
book with his phone number, addresses, etc. Screen shot below:
If I type in Dave's name reverse order (Johnson Dave), no results are found at all.
Now if I just type in just"Johnson" all by itself, it finds Dave's correct result (the one stored in my Outlook Address Book). Along with everybody else that has "Johnson" in their name (see screenshot below)...
I double-checked how I have Dave's name programed in my address book, and it's in there as "Dave Johnson" for both the Full Name and File As fields.
Also, the name order shouldn't make any difference when using the People Search Box anyway. Sometimes I can find people by Last Name, First Name or First Name, Last Name. Only with random contacts does it get difficult finding their info and
I have to do strange things like this to find them from the People Search box.
ISSUE 3: Some Search People results only yield an email address only.
For other random contacts, some search results only yield an email address with no other contact details. But I can open the persons contact card from the address book manually, with the same email address shown! Screenshot below...
In the screenshot above, I have outlined the Search People box results in red, and the Address Book results in green. You can clearly see that "Robert White" is a contact stored in my local address book with full contact details, but the Search People result
only shows his email address! Again, it's not consitent. It's hit or miss with different people.
ISSUE 4: Some results just don't appear at all, but they are in the address book
Another issue I'm experiencing with the People Search Box is that some people simply cannot be found. But I can see their contact info just fine if I click on the "People" tab down at the bottom of the page and type in their name in the "Search Contacts"
field. Why can't the People Search box find certain people? I opened up their contact details and cannot find a single thing that would prevent them from showing up in results.
These are clearly serious bugs that need to be fixed. And I'm shocked as to how this got missed--or ignored during alpha and beta testing. I see the "idea" behind the developers having the Search People box search everything outside of the
address book, but in real world application this causes a heck of a lot of problems & confusion, and it needs to be fixed ASAP.
For technical details, I have Outlook 2013 running on two computers using hosted Exchange 2010. One system is Windows 7 and other is Windows 8. The same problems occur on BOTH computers. As far as my Outlook account setup, I have all contacts stored in the
main address book (no sub-folders or other folders).
Can someone help communicate this message to the Outlook developers??? The "Frown" button limits me to 100 characters and one image. There's no way I can communicate this level of detail and steps to duplicate in 100 characters!Thanks for your reply.
1) The instant search boxes in each individual page work just fine. If I am on the People page and type in a name in the "Search Contacts" field, it searches my contacts and displays the results that I want. But I should not have to leave whatever screen
I'm in to find people now. In Outlook 2010 and earlier versions, I could be on the calendar page and then search for a contact without clicking off the calendar completely. For productivity-sake, it's a huge waste of time and hassle now.
2) I'm familiar with how contact linking works, and quite frankly it's a huge mess in general. I NEVER create multiple contacts for the same person. I get that Outlook 2013 get confused now when it detects a LinkedIn or Facebook account for the same person
already in my Outlook address book, but we need to have options that allow us to turn off results from some or all social networks. This is a big part of the problem.
Think about it this way - The average person has 150+ LinkedIn connections, and more for Facebook. Many people today have accounts for both and they are setup with the same email address. When Outlook 2013 has to scan all the networks IN ADDITION to your
local address book(s), it's a no brainer that it can get very confused trying to display results.
Another big part of the problem is that Outlooks new search system also scans your email history. I receive emails from people who use multiple email addresses, or emails from companies with multiple reps or ticket systems that send you a unique
ticket ID # ending in the same email address domain. Now Outlook displays people search results based on everything under the sun in my email history. This is beyond frustrating (see my "Infusionsoft" screenshot above in the first post).
Again, I want to stress that for the search examples I referenced, I only have one entry in my Outlook address book for each person. And that's all I want to find when I search for people--what's already in my own address book!
In summary:
We need an OPTION to turn off searching external networks when using the People Search box
We need an option to tell Outlook to not scan email history for people search results (I think this needs to be disabled entirely actually. It's not helpful at all)
There should be a fixed priority for displaying people search results, with local address book results FIRST, followed by social network results.
There should be a clear icon/indicator next to each result that gives you a clue as to where the result is coming from. Your address book? Facebook? LinkedIn? We should not need to click on each result to get a hint as to where it's coming from.
Work out the bugs in general with the new search system.
One other thing that I didn't mention is that the Search People box also shows results for people I'm not even "friends" or connected with on the different social networks. But I've noticed that some people use the same email address for those networks that
I already have programmed for them in my address book, which is why Outlook sometimes shows me these results. Does that make sense?
I'll try rebuilding the index, but after testing Outlook 2013 on 3 different machines so far and seeing the same results (all slightly different results on each machine and very inconsistent), I doubt this will address the issue. -
Setting trim box bug in Acrobat Pro 7 & 8 - try it...
I have filed this bug a few times with Adobe over the past months but there doesn't seem to be any movement. I'd download the trial of Acrobat 9 Pro to check but alas us Mac users are not deemed worthy of that.
I implore anyone who can to try out the following:
- Open up an existing PDF or create a new, blank one. Zoom out to a point where you get a good amount of "no-man's land" gray around your document.
- Go to Document->Crop Pages... and pick "trim box" from the drop down menu.
Now start moving the right-hand constraint of the trim box using the "up" arrow widget and see what happens in the main document window. For me and the users that I support, the guide that represents the right-hand trim box constraint will start coming in from the right-most side of the document window, that is, inside the gray out-of-bounds area. In addition to the guide being in the wrong place it also doesn't get redrawn every time the right-hand margin is moved by the standard .125" step by clicking the "up" or "down" widget. As a result there will be a whole mess of black vertical guides left on the screen, obscuring the actual position of the guide regardless of whether or not it is placed on the screen in accordance to the right-hand trim box constraint setting. Similarly, the main document can be zoomed in to fit to window but the guide will still be drawn incorrectly and exhibit the same "ghosting".
All of this has remained the same between versions 8.0 and 8.1.2 of Acrobat Pro and in one of my discussions with an Adobe tech rep who was testing it on his side I was told it also exists in Acrobat Pro 7. It is an issue because the small preview window in the Crop Pages window is not very useful when working with large document dimensions that need precise trimming adjustments beyond a standard eight or quarter inch all around.
Hopefully someone else can confirm this issue while I try to find out whether Acrobat 9 still exhibits the same behavior.
Thanks.This has been a problem since version 8 on the mac. Acrobat 7 on the mac worked fine with the right side trim but not on the PC.
We are still having this problem with Acrobat 9.4.0 on the Mac & PC.
This has now been an issue for 2 versions of Acrobat Pro.(8 & 9)
Being in Pre Press and having to constantly set the trim for jobs, this is now taking up too much time and costing money.
Please fix this Adobe.
and on another note. how hard would it be to display the trim (if set) next to where the page size is?
If the trim is set it should display it! why should we have to go to document/crop pages>trim.
Im in a busy Pre Press Dept and the amount of times you have to check a trim size is stupid.
I always set prefs to display crop / trim / and bleed boxes and this helps but it should display it if its set.

