  • Command to View LDAP Password on Cisco ASA 5520

    Hello
    I am migrating from a Cisco ASA 5520 (ASA version 8.4(6)5 to a Cisco ASA 5585. We have LDAP issues logging into to our vpn client software. I assume the LDAP password may be incorrectly entered on the new 5585. No service password- encryption or more running:config won't show the encrypted LDAP password. What is the command to view that?
    Thanks!

    Thankyou Jennifer for the responds.

  • Cisco Nexus 5K + Micrososft Radius for Admin Authentication

    Hi,
    I have cisco 3750 switches configured to use MS radius for administrator authention. however, now I would like to add our cisco nexus switches to MS radius as well so that administrators are authenticated against the Microsoft radius for admin authention.
    I tried it earlier but it won't accept 3750 commands.. Can you please help with me with a configuration example please that I can follow?
    the commands I have used on 3750 are as follows:
    aaa new-model
    aaa authentication login vtylogin group radius local
    aaa authentication login conlogin group radius local
    aaa authentication enable default group radius enable
    aaa authorization console
    aaa authorization exec vtylogin group radius local
    aaa authorization exec conlogin group radius local
    radius-server host x.x.x.x key SECRETE
    line con 0
    exec-timeout 5 0
    authorization exec conlogin
    logging synchronous
    login authentication conlogin
    line vty 0 4
    exec-timeout 0 0
    authorization exec vtylogin
    login authentication vtylogin
    transport input ssh
    line vty 5 15
    exec-timeout 0 0
    authorization exec vtylogin
    login authentication vtylogin
    transport input ssh

    I have never done this before with ACS but not with NPS. However, you are in the right path. Nexus uses NX-OS which is different in some regards to regular IOS. One of those differences is the AAA setup. In NX-OS you assign users to roles. So for full access you will need to return the following attributes from your Radius server:
    Attribute: cisco-av-pair
    Requirement: Mandatory
    Value: shell:roles*"network-admin vdc-admin"
    For more information take a look at this link:
    http://www.cisco.com/c/en/us/support/docs/security/secure-access-control-system/115925-nexus-integration-acs-00.html

  • RS232 Serial commands for Cisco 32" LCDs

    Are the serial commands for power on/off for the Cisco 32" LCDs different than the 40" and 52" monitors?
    The "rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010111" for power on and "rs232.tx_hex=aa11fe010010" work fine on the 40"s but the 32"s do not respond to these same commands.
    I know the 40" and 52" LCDs are Samsung. The 32"s appear to be LG so I would suspect the serial commands would be different as well.
    I have been unable to find any documentation for the 32"s.
    Thanks in advance

    Doug,
    Have you tried using the Control TV icon in the DMP Manager?
    You can power on and off the Cisco 30" from here along with
    other rs232 control commands.
    You also could use wireshark to sniff the wire to
    see what codes the DMM are sending the DMP.
    Cisco 32"\LG - RS232.Control
    To use the RS232 commands on the DMP the serial port must be set to ON and
    be pointed at the /dev/ttyS1 device.
    To check this create a System Task to check your settings using Task 5
    below. If your serial port is anything other than /dev/ttyS1 use Task 1
    to set it correctly.
    TASKS
    =====
    1. Create a system task under application
    use type "set"
    name it "RS232 ON"
    init.startService_rs232=yes&rs232.device=/dev/ttyS1&mib.save=1&mng.reboot=1
    2. Create system task "RS232 OFF"
    use type "set"
    init.startService_rs232=no&rs232.device=/dev/ttyS1&mib.save=1&mng.reboot=1
    3. Create system task "Cisco 32N LCD ON"
    use type "set"
    rs232.tx_hex=6B612030312030310D
    4. Create system task "Cisco 32N LCD OFF"
    use type "set"
    rs232.tx_hex=6B612030312030300D
    5. Check DMP RS232 Settings (This setting will allow you to check the RS232
    settings)
    use type "get"
    p=rs232.*

  • How to open a database object for view/edit using a command (v. 3.2.20.09)

    How can I open a database object for view or edit using a command in Oracle SQL Deveveloper?
    I find browsing or search for object in a large database to be slow and too cumbersome.

