Command line exp status return

Hello
I'm using a batch file with an export to backup my DB but I would like to receive an email if something go wrong, maybe even with the log file.
How can I check if the exp fails?
Thanks
Ownr

  • Command Line Executable

    How would I create the following programs;
    Operator input executable that allows the operator to input two numbers.
    ADD executable that accepts two command line arguments and returns the results.
    From the operator input executable the operator enters two numbers and presses the start button, the program then calls the Add program executable using the command line and passing the two numbers to the program and waits for a response from the Add program and displays the results.

    I'm not sure exactly what you are asking for. Do you really need to call external exe files that perform a certain function or will regular LabVIEW VIs be okay? Do you need the list of external files to be dynamic or is this a fixed set of functions you need to implement? For something dynamic, you can look at the shipping example called 'Plug In Example.VI'. If it's a fixed set of functions, you just need some sort of ring control on the front oanle wired to a case statement.

  • Command line check file status

    I have written a shell script that converts the file to flv then injects it with metadata and does a couple other things. However, the injection starts after about 10 seconds or so. I have read that the shell command "wait" will help but I don't think it is working because it doesn't know when the file has converted completely. Is there a way to know when the file has converted 100%? Can I get a variable and check it and when it is 100 or something then I can move on with my script? Is this possible?

    The command line compressor command does not "block" the way you would normally expect a command line tool to do. It returns as soon as it submits the job. Qmaster then manages the job on the queue.
    In order to do what you want, you need to use a separate command in a loop that queries Qmaster for your job's status. It returns xml-ish type stuff that you then need to parse out to get your "percent complete or whatever. Once the status returns as "100%" or whatever, you then know you can run your injection command.
    To see what I'm talking about, when you submit your job, it should return a string with "jobid" and "batchid" to stdout. Try using those in this command.
    `/Applications/Utilities/Batch\ Monitor.app/Contents/MacOS/Batch\ Monitor -clusterName <CLUSTERNAME> -jobid <JOBID> -batchid <BATCHID>`
    Have fun.. :-/

  • How do I execute a returned sql string from a function on the command line?

    Hi,
    I have written a pl/sql function that will dynamically create a sql select statement. I need to be able to execute this statement from the command line. e.g from sqlplus
    Say my function is called "sql_create" and it returns "select * from customer"
    How do I execute the returned value from the command line?" Is it possible?
    SQL> select sql_create from dual;
    SQL_CREATE
    select * from customer
    SQL>
    So I try:
    SQL> exec execute immediate 'select sql_create from dual';
    SQL>
    I don't get an error but I don't get the result set either.
    Is there a command I can use instead of execute immediate?
    thanks,
    Susan

    depends on the frontend. Most frontends (like Java and .Net) know how to handle REF CURSORS. Instead of returing a "string" which represents a query, return a ref cursor
    SQL> ed
    Wrote file afiedt.buf
      1  create function sql_q return sys_refcursor
      2  is
      3     rc sys_refcursor;
      4  begin
      5     open rc for select * from emp;
      6     return rc;
      7* end;
    SQL> /
    Function created.
    SQL> var r refcursor
    SQL>
    SQL> exec :r := sql_q
    PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
    SQL> print r

  • Returning focus to the command line?

    I am trying to write a text based card game but I am stuck again. When I run this code after I type "help" to view the key words the program terminates. How would I go about retuning focus to the command line instead of terminating the program.
    import java.util.*;
    import java.io.*;
    public class BlackJack {
    public static String help = "\tKey Words\n--------------------\nhelp = Help\ndeal = New Game\nhit = Get Another Card\ncall = Dealer shows cards";
    public static void main(String[] args) {
    System.out.println("Welcome to Black Jack!\nPlease enter a value.\nEnter \"help\" for help.");
    String input = "";
    InputStreamReader isr = new InputStreamReader(System.in);
    BufferedReader buffer = new BufferedReader(isr);
    try {
    input = buffer.readLine();
    buffer.close();
    if(input.equals("help")) {
    System.out.println(help);
    else {

    I have created a method for getInput() however; when I type "help" the while loop infinately prints my else string. Here is the code. If I type "quit" into the command line the program terminates as it should.
    import java.util.*;

  • Command Line Arguments Return/Echo

    I am calling a standalone LabVIEW 7.0 based application from the command line passing in user arguments.  This works fine.  However, I would like to output status/strings back to the same command line window that the application was run from.  The best I could do was calling a batch file containing 'Echo' commands from 'System Exec' inside the app but this outputs the data in a new command line window, not the same as the one used to run the app.  Anyone know how to do this?
    This post is the same issue but there was no resolution:

  • Web Application Status thru Command Line!