Transform/Bounding Box Bug Illustrator CC 2014 18.1.0
Hi Guys,
I did a little screencast here, anyway the bug is a simple one to explain. For some reason the transform/bounding box disappears on single objects, but behaves normally on multiples and groups.
Such a small thing but very annoying.

All those alternatives certainly match up to the testing I'd done, probably the fastest/cleanest is to just hit "unite" in the pathfinder palette.
For the benefit of other users, coming only recently from CS5 this is an interesting new option, MENU = OBJECT > SHAPE > EXPAND RECTANGLE (snapshot below) once you have "Expanded" the rectangle it will behave as expected where toggling back to the black Selection Tool (V) will show the transform handles.
I'll be heading over to Yosemite in the next week if I get some downtime to make it happen! (crosses fingers - back up - back up - back up...)

N95 v30 upgrade: blue message box bug?
I recently upgraded to the latest firmware for my N95.
Now, whenever I copy text (pencil, then left select), the moment the text has copied a message pops up in the top right corner of the screen saying "Copied" inside a box with a blue background.
The same kind of messages pop up when I'm using Nokia Maps, with techy-looking speak inside e.g. GetSatNavPos=1 (I can't remember them exactly but as a programmer they look like internal variables for the Maps program).
As it looks so ugly compared to the rest of the theme (and as the Maps messages are of no help or interest to the user whatsoever) I can't help but wonder if this is a bug - it seems to only have occurred since I installed the BetaLabs Nokia Email client.
My guess is that internal comments in the programs are getting outputted to the screen - anyone else seen this? It makes my 21st century phone look decidedly dodgy!
If this is actually some kind of feature to assure new users their phone is actually doing what it's supposed to be doing, could Nokia perhaps come up with a way of displaying messages that isn't so out-of-keeping with the application/theme?Yep. Was indeed a "feature" of Nokia Email

Definitely a bug as well - tried changing the clock to an impossible time (eg 25:35) and an error message popped up that was wider than the screen!

I have the following BW reporting requirements
- say for example:- in my info cube there are 3 characteristics and 2 key figures
- there should be 3 combo box w.r.to 3 different characteristics
- check box to select key figures
- depend upon the above selection of characteristic, if say for example user is choosing char 1 and char 2 with 2 key figure, he can see the result in respective chart area.
Has any one handled this type of reporting..

Data deletion is not needed in case of upgrade, the simple reason behind that is if you think of upgrading production system and deleting all the current data then situation will become very uncomfortable so don't worry about data and simply go for system upgrade.