    Shift-F4 (pop-up descrribe) on a table name in the worksheet will let you view table details, but there is no quick edit.
    You can use filters on the object browser to reduce the number of visible objects.

    In order to verify the md5 value in cisco nexus image  we need to use show file bootflash:image md5sum command. But instead of that we given show file bootflash:image . And it is continiously showing the entire file content and full junk values coming in console. I have given ctrl+shift+6 to abort the ouput. But it is not stopping and now i am not able to do anything in console. Any suggestion to abort that.
    Thanks,

    Hi Igor
    Nexus has internal accounting log: sh accouting log
    But it can be sent only to the accounting server, not to a syslog server.

  • Simulator/Emulator for Cisco Nexus 7k, 5k

    Do you guys know any good simulator or emulator for Cisco Nexus 7k or 5k ?

    There aren't any at the moment. I have heard that Cisco has an internal one that is proprietary and not available to the public. Our only hope is to wait for the release of Cisco's VIRL aka Cisco Modeling Labs and hope that an NX-OS emulator will be included. However, when I was checking it out at this year's Cisco Live the current version did not have one :(

    show cfs lock gives no output.
    Just to further clarify, we have 4 5548UP switches in the same management vlan. 2 switches are in one location lets say location A and they are CFS peers and are working fine.
    These two switches which are having problem are in location B. All the switches are in the same vlan. Essentially the all CFS multicast messages will be seen by all 5548 switches as they are in the same vlan. I am assuming that this might not create any problems as we specify the peers in the respective configurations. Or do we have to change the CFSoIPv4 multicast addresses in location B or may be configure a different region.
    Regards.

  • Ask the Expert: Basic Introduction and Troubleshooting on Cisco Nexus 7000 NX-OS Virtual Device Context

    With Vignesh R. P.
    Welcome to the Cisco Support Community Ask the Expert conversation.This is an opportunity to learn and ask questions of Cisco expert Vignesh R. P. about the Cisco® Nexus 7000 Series Switches and support for the Cisco NX-OS Software platform .
    The Cisco® Nexus 7000 Series Switches introduce support for the Cisco NX-OS Software platform, a new class of operating system designed for data centers. Based on the Cisco MDS 9000 SAN-OS platform, Cisco NX-OS introduces support for virtual device contexts (VDCs), which allows the switches to be virtualized at the device level. Each configured VDC presents itself as a unique device to connected users within the framework of that physical switch. The VDC runs as a separate logical entity within the switch, maintaining its own unique set of running software processes, having its own configuration, and being managed by a separate administrator.
    Vignesh R. P. is a customer support engineer in the Cisco High Touch Technical Support center in Bangalore, India, supporting Cisco's major service provider customers in routing and MPLS technologies. Is there is any limitation to connect a N2K directly to the N7K?
    if i have a an F2 card 10G and another F2 card 1G and i want to creat 3 VDC'S
    VDC1=DC-Core
    VDC2=Aggregation
    VDC3=Campus core
    do we need to add a link between the different VDC's

    Right now there is only a few features that are not supported on N1Kv on Hyper-V
    They are VXLAN and QOS Fair Weighted Queuing. We are currently demoing VXLAN functionality at Microsoft TechEd Conference this week in New Orleans. So VXLAN support should be coming soon. I can't give you a specific timeline.
    For Fair Weighted Queuing I'm not sure. In the VMware world we take advantage of NETIOC infrastructure. In the MS world they do not have a NETIOC infrastructure that we can use to create a similar feature.
    Code base parity (as in VMware and Hyper-V VSMs running NXOS 5.x) will happen with the next major N1KV release for ESX.
    Let me know if that doesn't answer your question.
    thanks