    Hi,
    How do i find the status of web application thru command line?
    I dont find a direct and easy way to get to know the status of a web application. In websphere it was straight forward. Any help from BEA team would be really appreciated
    Regards,
    C R baradwaj

    Hi Satya Ghattu,
    We have a requirement wherein we wanted to manage the start and stop of web application without using the weblogic server console.
    If I stop the web application from the console it shows the web application status as unavailable. I want to retrieve the status of the web application that is shown in the console from a command line utility or thru a java program.
    Any sample program or a command line utility will be very very helpful.
    Waiting for your earlier response. I understand from other source of information that WLST is the way to go. If I can get some source code for the same will be REALLY appreciated.
    Many Thanks in Advance,

  • How to check system status from Windows command line?

    Does anyone has an idea how to check system status from Windows command line? In UNIX we use startsap check, unfortunately I didn't find an appropriate command provided by SAP.
    The only idea we have is to use
    tasklist /FI "Username eq SAPService<SID>" | find "disp+work"
    which isn't as nice as startsap check.

    Hi,
    In windows you can use the command
    go to profile directory in command prompt and the give the following command to check the status of the instance.
    sapstart check pf=START_DVEBMGS<nr>_<hostname>
    that means you need to mention start profile or instance profile. So that it will say whether the instance is running or not.
    If you want any other information please reply back to me.
    Thanks,
    Chaitanya.

  • Command Line Parameters for Silent Install with Status for BI4.0 Products

    For the XI3.1 product installations, which clearly leveraged MSIEXEC installation files, it was possible to use the /qb+ command line parameter to trigger a silent install which showed the progress of the installation with a final prompt to acknowledge the completion of the installation.
    For the new BI4.0 installation package, it's not clear how to trigger a silent installation which also shows the installation progress.  The installation guide describes using -q in the command line to run a silent installation, or leveraging a response.ini file to trigger a silent install, but in neither case does it show how to modify the silent installation command to enable a display of the installation progress.
    Does anyone know the syntax, either command line or embedded in a response.ini file, to trigger a silent installation for the BI4.0 products which ALSO shows the progress of the installations?
    Thanks,
    Josh

    Yes, I've tried the same switch that I used for the XI3.1 installations, namely "/qb".  In XI3.1 I was able to use this switch either directly in the MSIEXEC command line or in the Response.ini file as "QUIET=/qb".  In either case, this switch resulted in a silent install that showed a progress bar window for the installation, completing with a confirmation prompt indicating that the installation had completed.
    Neither approach works with the BI4.0 installation packages.  My suspicion is that SAP has switched to a different installation engine as I can't find the typical .msi installation files that would indicate this is a MSIEXEC installation.  I'm hoping someone knows what type of installation engine is being used and what the switching syntax is for silent installs. But it can't be a completely transparent silent install (I know how to do this); it must provide an option to show an installation progress bar.
    Thanks,
    Josh

  • Cope: a command-line program colouriser

    cope is a wrapper around various command-line programs that takes their output and adds colours - a sort of ornamental cope, if you will.
    It's written in Perl, and requires version >= 5.10, so installation may be a bit complicated if you have to track down the dependencies. It installs several scripts in a directory, each one calling the program it's named after, only highlighting its output using regexes. Then you add this directory to your $PATH, and everything should (hopefully!) be seamless.
    Currently it's in release candidate status - I've been using it personally for a few weeks and nothing catastrophic has happened so far, so there's little point me keeping it private.

    And as shown by the previous list, I haven't fetched these binaries (are they in the repos?):
    Env::Path
    File::ShareDir
    IO::Handle
    IO::Pty
    IO::Stty
    List::MoreUtils
    Regexp::Common
    Term::ANSIColor
    Everything works, except cope_path.pl.