When I make a selection in my combo box component the opened
selection box closes however the border of the selection box
remains visible.
How can I resolve this?After troubleshooting I noticed that this only happens when I

The only way to execute another query is to run java code, which means making a request.
With this sort of page you either need to
1 - load all the possible values into the HTML on the page right at the start. You then have the values in javascript, can set the appropriate value on the javascript event. That works ok for small datasets (<100 entries)
2 - reload the page executing the query for the textfield
3 - use an AJAX call. That is a request to the server, that returns just the information you want. You then use javascript to put that information onto the page in the appropriate place. I would suggest you search the net for examples, there are hundreds around.
Also, just as general convention for writing JSPs
- avoid scriptlet code if possible, and use JSTL instead.
- avoid database code in jsps. For anything other than the most trivial applications, a data access layer composed of java objects is preferable.

Bounding box bug CS6 (Creative Cloud)
Anyone else have the bounding box occassionally stick to an object? I can select other objects but the bounding box will extend across the artboard from the new object and group the older object with it. I can't click off of the object either. I think it's mainly a text box problem, I can't recall having this problem with shapes or path drawn objects. I just fixed it by isolating it then immediately jumping out of that isolation, it was suddenly unselected. Anyway, just checking in with other users, wanted to catalog this at least.
EDIT: Just had this happen with a photo in illustrator, as well as a circle I just clicked off from creating. The only hinderance it brings is that scaling, rotating, etc. is directly correlated to both selected objects rather than the one I intend to scale or rotate, etc.I've seen this happen on and off since the original CS. On both Mac and Windows systems across several OS versions. Sad to hear it's still with us in CC. I've seen it blamed on all sorts of things; text objects, clipping masks, imbedded / non-imbedded objects, a particular OS, etc. None of which have ever held true in all cases.
Anyway, one way that (sometimes) solves it is to;
Create another object, even a small square.
Align the new object with the 'stuck' one - use any alignment at all. If another object moves, you can immediately undo.
In any case, once you deselect and delete your dummy object after the align (or align and undo), four times out of five the stuck bounding box is gone (for a while, anyway).

Basically, my requirement is to have year 2009 and 2011 in my component "Combo Box" and when user choose Year 2010, the source data under the component "List builder" shows the FILTERED countries (since i have duplicated countries here) under year 2010 only.
So user can choose the correct countries and view the details of the countries that he/she choose for year 2010 at the column chart.

However this is what i've set for my combo box and list builder:
Combo box:
Insertion Type: Filtered rows
Source data: Column A & B (Year,Country)
Destination: Some empty cells
List builder:
Insertion type: Row (I can't find Filtered rows as an option)
Source data: From the empty cells i mentioned above ***
Destination: Another Empty cells.
Is there anything wrong with my settings? Pls help, thanks a lot!

Combox Box not displaying selected item
Below is the code I'm using to try to capture and display the
selected item from a ComboBox:

Hi All
I was wondering if someone can help me with checkboxes, I'm trying to implement in the report.
I was following Oracle instruction, but it does not work in my application, for some reason.
First Issue:
If I add in a query report the following line apex_item.checkbox(1,attachment_id) del, in the report display as *<input type="checkbox" name="f01" value="48" />* and not the checkbox item.
However, I can overcome this problem by going into the region report and in display change as simple checkbox.
Second Issue
When I check any of checkboxes and click on delete button, I'm getting the following error.
Not found
The requested URL /apex/wwv_flow.accept was not found on this server
I'm using Application Express 4.0.2.00.06
Any ideas why this is happening?
Any sugestions are welcome
Please help me

I was able to get this working again, by using a different field:
APEX_ITEM.checkbox (5, style_color) and G_F05

OAS and other DB homes on same box BUGS
Please refer to my other posts from today on RepCA and also DBCA dying after OAS metadata repository install. I already had a 9204 database install.
After looking around, here are some issues I have found on the OAS instance created in a new 9014 database:
Starting up the OAS Metadata Repository from the START menu starts the service but does not mount or open the database.
Stopping the OAS Metadata Repository from the START menu stops the service and the 9204 TNSLISTENER as well.
The OAS TNSListener will not start.
Starting SQLPLUS from the command line opens the 9014 version of sqlplus (looking at the banner).
Issuing the 'startup' command results in the error that it can't find the initOAS.ora file in the 9204 home!!!
Running 'lsnrctl start' reads the 9204 network\admin files.
Typing tnsping OASdb does not resolve; it indicates that it is accessing the SQLNET.ora from the 9014 directory.
Please advise work arounds for both this set of issues, and the RepCA installation problems from earlier posts.

- things like ORACLE_HOME are also set in the system
environment settings. This may lead to conflicts;It does, therefore you should set them with the service (I figured the installer of Oracle would actually do that for you, but I hardly ever work with Windows)
- the database and AS have different versions of the
RSFs. The most recent AS version is using 10.1.0.5
RSFs, where the database uses 10.2.x. This leads to
conflicts.
- Port conflicts are common in the ONS area, however
this should not prevent startup and should not be
very likely at this point since all products use the
same inventory and it should have been checked for
ports that are in use.ons port conflics shouldn't precent startup, but other port conflicts can.
